Episode #139 - Creative Process: Absolute Zero Villains
Some frigid foes!
Run Time: 1:33:59
Minimal goofs, mostly due to existential dread. Tough times, these.
Here's the image we discussed early on in the overview segment:
Did you make this? If you're the one who made this, let us know! Good job. We'd love to give you credit for your good work.
We hope you're all getting plenty of social distancing! Join us next month for more shelter in place and talk about Sentinel Comics!
Mar 31, 2020
Editor's Note #40
We did this one LIVE! For everyone!
Run Time: 1:37:15
We had a great time with this one, even in these trying times. You can watch it here!
And here's a calendar!
Stay healthy and safe out there, everyone!
Mar 24, 2020
Episode #138 - Writers' Room: Dark Watch Vol. 1, Issue #121
Hello, friends! Or foes?! Who can tell?!?!
Run Time: 1:12:49
So, this episode is the hero/villain team-up episode. We didn't NOT succeed at that... but you'll have to listen to find out what happens. It's certainly an attempt at the given topic!
We make up for it by talking about a bunch more comics than just one, if that's any consolation to you.
This Friday, March 20th, is our LIVE Editor's Note recording! If you're on the Letters Page Patreon, please come join in at 11 AM, Central! We'll be in the Discord as well to take your questions. And, if you're a Contributor on the Patreon, the voting is up now for next month's episodes! Go vote! Voting is important!
Mar 17, 2020
Episode #137 - Tome of the Bizarre Vol. 3, Issue #61
Chrono-Ranger in Feudal Japan!
Run Time: 58:28
Under an hour?! An episode that doesn't break the hour mark?!?!
We only had two questions for this episode, so the questions section is much shorter than usual. Not to fear, though - we've already been amassing questions for the next couple episodes, and there are lots. This one just happened to be a bit more on the quiet side.
We get to the overview portion in which we establish the type of story, determine when it lands, and then craft and tell the tale, starting a bit before the 4 minute mark. That process takes us more than half of the episode, so we get to questions after 38 minutes in. Then, only several minutes later, we talk about the cover right after the 51 minute mark. And that's the show!
Mar 10, 2020
Episode #136 - Creative Process: Naturalist Supporting Cast
We have been wrong in the past about the Naturalist, but not today!
Run Time: 1:20:47
We get into a LOT on this one! We just sort of hit the ground running, and keep up the pace for quite a while!
For those of you who like timestamps, we get to the overview around 5 and a half minutes in, the question section just before the 35 minute mark, and finally button things up around an hour and 14 minutes in. A couple minutes after that, we can't remember how the link to our Patreon is spelled. You can find the answer here!
Thanks for listening, everyone! When the next episode goes live, I'll be in international waters doing my best to avoid that COVID-19, but I'll be back the week after that for a live show! See you then!
Mar 03, 2020
Episode #135 - Writers' Room: Mystery Comics Vol. 2, Issue #109
Parse gets murdery!
Run Time: 1:26:31
To be fair, Parse started out very murdery, and then mellowed over time. Today, we tell one of those early stories, and we do not hold back! Slight content warning on this one for (audio discussion of) graphic violence, as well as some drugs (not really drugs used, though - just drugs being generally around). Also, she's a jerk. Just so you know. Forewarned is forearmed, and with the amount Parse uses that bow, she's gotta have great forearms, right?
At around the 47 minute mark, we get into questions. You asked them - we answer them!
We talk a bit about the cover just after 1 hour and 16 minutes in, though you likely have already seen the cover by now. It's in these show notes!
Thanks everyone for listening! We're getting close to March, in which the recording and episode release schedule starts to get more normal. Thanks for bearing with us!
Feb 25, 2020
Editor's Note #39
Adam's back! I'm excited. Are you excited? You should be.
Run Time: 1:30:22
I'd say we spend a lot of time goofing around, but let's be real: Adam and I only see each other once a week these days, so there's a LOT of goofing to be done. Gotta get it all out of our systems!
Here's the upcoming schedule!
And who doesn't love a photo of a calendar?
That big red stripe on the calendar is when I'm out of town in March, so we're making up with a recording on the first Thursday, and then we're back on schedule in real time with March's Editor's Note. No more being a week ahead of schedule for us!
We field a lot of questions on a lot of topics! Such as:
Thanks for listening, everyone! We hope you like us as much as we like you!
Feb 18, 2020
Episode #134 - Writers' Room: Disparation Vol. 1, #04
A familiar team, yet one that never was!
Run Time: 1:06:35
We do another early Disparation story! These are always fun.
Just a note on Letters Page timeline: we're pretty much back on our regular schedule but the episode numbering is one behind since we interjected with last week's non-standard episode. As a result, the first episode for March will be what was going to be the last February episode. We'll still have voting and Editor's Notes as usual, and we're still a week ahead on recording time, just in case Adam has to pull away for a week for baby reasons, which is not entirely unlikely. We shall see!
Catch you next time!
Feb 11, 2020
Not Even A Real Episode
WHAT IS EVEN HAPPENING
Run Time: 40:06
This isn't a real episode! I mean, it has all of the elements you'd expect: an overview, a questions section, and even some things from the past that you might not expect! However, it's missing a major key part that makes Letters Page episodes possible. You'll just have to listen to find out.
More notes? Nah, no more notes. Take a listen. It's a fun time.
Feb 04, 2020
Episode #133 - Writers' Room: America's Finest Legacy #236
You didn't request an episode about the death of Legacy, but here we are!
Run Time: 1:19:54
As per the topic, we tell a story about a villain vs a villain, but with unexpected twists!
We get to the Overview just after 10 minutes in, questions at the 38 minute mark, and talk about the above cover at around 1 hour and 14 minutes. Note: the last question we answer is one of the best questions with one of the best answer, and also this is one of my favorite covers that Adam has ever done.
Catch you next time!
Jan 28, 2020
Editor's Note #38
The first live show of the year!
Run Time: 1:17:59
Here's the upcoming schedule!
And here's the calendar of when we're recording:
(Mind you, this could all change if Adam has a baby.)
We talk about all manner of things in this one, including but not limited to:
Also, we were asked a question about what Mr. Fixer was called by each of the characters that met him in the show.
We're here to help!
Jan 21, 2020
Episode #132 - Writers' Room: Disparation Vol. 2, Issue #74
We're finally back!
Run Time: 1:08:32
We're here in the future! And we're going to talk about the past! A not-too-distant but very different past!
We tell a tale out of the Inversiverse, and things get twisty! We finally start in with overviewing and storytelling around four and a half minutes in.
After all that noodling, we finally get to your questions at the 47 minute mark.
If you're on the Letters Page Patreon, join us this coming Friday for our anniversary live show! We didn't intend for it to be specifically an anniversary live show, but it turns out that we're doing that recording on the same date that we launched our first episode in 2017! So long ago! No one was alive then!
Jan 14, 2020
Welcome to a new year-- a new century!!
Run Time: 6:24
Just a quick hello to usher in a new year. Thanks for making this show possible!
Jan 07, 2020
Hey, everyone! We said there was no episode this week, but hopefully you've learned that you can't trust us by now!
Run Time: 20:25
We talk about this year, answer some questions, and perhaps more? (No, not really anything more than that.)
See you next year, everyone!
Dec 31, 2019
Episode #131 - Writers' Room: Tome of the Bizarre Vol. 3 Issue #9
It's Christmas Eve! Let's talk about an avenging angel with absolutely no chill whatsoever.
Run Time: 1:20:50
We talk a bit about Christmas, and then, about 4 minutes in, we get to work!
We expected this one to be tough, but it turns out that we were visited by the ghost of Sentinel Comics past, and they did the work for us!
Just after the 53 minute mark, we start in on your questions.
At just before an hour and 15 minutes in, we talk a bit about the cover, which is shown above.
Happy Holidays, everyone! See you all next year!
Dec 24, 2019
Editor's Note #37
It's the Holiday times!
Run Time: 1:35:49
We had a pile of technical difficulties, but we still made it work! Thanks to Trevor for cleaning up everything with his fancy editing.
Here's the upcoming schedule:
We also had a pile of questions! On a pile of topics! Including:
Catch you next time!
EDIT: As mentioned in the show, Adam asks his SCRPG players three questions at the start of a campaign:
Dec 17, 2019
Episode #130 - Writers' Room: Cosmic Tales Vol. 2 Issues #180 & 181
We accidentally got over ambitious with this one! Behold:
Run Time: 1:17:59
We just got back from PAX Unplugged, but we recorded this right before we left! We goofed around for a few minutes, but after only about 4 minutes of goofs, we got right to business!
We craft enough framing for a story that we end up doing both parts 1 and 2 in one episode! So speedy!
Around the 50 minute mark, we get into your questions.
At about an hour and 10 minutes in, we talk a bit about the covers, both of which can be seen above!
This episode is released on Tuesday, December 10th. This Friday, December 13th, we'll be recording a live Editor's Note at 11 AM Central time! So, if you're on The Letters Page Patreon, you can watch and potentially even join in! We hope to see you there!
Dec 10, 2019
Episode #129 - Writers' Room: Cosmic Tales Vol.1 Issue #251
The Eeeeeeeennnnnnclave of the Eeeennnnddddlliiiiiiiiiinnggsss!!!
Run Time: 1:09:53
We recorded this episode the day before Thanksgiving, but now it's the week after Thanksgiving! How does time even work?
We talk about a bunch of space stuff, to the point of even crafting and telling multiple tales, due to the anthology nature of the Cosmic Tales book at this point.
Around 32 minutes in, we get to your questions!
The day after this episode releases, we're recording another episode on a Wednesday - two weeks in a row! Amazing! This one is happening because we're about to be in Philadelphia for PAX Unplugged, so if you're around there, come find us!
Catch you next time!
Dec 03, 2019
Episode #128 - Writers' Room: Deepest Space #1
Good morning, everyone!
Run Time: 1:28:14
We banter about RPG stuff, then get into a series of conversations about just what comic book we're talking about today. You already know, due to the name of the episode and also the nifty cover art above!
We have a blast putting together all the building blocks, telling the story, answering your question, and discussing the cover. We hope you enjoy it, too!
Nov 26, 2019
Editor's Note #36
Good morning, everyone!
Run Time: 1:39:54
The upcoming schedule!
Here's the calendar!
We talk about a ton of things, including:
Thank you to all of our listeners, and an extra huge thanks to all of our Patreon supporters!
Special thanks to Auburn Audience for making this delightful image for us in record time! Well done!
Catch you next time!
Nov 19, 2019
Episode #127 - Creative Process: Animated Series Phase 3
Time for a very animated episode!
Run Time: 1:38:51
In this episode, we start off by talking a bit about the previous animated series stuff, as it's all quite excellent. Seriously, go listen to those other animated series episodes - they're great.
Then, after about four and a half minutes of banter, we get into this latest phase of animated shows: four shows (including one entirely new show) and two movies! That takes us... a while.
Finally, we get to your questions right around the one hour and eighteen minute mark. Thank you for the great questions, everyone!
The week this episode comes out will feature a live Editor's Note recording at 11 AM Central Time this coming Friday, November 15th! We hope to catch you then!
Nov 12, 2019
Episode #126 - Writer's Room: Disparation Vol. 2 Issue #50
Let's get EXTREME!
Run Time: 1:31:11
This one is about Citizen Dawn in the Extremeverse! We don't know where it's going when we start, but it ends up in a REALLY awesome place. Go figure. Like, how did we start with the seed of "Citizen Dawn" and get to that cover above? Only one way to find out!
We're throwing the horns for Trevor, who did a badass job editing this one. He always does great, but he brought the noise on this one. (In this case, "brought the noise" is a good thing.)
Thanks for listening, everyone!
Nov 05, 2019
Episode #125 - Creative Process: Monsters and Magic
Let's get Monstrous and Magical?
Who are we kidding - we're always monstrous and magical.
Run Time: 1:18:43
We start out assuming we've already covered all the monsters and magics... but we prove that untrue quite swiftly.
But then! Your questions are what unlock even MORE great content! We start in on those questions just after the 30 minute mark.
Thanks everyone for listening to these spooky but not too spooky episodes - but don't you fret: November is right around the corner!
We're recording two episodes this week - tomorrow is a Disparation episode about the Extremeverse and Friday we're recording a Creative Process episode about the Animated Series, Phase 3. So, get your questions in for those episodes ASAP!
Oct 29, 2019
Editor's Note #35
Good morning, friends!
Run time: 1:20:52
Another silly live show with a wide variety of topics!
And here's a calendar!
Do note that the recording times are all over the place for this coming month. We're both traveling for various reasons in November, so we're fitting the recordings in where we can! So, get your questions in ASAP!
We talked about lots of things, like:
Catch you next time!
Oct 22, 2019
Episode #124 - Creative Process: Phobias
We unleash your greatest fear! A podcast!
Run Time: 1:15:31
We explore phobias! Fears! Both irrational and otherwise!
We also end up bridging over into a "Writers' Room" style episode, accidentally. Sorry about that. We just felt like creating, I guess? It worked out, but this episode is all over the place. Scary!
We'll be doing the live Editor's Note on Wednesday this week, the day after this episode goes live, so if you're on The Letters Page Patreon, join us for the live recording!
Thanks for listening, everyone!
Oct 15, 2019
Episode #123 - Writers' Room: Disparation Vol. 2 Issue #134
Let's go into another version of reality! Again!
Run Time: 1:15:37
We're excited to do another Disparation story, even though we don't know which one! Let's figure that out, together!
No spoilers, but here are the various timestamps where stuff kicks off:
Thanks for listening, everyone! Since this is a rare five Tuesday month, we'll have another episode before the Editor's Note, so look forward to that next Tuesday, and then the live recording will happen next Wednesday! Exciting times here in spoooOOOoooky OctoooOOOooober!
Oct 08, 2019
Episode #122 - Creative Process: Count Barzakh
It's the first creepy episode of the second most creepy month: October!
Run Time: 1:12:50
After confessing our sins, we get to our creative process overview at around the 6 minute mark. And we are on fire! (At least, in our humble opinions.) Apparently, we should create in the face of adversity more often!
One successful creation segment later, we get to your questions, at just before the 50 minute mark. Thank you for your questions!
Also, thanks for listening! Don't forget to have a spooky month! (But not as spooky as next month!)
Oct 01, 2019
Episode #121 - Creative Process: Minions and Henchlings
We talk about the bad guys who work for the bad guys... and also some deep philosophical topics?
Run Time: 1:40:05
Good morning, everyone!
After a very short amount of banter, we go to an overview only two and a half minutes into the show.
There, we go through most every major villain and how they use minions, if at all, who those minions are, and more!
This process ends up taking a while, and we have a fun time of it, all told. We hope you do, too!
Then, just before the one hour and 3 minute mark, we get into your questions!
We hope that we answer all questions to your satisfaction. Don't send your minions after us!
Catch us next time for another Creative Process episode, this one all about Count Barzakh. What's his place in the history of Sentinel Comics? Join us as we figure that out together!
If you want input on what topics are considered, voting on the final topic line-up for each month, and being part of our monthly live Editor's Notes, you can join us on the Letters Page Patreon! It's pretty great!
Keep on henching!
Sep 24, 2019
Editor's Note #34
We do the monthly live talking about everything thing!
Run Time: 1:25:51
The votes are in! What's happening in October?
And here's a medium quality photo of my low quality handwriting on this high quality calendar of questionable quality recording content!
In today's questions section, we talk about all manner of things, including:
Thanks to everyone who was able to join us live, everyone who else who listens not live, and even everyone who doesn't listen but still thinks good thoughts about us! We appreciate all of you.
Sep 17, 2019
Episode #120 - Writers' Room: The Guise Book #37
We're gonna write a comedy story!
Run Time: 1:10:59
Yet again, we craft a comic from the back catalogue of Sentinel Comics! This one is much more modern than our other Writers' Rooms episodes, as you can tell by the cover.
We had a ton of fun with all the various parts of this story, and we hope you do, too!
Thank you for tuning in! If you're a member of our Patreon, you can join us live this Friday at 11 AM for this month's Editor's Note!
Sep 10, 2019
Episode #119 - Writers' Room: Disparation Vol. 1 Issue #1
We create and tell the first official Disparation story!
Run Time: 1:30:19
This one is a delightful jaunt of an episode. We're excited to dig into a Disparation story again - each of the previous Disparation-focused episodes have been a lot of fun, and getting to tell the first ever is a blast!
Also, hot damn, that cover is awesome. Adam continues to knock it out of the park. If you're reading this and looking at the cover before listening to the episode, you'll just have to tune in to find out what's going on here!
Thank you to all of our listeners and supporters for making this happen, especially those of you over on The Letters Page Patreon. We are thrilled to get to keep making content for all of you.
Sep 03, 2019
Episode #118 - Sentinel Comics: the Roleplaying Game
We're gonna talk about the WHOLE THING!
Run Time: 1:58:22
This episode, we answer so many questions from all of you! You had questions on everything from mechanics, to hero creation, to story, to both future and past info... so many things! As a result, we end up with a longer episode than we've had in a long time! We hope you enjoy all our answers!
We're heading into September with new episodes - two Writers' Room episodes! Here's the calendar:
To be part of our live show, join the Letters Page Patreon! Thank you to everyone who listens and supports us. You make our dreams come true.
Aug 27, 2019
Editor's Note #33
It's time for another live Editor's Note!
Run Time: 1:23:02
We reveal the schedule!
There will be a recording calendar posted soon, but we need to figure out some September recording times, due to the travels of both Christopher and Adam.
We talk about a ton of things in this episode, including but not limited to:
Aug 20, 2019
Gen Con Live 2019!
We had a very fun Gen Con this year!
Run Time: 1:28:49
We talk about all manner of things, enjoy a very different musical guest than ever before, and are entirely serious the entire time! (One of those things might not be true. Hard to say.)
And here's a Trevor's eye view of the room before we started while people were still coming in.
There were a lot of people this year! Good thing Gen Con gave us a bigger room than ever before. Let's pack even more in next year!
Between now and then, join us next week on our Patreon for a live recording of this month's Editor's Note!
Aug 13, 2019
Microsode #2, 2019
We're at it again - posting something when we said we wouldn't. What rapscallions. You can't take us anywhere.
Run Time: 8:13
This is the second week of our two week Gen Con hiatus, and yet, we just couldn't NOT post SOMETHING, right?
Last week was Gen Con, as we lie about on the air.
For this Microsode, we answer the NEWEST, the FRESHEST, the RIGHT OFF THE PRESSES letter - one sent in mere hours before we recorded! Amazing. So fresh and so clean clean.
For those of you who couldn't be at Gen Con, next week's episode is a Trevor-edited recording of our Gen Con Live Episode! We hope it was a great success - at the time of this writing, we're still several days away from it, but we look forward to it with great anticipation.
For those of you on The Letters Page Patreon, we hope you'll join us on Friday, August 16th at 11 AM (Central Time) for our live recording of this month's Editor's Note! Those are always a good time. See you then! Or, rather, you'll see us then. You know what we mean.
Aug 06, 2019
Microsode #1, 2019
You thought we weren't doing an episode this week, didn't you?
Well, guess what... you're right!
And yet, what's this?!?!
Run Time: 6:58
Today is the first Tuesday of our two week of Gen Con hiatus. In today's Microsode, we answer the oldest question on the books! It's from a long-forgotten time - the distant and most ancient past. Wow!
We look forward to seeing so many of you at Gen Con! Come say hi!
As always, thank you for your continuing listenership and support, especially those of you subscribed to The Letters Page Patreon!
Jul 30, 2019
Episode #117 - Writers' Room: Freedom Four #88
Our first ever Writers' Room episode! We're going to make a story together!
Run Time: 1:39:55
Only a couple minutes in, we claim we're getting right down to work... and then we goof around talking about cuts of steak or something.
But then! We tell you what we're talking about, who's in the issue, and build the entire story of that issue out on the air!
After a LOT of work, we take a fun assortment of questions, starting around the 1 hour and 15 minute mark.
No episode next week or the week after, due to Gen Con. We hope to see as many of you there as possible!
Jul 23, 2019
Editor's Note #32
Run Time: 1:11:01
At the start of the show, we talk a bit of shop about possibilities for new formats of episodes. At the time of recording, the votes weren't in yet for next month's episodes, but there are now! So:
And here's our recording schedule!
Around the 7 minute mark, we start in on your questions on so many topics, such as:
Thanks to all of you listeners, to our Patreon supporters, and to our families, who never believed we could make any of this a thing but we did it anyway. Hah!
Jul 16, 2019
Episode #116 - Creative Process: Shear Force
We make stuff up - as we often do - but not really for Sentinel Comics!
Run Time: 1:23:20
We build out the world (and even a bit of the meta-verse) for the Shear Force property, as introduced in episode 102.
We get into the overview just before the 4 minute mark, and there we get down to brass tacks about figuring about just what IS Shear Force. There's an animated show, and there are comics, but most importantly, there are toys. This all definitely hinges around toys. We get REALLY into it. In retrospect, this feels a lot like the conversations we had when we were first creating Sentinels of the Multiverse, but also very different.
After a lot of creative nonsense, we answer a few questions, starting a bit after the 1 hour minute mark.
Thank you all for listening! We hope you enjoy listening to this at least half as much as we enjoyed doing the creative work.
This Friday, we'll be doing a live recording of this month's Editor's Note, so if you're on the Letters Page Patreon, we hope you can watch that, and possibly even join in if you're a Contributor. See you then!
Jul 09, 2019
Episode #115 - Wraith's Rogues Gallery
Let's get villainous!
Run Time: 59:09
After some mild goofs, we get into your questions, and you ask all the right things! Listen to learn more about so many villains we've never spoken about before, plus a decent handful that you're already familiar with!
Jul 02, 2019
Episode #114 - Create-a-Thing Live!
Good morning, everyone! Let's create Sentinel Comics content!
Run Time: 1:37:31
This live episode was fun! It moved in a way that we didn't expect - we got into Sentinels of the Multiverse card game content! How? What? Impossible! Right?
You'll just have to listen to find out! I don't want to say much more than that; I would hate to spoil the surprises.
Thanks to everyone who joined us live, and all of our supporters and listeners, like you!
Jun 25, 2019
Editor's Note #31
We take your questions. We give you answers. You know the deal. Or do you?
Run Time: 1:11:01
At the start of the show, we talk a bit of shop about possibilities for new formats of episodes. At the time of recording, the votes weren't in yet for next month's episodes, but there are now! So:
Then, at around the 12 minute mark, we get to your questions! We cover such exciting topics as:
Thanks as always to Trevor, our Patreon supporters, Sentinels fans everywhere, and listeners like YOU!
Jun 18, 2019
Episode #113 - The New Slaughterhouse Six
Remember, even this new team can't spell "Slaughterhouse" without the words "laughter". And also the word "louse", incidentally.
Run Time: 1:06:46
We start off with some birthday talk, then some eyeball talk, like you do.
Then, we actually do an overview just after the 5 minute mark! Don't worry, it's a VERY short overview. Then, we get right on to your questions at around 8 minutes in.
Your questions cover the line-up of the team, including original members like Glamour, Re-Volt, Desert Eagle, and Ray Manta, and new teammates such as Hippo and Kismet!
As always, thanks to all of our listeners, especially those of you on the Letters Page Patreon! Join us this Thursday at 10 AM, Central, for a live recording of this month's Editor's Note!
Jun 11, 2019
Episode #112 - Void Guard Follow-Up
Let's talk more about these powerful heroes!
Run Time: 1:10:07
This show is a follow-up to our longest episode ever! So, consider that required listening for what we're talking about here.
Adam's eye is ruined and he'll never see again, or something like that. I might be exaggerating here.
About 6 minutes into the episode, we go to questions, which are organized by character (after the first couple more general questions). We cover Dr. Medico, Mainstay, The Idealist, and Writhe, in that order.
Thanks to our (unwitting) sponsor, TheWyrmSuperior! Of course, so many thanks to Trevor for the great editing and producing and making this podcast possible, and also infinite thanks to all of you delightful listeners! We very much appreciate your support. If you're interested in supporting The Letters Page, check out our Patreon!
Jun 04, 2019
Episode #111 - Magic in the Multiverse
Let's get MAGICAL!
Run Time: 1:37:44
Let's answer a lot of questions about the how, what, and why of magic! And more!
As of this posting, the next episode (all about Void Guard) has already been recorded due to this weeks convention, but feel free to send in questions for the other episodes for the month of June!
Also, if you're at UK Games Expo this week, come by the Greater Than Games booth and say hi - Christopher will be there talking about all manner of games, though Adam is holding down the GTG fort in St. Louis and celebrating the tail end of his birth-month.
As always, you can support The Letters Page via our Patreon. Thanks for listening!

Editor's Note #30
An Editor's Note all about us being bad at Science!
Run Time: 1:24:11
Here's the upcoming schedule!
After only about 5 minutes of light goofs and scheduling, we get into your questions, which are mostly the very "well actuallies" we asked for. But we do have a secret surprise guest appearance in the second half of this Editor's Note! You'll just have to listen to find out more!
May 21, 2019
Episode #110 - The Death (and Return) of Anthony Drake
This episode is not just about death, it's also about failure! Creative failure!
Run Time: 1:15:41
After only a minute or so of goofing around, we actually do a very brief overview section, just to get you all caught up on the when and a bit of the why of this story.
But then! You have asked all the right questions, so we let the questions section handle the bulk of the actual storytelling. That starts at around the 4 minute mark.
Just so you know, the storytelling ends up being highly non-chronological, but we actually really like it that way. Ends up putting stuff in order of weight and importance, rather than publication order.
Thank you all to our listeners and supporters, especially those of you who support us on The Letters Page Patreon! Join us tomorrow, Wednesday, May 12, at 11:00 AM Central time for a livestream of this month's Editor's Note!
May 14, 2019
Episode #109 - Development Hell
Stories that NEVER HAPPENED?!!?!?!?!??!
Run Time: 1:12:53
We get to your questions right away, before we even hit the 2 minute mark. And we tell SO MANY stories that never were.
Thank you to all of our listeners, especially our Patreon supporters!
Get your questions for the Death of Anthony Drake (and anything else Prime Wardens related) in now!
May 07, 2019
Episode#108 - Lightspeed
Let's pick up the pace!
Run Time: 1:02:17
We get right into the story with this one, and actually have an Overview segment! It's been a while since we've had one of those.
After telling the story of the Lightspeed limited series, we get to your questions at around the 30 minute mark.
Thank you to all you wonderful folks who support the Letters Page Patreon! We couldn't do this without you.
Catch ya next time!
Apr 30, 2019
Editor's Note #29
We're gonna answer so many questions!
Run Time: 1:21:16
We do a lot of goofing around before we get to the schedule, but here's the schedule!
And here's what our calendar looks like:
You may note that the recording for Editor's Note #30 is happening on Wednesday the 15th instead of the following Friday. Adam is out of town the rest of that week, so we have to do the recording earlier than usual. Our Patreon supporters can watch/join in live!
Finally, we get to your questions starting around 11 minutes in.
We talk about such exciting things as:
Thanks to all of our listeners and Patreon supporters for making what we do possible!
Until next time, heroes!
Apr 23, 2019
Episode #107 - Temporal Targets: La Comodora and Chrono-Ranger
What were these two up to as they transcended time and space?!
Run Time: 1:00:32
We're a mess in this one, but it's probably still worth it! We goof around (and also explain why things are extra weird in this episode) for a few minutes before finally getting to explaining the purpose/angle of this episode, and then getting into your questions a bit after the 7 minute mark.
The questions are full of interesting ideas and fascinating queries... to which we have some unsatisfactory answers... but also several cool stories you've never heard before! Overall, we end up giving away and revealing more in this episode than we'd even intended, so, well worth it. The future is yours!
All of the Letters Page Patreon can catch us this Friday at 11 AM, Central as we record Editor's Note #29 live! Patreon supporters at the "Contributor" level can join in on the Discord, so we hope to have as many of you as possible there to chat with us about all manner of things!
Also, we'll have the voting for next month's episodes posted to the Patreon in the next couple hours, so look forward to that!
Finally, thanks to all you delightful listeners for helping us make this possible. See you next time!
Apr 16, 2019
Episode #106 - Fall of the Prime Wardens
An episode in which we get into some real talk about one of our most powerful teams of heroes.
Run Time: 1:05:34
With a minimum of banter - mostly due to the somber nature of today's undertaking - we get into the questions at the 2 minute mark. Speedy!
Then, in response to the very first question, we tell the entire story of the Fall of the Prime Wardens, from before the prelude through the end of the arc, and in fact the end of the Prime Wardens book. So, essentially, we do an entire overview starting a bit after the 4 minute point, just as a drawn out answer to a question.
After all of that, we get back to actually answering questions around 51 minutes in. Though we're certain there will be some follow-up questions for next month's Editor's Note.
The final question of the day raises an excellent topic for a future episode that would hopefully put things back on their right path again.
Can you forgive these heroes their flaws and inherent humanity? Only time will tell.
Thanks for listening! Catch you next time!
Apr 09, 2019
Episode #105 - Science of the Multiverse
Let's "learn" about SCIENCE!
Run Time: 1:29:37
Disclaimer! We are not scientists! Like, not really! That will become increasingly clear over the course of the episode! Even still, have fun!
After a fairly standard amount of goofing around, we finally get into your questions, starting just before the 4 minute mark.
Thanks to all of our listeners, especially our Patreon supporters! Catch you next week!
Apr 02, 2019
Episode #104 - Day in the Life: Unity
Let's talk about young Devra Caspit!
Run Time: 1:10:23
In the first couple minutes, Adam and Christopher make a wager against Christopher's wishes, but I guess that kind of thing is binding?
Then, we get into talking about Unity, what happened in her Day in the Life comic, and more!
Around 12 minutes in, we get to your questions, which take up the rest of the episode. And what good questions they are!
Thanks so much to all of you delightful listeners, and also to the very few of you who have chosen the path of undelightfulness - we support your decisions as well. Big thanks especially to our Patreon supporters. You make this all possible!
We've already recorded next week's episode, so tune in next week to hear all about the Science of the Multiverse!
Mar 26, 2019
Editor's Note #28
This Editor's Note has been released later in the day today, as we recorded it live this morning! Sorry for the delay, but we're all caught up now and back to our mostly regular schedule.
Run Time: 1:11:19
Here's the upcoming schedule!
And here's a photograph of one of our whiteboards! (It's the one with the recording/release schedule.)
Today, we talk about a lot of stuff! It can mostly be broken down into the categories of SCRPG related things, Fanatic and Ra questions, and Other Questions. Enjoy! Get your questions for Day in the Life: Unity, and Science in the Multiverse ASAP!
Mar 19, 2019
Episode #103 - Myriad
Temporary Show Notes:
Run Time: 57:57
This is the Myriad episode. A myriad of things are discussed (including a few spoilers if you haven't played the Urban Infestation one-shot)!
Mar 12, 2019
Episode #102 - Create a Thing LIVE
We make another thing LIVE! What kind of thing? Who knows?!
Run Time: 1:23:15
OK, look, we've gotta stall for a while, so it's a few minutes into the episode before we actually get down to brass tacks, but then we start making stuff!
We recorded this live in front of the Letters Page Patreon supporters, with many of the Contributors in the chat - you'll hear some of their names, as they were an important part of the creative process!
I don't want to spoil anything, so you'll just have to listen to the episode...
[spoilers incoming - don't look below this if you want to avoid spoilers!]
...but I will give you this quick sketch that Adam did right after the episode:
Shear Force vs the agents of K.U.D.Z.U.!
We'll catch you next week for Myriad!
Mar 05, 2019
Episode #101 - Time-Slinger
We're talking about a cowboy! Again!
Run Time: 1:04:34
No overview, because we did that in an episode two years ago! For reference, check out Episode #25 all about Chrono-Ranger here.
Then, we get to your questions and immediately go deep on literature, consciousness, reality... look, this one might get heavy. Besides, we have to talk about time stuff again, so, yeah.
The questions cover a lot of Time-Slinger stories, telling you what he's up to now, and also drops a couple of major story elements, one of which no one knows but CON.
A quick note about CON: both of us over the course of the episode use all kinds of pronouns for CON - he/she/it/they are all employed. That's partially because we're used to being cagey about giving answers on things, but we've already revealed the truth of CON in the past, so we should have been using "she" the whole time. Sorry for any confusion.
This Friday is a "Create a Thing LIVE", so if you're on the Letters Page Patreon, you can join us Friday at 11 AM, Central time!
Also, thank you to everyone for supporting us on the Sentinel Comics RPG Kickstarter. It did everything we wanted and more. We're blown away. Thank you.
Feb 26, 2019
Editor's Note #27
Let's do an Editor's Note mostly about Sentinel Comics: the RPG related stuff!
Run Time: 1:17:35
Hey, everyone! This was a fun one. Special thanks to all of the delightful Letters Page Patreon Contributors who were on Discord.
Welcome back to Trevor! He's back to being our full time editor - we loved having Zach for those weeks, but it's also great to have Trevor back.
Here's the upcoming schedule!
In this episode, we talk about a bunch of stuff, including but not limited to:
See you all next time for slingin'!
Feb 19, 2019
Episode #100 - Starter Kit Stories
Let's hear YOUR stories!
Run Time: 1:45:09
We're excited to get into our first official Sentinel Comics RPG timeline story! And it's one that many of YOU have played!
After talking a bit about life and the SCRPG Kickstarter (currently happening!), we get into an actual overview a bit after the 4 minute mark!
Important Note: this episode is FULL of spoilers for the SCRPG Starter Kit. If you don't want spoilers, walk away now. Save yourself!
We go through each issue of the starter kit adventure, explaining it from our point of view that way we have a frame of reference when we get to your questions.
Which we do at around 44 minutes into the episode!
Now we're at the most delightful part of the episode to us. Getting to hear what happened in your games is a real treat!
Also! This episode is the last one edited by Zach, our delightful and capable interim editor! If, after this episode, you miss Zach's calming presence like we do, fear not! You can find Zach in several places:
Thanks so much, Zach - we couldn't have done it without your help!
Some final things to share here:
And keep being such great heroes, everyone!
Feb 12, 2019
Episode #99 - Helfyre
Time to talk about a heavy metal band! Also, they're bad guys!
Run Time: 57:47
After only a few minutes of jokes, mouth music, and brief overviews, we get into the questions just before the 5 minute mark.
Then we talk about this band! Here are the members of Helfyre, from left to right in the sketch above:
Lots of great questions about these ridiculous villains. They're gonna rock you! But, like, not to sleep. To DEATH! But really, they're not killing their fans. Not actually. No profit in that.
Don't forget! The Sentinel Comics RPG Kickstarter is still going on - go check it out! And, as always, the Letters Page Patreon is a great place to get even more into the Sentinel Comics stuff we're doing!
Feb 05, 2019
Episode #98 - Post-OblivAeon Environments
Let's talk about the final five environments!
Run Time: 1:13:08
OK, so right off the bat, we get it terribly wrong. We claim that the SCRPG Kickstarter is live. When this episode goes live, that's not the case. The Kickstarter goes live an hour after this episode launches. We just did a bad job at thinking about time when we recorded this episode. Go us. That said, if you're listening to this episode right when it goes live, the SCRPG Kickstarter will go live around the 1 hour mark of this episode!
Moving right along, just before the 5 minute mark, we get into your questions, starting with questions about Champion Studios and San Alonso.
At around the 23 minute mark, we start in on questions about Fort Adamant and everything going on there.
A bit after 32 minutes in, we visit scenic Mordengrad! Such a lovely place. We dance with the goat!
Then, just after the 41 minute mark, we take a trip to the Nexus of the Void. Totally normal place. NBD.
And then, finally, shortly after the 57 mark, we get to Plavu'Col, the Maerynian Refuge.
The Kickstarter campaign for Sentinel Comics: the Roleplaying Game is live by now! Go check it out!
See you next time.
Jan 29, 2019
Editor's Note #26
Who won the Listeners' Choice Awards? Everyone!
Run Time: 1:16:57
We announce the winners of Funniest Episode, Worst Episode, Best Audio Production Episode, and Best Storytelling Episode, as well as Funniest Question, Saddest Question, Best Fan Theory Question, and Most Revealing Question! Who won? You'll just have to listen to find out!
After than, we talk about the upcoming schedule at just before the 35 minute mark. Here what we'll be talking about next month!
Here's a photo of our recording calendar:
Finally, around 37 minutes in, we finally get to your questions, starting off with a most grievous mistake on our part, unsurprisingly! But then moving on to many interesting topics.
See you all next time!
Jan 22, 2019
Episode #97 - Story Arc: Baptism by Fire/War of Heliopolis/Horus of Two Horizons
Let's talk about Ra... and friends!
Run Time: 45:11
After breaking down the plot to some movie or other, we actually do an Overview section! Bringing it back! Telling you what happens in Baptism by Fire, since you've already heard what happens in the War of Heliopolis limited series, as well as the Horus of Two Horizons one-shot.
Then, after a lot of issue-by-issue storytelling, we get to your questions just before the 25 minute mark.
Thanks to everyone, including our Patreon supporters, our producer Trevor, our interim editor Zach, and most especially listeners like you!
We hope to see you all on the Letters Page Patreon this coming Friday - January 18th - for the live recording of this month's Editor's Note, including announcing the Listeners' Choice Awards!
Everybody, everybody cut footloose!
Jan 15, 2019
Episode #96 - A Motley Crew: La Capitán’s Time-Displaced Teammates
Arrr! It be pirate time, mateys!
Run Time: 1:00:05
We get to questions right away and go through all of these scurvacious sailors of s...time?
The first question of the day ends up going in depth on every member of the crew, so that takes up the majority of the episode, but also gives you pretty much everything you want! Enjoy!
Many thanks to Zach Denoncour, our interim podcast editor! He's stepping in for Trevor for the next several weeks, and we're thrilled to have him aboard!
Look forward to next time, when things really heat up!
Jan 08, 2019
Welcome to 2019!
We did tell you that there was no episode on January 1st.
But, to be fair, you know that what we do on this podcast is tell lies.
That said, this is not so much an episode. Just a quick hello and thank you. Looking forward to 2019. Thanks to all of you for being a part of it.
Jan 01, 2019
Episode #95 - Happy Holidays!
Happy Holidays from Sentinel Comics to all!
Run Time: 41:13
We have a bunch of great questions today, so after only a few minutes of holiday lies, we get into those questions! And within those questions, we tell a few holiday tales. Enjoy!
(Also, many thanks to Matthew Bender for his delightful dramatic reading! You'll know it when you hear it.)
At the end of the episode, we finally reveal the schedule for January of 2019!
See you next year!
Dec 25, 2018
Editor's Note #25
It's time for the Letters Page Listeners' Choice Awards nominations announcement!
Run Time: 1:35:30
We have a special guest for this episode, and he makes the show even better!
We spend the first portion of this recording discussing the recently announced awards. Once you've listened to all of that - including the most excellent question nominations - it's time to vote on your favorites! Check out the voting form here.
After that, we SHOULD get to the schedule, but we're a week behind on that, so go to the Letters Page Patreon and vote on what episodes will start off 2019. So much voting! (The schedule for January 2019 will be announced in next week's episode.)
And then, after all of those things, we finally get to your questions with the help of our special guest! We start in on the questions at just after the 44 minute mark.
Only one episode left this year, folks! Join us next week for some holiday cheer!
Dec 18, 2018
Episode #94 - Disparate Reinforcements
Let's talk about all the heroes from the OblivAeon Mission Deck!
Run Time: 1:03:42
Only a few minutes of goofs and gags before we get to a brief overview! Then, just after the 4 minute mark, we're right on to your insightful and exhaustive questions!
The first question goes through ALL of the mission deck heroes, so that takes up the bulk of the episode. The question after that asks about the Be The Gate heroes, who cross over a little with the Mission Deck, but not entirely! Still, fair game.
We will be recording this month's Editor's Note live on Friday, December 14th, and we'll be going over your nominations for the Letters Page Awards then! If you want to be a part of that recording, check out our Patreon!
Dec 11, 2018
Episode #93 - Disparation: Inversiverse Dark Watch
From morally grey to just straight-up evil - what could go wrong?!
Run Time: 1:21:27
After the usual goofing around at the beginning, in a shocking change of pace, we bring back the Overview! There, we do some setting explanation to help place what's going on here, both in the world - or Multiverse, rather - of Sentinel Comics and in the metaverse, as well. We also talk about both Rook Cities. Two? Yes, two. But more about one than the other.
Then, we get to your questions right after the 12 minute mark. And, as has been the case with some recent episodes, we let the story happen bit by bit in the answers to your questions! Good questions, everyone.
Right after the 1 hour and 2 minute mark, Christopher's voice changes to a much more gravelly version. Here's a peek behind the curtain: we lost about 10 minutes of audio from the original recording of this episode. Something weird happened and it was gone. Fortunately, we had very good notes, and as soon as we got back from PAX Unplugged, Christopher and Adam re-recorded that section, and we're actually way happier with the way it turned out this time. Honestly, if we could just re-record every episode 3-5 times before putting the audio live, they'd be even better... but that's ridiculous. Anyway! Christopher's voice was pretty wrecked from the convention, as per usual, but you only have to hear it sounding so rough until around the 1 hour and 13 minute mark.
Thanks for listening, everyone! As ever, check out our Patreon for even more stuff!
Dec 04, 2018
Episode #92 - Perestroika
It's time for an episode about a pretty new team of villains from another era!
Run Time: 1:22:00
No overview today - it's straight to questions! No dilly-dallying, even! Right down to business!
Our first question is from the creator of the Sentinel Comics Wiki. Hats off to him - that wiki is useful to lots of folks, including us!
We go on after that letter with its many illuminating questions to more great questions from great question writers!
This week is PAX Unplugged, and much of GTG will be there, including Christopher, Trevor, and Maggie! If you're on the Letters Page Patreon, we've got an event going on Saturday evening: learn more here! We hope to see you there!
Nov 27, 2018
Editor's Note #24
Time for another Editor's Note! Lots of fun and announcements here!
Run Time: 1:23:48
First thing, after mild tomfoolery, we announce the first annual Letters Page Podcast Awards! Two categories, four awards each!
Awards for Episodes
Awards for Questions
Nominate episodes and questions using this form! Nominations are live until December 13th!
Also, here's the upcoming schedule:
And here's a photo of our calendar!
Not shown on that calendar is when we're recording episode #93. We're doing that first thing next week, so make sure you get your Inversiverse Dark Watch questions in by the end of this week!
Finally, after all of that, we get to your questions just before the 19 minute mark. In this Editor's Note, we answer questions about:
Nov 20, 2018
Episode 91 - Inversiverse Prime Wardens
A group of characters you know as heroes but in this other reality are far from it!
Run Time: 1:22:51
After some brief goofs, we give a brief overview of the Inversiverse and what we're talking about specifically today. Then, we get right to your questions at only 6 minutes into the episode!
Around the 14 minute mark, at the end of the first question, we get a request for pictures of each member of Perestroika for the upcoming episode. I put them on the Patreon, but available to not just Patreon supporters, but everyone! Check them out here.
The second question takes us on a journey through the story of Seraph, who ends up being way cooler than anyone expected. Why are your expectations of us so low? Give us some credit here, folks!
Whew! That's a lot of story telling! More questions give away even more, which is what we're here to do.
If you have any questions for the Perestroika episode, get them in now, as we're recording that on this Friday! And the voting for the December episodes is already happening on the Letters Page Patreon!
Nov 13, 2018
Episode 90 - NightMist & Harpy
Two of our favorite magical friends!
Run Time: 50:20
Hey folks! We're into the new format, and we're still having fun and revealing things that we haven't said before, so that's great!
After some nonsense times at the beginning, we get right into talking about where the stories we've told of these two land in the history of Sentinel Comics, plus also some other high-speed recapping!
That goes right up until it's time for your questions, about 8 minutes into the episode.
After many delightful questions, we actually do a now-rare future section just after the 45 minute mark. And there's a notable reveal there!
We've already done some restructuring over on The Letters Page Patreon, but there are more tweaks to come over the course of this month. It's easier than ever to jump into our community now, and we're excited to see folks join the Discord every day! Hope to see you there (but if you can't no worries - we still love you)!
Nov 06, 2018
Episode 89 - Something Wicked...
It's time for some terror!
Run Time: 1:07:21
OK, we do start off pretty silly, but don't worry, we get to questions in the first few minutes, and then we are very serious and very scary.
No, that's not true, the first few minutes of questions are still silly. But then! A scary story! In fact, spoilers, if you don't like scary stories, you probably want to skip the tale from roughly the 7 minute mark to just before 38 minutes in.
And then, on to more questions and stories!
Near the end of the episode, we talk about the arts that Adam has been doing and posting on his Twitter this month. They're all here on the Sentinel Wiki!
This is the last episode of October, so we read ALL of the names for the last time! Also, restructuring of our Patreon is happening later today, so look forward to that!
Oct 30, 2018
Editor's Note #23
Big stuff in this update! Letters Page AND OblivAeon!
Run Time: 1:55:58
We start off by talking about this very podcast! First, the format of the show itself: we'll be recording every Friday (barring scheduling conflicts) and we'll be putting out episodes on Tuesdays. This includes Editor's Notes, which will be recorded live for all Patreon supporters. Also, Extrasodes are going the way of the fondly remembered Interludes. Farewell, Extrasodes! Focusing this show down to the key elements. Each month, we'll have an episode every Tuesday, with the exception of the second to the last Tuesday of the month, which will be an Editor's Note. Makes sense? Good!
Next up, we cover the way that you can be a part of The Letters Page and support the show! The Letters Page Patreon is getting boiled down just to the important stuff as well. Thus, starting next month, there will be two Patreon levels:
We're excited to open up this community to more people this way, and also focus the show a bit, as well! Look forward to the Patreon changes next week!
Then, we get to the schedule for November:
After all that business, we get to your questions at around the 15 minute mark! And wow, do you have a lot more questions about OblivAeon!
At the very end of the episode, we mention that an expansion for Spirit Island is currently on Kickstarter! It's awesome! Go check it out!
Thank you so much for listening. We'll catch you next week for a SPOOOoooOOOoooOOOKY episode!
Oct 25, 2018
Episode 88 - The Art and Mechanics of Incapacitation
When the heroes are down and out, what's going on?
Run Time: 2:34:06
We're talking about every single hero character card twice over, plus every Vengeance/VotM villain character card, so we have a lot to cover today. As a result, we get right down to business!
Just before the 2 hour mark, we finally get to the villain character cards. Whew! So many cards!
At around two hours and 13 minutes in, we answer some questions! Your questions, in fact!
We've got an important Editor's Note coming up in two days - this Thursday, we do our OblivAeon follow-up Editor's Note, in which we also talk about how the Letters Page (and the associated Patreon) is changing! See you then!
Oct 23, 2018
Extrasode #7 - Casting the Voices of Sentinel Comics
Who sounds like whom?
Run Time: 1:39:09
The final Extrasode! Going out with a bang! This is a pretty interesting look at how we think about a lot of our characters. But, starting next month, no more Extrasodes. The time of the Extrasode has come to an end. More on that topic in next week's Editor's Note. (Which is being recorded live today at 11 AM Central - anyone on our Patreon can watch that live recording!)
We go through a bunch of casting for well over an hour (with unexpected help from the Irreplaceable Taffyman), and then we get to a few questions starting around an hour and 23 minutes in.
SPOILERS INCOMING! We recommend that you listen to the audio to learn who we would love to cast in each role, but here's a list (with a few post-recording notes):
Oct 18, 2018
Episode 87 - Sentinel Comics Animated Universe, Phase Two (Part 2)
Two shows and two movies! All totally real! (Note: this is yet another lie.)
Run Time: 2:17:59
We're excited to finally be getting back to the animated series for this episode! Lots to get through here.
We start right off with season 1 of the Prime Wardens show.
Around 29 minutes in, we get into the two movies after finishing the Prime Wardens show. Both movies! Two of them.
Then, just before 41 minutes in, we finally dive into the Dark Watch show, which takes a good deal longer than anything else. We clearly went a bit overboard on this part, but we were inspired!
Finally, we get to a few questions at the 2 hour and 6 minute mark.
More exciting episodes coming soon! Plus, if you're at the Contributor level on the Patreon, you'll be able to join us this Thursday morning for a live recording of a bit Editor's Note (which will be released in audio form next week). See you then!
Oct 16, 2018
Episode 86 - Burying the Blade
The final Baron Blade story of the Multiverse!
Run Time: 1:12:01
Sure, we are still the fools that mess around for the first few minutes of the episode, but then we get right down to the story! And what a story!! We go through all 12 issues of the Burying the Blade limited series, though not in a page-by-page way, so much as a "telling all the story" method.
Just before the 37 minute mark, we use the long-lost spoilers tag! There is spoilery stuff in here for the OblivAeon story, so if you want to avoid that info for a bit more, skip from there to the questions section!
Speaking of which, we get to your questions just after the 45 minute mark.
We'll be recording this month's Extrasode live on this Thursday morning, so if you're a Letters Page Patreon supporter at that level, come join us for that!
Oct 09, 2018
Episode 85 - Create a Story Live!
We take another stab at making a live story element! What are we going to make? We have no idea.
Run Time: 1:24:10
This episode is all over the place, as we intentionally did no planning, letting our creative process take us where it would... and it turned out pretty interesting! Listen on to discover a bit of world building as we craft it. (After we spend the first 6 minutes stalling...)
We get to live questions right around the one hour and 12 minute mark. These are all questions from the Discord chat, as questions couldn't have been written in for a topic that no one could predict!
At the end, we mention briefly that we're looking at doing some Patreon restructuring, which we are going to be doing at the end of October! This will be the last month of Patreon working the way it currently does - next month, it'll be different! We'll be talking more about that over the course of this month.

Episode 84 - OblivAeon, part 2
The end of the end... or is it?
Run Time: 2:14:02
We get right down to the brassiest of tacks! And it's a good thing, too - there's plenty to talk about, still!
We get to your questions about an hour and 27 minutes in.
Thank you all for listening through the end of the Multiverse! Catch you next month for the very episodes for which you voted!
Sep 25, 2018
Editor's Note #22
An Editor's Note for between the two OblivAeon episodes!
Run Time: 1:01:10
We answer questions NOT about the OblivAeon episodes! However, we will be talking about those in the next Editor's Note!
IMPORTANT NOTE! The morning that this episode is released, we'll be doing a live recording of a "create a story live" episode! It's happening, today, September 20th at 11 AM Central! The live showing will be viewable by everyone on the Patreon! Come join in!
Here's the upcoming schedule:
And here's the customary photo of next month's release calendar:
The bulk of the questions section of this episode is spent on various topics from the Vertex line of Sentinel Comics, but after that, we also go on to talk about a few other things, including:
We hope you can join us at 11 AM, Central today for our live "create something" episode recording! And look forward to part 2 of the OblivAeon story next Tuesday!
Sep 20, 2018
Episode 83 - OblivAeon, part 1
It's officially the beginning of the end.
Run Time: 2:16:09
We jump right into the story, not wasting too much time messing around as we often do. And! You get to hear hints of some new music! What could this music be? Only time will tell.
Initially, we go through snapshots of various events that lead up to OblivAeon. But, as we get deeper into the OblivAeon story, we zoom in more and more.
That said, it's half an hour into the episode before OblivAeon finally reaches Earth. And by that point, there have already been two major character deaths. Yikes!
Just past an hour and 51 minutes in, we get to some of your OblivAeon questions. More coming next week!
Upcoming cool event: on Thursday morning of this very week, we'll be doing a live stream for all of our Patreon supporters! We're releasing another "Create Something Live" episode in early October, and we're recording it on Thursday, September 20th, at 11 AM Central time. Only the Contributor level supporters will be in the chat, but the video will be available to everyone on the Letters Page Patreon.
Also, this morning, we're launching a Kickstarter for the great game Homebrewers. Go check it out. It's genuinely a blast.
Look forward to the second part of the OblivAeon story next week!
Sep 18, 2018
Episode 82 - Scions
The end of the beginning of the end. Or is it the beginning of the end of the beginning?
Run Time: 2:03:17
We start with important info: don't listen to this episode. That is, if you don't have OblivAeon yet, we think you should wait. Now, if you're cool about spoilers, then go for it. But there's a few big things in this episode, and it's only going to get worst as the month progresses. That said, we're shipping out more and more copies of OblivAeon every day, so you will have it soon!
So, after some chatting and disclaiming, we get into the overview of the scions' stories just before the 5 minute mark. And we start with a bunch of stuff about OblivAeon's backstory, in fact! This episode starts off FAST!
After going through all of the scions, we get to your questions - following the same structure as the scion overview - at around 44 minutes into the episode.
I'm not going to say more in these show notes. Like I mentioned above, some big reveals here, so you should listen and experience it yourself!
More on OblivAeon next week!
Sep 11, 2018
Extrasode #6 - Adam and Christopher Destroy the World
The most ill-advised episode ever.
Run Time: 1:28:25
As we quickly realize, us formulating and planning out ways to destroy the world or take over all the people or anything along those lines... makes for a pretty dark episode. We're definitely going on some watch lists now.
That said, a lot of the episode is caught up in arguing semantics and logistics. This is why supervillains frequently work alone. If they did work together, they'd be more likely to make a podcast or a bunch of games.
For those of you on the Letters Page Patreon, tomorrow morning the voting will go up for what episodes we will create next month! The topic submission stuff is up now, but today's the last day to submit topics that we'll look at for next month. Get ready to vote on September 7th!
Sep 06, 2018
Episode 81 - Multiverse Recap
Let's talk about... EVERYTHING.
Run Time: 3:03:21
This episode is the most info-dump episode we've ever done, but it's all gotta get out there. We're doing a lot of connecting the dots between stories we've told across all of the episodes leading up to this one. But there's still lots of story to be found here!
We jump right into it, digging in hard to the year by year of Sentinel Comics, since the beginning of the Golden Age.
Not really a lot to say in the show notes that we're not saying in the episode - we go through it all! You're just going to have to listen to find out more!
After 2 grueling hours and 16 arduous minutes of overview, we finally get to your questions.
As promised just after the 2 hour and 49 minute mark: Brian, here's that cover!
We have a brief future segment around the 2 hour and 56 minute mark, and then proceed on to a brief closing, including name reading. This month is just getting started, and it's already heavy stuff!
Thanks for listening!
Sep 04, 2018
Editor's Note #21
It's time for another Editor's Note that is turns out to be mostly about more shipping!
Run Time: 1:25:24
The September Schedule!
And here's the photo of the calendar on our wall!
You'll note that we're recording the first couple episodes for October well before the end of September. Adam's going to be out of town at the end of September/beginning of October, so we've got to get ahead on the recording schedule. For our Patreon supporters, the topic submission process will go up soon, and then we'll do voting early enough to make sure that people get a chance to submit questions for those episodes.
Topics we talk about in this Editor's Note:
Thanks for listening!

Episode 80 - The Incoming Storm: From the Mist Storm Universe to Prime War
This is a big one... in a lot of ways. But well worth it for what's to come.
Run Time: 3:11:29
You read that run time correctly - this episode is over 3 hours. However! It is only our second longest episode, losing to the Southwest Sentinels/Void Guard episode by 7 minutes!
That said, we cover a TON of stuff in this episode, so let's get right down to it!
We start off by going through the meta-verse of the publication company of Sentinel Comics. What led to the Mist Storm Universe? How was it handled and published in the world that Sentinel Comics were real actual comics? Who wrote these books and why? What sorts of decisions were made? We get INTO IT.
After revealing all that, including a name of a comics line that we've never said publicly before, we finally get into actually talking about the stories and timelines of the Mist Storm Universe at around 24 minutes in.
So! Then! Just after the one hour mark, after talking about the stories from several comics series, we get back into the meta, talking about decisions made by the publisher. That doesn't take too long, and after a bit of banter, we're into the stories of each of the books from those decisions.
Then we go BACK to the meta verse around an hour and 14 minutes in. Stuff is happening! Things are falling apart! Why? Well, that's what we're talking about! Listen on, dear friends!
From then on, we're jumping back and forth between in-comics stories and meta-publishing-universe stories right up until we get to the stories that end the Mist Storm universe.
At around an hour and a half in, we cover one of the big ending stories that we think you'll be excited to hear.
Throughout the episode, we keep saying things like, "oh, we'll get to that soon." Well, just after an hour and 41 minutes in, we get to the stories of those characters. Whew! It's a lot of stories about a lot of characters.
Around two hours and 23 minutes in, we get into the story of the Prime War limited series. Larger than life stuff, there.
Finally, at the two-and-a-half-hours mark, we finally dig into your questions. Though, we do speed through them, as we've already covered a LOT up to this point.
We do have a notable future section at 2 hours and 51 minutes in, which covers what titles come out of the Prime War series. More cool stuff there! This episode just keeps giving!
Then, just before the end of episode at around 3 hours and 4 minutes, we read all of the Patreon backers at the name-reading levels. Whew! A big finish to a big episode!
See you next week for another big episode about a lot of stories: the Multiverse recap episode!
Aug 28, 2018
Extrasode #5 - Sentinel Comics RPG Live Streams Postmortem
We had a great time playing the Sentinel Comics RPG on Twitch in July, and this Extrasode is all about how that went!
Run Time: 1:12:20
We recommend you watch the live streams before listening to this episode. Here they all are!
At the beginning, we talk about the stuff that Christopher and Adam have wanted to talk about this whole time but have not gotten a chance to go over yet, as the veil of secrecy between the GM and the players had to be maintained! But now, the fetters are loosed, and the talking commenced!
Then, around 18 minutes in, we get to your questions.
We finish with questions and wrap up with some discussion about what comes next just after the 1 hour and 5 minute mark.
See you this coming Tuesday for an episode about the MistStorm Universe... and how it ends! And more!
Aug 23, 2018
Episode 79 - Sentinel Comics Animated Universe, Phase Two (Part 1)
Let's pause on talking about fake comic book and talk about fake cartoons instead!
Run Time: 2:18:13
We covered Phase One of the Sentinel Comics Animated Universe in Episode 64 - now we're back to talk about Phase Two, but there's way too much to cover in a single episode if we're going to keep going into the contents of EVERY episode... and we want to keep going into all that! Thus, this episode is JUST about Season Two of the Freedom Five animated show. We will do a Part 2 episode when you fine folks on the Patreon vote on it, which I imagine will happen shortly!
We get right into all of that, right off the bat, and then about five minutes in, we dig into the first episode of the season!
Around the 1 hour and 43 minute mark, we get to your questions!
At about 2 hours and 10 minutes in, we go to the future section, in which we talk about the future of the Sentinel Comics Animated Universe (mainly the rest of Phase 2). Then, in the wrap-up, we talk about some important Future of the Letters Page business. You'll just have to listen to find out!
For those of your on our Patreon, voting just went live for the September Extrasode. Go let your voice be heard!
Tune in Thursday for an Extrasode about our recent Sentinel Comics RPG Live streams!
Aug 21, 2018
Letters Page Live at Gen Con 2018!
We had a thrilling Gen Con! And now, you get to listen in on how at least a couple hours of that show went for us!
Run Time: 2:00:35
We had an exciting musical guest this year: Jean-Marc Giffin! He's the composer behind all of the music for the Sentinels of the Multiverse video game by Handelabra, and lots of other great music as well! If you're one of our Patreon supporters, there will be a post on the Patreon later today with the music files for Jean-Marc's versions of the Letters Page songs, along with the original files for those songs, as we've never released them before and thought that now might be a good time.
The bulk of this episode is Q&A, though we do have an Overview and Future section! You'll just have to listen in to find out what we talk about.
Speaking of our Patreon, we'll be doing a live episode on Thursday morning of this week for our Contributors, so if that's you, come hang out with us at 11 AM, Central! During that live recording, we'll announce what we're doing for next month's schedule, and that'll get posted here next week! Exciting times are upon us!
Looking forward to getting back into the regular Letters Page schedule with all of you!
Aug 14, 2018
We just got back from Gen Con last night, and wow are we tired!
We are very eager to get back to recording, but for now, enjoy this tiny tinysode! Catch you next time!
Aug 07, 2018
We're at Gen Con doing setup and getting ready, so - as previously announced - there's no episode this week! And yet, we still recorded a minute and a half of explanation, just to tide you over. Thanks for listening, everyone! We're eager to return to our normal(ish) schedule soon!
-Christopher and Adam and Trevor and everyone else at GTG

Editor's Note #20
An Editor's Note just before we head off to Gen Con!
Run Time: 1:28:01
Here's the schedule for July!
And a photo of the calendar on our wall!
(It doesn't say that the month is August... but it is.)
Topics covered in today's episode:
Looking forward to seeing some of you at Gen Con!
Jul 26, 2018
Episode 78 - Golden Age Legacy Radio Play
We made a radio play! It turned out pretty dang awesome!
Run Time: 1:07:57
Just listen to the episode! It's got a lot going on.
All of the voices in the radio play are either Adam or Christopher, other than Ruby, who was voiced by the talented and most excellent Heather Reusz!
Around the 40 minute mark, we get to your questions!
This Thursday is this month's Editor's Note! Next week is Gen Con! We're excited to see you - and record an episode with you - there!
Jul 24, 2018
Episode 77 - Shipping: Love in the Multiverse
Let's talk about looooove.
Run Time: 1:19:00
A strange change in format today: after some mild preamble, we start of by getting into your questions, just before the 5 minute mark!
Then, we spend over a third of the episode on a single letter...
The questions cover the vast majority of the things we wanted to talk about today, so enjoy the process of us keeping up with you fine folks!
Spoilers: At around an hour and 9 minutes in, we talk about a Biomancer story. A bit of the recording was lost here, but the thing we talked about that didn't make it into the episode is that, after her death, the body of the woman we mention is enshrined in Biomancer's lair, and sometimes he makes fleshchildren to look like her, but he always destroys them because he cannot match her perfection. For all his "work toward perfection", he cannot match the perfection of his one true love. Also, he's super creepy. /spoilers
After that, our brief "overview" - which is more of a "let's fill in the couple things no one asked about" bit - starts about an hour in.
For our Patreon supporters, the voting is already up for the August episodes, so make sure your voice is heard! Get your vote in now!
Jul 17, 2018
Episode 76 - Cosmic Tales
We go out to explore SPAAAAAAACE!!
Run Time: 1:21:51
Right off the bat, we mention that the day this episode goes live, we're doing another live stream of the Sentinel Comics RPG! Come join us on our Twitch channel!
We then mention that our Patreon Collectors and Contributors can submit topics for August now. Check out this Patreon post about it!
At the two minute and 45 second mark, Adam realizes what we should name this episode. And lo, that is what the episode is now named. Let it be written.
Then, we finally get into space stuff.
The overview is mostly breaking down how space is used across the different eras of comics publication, and also how that all fits together to show the primary purpose of space in storytelling.
After that, we get into your questions just after the 12 minute mark, letting your questions about space shape the order we talk about the variety of space stories.
Questions spark us to talk about:
Around an hour and 14 minutes in, we talk a little about the future of space in the various worlds of Sentinel Comics.
And then we tease a bit more about Prime War before reading names and signing off.
Join us next week for an episode about love.
Jul 10, 2018
Extrasode #4 - Christopher and Adam Give (Fake) Legal Advice
First things first: we're not lawyers and no one should ever take our advice! That aside, we're gonna give advice anyway!
Run Time: 57:15
We start off with a bunch of disclaimers, because boy howdy are we NOT lawyers.
Then, we jump right into the lies.
The questions begin at five and a half minutes in.
Join us next week for an episode about EVERYTHING SPAAACE!!!
Jul 05, 2018
Episode 75 - Dark Watch Vol. 1, Issues #1-6
Diving deeply into 6 comic book issues!
Show Notes: 1:20:23
We start off by raving about a game we've been playing a lot lately... you'll just have to listen to find out!
Then, once we get down to brass tacks, as they say, we talk about a bunch of other comic books before we can even get to Dark Watch #1. But then, we do! And wow are there some twists and turns!
Around 47 minutes into the episode, we read your letters to you!
On Thursday of this week, we've got another Extrasode coming your way! We've already recorded it, and it's a weird one, but no Il Alimento, certainly. Whew!
Keep on saving the Multiverse!
Jul 03, 2018

Episode 74 - Daybreak
An entirely new team of heroes!
Run Time: 1:25:33
We start right in on the backstories of the heroes who will become the team Daybreak! Starting with:
Around 42 minutes in, we get to your questions!
Lots of good questions about the characters. At an hour and 14 minutes in, we get a question that leads to talking about the Principles of each of the members of Daybreak.
Another Sentinel Comics LIVE show today! Come watch us on our Twitch channel at 1:00, Central time!
Jun 26, 2018
Episode 73 - Young Legacy
An episode about America's Newest Legacy!
Run Time: 1:17:20
(Sorry about this one being 12 hours late - we ran into a technical issue this morning and had to do a bunch of extra work today to get this one up. Thanks for bearing with us, everyone!)
We begin with the history of Pauline Parsons in Sentinel Comics, starting with her first appearance in the '50s! We go on from there through the rest of her appearances, and how her story - and the story of the Legacy line - change across the decades of publication history.
Even given all that, we are treading Legacy stories you're at least somewhat familiar with, for the most part, so it's only a bit after the 23 minute mark that we get to your questions! And we start off with a "song". Yeah. Let's go with "song".
A little after an hour into the podcast, we mention the five members of the team "Daybreak". Here are those team members:
As we talk about around the one hour and thirteen minute mark, earlier today was the first ever episode of Sentinel Comics LIVE! It went great, and we had a decent pile of folks show up to watch! (Here's the videos saved by Twitch. They got broken into part 1, part 2, and the bulk of it in part 3 for some reason. We'll be uploading the whole thing to our YouTube account in high quality at some point soon.) Join us next Tuesday at 1 PM Central.
Also, if you're a Letters Page Patreon supporter, the voting for July's episodes is up now! Go and vote - let your voice be heard!
Jun 19, 2018
Extrasode #3 - Story Meets Mechanics
An Extrasode about how story and mechanics work together in Sentinel Comics games!
Run Time: 2:01:27
Another extrasode attended live by our Patreon Contributors! Do you want to be a part of our next live recording! Join us on the Letters Page Patreon!
We officially move on to the submitted questions around the 17 minute mark, though we answer a couple questions from the live chat before that.
Finally, after we have talked about all manner of story and mechanics interactions, we talk about the near future of Sentinel Comics - and I'm not talking about the stories from the comic books. Around an hour and 50 minutes in, we explain the plans for OblivAeon, the Letters Page, the Sentinel Comics RPG, and more. There's a lot going on with Sentinel Comics, and we're taking some time to make everything go together correctly.
Thanks for listening!
Jun 14, 2018
Episode 72 - Xtremeverse
EXPLOSIONS! POUCHES! LOUD NOISES! It's time to get EXTREME!!!
Run Time: 1:52:54
Today's episode is so ridiculously off the chain. There are also lots of actual chains.
We tell a bunch of EXTREME stories. It gets BRUTAL. This isn't your DAD'S episode!
Really, buckle in, kids - things are about to get WICKED SICK.
In the first ten minutes of the episode, we knock out one of the most BADASS stories you've ever heard... and we're just getting started!
We get to your TOTALLY BADICAL questions just before an hour in.
Jun 12, 2018
Episode 71 - Superpower Sources
How do the heroes and villains do what they do?! Let's dig into that!
Run Time: 1:24:26
We start off with an overview section that's based on the character creation system from the upcoming Sentinel Comics RPG! We go through each of the "Power Sources" from that system and talk about how they relate to the rest of Sentinel Comics.
Around 30 minutes in, we get to your questions, which end up being the bulk of the episode!
This week, we're recording 3 episodes again, as Christopher is out of town next week for Origins. (If you're there, come say hi!) On Thursday, we'll be recording the X-treme Verse episode! On Friday morning at 11 AM Central, we'll be recording the Story Meets Mechanics Extrasode! It'll be a LIVE recording for the Contributors on our Patreon, and everyone else on the Patreon will get access to that video shortly after the recording is done. Then, later that same day, we'll be recording the Young Legacy episode!
Make sure you get your questions in for those three episodes before then!
Thanks for listening!
Jun 05, 2018

Episode 70 - Sunrise
A story of the Dawn!
Run Time: 1:47:18
We get deep into a major story from the history of Sentinel Comics
Right off the bat - after only a few minutes of tomfoolery - we kick off this whole event with the story of Freedom Five #595.
Then, we dig into each and every issue of Freedom Five and the also the weekly limited series that are all part of the Sunrise event.
Around an hour and 15 minutes in, we get to your questions.
In a couple days, we'll release an Editor's Note with the upcoming schedule for June!
Got questions for us? Submit them here!
Want to be a part of the Letters Page? You've got options over on our Patreon!
Thank you for listening!
May 29, 2018
Episode 69 - The Inverted Universe
A world where the heroes are villains and the villains are heroes! Wacky! But then, these foes don't look so much "wacky" as they do "actually really evil"...
Run Time: 1:40:37
We get right into it, which is good, because we have a lot to cover today!
In the 3rd minute of the podcast, Adam claims that by 1988, the movie The Land Before Time had been released some time ago. Turns out, it was actually released November 18, 1988. So, pretty close!
Then, we get into the Disparation stories set in the Inverse Universe.
Around fifteen minutes in, we introduce the team of ne'er-do-wells pictured above. Villainous!
Just before the 44 minute mark, we start talking about how the Inverted Universe starts talking about how these stories in issues of Disparation change the future of Disparation books!
Then, right after the 47 minute mark, we get into your questions!
In the future section, starting around the 1 hour and 32 minute mark, we talk about not just the future of Disparation, but the future of the Letters Page, as well! This even includes an interesting SPOILER. The Inverted Universe changes so much!
As mentioned at the end of the episode, we're recording the Sunrise episode this Thursday, so get your questions in by then. Additionally, we're recording Editor's Note #18 on Friday morning (which will be a live recording for our Patreon supporters at the Contributor level), and then recording the first episode for June later that day. The topic for that episode is "Superpower Sources".
So, the Sunrise episode will be released next Tuesday, which is May 29th; Editor's Note #18 will be released Thursday, May 31st; and the Superpower Sources episode will be released Tuesday, June 5th.
May 22, 2018
Episode 68 - The First Behind the Scenes Episode!
We create something without any preparation! Will we make a hero? A villain? An environment? Something else entirely? We don't know yet!
Run Time: 1:47:26
We recorded this episode live with the help of our Patreon Contributors! The episode is much better than the live recording, as Trevor has cleaned up the audio and also cut a bunch of dead time when we were just reading the chat and things like that. Still, if you want, you can watch the live video here. Want to be a part of our future live episodes? Check out our Patreon!
After some explanation and laying of ground rules, we start our collaborative brainstorming about 4 minutes in.
Around the 22 minute mark, we finally figure out what it is that we're talking about, and begin crafting the mythos of that story.
We dig into questions from both the submission form and the Discord chat starting a bit after 56 minutes in.
The future segment begins at around an hour and 34 minutes.
At the end, I mistakenly say that we're recording both the Inverse Universe episode AND the Sunrise Story Arc episode on Friday of this week. Nope! Just the Inverse Universe episode. However, next week, we'll be recording Sunrise, Editor's Note #18, AND the first episode for June. What's that first episode? We don't know yet, but the voting for what episodes we'll do next month will be up on our Patreon today, so keep an eye there!
Thanks for listening!
May 15, 2018
Episode 67 - Disparation Freedom Five
Delving back into Disparation stories!
Run Time: 1:15:06
Who are these people? Where do they come from? What is their story? Listen on to find out!
After a few minutes of goofs and introductions, we get into the actual content of Disparation, Vol. 1, Issue 24!
Just before the 38 minute mark, we get to your questions!
This Friday, we'll be recording our "Behind the Scenes" episode, which will release next Tuesday. But for those of you on our Patreon, you'll get the video of the experience by the end of day Friday! And if you're a Contributor-level supporter of the Patreon, you'll get to watch and participate LIVE!
May 08, 2018
Extrasode #2 - The Food Podcast
"Il Alimento" Episode #192
Run Time: 1:18:30
Our fourth annual Pasta episode. Chef Adam and Chef Christopher discuss pasta sauces, vegetables in pasta, and address the gnocchi controversy. They also answer questions from Il Alimento subscribers, and even read a few celebrity chef letters.
Eat well, my friends.
“Under The Sun of Italy” by Rossano Gentili
May 03, 2018
Episode 66 - Legacy Supplemental
We're back to the very beginning! Revisiting the Legacy story from our very first episode.
(This art is the pencils Adam did in 2010 for Legacy which were then scanned in and inked and colored to make Legacy's first character card art! Adam will probably hate that I used this art, but it's good to see your roots.)
Run Time: 1:28:45
We start off by talking about the weirdness that is this coming Thursday's Extrasode.
Then, just before 6 minutes in, we finally get into the history of Sentinel Comics portion of the episode that takes up the bulk of the overview.
After all that, around 36 minutes in, we get to your questions!
Right off the bat, 40 minutes in, we get a question about where the heck do Legacy's powers come from. AND WE ANSWER IT. FULLY AND HONESTLY. SURPRISE.
At the hour and 21 minutes mark, we get to the future section.
This was a fun one for us to return to. Thanks for listening!
May 01, 2018
Editor's Note #17
Another live-recorded Editor's Note!
Run Time: 1:09:14
I'd recommend listening to the podcast over watching the video, as the audio quality is MUCH better, and Trevor does a great job with editing and producing. But here's the video!
Get your Legacy and Food Extrasode questions in now!
Topics we talk about today:
At the end, we talk about our outtakes post, which we posted to the Patreon yesterday! Go check it out. Marvel at our mistakes!
You're all great!
Apr 26, 2018
Episode 65 - NightMist's Little Black Book of Monsters
A whole book of creepy crawlies and the evil that lurks in the darkness!
(No, not the book in that picture. A different book.)
Run Time: 1:46:28
Lots of fun stories and mythology in this one!
We start off with where this book shows up in the history of Sentinel Comics.
Pretty quickly, we get to your questions! Just after 6 minutes in, we're already going into the Questions segment, and we use that to guide the stories from the Diamond Book of Monsters.
And then, A bit after the 10 minute mark, we're in on our first long-form story of this episode. Buckle-up!
After wrapping that up, we dive into another long story, starting a bit before the 28 minute mark. Zoom!
Then, we get into more question and answer type stuff, but we do reveal a lot more mythology of the dark corners of the Multiverse!
There is even a future segment in this episode! Starting around an hour and 36 minutes in, we discuss the future of the Diamond Book of Monsters.
We're recording an Episode AND an Extrasode this coming Friday! Get your questions in now for the Supplemental Legacy episode and the Food podcast Extrasode by the end of day Thursday, April 26th!
Thank you as always to all of our listeners and supporters!

Episode 64 - The Animated Series, Season One
Let's get animated!
Run Time: 2:29:40
There is a lot of stuff in this episode! The first season of the SCAU (Sentinel Comics Animated Universe) is made up of 26 episodes and a movie, and we get into ALL of that!
We talk about the episodes for over an hour, going pretty in-depth on many of them.
At around an hour and 28 minutes, we start in on the movie.
Then, at the one hour and 51 minute mark, we get to your questions.
Also! A future section, about two hours and 21 minutes in!
Voting on topics for May is up now on the Patreon! Vote and help decide what happens next on The Letters Page!
Apr 17, 2018
Episode 63 - Progeny
The dread scion! It only exists to exercise the will of OblivAeon!
Run Time: 1:20:24
We start off with an overview of when and how Progeny first showed up in the pages of Sentinel Comics, starting with the Freedom Five book.
Just before the 18 minute mark, we briefly get back into the debate of "does Progeny's head blasting off into space look cool." Spoilers: there is no real resolution to this argument.
Just after 19 minutes in, we get to the Progeny origin story, which is told in the pages of Prime Wardens, Vol. 2, after that first Progeny story.
Then, just after the 24 minute mark, Progeny goes to space! A cool K.N.Y.F.E. and Captain Cosmic story is told.
We start in on your questions 30 minutes into the episode.
Don't forget, the Sentinels of Freedom video game is currently live on Kickstarter! Go check it out!
Patreon supporters: we'll be posting the topic submission form today or tomorrow and then voting will go live next week! We'll post the details on all that on the Patreon page.
Have more questions about Progeny? Sent them to us here!

Extrasode #1 - The GTG Origin Story
The first ever Extrasode!
Run Time: 2:14:54
These were intended to be for Patreon supporters only, but we polled them, and they voted overwhelmingly in favor of making them available to all Letters Page listeners! That said, we did record it live with interactions from our Contributors, and then shortly after recording it, we posted this video for Patreon backers, so they got it first! Now, the episode goes live for everyone!
This Extrasode is probably more serious than most will be, but it's still a lot of fun. We go deep into the history of how we met, how we starting making stuff together, and how that ended up being Sentinels of the Multiverse and Greater Than Games!
Christopher is at PAX East right now, and Adam is about to fly to the UK! If you're at PAX East, find Christopher and say hi! If you're in the UK, go find Adam - he's around there somewhere!
Apr 05, 2018
Episode 62 - Disparation Dark Watch Team
We're talking about these so familiar and yet so different heroes!
Run Time: 1:21:26
Welcome to April, and a whole new format! The next 3 months will feature different types of episodes than what you're used to, but they're going to be great! Interested in having input in what we talk about? Check out our Patreon! That's the best way to get involved in what we're doing here with the Letters Page.
We jump around in time a bit to start off, but then! We actually lay out the history of a book we've only hinted at before and never directly quoted or defined: Disparation! Disparation Volumes 1 and 2, at that!
Then, after telling all that backstory and even going briefly over a few other Disparation issues, we finally get into the story of this alternate reality Dark Watch.
Just a minute before the one hour mark, we get into your questions!
Thanks so much for listening!
Also, the Sentinels of Freedom video game is live on Kickstarter now! Go check it out - we're seriously excited about all of the storytelling we get to do with this project!
Get your questions in for the Animated Series and NightMist's book of monsters!

Editor's Note #16
Our first ever live recorded Editor's Note! Here's the video!
Run Time: 1:07:42
OK, first thing first: the video quality is AWFUL. But! We're working with Trevor to make it better in the future!
As we mention in the first few minutes, we didn't yet know the upcoming schedule when we recorded, but since then, the voting has concluded! Here is the final tabulation of all three polls combined:
So! Given those votes, here is the upcoming schedule for April!
Now, please submit questions for the Animated Series and NightMist's Monsters episodes, but we're recording the Disparation and Progeny episode today and tomorrow - as well as the GTG Origin Story Extrasode - as we're both traveling the first couple weeks in April.
Also! Extrasodes were going to be Patreon-exclusive content, but I polled the Patreon backers and they were pretty keen on them being for everyone, so that's happening! However, the videos of the Extrasodes and Editor's Notes will be made available to Patreon supporters as soon as they're created! And Contributors can even watch and interact live, just like they did for this very Editor's Note!
OK, back to the business of this Editor's Note.
Topics we cover today:
And more topics that came in live from our Contributors!
Looking forward to the new format starting with next episode! A hearty thank you to all of you fantastic listeners, and especially to our Patreon supporters!
Mar 29, 2018
Episode 61 - Grand Warlord Voss
One of the most terrible villains of the Multiverse is here! Tremble before Grand Warlord Voss, Earthlings!
Run Time: 2:13:34
We get right into it by talking about the first appearances of Thorathians in the history of Sentinel Comics.
Then, we jump to the 60s to introduce Grand Warlord Voss himself!
After that, the next divergence is talking about space stuff - the space race, space exploration, and the wonders of space as a genre, so to speak.
Then, finally, we actually get to the origin and backstory ofRainek Kel'Voss! Which takes a while. About as much time as everything leading up to that. Reasonably!
Just after 35 minutes in, we get to the mid-80s, and stuff starts getting intense. Big stories. Big meta-information. Big reveals. Everything's big.
Whew! What a wild ride! OK, right, moving on. Almost halfway through the episode - a few minutes before the one hour mark - we get into your questions.
There are LOTS of great questions that make us dig into more of the story of Grand Warlord Voss and the Thorathian people. We answer almost all of your questions!
We get into Thorathian naming practices at around an hour and 43 minutes in! Fun stuff, there.
At 2:04:40, we do the quickest future section we've ever done!
See you Thursday for an Editor's Note!
Mar 27, 2018
Episode 60 - Prime Wardens
A team that is sometimes extreme, but is always awesome.
Run Time: 1:54:19
Our Patreon is running smoothly already, thanks to so many of you! As a result, this week, we'll be recording our upcoming Editor's Note LIVE for those of you at our Contributor level. Afterwards, the video will be posted for our supporters over on the Patreon.
Anyway! Prime Wardens!
We start off by digging into some of the specific dates of the history of Sentinel Comics - we use the historical landmarks of where these heroes came from as a framework for the bulk of this episode. This is by far our most historically accurate episode.
Starting just after the 12 minute mark, we zoom in on the story of the very first Prime Wardens story. We go on quite awhile just about this one big story. It's a very cool story, if I do say so myself.
Around 33 minutes in, we get into the Fall of the Prime Wardens story.
We talk about the re-formation of the team and the second volume of the Prime Wardens book around the 41 minute mark.
At 45 minutes in, we get to your questions, starting with questions about the entire team!
We get a little EXTREME around an hour and 9 minutes in.
Our future section today starts just after the one hour and 43 minute mark. There's a lot of interesting details in there, including a return of the SPOILERS! If you are avoiding spoilers for the story content of the SCRPG Starter Kit, you'll want to skip from 1:45:45 to 1:47:55.
Don't forget, at noon Central Time today, join Adam, Maggie, SaRae, Craig, and me on our Twitch channel for the hero character creation for our upcoming Sentinel Comics Live show! (And Paul will be there in the chat!) We're going to figure out how all this video stuff works!
Mar 20, 2018
Episode 59 - Tempest
The long-awaited episode for one of the first heroes from Sentinel Comics!
Run Time: 3:29:10
Our longest episode yet! It is astounding to me that an episode about one character ended up longer than our previous longest episode, the Southwest Sentinels/Void Guard episode, about 4 characters who make up two teams with major changes in there. But, then again, hardly surprising that Tempest takes so long to cover - really speaks to just how much is going on in the Tempest story.
We cover the three major phases of Tempest's life:
There are lots of things going on in each of those phases, but that's a fair way to break up the stories of Tempest. Be sure to tune in next week when we talk more about the whole team of the Prime Wardens, and the week after when we talk specifically about Tempest's primary nemesis: Grand Warlord Voss! There are a good bit of Tempest stories that we don't get too into in today's episode, as they belong in the Voss episode much more.
Just after the 52 minute mark, (that's right - we cover the entire overview in less than an hour!) we get into your questions! And there are a lot of them. You folks asked about all the things!
At around an hour and 16 minutes into the episode, we get asked a question that results in a deep dive into the biology of the Maerynian people. I know a lot of people have been wondering about this stuff for a LONG time.
An answer to a question just under two hours and 40 minutes in that gets us into a discussion of what we've done to make Sentinel Comics feel like "real" comics. Then, we go on to give a preview of the sort of thing we'll be doing in the OblivAeon episodes! At least, we go down a rabbit hole that is certainly the type of discussion that will be happening in the OblivAeon episodes.
Just after the two hour and 50 minute mark, we finally get to the character of Leviathan... who we give a quick overview for, but don't get into too thoroughly. Want more? Perhaps we'll do another episode later!
We finish your questions and go to the future section at just after three hours in. It's a quick one!
Ooh, and a big reveal at the end of the future section! I wonder what the implications of that will be...
Finally, the major announcements! They begin at 3:05:31. I'm not putting all that info here - I want you to hear it the way we present it in the episode, not just give you a wall of text. However! I will say, you should definitely check out the changes that are going live later today on our Patreon!
Thanks for bearing with us through this whole episode! See you next week for an almost certainly shorter episode about more characters!
Mar 13, 2018
Episode 58 - Environments of Power
One way or another, all of these environments house some great power... let's talk about them!
Run Time: 1:42:54
We dig into the last of the environments - they only sort of go together in this episode, but they're all important parts of Sentinel Comics!
Lots of cool story bits for each of those places!
Next week is the long-awaited Tempest episode! Get your questions in using the submission form by end of day Thursday, March 8th!
Aaaand, finally: our Patreon is now live! Go check it out! We'll be adding Patreon exclusive behind-the-scene content all the time, including a livestream happening within a few hours of this episode going live!
Mar 06, 2018
Episode 57 - Iron Legacy and Alternate Realities/Timelines
One of the most important heroes of Sentinel Comics is also one of its most terrible villains. Today, we cover the Fall of Legacy.
Run Time: 1:50:40
In the first few minutes - after a bit of nonsensical side-tracking - we get right into the appearances of Iron Legacy in the history of Sentinel Comics. With that, we also tell some of the historical elements of the Young Legacy story, as that's a necessary part of the story setup.
And then, things start getting really spread out. Good thing we've got your questions to help figure everything out! We get into your Iron Legacy questions right around the fifteen minute mark.
We cover how Iron Legacy can be "stronger" than Legacy, various art elements, what's going on with other heroes and villains in the Iron Legacy timelines, and even more odd food analogies for how we deal with time and reality and such, and more!
We are forced to take an emotions break around 45 minutes in. Then, we get back to more cheery Iron Legacy stuff. Yay?
Then, around eight minutes after the one hour mark, we get into alternate reality and timelines questions! Way more positive stuff!
Get ready for topics about alternate versions of lots of heroes and villains, Disparation stories, outside reality/time, and a few other things - we're all over the place.
Around an hour and 20 minutes in, we reveal our true, secret goal behind everything we've done for the bulk of the last decade... So now you know!
A bit after that, we get into possibly the most delightful segment we've ever done - the Animal-verse! Warning: we get REALLY silly.
Before wrapping up, we talk a bit about environments!
Last, but certainly not least, we mentioned our new Patreon last week, and we're putting more stuff up on it over the course of this week! We're looking forward to making this show even more awesome with your help!
Feb 27, 2018
Editor's Note #15
An Editor's Note about Time and Space!
Run Time: 1:12:33
We cover two primary categories of topics in this episode: TIME and SPACE!
Also, at the very end of this month, we're launching a Patreon! Help us keep making The Letters Page, and be a part of the podcast yourself! We'll be putting more information here as we get closer to March.
Next week is Iron Legacy and other alternate realities! It's going to be a lot of ups and downs...
Feb 22, 2018
Episode 56 - Miss Information
Lots of Fake News in this episode. Where is it all coming from?
Run Time: 1:42:15
Let's go back to the 50s! This episode starts with story from very early on, and then works its way up through the end, slowly but surely.
After fifteenish minutes of establishing backstory and world stuff and some goofs, we get into the villainous stuff.
Then, we spend a bunch of time in the aughts! I don't want to spoil too much in the show notes - you'll just have to listen to find out what happens!
A bit before the hour mark, we get into your questions!
We get into fan-saltiness around the 1 hour and 25 minute mark. A lot of questions and stories lead up to this, but the fan backlash due to the Sentinel Comics choices resonates with us strongly. We've all been there!
In a couple days, we'll have an Editor's Note with the upcoming schedule for March, as well as more exciting questions, answers, and some exciting news! See you there!
Feb 20, 2018
Episode 55 - Parse
Parse has keen arrows, but a far more keen eye!
Run Time: 1:30:53
We don't spend any time dillying or dallying in this episode! In fact, this may be most "content per minute" episode we've ever done - just jam-packed with the story of Parse through the years of Sentinel Comics!
We start off in the 80s, including a bunch of information on how various titles are being treated then, laying the groundwork for Parse's origin.
Just after the 6 minute mark, we mention that the Iron Legacy and Alternate Realities/Timelines episode is coming up on the recording block in a few days - get your questions in now!
Around 12 minutes in, we introduce a character we've never talked about before... and within a couple minutes, you learn why he's never come up before.
The high-speed rate of reveals continues, right up until the start of the Miss Information story around the 20 minute mark... but then we clam up. Don't want to spoil next week!
Even more publication history oddities around 23 minutes in, covering her origin yet again and setting up why Parse is in space so much.
A bit after the half hour mark, we talk a bit about OblivAeon, and how the appearance of that cosmic, singular entity alters Parse and her story.
Then, just after 34 minutes in, we get to your questions!
The questions do a great job, as per usual, of further digging into Parse's abilities and story. Strong work, everyone. One of you even made Adam laugh so hard that we had to pause recording momentarily!
In the future segment - starting around the one hour and 25 minutes mark - we talk about a few important things, including a reveal of where she's ending up in the Sentinel Comics Universe!
Whew! There we go! That one seemed fast, but it was still 90 minutes of non-stop Parsing! See you next week for an episode and an Editor's Note! Also, later this afternoon at 3 PM Central time, Christopher will be doing a livestream over on the OblivAeon Kickstarter page! Come hang out!
Feb 13, 2018
Episode 54 - Supernatural Settings
The most settings ever covered in one episode!
Run Time: 2:11:34
This episode is all about the weird and magical environments from the world of Sentinel Comics!
An important note: There are a few spoilers in this episode for the story of the issues included in the Sentinel Comics RPG Starter Kit. If you want to avoid a minor spoiler, skip from 1:31:20 to 1:32:04. From 1:43:45 to just before 1:48, we do get into a few more notable story spoilers, so listen at your own peril. Or skip that chunk of time, if you want to experience the story in play. We specifically mention incoming spoilers, so you have at least a heads up.
As much as this is a settings episode all about environments, this episode also covers a lot of characters who are important to the world of Sentinel Comics. Enjoy!
At the end of the episode, we mention that we were going to be recording the upcoming Parse episode between when we recorded this episode and when it aired. Due to some scheduling conflicts, that didn't happen, but we will be recording the Parse episode tomorrow (Wednesday, February 7th). So, you still have a few scant hours to submit Parse questions! Also, we're recording Miss Information's episode as well this week, so get those questions in now!
(Last thing! Next Tuesday, February 13th, at 3:00 PM Central Time, I'll be doing a live stream test on the OblivAeon Kickstarter to cover a bunch of Kickstarter and OblivAeon related things. Come hang out!)
Feb 06, 2018
Episode 53 - The Operative
She's a smoooooth operator!
Run Time: 1:12:59
New intro on today's episode! Trevor's trying out something different! What do you think? Tweet at us and let us know: @SCLettersPage
After some light silliness, we get right into her not-very-light backstory.
We reference two other episodes a few times in this episode: the Mister Fixer episode, and The Chairman episode. They're both important to this one, so worth giving a quick listen to, though we do rehash a lot of the important points from both of those episodes.
Lots of things to talk about with this lady. She's had quite a few twists and turns in her story. The overview in total is under half an hour, but it's jam packed with story and action! Plus, there's even more story that we saved for some juicy questions in the Q&A portion of the show.
Speaking of which, just after the 27 minute mark we dive into your questions.
Fun bit of Stuntman story a bit before the hour mark. Just so you know.
We start the future segment right after the 1:04 mark. We have more Mist Storm Universe stuff than usual for her, as she plays some important roles and for reasons we've never publicly discussed before!
Then, we go on to actually reveal some Sentinel Comics Universe story stuff that is also brand new information. We must be feeling generous.
Next week is the Supernatural Settings episode, featuring such bizarre environments as Madame Mittermeier's Fantastical Festival of Conundrums and Curiosities, Tomb of Anubis, Realm of Discord, Nexus of the Void, and (relevant to this episode) the Temple of Zhu Long. Get your questions in now!
Jan 30, 2018
Editor's Note #14
The first Editor's Note of 2018!
Run Time: 56:49
Topics of today's Editor's Note:
And the promised photos:
With the posting of this episode, you have less than 24 hours to get in any questions about The Operative! Ask your questions about her and the above upcoming schedule characters and topics!
Jan 25, 2018
Episode 52 - Time Travel Settings
All of the wibbly-wobbly places! Times? Both!
Run Time: 1:01:25
In this episode, we cover the particularly time-travel related environments from the world of Sentinel Comics:
For each of those locations (times?!), we first give an overview, and then use your questions to dig deeper into the stories of that setting.
Next week, we'll be talking all about The Operative, so get your questions in now!
Jan 23, 2018
Episode 51 - Greazer
You didn't even know that you wanted an episode on an intergalactic bounty hunter, and yet, here we are!
Run Time: 1:23:43
In the first five minutes, we devolve into roleplaying as our own characters, so that sets the tone for this entire episode. You're welcome?
After that, we get to Hero in the Arena #1, the true first appearance of Greazer.
But the bulk of today's overview segment is the discussion of the book "Greazer", which we go over page-by-page of the first few issues. The secret history of Greazer Clutch!
45 minutes into the episode, we get to your questions!
During those questions, we realize that tomorrow is the 1 year anniversary of The Letters Page! Hooray! Space Champagne for everyone!
Then, just after the one hour and 18 minute mark, we wrap up by talking about the future.
See you next time!
(Send us your questions about The Operative!)
Jan 16, 2018
Episode 50 - Sky-Scraper
An episode that towers head and shoulders above all others! Or does it stand as an ant among giants? Only you can tell!
Run Time: 1:20:17
We start off by confessing our sins and solving a notable problem... or at least hinting to that problem's solution. But that allows us to move forward with Portja Kip-Pro's story!
(Which we start by pointing out a problem raised by the Kaargra Warfang episode, and then solving it. We're problem solvers!)
But then we're back on track!
Stories include, Hero in the Arena, Under Cover, the Return of Vengeance, and so much more!
Then, we get into your question 33 minutes in. Lots of interesting info in the questions, today!
Next week is Greazer! Get your questions in now!
Jan 09, 2018
Welcome to 2018!
Happy New Year!
Starting off this new year with a quick 2017 retrospective!
First thing first, we're pushing the schedule we announced last week back by one week in order to take a chunk of time to reset and reconcile all of the tangled webs we have weaved. Woven. Woved.
Anyway! The upcoming schedule now looks like this!
Thank you all for being such a big part of what we do here. We're excited to do even more for and with you here in 2018.
Jan 02, 2018
Editor's Note #13
Another thrilling Editor's Note! This one has a Special Guest! We're pretty excited. You'll just have to listen to find out who it is!
Run Time: 1:03:28
Topics of today's Editor's Note:
See you next year!
Dec 28, 2017
Episode 49 - Kaargra Warfang and the Bloodsworn Colosseum
To celebrate Boxing Day, let's talk about the fighters in the cosmic arena! (Yes, yes, we know that Boxing Day has nothing to do with the pugilistic sport of boxing.)
Run Time: 1:07:06
After only a couple minutes of jawing about the holidays, your intrepid hosts get right into the history of the Bloodsworn Colosseum in the pages of Sentinel Comics.
Around the twelve minute mark, we finally tell an integral part of the Tony Taurus story.
Then, on to more and different tales of the Bloodsworn!
We start in on your questions a few minutes before the half hour mark. And we start off with a true and proper backstory!
And then, around the 34 minute mark, we talk about a thing we messed up.
A few minutes before the hour mark, we tell the backstory of a character you've seen before, but never heard of! She's a piece of Sentinel Comics history!
Next week is Sky-Scraper, so get your questions in now! See you Thursday for an Editor's Note all about the Cosmic Contest.
Dec 26, 2017
Episode 48 - Cosmic Settings
Let's talk about all manner of places in the Sentinel Comics galaxy!
Run Time: 1:45:33
In today's episode, we cover a few notable Cosmic Settings:
With only going over four environments in this episode, we have enough time to really get into each of them. We go through them in the above order, answering your great questions on each setting as we cover that environment.
The cosmic place we talk about the least this week is the Bloodsworn Colosseum, which is the topic of next week's episode! Send in your questions now!
Dec 19, 2017
Episode 47 - Cosmic Contest
A Contest of Cosmic proportions!
Run Time: 2:46:41
Whole lotta story going on today! Who will win? Only time will tell! I mean, actually, we're gonna tell you. In this episode.
The show notes today would be pretty spoilerific, so I'm just going to give some useful timestamps here. The whole thing is story, so just listen to it!
After a few minutes of banter and overview, we cover what all of the tiers and brackets contain, and then get right into going through each of the fights in Round One.
Coverage of Round Two begins at around the one hour and 8 minutes mark. The fights start getting more intense now!
We begin Round Three right before the one hour, 40 minutes mark. Everything's really heating up now! This round determines the winner of each tier!
With those winners determined, we move on to the Quarter Finals at an hour and 52 minutes in, with the last characters standing from each tier facing the winner from the opposing tier.
The Semi-Finals begin at 2:02:12. Just two matches here and then it's time for the finals!
The Final match to win it all begins at the two hours, 11 minutes mark. Whew. What a contest!
We dig into your questions around two hours and 20 minutes.
Did you win? As we discuss around 2:37:37, if you submitted a winning entry, let us know at firstname.lastname@example.org!
See you next week!
Dec 12, 2017
Episode 46 - Captain Cosmic & Infinitor
We're back with an episode about brothers!
Run Time: 2:14:22
It's been a month since we last recorded and we're thrilled to be back! We are also very excited about the release of the Starter Kit for Sentinel Comics: the Roleplaying Game! So many thrilling things.
Also! This episode goes live the morning of Tuesday, December 5th. The deadline for getting your Cosmic Contest entries to us is tomorrow, Wednesday, December 6th! Very exciting.
Let's get into the episode!
(Many apologies for terrible British accents this episode.)
We dig into the origin of Captain Cosmic, talking about the history of the brothers Lowsley and how Hugh got cosmic powers and Nigel just disappeared...
Then, we're off to space to fight space threats! We go over a few of them before getting into the big stuff with Infinitor! It takes us 28 minutes to get to the reveal that Captain Cosmic and Infinitor are brothers... which has been common knowledge in this world since the release of the characters, but was a much bigger reveal in the pages of Sentinel Comics.
Then we're back into space for more space stuff! Including spending a lot of time on Dok'Thorath.
After all that, about 43 minutes in, we actually start to get into the OblivAeon event itself. We're saving most of that for the OblivAeon episode, but Captain Cosmic and Infinitor both have too much going on in the OblivAeon event to not cover that stuff now.
And then, finally, just after the 52 minute mark, we get to your questions. Lots of questions!
Finally, due to a question, we actually get into Infinitor's origin story. This happens around an hour and 11 minutes in.
Then continuing with so many more solid questions.
Just after the hour and 41 minute mark, we get a question about just how OblivAeon shards work. Whoof. That's a big one. Some explanation here. Perhaps some reveals? Either way, it's big.
At an hour and 53 minutes in, we plug the official GTG online community. They're great! Go hang out with them!
At 2 hours and 9 minutes in, we go to the future.
Interesting things going on with Captain Cosmic's powers in both timelines!
Thanks for listening! Next week is Cosmic Contest!
Dec 05, 2017
Editor's Note #12
An editor's note! About Things! So many things.
Run Time: 1:11:18
Topics of today's Editor's Note:
Don't forget, the deadline for getting your Cosmic Contest entries in is Wednesday, December 6th!
Nov 30, 2017
Episode 45 - Biomancer
A creepy podcast about a creepy fellow, indeed!
Run Time: 1:04:32
"We make things up and then are surprised when you like them."
We start off with the first appearance of Biomancer in Sentinel Comics, and then get into the deeper truth behind who Biomancer really was. The truth is out there! And it's in this episode, too.
We cover Biomancer's overview in under fifteen minutes. It's your questions (starting about 14 minutes in) that bring out all the really interesting stuff. This episode is on the shorter side, but that makes sense, given how little time Biomancer spends in the spotlight.
Right after the 32 minute mark, we get into a MAJOR story reveal. One of the things we've been sitting on forever. You'll know what episode to ask your follow-up questions in when you hear what we're talking about.
Around 43 minutes in, we get a question that leads into a Tachyon story that we greatly enjoy. Time for another "Christopher and Adam talk through a comic book page by page" type story!
Then, around the 50 minute mark, we talk about the crossover with the Widow's Walk expansion to the game Betrayal at House on the Hill. Some creepiness ensues.
And then weird stuff happens at the end of the episode! I don't remember any of this.
Editor's Note in two days! If you have a burning desire to ask questions, ask them about Captain Cosmic and/or Infinitor!

Episode 44 - Blood Magic
An episode on the vital essence of most living things in Sentinel Comics!
Run Time: 1:25:30
(A quick note on run times - I've been asked to stop listing the minutes in just minutes for episodes that take over an hour, thus the new format! Just to be entirely clear, the first number is the number of hours, the central number is number of minutes beyond that hour, and the last number is the number of seconds beyond those minutes.)
The overview portion of today's episode covers a lot of topics!
Right off the bat, we recommend you check out the Deadline/Lifeline episode, as it has some Blood Magic hints.
Then, we get into the Blood Countess and the Court of Blood.
Then, you might think we'd get into Hermetic, but first we have to go down a weird rabbit trail first about time and then about spices and flavoring. Oh, and then alchemy.
After all that nonsense, it's Hermetic time! And what a time it is...
Finally, about at the 23 minute mark, we get into your questions. That's right - the vast bulk of this episode are the questions you fine folks asked about blood. You're welcome.
56 minutes in, we're asked to tell the story of Lifeline in the Court of Blood. So we do!
At the one hour and eleven minute marl, we're asked about werewolves... and we deliver!
8 minutes later, we talk about future stuff.
Thanks for listening!

Episode 43 - Urban Settings
This is our very first settings episode, in which we talk about environments and locations from the world of Sentinel Comics!
Run Time: 113:16
In today's episode, we cover Urban Settings such as:
We start off by doing a quick rundown of each of these locations, and then we get into your questions! The Q&A portion of the episode begins about seven minutes into the episode.
In the Megalopolis section, we answer a couple questions about banners seen in that fair city in the Sentinels of the Multiverse video game backgrounds. In answering the second of these questions right after the 32 minute mark, we reveal the truth about just what Funny Bunny means. Behold!
Then we go on for well over half an hour about a bit more Megalopolis stuff, and then on to Rook City questions.
Around the 72 minute mark, we move on to San Alonso, the Maerynian Refuge, and finally Mordengrad!
Thanks for all the great questions!
Nov 14, 2017
Episode 42 - Spite
Of all the villains we've talked about so far, this one is possibly the most evil.
Run Time: 113:40
To reiterate what we mention in content warning at the very start of the episode, you might not want to listen to this episode with your kids. Or, at least, pre-screen this episode for content. Spite's pretty awful.
In this episode, we reference both The Wraith's episode and GloomWeaver's episode. They're both pretty important to what's going on here, so you should probably check them out, if you haven't already.
We start the question segment just after half an hour into the episode, but we spend the first couple minutes just talking about Spite before actually reading any of your questions. Yeah, that sounds like us.
A bit after 45 minutes in, we talk about a misleading quote on a card and how the flavor text actually comes from a much earlier comic than the art depicted on a card, and why we did that thing. Not an error! But it sure looks like one.
A couple minutes after the hour mark, Christopher reads the longest letter we've ever received. No, that is not a challenge. Don't try to beat this letter. Please. We almost canned this letter just based on length.
Send us your questions about environments!
Nov 07, 2017
Episode 41 - Wager Master
An episode about a nonsensical character who has too much power for anyone's good!
Run Time: 103:16
Right off the bat, we talk about Cosmic Contest - want more info? Listen to last week's Editor's Note!
Then, right off the bat, we hit the ground running with the story told in Wager Master's first appearance in Sentinel Comics!
From there, we cover many other Wager Master stories. He's such a scamp! Also, terribly evil, mostly through forcing people to play his dangerous and destructive games.
We begin considering your questions about 44 minutes into the episode, starting off with us getting an issue number wrong, once again. Can you trust anything we say? Unlikely!
And then we're back to even more long stories. That's what we do! This may be our most "stories and stories and stories" episode so far.
The future section begins a bit after the 95 minute mark, and in it, we finally reveal the names our two primary post-Multiverse realities!
Next week is the long-overdue Spite episode. Happy Halloween!
(Did anyone catch the two-word cameo early on in the episode?)

Editor's Note #11
Yet another Editor's Note on all manner of things!
Run Time: 88:39
Topics of today's Editor's Note:
Also! Here's a link to the Legends of Sleepy Hollow Kickstarter. Worth checking out! We both like the game a bunch.
The day after this Editor's Note goes live, we're recording the episode about Wager Master! So, get those Wager Master questions in now or forever hold your peace.

Episode 40 - Guise
Our first episode with a special guest, invited or otherwise!
Run Time: 109:14
Our long awaited Episode 40 is here, and wow is it a strange one!
We'd like to apologize right now for being so mean to Guise in this episode. He took us by surprise. We don't deal with being surprised by wise-cracking shapeshifters in our recording space very gracefully, apparently.
We take our time with the Overview segment this time, as we've got a bunch of stories to tell that don't really come out in the card game other than in little hints here and there. Also, we cover quite a few stories in the more in-depth, line-by-line way. No spoilers as to what we're talking about here, though! Gotta find out by listening! Anyway, as a result, we don't get to the Questions segment until a few minutes past an hour into the episode. Whew!
Lots of good questions! From lots of great people!
We get called out about not being good at counting pool balls in a question just before 71 minutes in. Yup, we goofed.
Then back to more story-related questions! Of which there are many! Also, lots of "how the heck does Guise do [blank]" questions. Fair, fair.
A minute or two before the 90 minute mark, we get a question about the Celestial Tribunal and their view of Guise and The Scholar. It's one of my favorite little glimpses of Guise from an outside perspective. Just throwing that out there.
At just past the 103 minute mark, we close the Question section with a short but very good letter, and then jump into the future section, in which Guise takes the wheel for a brief moment and essentially goes off-roading. We get it back on track pretty quick, though. Mixed metaphors, galore!
Thanks so much for listening! We've got a hefty Editor's Note this coming Thursday, and then we'll be recording the Wager Master episode on Friday, so get your Wager Master questions in now!
Oct 24, 2017
Episode 39 - The Scholar
A pharmacist, an apothecary, a teacher, and more! It's The Scholar!
Run Time: 101:36
Everyone should go to Adam's Halloween party. Except Christopher.
There are a lot of rabbit trails in today's episode, but that's mostly because The Scholar's story does a fair bit of wandering. Also, it features some depressing bits, so we wander to keep from getting too down.
Fastest transition to the Questions section ever! We end the Overview segment only 8 minutes in!
At the 11 minute mark, we field a Powerhound question about us messing up published issue numbers again. And! To be fair! We did mess it up. *sad trombone sound* But not entirely! That's worth something, right? Right? Look, we give a slight hint about a Sentinel Comics RPG Starter Kit as a result, so hopefully that makes up for it.
Finally, right around 25 minutes in, we get into the proper tale of The Scholar's backstory. His way-back-story, really. Buckle up!
Just after 34 minutes in, Adam claims that a "soda" is a "tincture". It is not. Oh well. You don't listen to this podcast for medical advice/terminology, do you? Gosh, I hope not.
We finally get back to your questions at the 47 minute mark. Whew! Longest answer ever! Over 20 minutes?! What were we thinking?!
Right after 50 minutes in, we reveal the true origins of the thing that became The Scholar's Philosopher's Stone. Ominous!
Just before the 66 minute mark, we drop the biggest lie of all! Please don't think we were being serious! We definitely weren't!
Right after that, we get into another big story - another progression of The Scholar's story. Bit by bit, we'll get through this whole thing!
A little after 76 minutes in, we get back into the topic of Progeny's head flying through space. Cool: y/n? You decide!
The question we get an hour and a half in reveals a bit of story involving The Scholar, Guise, and even OblivAeon! This is a big story that we don't fully explain... got questions? Sure you do! Ask them here before Friday, October 20th and we'll follow-up in the next episode!
See you next week!
Oct 17, 2017
Episode 38 - Apostate
Like last week, another character with wings and a sword! Unlike last week, this one's a villain!
Run Time: 108:51
Much like the Fanatic episode, we recommend not listening to more than the first 5 minutes of this episode if knowing the truth of Fanatic and Apostate would ruin the characters for you. We do brief overview type stuff before getting into the dark truths of Apostate, but after that, all bets are off. Next week, we'll get away from all this stuff and dig into a character who has had his hands in more of the Multiverse than you might assume!
Around 9 minutes in, we accidentally do a preview of what the episode on Biomancer will sound like. I'm so sorry.
Just after the 24 minute mark, we learn that Adam doesn't care for Christopher's singing. Jerk.
49 minutes in, we get to your questions!
A bit after the 90 minute mark, Christopher attempts to craft an analogy using gelatin. It goes poorly. Everyone ends up the worse for it.
Lots of great info in this episode - we hope it further explains what's going on with Apostate, Fanatic, and [redacted].
Join us next week for The Scholar! Get your questions in now!
Oct 10, 2017
Episode 37 - Fanatic
It's everyone's favorite avenging angel!
Run Time: 86:49
This is a big one, folks. Not a super long one, but a big one, nonetheless.
The first sixteen minutes of the podcast are focused on covering who Fanatic is, how she grew up, how her powers manifested, and a couple of her early notable stories. Then, we give a notable disclaimer that I'm going to reiterate here: if knowing the nitty-gritty truth of Fanatic would in some way ruin the character for you, stop listening after the 16 minute mark. Just call it a day and pick up with another episode. Probably not next week, as that's Apostate, so we'll be going even deeper into divine spoilers territory, but the week after that is The Scholar and then Guise after that, so those are fair game. Anyway, point is, you have to decide for yourself if you want to know Fanatic's truth better than she does, or if you want to keep living by faith alone. Up to you.
I'm keeping the show notes pretty brief today, so as to not put any spoilers in the text for folks that are choosing to skip the rest of the episode.
About half an hour in, we start talking about blood magic and vampires, and end up covering a bit of Court of Blood business as well. Bonus info in this already info-filled episode!
We get into your questions at the 36 minute mark. Lots of great questions this episode! We do our best to not let you down with our answers.
If you have questions about Apostate or The Host, get them in now! We're looking forward to answering them when we record on Friday!
Oct 03, 2017
Editor's Note #10
It's the first ever Editor's Note! This is where we fill in the corners and answer any lingering questions.
Run Time: 49:15
Topics of today's Editor's Note:
With the posting of this Editor's Note, you have under 24 hours to get in your Fanatic questions! Not to worry, though, we already have well over a hundred Fanatic questions received so far...

Episode 36 - La Capitan / La Comodora
Avast, ye mangy bilge-rats! It's about time for some temporal piracy!
Run Time: 119:15
Managed to keep this one just barely under 2 hours! Sorry about last week!
We start by announcing that Interludes are dead - long live Editor's Notes! They will be about the same, but we'll no longer do Thursday episodes with in-depth story content, such as the Slaughterhouse Six Interlude.
As promised a bit after five minutes in, here's the chart we drew up about Maria Helena's appearances in time:
For those who cannot read my handwriting (and, let's be honest, I can barely read it), down the left side of the image are the various stages of Maria Helena:
Then, there are 9 points in time listed (with red words) along the timeline (the blue line). Those red labels, from left to right are:
This chart will only be somewhat helpful without listening to the episode itself.
Many apologies for the confusing nature of time travel. Fortunately, we're following her story from her point of view today, so that should make it a bit easier. Maybe!
Also, in this episode, we reveal a comic book series that has always been a part of Sentinel Comics, though not used in quotes on cards in Sentinels of the Multiverse, due to being non-canonincal. That book is called Disparation. It plays an important role in this episode.
Around the 48 minute mark, Adam succinctly sums up how La Comodora combines all Hakas into two Hakas, as discussed in the Haka episode. Here's another version of Adam explaining that event:
Worth a thousand words, right?
This episode is pretty evenly split between overview and questions. We get into the Q&A portion pretty close to the halfway point, around 51 minutes in.
Lots of time travel shenanigans in the questions, and some pirate voices as well.
Just after 71 minutes in, we get new limericks from the challenger, Arcanist Lepus!
Around the 88 minute mark, we get a question about Chiquito that ends up leading to actual explanation of how La Paradoja Magnifica works. Spoilers: it has nothing to do with anyone eating a strange alien monkey creature.
We get a question 97 minutes in that result in us telling the story of the Black Spot variant of La Comodora. Void incursions abound!
At around an hour and 51 minutes in, we get a suspicious question about a bunch of alternate reality characters seen in one of La Capitan's deck, and we talk a bit about each of those heroes and where they come from.
And then we're done! Possibly the shortest future section ever in today's episode.
See you Thursday for the first ever Editor's Note!
Sep 26, 2017
Episode 35 - The Southwest Sentinels / Void Guard
Let's talk about the Southwest Sentinels! And then Void Guard!
Run Time: 198:12
This is our longest and strangest episode ever. By far. In a lot of ways. Our fault for doing an episode about four different characters covering two teams. Also, no interlude this Thursday - we packed everything into this one episode.
Knowing that this episode would go long, right off the bat, we ask Trevor to get aggressive with the edits. And yet, still, this episode is so many hours long. What happened? Oh geeze. We're sorry?
So, we mention in the first few minutes that last week we had a huge spike of new listeners on Wednesday. That Wednesday was our highest download day of all time. What?! Why? If you're a new listener who joined us last Wednesday, let us know where you came from, please! Tweet at us here, or e-mail us at email@example.com. Let us know what brought you to The Letters Page! We're excited to have all you fantastic listeners, old and new alike!
Then we start going blow by blow through the pages of the Southwest Sentinels comic books.
After the 27 minute mark (once we're into the second issue of Southwest Sentinels), we talk about a character named Night Snake. Here's the sketch (as promised around 28:30) of that character who never made it into the canon of Sentinels of the Multiverse, even though he was a part of Sentinel Comics.
And then, we're on to Southwest Sentinels #3!
At 45 minutes in, we do a bit of foreshadowing for the power origin description that we don't actually get to until the question section MUCH later. (Like, over an hour later.)
Just after 70 minutes in, we end the Southwest Sentinels book, do a bit of transition story, and then start up the Void Guard book. It's not enough that we're doing an episode about four different heroes, we're also talking about two different hero teams!
We finally begin the Q&A portion of the podcast after an hour and a half into the show. And we have a TON of great questions. Buckle up, everyone!
97 minutes in, we finally begin actually explaining the origins of the powers of Doctor Medico and Mainstay, and how that origin connects to what else is happening in the pages of Sentinel Comics. This is a big reveal that has additional ramifications as Sentinel Comics moves forward into the future.
Then, around the 110 minute mark, we dig into the real story behind The Idealist! Finally! In retrospect, it shouldn't have surprised us that this episode ended up over three hours long, given how much we're covering here, and how many big reveals there are. But still. Whoof.
So many questions about so many things!
Around the 175 minute mark, we promise to show off Writhe being creepy. So, here you go!
Finally, after 190 minutes of episode, we get into the future section and talk a bit about what the futures could hold for Void Guard.
Whew! That was a long episode! Did you make it through the whole thing? We barely did!
Get your questions about La Capitan / La Comodora in now!
Sep 19, 2017
Interlude 9 - Slaughterhouse Six
A team of villains, led (sort of?) by Ambuscade! Let's learn more!
Run Time: 92:50
This interlude is pretty much just an entire episode. Yes, we're aware we need to revisit what we're calling interludes. We'll explore that on next Thursday's... whatever it is we call it. But, yeah, this has a ton of story, including some major reveals!
We start off by talking about Ambuscade, Re-Volt, Desert Eagle, Ray Manta, Magman, and Glamour. We do some backstory and overview stuff. Then! It's time for your questions, which we kick off by digging into the biggest reveal of the whole Slaughterhouse Six story.
The questions are mostly organized by character, but they do jump around a little bit. You'll figure it out - I believe in you!
About 72 minutes in, a conspiracy theorist leads us down a twisting trail of what the future will hold with AI and such. Christopher reveals his secrets. Some of them, at least.
Upon this episode going live, you still have a few hours left to get in your questions about The Sentinels/Void Guard!
Sep 14, 2017
Episode 34 - Ambuscade/Stuntman
Ansel G. Moreau is a famous movie star! He does his own stunts!
Run Time: 123:04
Shockingly, this is the longest episode we've ever done! Man, that Ansel G. Moreau really loves to steal the scene.
We apologize right off the bat for the quality and quantity of bad French accents in today's episode. We're so, so sorry.
After the Ambuscade story stuff in the first 25 minutes, we get into a fun Mainstay and Ansel story that both Adam and Christopher end up having too much fun with on the air. It takes almost as much time as everything else that leads up to just that one story.
40 minutes in, we get into spoilers for OblivAeon territory, but we're just spilling the beans now! Have we spoiled that info before? We don't know... but we're doing it anyway! This episode is full of ups and downs.
Then, we get right into your questions! Of which there are many!
In the Q&A portion, we talk a lot more about Ansel G. Moreau's film career, his connection to RevoCorp, and indulge in a decent amount of listener-meta-silliness. All told, a fine time.
When we get into the future section, we spill some spoilers, but don't really tag them. Just putting the future story stuff right out there! If you want to avoid RPG spoilers, maybe skip from 117:45 to 119:35.
See you in a couple days for the Slaughterhouse Six interlude!
Sep 12, 2017
Episode 33 - Haka
Our big friendly fighting friend... it's Haka!
Run Time: 102:01
We get right into it on this one, as we've got a lot to talk about. Within the first few minutes, we're already into the backstory of Aata Wakawarewa!
As a result of us digging right in, we manage to get through the Haka overview, from backstory to OblivAeon, in 25 minutes! On to your questions!
We had a lot of fun in the Questions section, because we got so many great questions! Haka has a lot of great stories, and we're happy to recount them.
Shortly after the 75 minute mark, we have our first call out of the episode to any of the strange meta-question nonsense things that goes on in these episodes. And shortly after that, we dive right into the nonsense.
After that dip into silliness, things start getting a bit more serious, and the questions and answers after the 80 minute mark start a turn for the worse.
Around 88 minutes in, we read a question that leads to the answer of "how the heck is Haka doing what he does?" We go into the complete answer here, but we intentionally leave out who is behind all this. We will reveal who that is... soon.
At the 95:30 mark, we begin a Spoilers section! Don't listen if you don't want spoilers for the end/branching point of the Haka stories! You can safely begin listening again at 98:45.
Next week, we'll be releasing both an episode AND an interlude! The episode is all about Ansel G. Moreau, AKA Ambuscade AKA Stuntman, and the interlude will be about the Slaughterhouse Six! We're recording that episode and interlude on Friday, so make sure you get your questions in by the end of day this coming Thursday, September 7th.
Sep 05, 2017
Interlude 8 - Post-Gen Con Wrap-up and Retrospective
We are still exhausted from Gen Con, but let's talk about how that show went!
Run Time: 39:44
Christopher and Adam spend the first 7 minutes of the show just talking about how Gen Con went, especially the Letters Page Live panel. Spoilers: it went REALLY well.
Just before the 5 minute mark, Christopher forgets the name of the musical instrument he played at the Letters Page Live panel. It's the melodica, dummy.
The bulk of this interlude is getting to the questions that we brought to Gen Con to answer live, which are mostly general questions about both the world of Sentinel Comics and even this show.
Shortly after the 10 minute mark, we have a question for our producer Trevor! We had intended on asking this question live when Trevor was there in the room with us, but instead, he was kind enough to record an answer separately. But we cannot allow him to release all of our secrets!
On to the schedule of upcoming episodes!
So much thrilling content on the way! And look at all those interludes!
As we mention in this interlude, we've already recorded the Haka episode, as Christopher is currently in Seattle for PAX Dev and PAX West, but all the other episodes on the schedule need your questions! Send us your questions!
Aug 31, 2017
First Annual Letters Page Live, from Gen Con 2017
Want to hear what happened at Gen Con 2017? Here's your chance!
We had a blast at our first live episode of The Letters Page! We couldn't have asked for a better audience. So many fun things! Also, if you'd rather see what happened in this Letters Page Live episode, check out this video!
Besides the entire gang of Adam, Christopher, Trevor, and even Paul, we also were graced by the presence of Christopher's brother Anthony, who wrote and performed the "Christopher and Adam reading letters to you" song. Anthony added a lot to this live episode.
Now, on to the few actual show notes for this episode!
Run Time: 118:33
First thing first! As Trevor mentions in the intro to the episode, there are a lot of spoilers. We're not going to tag them all individually. Just know that wading into this episode means getting into SPOILERS territory!
Next, you'll notice that Christopher's voice sounds more awful than usual. He used it up by the end of the first day of Gen Con. What you hear is all he has left. But he still somehow made it through the entire two hour episode, more or less.
About four minutes in, Christopher lays some ground rules. These apply to all Letters Page questions ever, actually!
1. We don't have favorite heroes or villains. Stop asking.
These rules all apply to us as well, and we do our best to not break them.
I'm going to put notes here whenever Anthony plays a song, in case you want to navigate straight to the music bits. The first one starts at 8:12.
After that, Christopher, Adam, and Anthony talk about the "history" of the song. Mostly because we were all so blown away by everyone at the panel singing along. Even the high parts.
And then we actually start getting into questions, reading a couple of questions that we printed out in advance for the panel, just to get things rolling.
Another musical interlude! This one starts at 18:10.
And then we got into questions from people at the panel. The line of people asking questions was... notably long.
The second person in the line was dressed as Spite. Which was very creepy! But then he turned out to be LevelUpLeo! (We've been pronouncing his last name wrong this whole time! Now we know better.)
We recorded this episode on Saturday afternoon. That morning, we'd held a costume contest, so there were lots of folks at this panel in brilliant and creative costumes straight out of the pages of Sentinel Comics. It was wonderful.
Another song from Anthony at 44:41. Followed by Anthony's story of what inspired that song.
Then, we go back to reading a few of the letters that we printed out in advance, just to break things up a bit!
And then we sort of spill a pile of beans about OblivAeon story stuff that we've apparently never talked about publicly before? So, that's good. Enjoy!
Another Anthony song at 58:12.
This leads into more questions from the audience. Lots more great questions!
Oh, also some more huge spoiler reveals. A notably one right after the 70 minute mark. Probably not a big deal. *innocent whistle*
Around 81 minutes in, Argent Adept gives us a "Damage -1" token. Then, Citizen Dawn begins laughing ominously in the background.
95 minutes into the episode, Guise makes his appearance. He's exhausting.
As a result of that, starting around the 97 minute mark, Christopher loses it and reveals the secret behind where all of Sentinel Comics comes from. It's not pretty.
Then! A bit after 99 minutes in, Christopher and Adam disagree on the air! Don't worry - they work it out.
One of our favorite things that happened in this panel is that we drop a spoiler for our future plans at 109:50ish, but no one really seemed to pick up on it. Wonder what we meant by that... Probably nothing important! Right?
The final musical interlude from Anthony occurs at 112:30, though this is not the final song of the episode!
After that, just a bit of closing words. We're entirely overwhelmed by how great our listeners are, and how wonderful the Sentinel Comics community is. Seriously, you people are amazing.
We close the episode with another "Christopher and Adam" singalong.
Goodnight and good luck.
Aug 29, 2017
Episode 32 - RevoCorp and "Friends"
Corporate shenanigans! Ready to meet the CEO and more? It's time to talk about RevoCorp!
Run Time: 90:18
We dig pretty deep into untold tales and history to reveal the RevoCorp story. This is all stuff that happens on the sidelines (for the most part) of the Multiverse, but we'll cover how it ends up impacting the world of Sentinel Comics.
The Q&A section features people questioning our lies. It's good to see that we're getting that message through.
Also, last week's question in the Spoilers section was from Matchstickman. Sorry for making that clear in that episode! We hope that Matchstickman can forgive us. And also forgive us for what Adam does in this episode.
Sorry for the brief show notes today - we just got back from Gen Con yesterday and are still recovering.
Speaking of Gen Con, next Tuesday's episode will be the recording of the First Annual Gen Con Live! The Thursday after that, we'll release a "Gen Con Retrospective" interlude. And then back to the regularly scheduled hero and villain episodes next month, starting with Haka!
Aug 22, 2017
Episode 31 - Visionary
Time travel and psychic shenanigans! The many forms of Vanessa Long!
Run Time: 105:49
We deal with multiple realities - and multiple Vanessa Longs (Vanessas Long?) in the first ten minutes, so buckle up!
Brief show notes today, because: Gen Con!
So, we promised a link to the Lazer Ryders Soundtrack in the show notes. Here it is on Spotify. It's also available on Bandcamp. Not sure if there's a better place to get it, but those are both pretty legit! Also, for a sample, check out the song Trevor chose for our episode-ending music.
The questions segment has a bunch of nonsense about Biomancer's creations, the Cult of Gloom, and even the kingdom of Cooltopia? I don't know what's happening with our own podcast these days.
In the future section, we have two spoiler sections. The last bit of the Sentinel Tactics future is spoilers (from 95:30 to 96:35), and the entire Sentinel Comics RPG timeline segment is also spoilers. (from 97:09 to 99:20).
As mentioned, we're already at Gen Con! If you'll be at Gen Con on Saturday, come crash our Letters Page Live recording panel on Saturday!
Also, because we're in Indianapolis and away from our office all this week, we've already recorded the RevoCorp/Benchmark episode! It's too late for your questions! While we're gone, if you want to ask questions for upcoming episodes, I'll leave you with this hint: we have just begun to cover the Prime Wardens and their nemeses...

Episode 30 - Akash'Bhuta and Akash'Others!
Akash'Bhuta, Akash'Thriya, and more!
Run Time: 118:27
This show covers more time than any other episode. It's also one of our longest episodes! Appropriate.
Around 5:40, we posit that this episode won't be longer than the Argent Adept episode. We were wrong. But just barely! Still, we shouldn't have been surprised.
It takes us about half an hour to go through the first couple hundred million years. Then, we start slowing down, only covering thousands or even hundreds of years at a time. Bear with us! We eventually get more into the blow-by-blow stuff that happens in the pages of Sentinel Comics.
At the beginning of the question section - around 45 minutes in - we clear up a thing that we straight up did wrong. We have officially said before the Akash'Bhuta's first appearance was in Prime Wardens #1. There is no way that's correct. Her first appearance was in Virtuoso of the Void #12, and we even know that! We were shocked to look back at what we'd released publicly. We just wrote down the wrong first appearance. We're very sorry.
On to the rest of the fantastic questions! So much to unpack!
A few fishy things happen in the other questions. Another letter from the Cult of Gloom, Princess Cool asserts that she's the original, and we're pretty sure that Biomancer is up to something...
In the future section, we first go over when the timeline split occurs in the Akash story. Then we talk about the rough stuff going on in the Sentinel Tactics timeline.
For the Sentinel Comics RPG timeline, we have to use the SPOILERS tag. From 107:00 to 114:22 so that we can talk about [redacted] and [redacted]. We also take one more question! Enjoy!
As we mention at the end of the episode, we're recording on Thursday this week, and we're actually recording TWO episodes on that day, due to Gen Con. So! Get your Visionary and RevoCorp questions in by early Thursday morning at the latest! Anything after that won't make the cut!
Looking forward to seeing some of you next week at Gen Con!

Episode 29 - The Argent Adept
Buckle in, folks! We're going to meet a bunch of Virtuosos of the Void today, as well as delving into the Void itself!
Run Time: 117:59
In the first portion of the podcast, we go through the history of the Argent Adept's appearances in the pages of Sentinel Comics, from his origin in the Toll of Destiny limited series, through the Virtuoso of the Void ongoing series. We cover a ton of stories at a pretty breakneck pace, as we had SO MANY fantastic questions that we wanted to make sure to let your wonderful input shine, you lovely listeners!
We finish that entire overview in about half an hour! The majority of the rest of the episode is questions!
Shortly after the 40 minute mark, Christopher gets real passionate about music. This speaks to why/how Argent Adept was created. Heck, we both go into even more music stuff in the next 5-10 minutes after that.
Spoilers! Many spoilers! Pretty much the entire future section is a spoiler, and it's tagged as such within the episode. If you're wanting to skip the spoilers, don't listen to anything between 107:52 and 114:33. That's where we spill the beans!
Thanks for listening! Get your questions in for all flavors of Akash'Entities now!
Aug 01, 2017
Interlude 7 - Nemeses
The longest interlude we've ever recorded, by far! So many questions answered! The name of this episode is most certainly not "Lightning Round".
Run Time: 83:50
We cover tons of characters in this episode. A ridiculous amount of them. And almost as many different stories. Ready for hopping all over the place? Strap in - it's going to be a bumpy ride!
Just after the 50 minute mark, Adam and Christopher have a debate about who would win in a fight between two villains, and Adam actually convinces Christopher! It's a surprising outcome for everyone.
Rather than listing all the characters we talked about, here's a list of the things we didn't talk about, even though we did get questions about them!
Those characters all do count as Nemeses, but their stories have to wait for the episodes they are important in, so feel free to ask more questions about them.
Here's the next month's schedule!
If you're at Gen Con, come to the Gen Con live recording on Saturday at 3:00!
Get your Argent Adept questions in now! See you next week!
Jul 27, 2017
Episode 28 - The Ennead
Let's talk about NINE villains! Nine times the goodness!
Run Time: 72:47
There's a lot of rambling nonsense and nonsensical rambling in this episode, but there's also a lot of good story!
Just before the ten minute mark, Adam divulges his scale of animal evilness, from most evil to least evil. So, that's probably a useful thing for all of you out there in internet land.
Then, a bit after the fifteen minute mark, The Ennead start taking over Egypt, and we talk for the next 5-10 minutes about how locked down that whole situation was.
Right after the 26 minute mark, we tell a few but very minor story about Set after The Ennead event. I'm calling it out here because I really like the story. It's not an important story, but it's fun.
Just how many times do we say "reservoir" in this episode?
Right before 34 minutes in, we do a "and then they all died" bit THAT IS TOTALLY TRUE. They all died. Period.
The next thing we do is answer a question - our first question of the episode - in which we reveal a retcon that happened within the pages of Sentinel Comics.
SPOILERS! Starting at the 60:50 mark through 68:25, we talk about spoilers for the Sentinel Tactics timeline, so if you want to wait until it's released to play through the story content yourself, skip this spoilers segment.
Thanks for listening, everyone! Thursday is the longest interlude ever! Talk to you then!
Jul 25, 2017
Episode 27 - Ra
Is Ra the true Egyptian God of the Sun, or just a madman with the power of fire? Or, is he something else entirely?
Run Time: 106:57
We start with a quick overview of who Ra is, and then start breaking down his long and somewhat convoluted story. Let's dig right in.
In the first ten minutes of the show, we reveal Ra as a villain (of sorts) and then kill him off (sort of), and not at all as a joke! And it's not even the most exciting ten minutes of the show!
Starting just before the seventeen minute mark, Adam attempts to name all nine of The Ennead. He does... OK. More on those folks next week!
Around 28 minute in, we start getting into just HOW all of this Egyptian mythology stuff has been translated into modern Sentinel Comics.
Lots of great questions in today's episode, with a ton of story stuff covered entirely in the Q&A segment.
At 55 minutes, we get a question that sparks a REALLY long answer with a ton of story. Enjoy!
Wow, this is a long episode. Whew!
Lots of big reveals in the future section. We talk about the future of a minor side character from the card game timeline and what happens to them in the Tactics timeline. And then! In the RPG timeline section, we go into SPOILERS! Skip from 96:55 to 103:55 if you want to avoid major story spoilers for the RPG.
In a couple days, we're recording the episode about The Ennead AND the interlude about Nemeses! Get your questions in now!
Jul 18, 2017
Episode 26 - Plague Rat
An episode about a slavering rat beast!
Run Time: 76:10
Just a warning: we rehash some old jokes this show. We're out of material, folks. You heard it here! We're already washed up.
But there are also some actual reveals in this episode! Like Plague Rat's real human name from before he was fully rattened!
This is an episode of cautionary tales and important life lessons. Brush your teeth. Don't play in the sewers. Don't do drugs. Or crime. Stay in school, kids.
We go from drug dealer, to rat beast, to infectious rat beast, to captured rat beast... look, a lot happens with Plague Rat, actually. You'll just have to listen to the episode!
And we have a decently long Q&A segment today! Lots of fun stuff there. Good questions. Strange answers. And even a few twists!
And we wrap up with a glimmer of hope for the future.
Next week is Ra!
Jul 11, 2017
Episode 25 - Chrono-Ranger
Today is an American holiday, so we're going to talk about an All-American hero!
Run Time: 83:50
Look forward to all manner of voices from Adam in today's episode!
About 10 minutes in, we introduce the robot named CON. And yes, we will explain CON in this episode. It's about time!
At the 20-minute mark, Adam refers to human flesh as, "Delicious, delicious flesh." We just want to mention right now: we do not support or advocate cannibalism. Adam does not consume human flesh and he does not think of it is actually delicious. That line about delicious flesh was from Plague Rat's point of view.
Right after that, we explain how time travel works. So, that's cool.
Around the 47-minute mark, we say that Chrono-Ranger mostly acts in the main canon timeline just after saying that he act in a bunch of different timelines. Turns out, both are true. In the bulk of Sentinel Comics, he's doing stuff in the primary timeline, but in his occasional solo limited series, he shows up in and alters many different timelines.
In the future section, we actually reveal a decent amount of story, both from the Tactics timeline and the RPG timeline. A lot happens to Jim Brooks in both futures, including two different name changes.
Thanks for listening! Get your Plague Rat questions in now!

Interlude 6 - Maintenance Mode
Let's make some excuses!
Run Time: 28:36
Since we got immediately down to business on Tuesday's Deadline/Lifeline episode, this interlude is a good deal more... fast and loose.
Things we cover in this interlude:
Also, as promised, here's an art!
How do we get through ALL OF THAT in under half an hour? Guess you'll just have to listen to the whole thing to find out!
Oh, also, the very exciting upcoming schedule!
Things are really heating up here on the Letters Page! And not just because it's a hot summer here in St. Louis. But also because of that!
Jun 29, 2017
Episode 24 - Deadline / Lifeline
Tarogath... the destroyer? Or savior? Or just all-around jerk? You decide!
Run Time: 86:29
This is a no-nonsense episode! (Meaning we only engage in minimal nonsense.) It's not the longest episode we've recorded, but it might be the most jam-packed with exciting info!
We start off by talking about the Enclave of the Endling, including proper pronunciation of the names of many Endlings and their fallen races. Got questions about the Enclave of the Endlings? Submit a question! We'll do an Interlude on the Enclave some day.
More info on blood magic and vampires and such today, around the 23 minute mark. And in the questions, as well!
Shortly after that, we actually delve into more of the details of the OblivAeon event than we've revealed before. Makes sense, as Tarogath is rather important to that event!
Just after 41 minutes in, Christopher said, "Tarogath, who became the villain Deadline, who then became the villain Lifeline." (Italics for emphasis.) Definitely meant hero there. Just talking too fast. Whoops! Lifeline's not a villain.
This coming Thursday's Interlude has already been recorded, but you still have some time to get your Chrono-Ranger questions in! Send 'em our way, buckaroos!
Jun 27, 2017
Episode 23 - The Naturalist
Today, we talk about Michael Conteh of Conteh Energy Corporation! Surely, that's where you know him from, right?
Run Time: 61:31
Right in the beginning, we mention that The Operative will come up later in the podcast. And then we follow-through on that promise! We talk about stuff between The Naturalist and The Organization - which does happen to involve The Operative - just after the six minute mark.
Lots of exciting things in today's episode, including space adventures, business take-overs, and even the origin of Akash'Thriya!
The Naturalist has to deal with Equity early on, but we'll also hear from the Slaughterhouse Six - lots of people want to kill The Naturalist, apparently.
As we have done before and we will certainly do again, we discuss how unsettling birds are in this episode. Listen to the few minutes leading up to the 30 minute mark for that gem. I'm certain it'll come up again in the future.
The future holds a lot for The Naturalist, but we can't spoil TOO much for now - lots of story things will come up in the long run!
We've already recorded all of the episodes from now through the end of June, so send in your questions for the Chrono-Ranger episode! We'll announce our schedule through the beginning of August next week.
Jun 20, 2017
Episode 22 - F.I.L.T.E.R., The Block, & Sergeant Steel
Let's talk about a shady organization that reaches throughout the Multiverse!
Run Time: 67:07
At the beginning of the podcast, Christopher predicts that this episode will have a run time of an hour and twelve minutes. Turns out, didn't even make it that long!
This episode, we cover F.I.L.T.E.R. in all of its incarnations, get into The Block - the extradimensional F.I.L.T.E.R. prison and HQ, and also talk about the story of Sergeant Steel and his Steel Squadron!
We get to introduce the character of Felix Stone in this episode! Exciting times. (We also dispose of him. Whoops! Spoilers.)
You also get to learn of A.C.R.O.N.Y.M.!
As promised, here is the Time-Crazed Prisoner from The Block:
As we mention at the end of the episode, the next few recordings are all going to happen pretty quickly. Paul and I will be out of town for a wedding in a couple weeks, and we're all more nose-to-the-grindstone than ever right now, so we're doing a pile of recording this coming Friday, and then skipping a week for weddings, and then doing another pile of recording the Friday after that. So! Hit us up with questions for these characters ASAP!
Thanks for listening!
Jun 13, 2017
Episode 21 - K.N.Y.F.E.
She's tough, she's Scottish, and she's got energy powers! It's Agent Paige Huntly: A.K.A. the hero known as K.N.Y.F.E.!
Run Time: 55:34
First thing first! We're both older - but certainly no wiser - than we were last episode! Happy Birthday to us.
We first introduced the character of Paige Huntly in last week's Chokepoint episode, as their stories intertwine before Agent Huntly ever becomes K.N.Y.F.E.
When we get to the Progeny fight, we go into a bit of a discussion on whether Progeny's head flying away is cool or silly. Who is right? You decide!
And then we're off to SPACE!
Lots of great stuff about alternate realities, people being awful, her Scottish-ness, and even more in the questions section.
Get your questions about F.I.L.T.E.R., Sergeant Steel, and The Block now!
Also, this episode's post-credits bit is the longest one ever, I think!
Jun 06, 2017
Episode 20 - Chokepoint
Today, we talk about the tech-bending villain Chokepoint!
Run Time: 71:03
Right off the bat, we discuss the Iconclad Project and how it took on young Evelyn Moore as in her infancy. You might recall the Ironclad Project from the Bunker episode!
Around thirteen minutes in, we talk about The Block, and then a few minutes later, we introduce the F.I.L.T.E.R. Agent Paige Huntly. More on her next week, and more on FILTER and The Block the week after that!
We get through her entire backstory without digging into the Termi-Nation story... but not to worry! We do a HUGE section in the Q&A portion of the podcast all about Termi-Nation.
Adam reads a letter from the Cult of Gloom. After the episode, we went to the hospital, but they don't deal with that sort of thing. So, he'll probably be fine.
Listeners! Tomorrow (May 31st) is Adam's birthday! Two days after that (June 2nd) is Christopher's birthday! For our birthdays, please send us questions about F.I.L.T.E.R., Sergeant Steel, and The Block! Next week is the K.N.Y.F.E. episode, but we've already recorded that one, due to Christopher being in the UK this week for the UK Games Expo. If you're at that show, go see him in the Greater Than Games booth!
May 30, 2017
Interlude 5 - Dark Watch
A team of misfits and shady characters who have to protect each other in a city - and a world - that's safe for no one! It's time to talk Dark Watch.
Run Time: 32:01
A very brief overview before jumping right in on your questions!
Also, here's the upcoming episode release schedule!
Whew! Get those Chokepoint & K.N.Y.F.E. questions in TODAY! See you soon!
May 25, 2017
Episode 19 - The Freedom Five!
It's everyone's favorite team of heroes!
Run Time: 68:52
We talk about every published incarnation of the Freedom Five and the Freedom Four, and often go down rabbit trails of nonsense, philosophy, or sometimes outright lies. Enjoy!
Lots of callbacks to previous episodes today, but also a good deal of call-forwards! We hint at the contents of the episodes of Haka, Ambuscade, the Slaughterhouse Six, and more!
The Q&A section in this episode is particularly robust, as well!
IMPORTANT! Starting exactly at 58 minutes and 10 seconds into the episode, we start talking about major story spoilers! If you don't want story spoilers for the Sentinel Comics RPG timeline as they're things you'll get to play through, please skip from 58:10 to 63:40.
As we mentioned last week, we still have the demographic survey going, so if you haven't gotten a chance to answer it yet, please do! Help us grow the Letters Page!
On Thursday, there will be a Dark Watch Interlude! Also, next week, we're recording both the Chokepoint episode AND the K.N.Y.F.E. episode, as Christopher will be in the UK from the end of May through the first week of June. So, get your Chokepoint and K.N.Y.F.E. questions in now!
May 23, 2017
Episode 18 - Unity
It everyone's favorite robot builder: Unity!
Run Time: 68:10
First thing, right off the bat, we talk about a survey. This is a link to that survey! Please do take a moment to fill it out, as it will help us grow and improve The Letters Page.
Then, we're on to talk about television! Because that's what this show is about!
Adam requested just after 12 minutes into the podcast that I put his address in the show notes. No one tell him that I'm not doing that. Just trust me; it's for the best.
We talk about Unity's parents' history a bit, and how her mom was injured during the Yom Kippur War.
At about twenty minutes in, we quickly give away that during the OblivAeon event, Unity builds a massive T. Rex bot. It's pretty dang cool.
And then! We go right to questions! Flying in the face of tradition! What is even happening?!
Lots of great info in today's Q&A segment. We're getting more and more free with information. Which is good!
Just after the 28 minute mark, we go into a bit of Unity's naming guidelines.
In a question we read around 32:45, we reveal the history of a couple minor figures in Sentinels lore, and even some of their story that is yet to be seen in the Multiverse!
As promised, here is a link to the OblivAeon lead-up ARG. If you haven't gone through it before, I highly recommend it. Very cool things happened there.
Just after the 44 minute mark, we read another fantastic limerick from Arcanist Lupus. The question in that limerick leads to us revealing who it was that captures Unity and kept her in a glass case far from all metal. So many reveals!
We even spill the beans a bit about her future relationships! She's dating someone? And joining some other team? (We get to that part in the Future segment.) But who? You'll just have to listen to the episode to find out!
Once we get to the Future segment, hold on to your hats for some time-traveling information. Not information about someone doing time-traveling or how time travel works. Nope. Information that has come back in time to us from the future! Bizarre!
Thanks for listening! So many exciting things on the horizon! Also, don't forget to fill out our demographics survey. Thank you!
May 16, 2017
Episode 17 - The Vengeful Five
A dastardly episode about Baron Blade, Freight Train, Ermine, Proletariat, and Friction!
Run Time: 92:42
The longest episode yet!
I know that this is a podcast about characters from a fictional comic book series, but we start off by talking about the weather. A bunch. So, that's fun!
Just before the four minute mark, we explain the format that we're using this episode, since we're covering a bunch of characters with overlapping stories. A thing we don't mention but is very true: this episode references a TON of other episodes. In a lot of ways, the Vengeful Five are a product of their opponents, so there's a lot of "inside baseball" talk in this episode.
First we mention Baron Blade... and point out that he's got an episode all of his own! Check it out.
Then, we move on to Fright Train. You might want to listen to the Bunker episode if you haven't yet, as Fright Train and Bunker have a shared history. (The Baron Blade episode is also relevant to Bunker's backstory. As is the Setback episode!)
There are lots of important links in these show notes.
The next character we cover is Proletariat! There's a lot of interesting references going on here, but the only episode I can really point to for you here is last week's Absolute Zero episode.
The final member of the Vengeful Five is Friction. The relevant episode tie-in here is the Tachyon episode.
Mid-Friction, we momentarily follow a rabbit trail from the definition of vengeance and into some nonsense about the definition of self.
Talking everyone's favorite intern sidekick technopath next week!
May 09, 2017
Episode 16 - Absolute Zero
Today, we talk about a character with as depressing a name as his backstory! Hooray?
Run Time: 87:33
Right off the bat, we get started with the story of the FIRST Absolute Zero! Surprise!
Just after the 3 minute mark, we lose our highly focused train of thought and devolve into madness, discussing the difference in scariness between Nazis and Nazi Ghosts. And then what to do about ghosts. We do this for... minutes. And then return to the backstory of the first Absolute Zero. There's no excuse for our behavior.
We do get into some of the backstory of the Golden Age of Sentinel Comics in the first fifteen minutes of this episode. We also goof around a bit.
Then! We finally get into Absolute Zero. The Absolute Zero you all know and love, that is.
At 19:28, I get ahead of myself and talk about a thing that I wanted to save for the Q&A portion... but it didn't get cut, so you get to hear what it sounds like when I change my mind on something I'm saying! Yay? Behind the scenes!
Around the 25 minute mark, we talk about Absolute Zero & Tachyon's Sentinels Book Club! Both of those members of the Freedom Five have book recommendations for this episode!
Our answer to the first letter read in the Q&A segment (a bit after the 40 minute mark) explains why we have two Absolute Zeroes. There was a reason from the real world?! Not the fictional world Adam and Christopher spend the bulk of their lives living in?! Look, I'm as shocked as you are.
Next week, we talk Vengeance!
May 02, 2017
Interlude 4 - The Meta-fiction Interlude!
It's an interlude about the everything of everything!
Run Time: 16:17
First off, here's the upcoming schedule:
Rock 'n' Roll! Racing!
Get your Absolute Zero questions is now Now NOW! Time is fleeting!
In this episode, we talk about what it means to be a Sentinel, what a recurring villain is, how we can all do better, how this whole thing came to be, and more!
And, thanks to brilliant listener Princess Cool, we now know what a group of Nazi Ghosts would be called.
See you next week!
Apr 27, 2017
Episode 15 - The Matriarch / Harpy / Pinion
Let's talk about Lillian Corvus in her many forms!
I got all artsy with today's image! In case you're not sure which art is which Lillian Corvus:
Run Time: 74:18
We finish up the villain portion of this podcast in the first fifteen minutes! Wow!
At the 14 minute mark, we begin digging into an event revealed in the OblivAeon lead-up ARG, the story of Dark Watch #7.
Just after the 35 minute mark, when discussing GloomWeaver, Christopher talks about that villainous entity getting encased in a doctor. Not sure what we're talking about? Listen to the GloomWeaver episode!
Just before 40 minutes in, we read a question that leads us to tell the backstory of the Mask of the Matriarch and its fowl power! About time!
At about 41:45, we talk about the Great Fire of Santander, Spain. Read more about that here!
Then, at 42:20, we talk about a special necklace that ended up on a particularly famous boat.
Just after the 49 minute point, we get a letter from L. Nate - or, as we prefer, El Nate! Then, Christopher uses... some kind of accent. We apologize to listeners everywhere. Especially L. Nate.
Just before 52 minutes in, we claim we're only halfway through the episode. That was clearly false. We have no concept of time. As we prove with the OblivAeon Kickstarter! Oooh, sick self-burn! (Ow.)
Oh, also, we cancelled the future. We cover that a few minutes after the hour mark. Sorry about that. Future is cancelled.
Apr 25, 2017
Episode 14 - Tachyon
This episode has arrived before it even left!
Run Time: 79:15
Three and a half minutes in, we mention that there's an upcoming Freedom Five Episode. We do a lot of, "We'll talk about that in the [some character] episode," so I figured I might as well give you the official schedule through the end of May, at least.
Worry not! We'll still do an Interlude about the upcoming schedule at the end of this month. I genuinely have no idea how many of our listeners read these show notes.
The last big pre-OblivAeon story we talk about for Tachyon is the Progeny story. We go over that starting around 19:30. This is a major turning point for Tachyon's powers and story.
At the start of the Questions segment, we do a bit of Talking About How To Questions. We get SO MANY questions, and we love them. But they've gotta be tagged properly or we might miss it. And that would be sad! We don't want to miss your questions.
Oh, boy. At just after the 55 minute mark, we're gonna say a thing about Tachyon that you're not all going to love. But it's true!
At 58:15, we reveal the name of a foe that has never been publicly named before!
At around the hour mark, we dig into the Iron Legacy timeline: Tachyon's role there, some things she does, some things that happen to her - it's all pretty rough.
At the end of the question segment around 68 minutes in, we talk about a Tachyon story that happened in Fanatic's book Absolution. We do some defining of blood magic and vampires, too!
See you next week to talk about Tachyon's cousin!
Apr 18, 2017
Interlude 3 - the Betterlude!
This interlude is called the Betterlude, because we recorded it once already, but now it's back and better than ever!
Run Time: 23:31
Things we talk about!
Thanks for listening!
Apr 13, 2017
Episode 13 - GloomWeaver
Magicks from another realm! An ancient evil entity! What more could you ask for?
Run Time: 89:06
Just as a heads up, Adam gets real demanding in this episode.
About fifteen minutes into the episode, we try to figure out what a group of Nazi Ghosts would be called. A haunt? A heil? Help us out!
We sneak in stories for a lot of other characters here. NightMist, Spite, Lifeline, even Doctor Medico! (Really big NightMist reveal during the Q&A portion, in particular...)
Trevor does a great job with the sound effects at 54:30ish. Thank you, Trevor.
Apr 11, 2017
Episode 12 - NightMist
Time to talk about NightMist! Lots of big story stuff here.
Before the show even properly starts, Christopher jumps in to apologize for not posting an Interlude last week. We recorded it! It was really great. And then, the files got eaten by the internet, somehow. We have new plans in place to keep that from happening in the future (we're glad that we lost an Interlude and not an entire Episode), but we'll just have to re-record all that stuff this Friday after we record the GloomWeaver episode. Sorry about that! We're pretty annoyed about it, but what can be done? Just gotta move on.
Also! A few episodes ago we mentioned that a Letters Page Bingo type thing could be fun. Lo and behold, it has happened! Awesome Letters Page listener Kyle Grossman has created THIRTY different Letters Page Bingo cards, and you can find them all here!
Now, onto the episode itself!
Run Time: 78:02
Before going on to introducing Faye Diamond, we first talk about her father Thomas, and before that, his father Joe Diamond. (As we discuss in the beginning of the Q&A portion, yes, that Joe Diamond from the game Arkham Horror crosses over with Faye Diamond from Sentinel Comics, due to a creation connection.)
Adam and Christopher get into sound effects and weird voices during this episode.
Around the 32 minute mark, we talk about NightMist during the Vengeance event, and how she gets shot with a regression dart and loses her powers. That's pictured in Baron Blade's Vengeance deck.
So, that happened. But it doesn't last! In a couple of ways, actually.
Around 43:00, we talk about NightMist encountering and losing to Progeny. This story is told during the OblivAeon lead-up ARG. And the next story about NightMist and The Harpy is also told during that ARG.
And that is the end of the NightMist story.
Apr 04, 2017
Episode 11 - The Chairman
Time for crime! The sordid history of Chairman Pike is about to be revealed!
Run Time: 77:56
We start by talking about Jonathan Pike, the man you founded Pike Industries. We quickly move on from there.
We mention that the hero Black Fist is one of the first people to really oppose The Organization. More on him in the Mister Fixer episode. (Which Adam claims as his favorite episode so far. Christopher's is the Omnitron episode.)
Around the 19 minute mark, we give some indispensable advice for villains and crime lords.
Graham Pike goes on a quest to find the immortal dragon man, and meets Zhu Long as a result. Even gets to visit the Temple of Zhu Long. Lots of Zhu Long appearances in this episode.
Around the 27 minute mark, we discuss the five branches of The Organization.
Then, just after the half hour point, we introduce The Operative.
This all leads to 32:20, when we break down the sigil of The Organization:
Were you already aware of the meaning behind the sigil of The Organization? Let us know!

Episode 10 - Mister Fixer
Time to talk about H.R. "Slim" Walker!
Run time: 83:28
We're doing things slightly differently today: instead of moving through the character's life chronologically, we go in order of what stuff appeared in the pages of Sentinel Comics.
We start by talking about the character Black Fist! This art is the only depiction of Black Fist in the Sentinels of the Multiverse card game:
(Hint: In this art, Black Fist is neither Legacy nor the giant green space alien person. He's the other person. The one next to Legacy.)
Twelveish minutes into the episode, we move forward to talking about "Slim" - who then becomes Mister Fixer - he looks like the first image posted above. Just a guy who works in an auto shop.
Around the 18 minute mark, we rewind to actually go into Harry Robert Walker's complete backstory, starting from his youth.
At 19:20, we talk about terrible cities. Adam mentions Baghdad. Turns out, the city with the highest murder rate in the world is Caracas, Venezuela. Which is where Christopher grew up. So, that's cool? No worries, though - we live in St. Louis now. Which is #15 on this list. OH GEEZE.
Around 33:30, the Dark Watch story comes up. When Expatriette, Setback, and NightMist go to the Temple of Zhu Long, this is what they find:
Christopher and Adam talk for almost an entire minute from 35:10 to 36:00 just on the viscosity and taste of the liquid in that vat. You're welcome (to just skip that part of the episode).
I want to apologize right now for the "wolf hunting" sub-plot that happens during the Q&A portion of the podcast. It was not planned, and I really don't know where it came from.
Just after the 65 minute mark, we talk about the art above that depicts Black Fist and Legacy with Jansa Vi Dero. We don't look at the art - just talk about it from memory. Christopher thinks that Legacy's boots do a "flop-over thing". They do not. Adam thinks Legacy is wearing his underwear on the outside. Legacy is not. Both Christopher and Adam were wrong, and are ashamed.
Next week, we talk about The Chairman and The Organization! See you then!

Episode 9 - Omnitron
Omnitron and Omnitron and Omnitron and Omnitron! And more!
This is both a villain and a hero episode! And even more!
Run Time: 68:35
At the very beginning, we mention that our business partner Paul makes a video series with his brother where they talk about rockets and stuff. It's called Specific Impulse, and they have a bunch of great videos on YouTube! Check them out!
At the top of these show notes you can see the initial iteration of Omnitron in its "Rampaging Robot" form, rather than its Factory form. We'll show a few different versions of Omnitron in these show notes as they come up in the episode.
As promised in the episode, here is the chart that helps explain the Omnitron(s) timelines:
For details on how this chart works and what each color refers to, listen to the episode!
Warning: With the upcoming images in this point, we recommend you don't scroll through them all now, but wait and scroll down to each of them as we reveal their existence in the episode, just to have the correct forms of Omnitron in mind as we tell the various stories.
Now, a parade of Omnitrons!
Omnitron II, AKA Cosmic Omnitron:
Omnitron III, AKA Omni-Blade:
Baron Blade, what were you thinking?
Omnitron IV, which is not a robot entity so much as a barely intelligent robotics factory:
The last non-hero incarnation of Omnitron in the Sentinels of the Multiverse Timeline!
To jump ahead, Omnitron-X:
And the event that brought Omnitron-U to life!
Then, moving on to the Sentinel Tactics Timeline: Omnitron V!
And its robotic soulmate, offspring, and counterpart, the Omni-Reaper!
The combination of both together create the dual-bodied entity known as Omnitron VI!
And in the upcoming Sentinel Comics RPG? What is the fate of Omnitron there? Only time will tell...
At 63:35ish, Christopher says, "In the Sentinel Tactics timeline, we have the hero: Omnitron." As you can probably tell from context, he meant the Sentinel Comics RPG timeline. He just got caught up in the moment! Whoops!
Thanks for listening!
Join us next week for an episode about Mister Fixer, and the week after that for The Chairman! Get your questions in now!

Episode 8 - Bunker
Another member of the Freedom Five! It's Bunker!
An important note before getting into the actual show notes for the episode. This episode was recorded at the beginning of the year, as we knew that this week, we would be unable to record an episode due to various conventions. As a result, the Q&A portion of the episode is MUCH shorter, as we had far fewer Bunker questions. Not to worry! On May 23rd, we'll be posting Episode 19 - Freedom Five Recap. That episode has been planned since just after we posted the episode about The Wraith, as we've gotten a bunch of follow up questions on both Legacy and The Wraith. That episode will just be a huge Q&A section covering all of your Freedom Five issues, including Bunker questions! So, apologies for the shortness of this episode, but we'll make it up to you in May! Get your questions in using our handy question form!
Now, back to the standard show notes and such!
Run Time: 45:23
Even though this episode is short, we're still proud of it because we get to talk a bit about how things work behind the scenes in Sentinel Comics, so that's cool.
Mar 07, 2017
Episode 7 - Kismet
Time for some tricks - we're gonna talk about Kismet!
Run Time: 75:06
In the intro, Christopher mentions the shirt he's wearing. Because he's a fun guy.
We talk about The Block - an extradimensional prison detached from time and space - a few times in this episode. It's pictured behind Kismet there in the cover image for this episode.
As mentioned, Kismet exists because of a winning entry to our 2012 Create A Villain Contest! Well done, Alex.
Feb 28, 2017
Episode 6 - Setback
Let's talk Setback!
Run Time: 84:16
We were really tempted to post this show a day late, just because of who this episode is about... but we didn't want to let our listeners down!
If you haven't listened to the Expatriette episode yet, we suggest you do so before the Q&A portion of this episode - lots of connected stuff.
We mention that the building he went to for medical testing was a RevoCorp building. More on RevoCorp in the Baron Blade episode!
Not a lot of notes today! This episode is pretty self contained.
See you next week for Setback's old flame and nemesis, Kismet!
Feb 21, 2017
Episode 5 - Citizen Dawn
Time for another villain episode! Today, we talk all about the leader of the Citizens of the Sun!
Run Time: 86:41
As a note, today's episode is about a pretty terrible person. She's a villain, and not really a sympathetic one. Just so you know.
Because of the impressive number of questions you all asked about Citizen Dawn, today's episode features a slightly shorter character overview segment, followed by a much longer Q&A section. Great work everyone - keep those questions coming!
The character we're talking about this week is the mother of the character we talked about last week, so there's a lot of information you'll want in this episode. If you missed last week's episode, go check it out! Then come back. No rush - we'll wait.
Here's the photographic evidence of Adam's inverted Citizens of the Sun mug:
We mention that Citizens Hammer and Anvil are the best. They are. True fact.
Next week, we talk about Setback! We're recording that episode on Thursday, February 16th - a day earlier than usual - so get your questions in by Thursday morning!
Feb 14, 2017
Episode 4 - Expatriette
It's time for everyone's favorite gun-totin' purple-haired markswoman!
Run Time: 83:05
Hoo boy! We're having trouble sticking to this "one-hour-show" thing, aren't we? We just have so much to say!
In attempt to appeal to younger generations, Christopher uses the phrase "on fleek". No, he doesn't know how to use it or what it means. But does anyone?
We talk about Expatriette's first unfinished mission, in which she fought and failed to kill a mechanic in Slim's Auto Shop. I wonder who he could be...
After Christopher and Adam briefly discuss six-sided dice vs. twenty-sided dice as "standard" dice, Christopher mentions he'll make a survey and put it in the show notes. Here it is! We'll probably stop taking responses at some point... maybe not, though!
Both Christopher and Adam bust out their fake French accents during the Q&A portion of this episode. We're sorry. We're so sorry.
See you next week for an episode about Expatriette's mom!
Feb 07, 2017
Interlude 2 - The Trevorlude
Hey, folks! This Interlude is called the Trevorlude for reasons! Come and get it!
Run time: 11:48
Right off the bat, we talk about a game of Sentinels of the Multiverse that we played. Christopher says that none of the heroes had hands. This doesn't mean that they had their hands chopped off - the players controlling those heroes had no cards in their hands. Just to be clear.
Now, on to the important stuff - upcoming episodes!
February 7th: Expatriette
Got questions on those characters? Ask them now!
Feb 02, 2017
Episode 3 - Baron Blade
Our first villain episode had to be about Baron Blade, right?
Run Time: 69:27
Oh, man. Some big reveals in this episode. Let's get to it!
Just before the seven-minute mark, Christopher mentions that we've said before that we're not going to turn this into a Star Wars podcast. Trevor has to edit at least a few minutes of Star Wars discussion out of almost every episode. We like Star Wars.
While discussing the "Trial of Baron Blade" story, we talk about the super-powered law blog, Law and the Multiverse. We recommend you check it out.
On Thursday, we'll post an Interlude episode about what episodes you can look forward to in February. Got questions for us? We welcome them! Ask them using our handy form!
Jan 31, 2017
Episode 2 - The Wraith
We're talking about The Wraith!
Run Time: 78:01
In the first three minutes, Christopher says that there's another 45 minutes of episode to go. He vastly underestimated how much he and Adam are able to talk about The Wraith. By about half an hour.
Because she lives, works, and fights there, we talk a lot about Rook City. Check out the Sentinels Wiki for more information on that terrible place.
Adam perfectly NAILS the name "Madame Mittermeier’s Fantastical Festival of Conundrums and Curiosities" right off the top of his head. Props.
Also, we linked to the Sentinels Wiki a bunch in these show notes. That's because the fine folks over there do such a great job. Keep up the good work, Wiki-mancers!

Interlude 1 - The Multiverse and More
Welcome to our first Interlude episode!
Run Time: 21:46
Interlude episodes will be shorter episodes that we release on occasional Thursdays. We'll use these to answer general questions, additional questions about characters that we've covered in previous episodes, and other supplemental information.
Today, we're covering a bit of overarching info about the world of Sentinel Comics - how it works, what our vision for it involves, etc. Also, we discuss what you might find in The Letters Page podcast, going forward.
Only one Show Note for this episode: at the 19 minute mark, we mention that there have been a few episodes of The Letters Page at this point. Obviously, that's not true. We had recorded this Interlude with plans to release it after we had a few episodes in the bag, but upon listening to it, we realized it would be a great "Welcome to The Letters Page" episode, so here we are!
No other Show Notes on this episode - everything else is pretty well contained in this Interlude! So, listen in as we talk about the Multiverse, Sentinel Comics, and what to look forward to in upcoming episodes of The Letters Page!
Got questions for us? Ask them here!
Jan 19, 2017
Episode 1 - Legacy
It's our first episode! And it's about Legacy!
If you have questions for Christopher and Adam, ask them here!
Run Time: 66:50
We mention Joseph Parson's connection to Paul Revere and his famous ride. For more information on that, click this link.
We apologize for alienating all listeners named Pauline in the first ten minutes of our first episode ever. Sorry to all of you for making fun of your antique name.
Christopher says "um" a bunch in this episode. He's just really excited about actually getting to do this show. Please forgive him - he promises to not "um" as much in future episodes.
We claim that the Baron Blade episode is coming in 3-6 years. We're confident that we can make that deadline... but look, things happen.
We talk glowingly about Danny "D-Lo" Lott, who asked the first of our questions. Here is one of his videos. About some game or other.
Just after the 50 minute mark, we both say the word "alongside" a whole bunch of times. Not sure why this is a note, but hey, something to look forward to. If you're into that kind of thing.
At the end of the episode, we mention that Legacy will be in the Sentinel Comics RPG in 2017. That's this year, folks. Stay tuned!
