Welcome to another edition of E&C's Pod of Awesomeness.

This week, after the Birdman got tapped by Shawn Michaels (no big deal) to cover some of his classes at the Performance Center, the Strappers were able to speak with one of Christian's students--Adam Cole BAY BAY! Among a variety of topics, Cole covered the moment he fell in love with pro wrestling, his gift for cutting a great promo, and becoming the inaugural NXT North American Champion during a six-man ladder match.

Also E&C reviewed Hell in a Cell, and caught up with the creator of Headlocked comics, Mike Kingston.

The episode is jam-packed this week, brother brothers. HERE WE GO.

Tales From the Indies with Tommy, and Answering Your Twitter Questions!
01:04:40

What's up, Marks?!

Welcome to another edition of E&C's Pod of Awesomeness.

This week, Edge, fresh off a plane and jet lagged, asked Christian to steer the ship. So what did the Birdman cook up? An episode that featured Tales From the Indies with TOMMAYYY, and a bunch of Twitter questions from the Hosers.

Lots of questions were answered throughout the show, like...

Why did Tommy take so long to call in?

Did E&C execute bloodbaths on their own?

And who would the guys have had as a manager, if they were able to pick a celebrity?

All that, plus a promo from Paul Smackage and a brief cameo from Betty Phoenix.

HERE WE GO.

01:31:54

What's up, Hosers?!

Welcome to another edition of E&C's Pod of Awesomeness.

This week's show has been a long time in the making, as our guest is a woman the Strappers have promised to have on, for a long time. She's fresh off of a great match at ALL IN, and voluntarily puts up with Zack Ryder on a daily basis--it's Chelsea Green!

In addition to talking ALL IN, E&C and Chelsea covered a ton, from her start at Lance Storm's wrestling school to Tough Enough, and her in-ring WWE promo with Daniel Bryan....plus a bunch more. It was a great chat.

Oh, and we also found out that Zack Ryder is a big cat guy now! So, there's that.

Enjoy, Hosers. HERE WE GO.

This week, The Strappers de Rocket spoke to the GM of WWE's 205 Live, Drake Maverick. Drake spoke about his current role, appreciating the opportunities he's received within the business, and staying in shape, should there come a time when he's wrestling again. He also explained his old moniker, Rockstar Spud, and the impact that one undersized ECW/WWE vet had on his aspiration of wrestling professionally.

Also, Christian forgot his kit so he had to do the show from his phone, and the guys tell some great Owen Hart rib stories.

Mauro Ranallo! Plus, Previews of NXT Takeover and Summerslam
01:40:27

What's up, Hosers?!

Welcome to another edition of E&C's Pod of Awesomeness.

This week, the Strappers caught up with a fellow Canadian, and a man whose passion for the wrestling business is both immense and contagious, NXT announcer Mauro Ranallo. Mauro talked through some of the matches we'll be seeing this weekend at Takeover and Summerslam, before explaining why, in the age of social media and short attention spans, the Gargano-Ciampa feud is so special.

The trio also covered Ranallo's lengthy resume, which includes time as the voice of Pride, Bellator, Showtime Boxing, and WWE's Smackdown. It was a great chat.

Plus, E&C remembered their own Summerslam experiences and paid tribute to Jim "The Anvil" Neidhart, who we lost earlier this week.

Rest in Power, Anvil.

NXT's Ricochet, Tommmaaaayyyy, and Lenny Dykstra
01:28:34

What's up, Hosers?!

Welcome to another edition of E&C's Pod of Awesomeness.

This week, the Strappers welcomed one of the most athletic and acrobatic wrestlers on earth, NXT's Ricochet. Ricochet talked about his love of NXT and debuting in a ladder match, getting to pick the brain of Shawn Michaels on a regular basis, and the unique nature of working on Lucha Underground.

And before talking with Ricochet, E&C gave Tommayyy a call to hear about his latest Tales From the Indies. Here's the thing, though--Tommayy wasn't alone. Halfway through the call he tagged in a surprise guest, one of the most infamous players in MLB history and a man whose nickname mirrors that of a 90s WWF wrestler, Lenny Dykstra (AKA Nails). Yes, I'll say it again; Tommay and Lenny Dykstra joined the show together. It was pretty unbelievable.

Also, Edge talks about Betty Phoenix calling The Mae Young classic with Renee Young and Michael Cole and, as promised, Flip Sunset shows up to cut a promo.

Stone Cold Steve Austin and Bret Hart Breakdown Their WrestleMania 13 Submission Match in Our Latest "Anatomy of a Match"
02:17:19

What's up, Hosers?!

Welcome to a very special, once in a lifetime edition of E&C's Pod of Awesomeness.

First things first, it's our one-year anniversary! And what a year it's been--Rocket Strapping, Paul Smackage, incredible guests, and TOMMAY! Thanks for all the support, and here's to year two.

But before starting a new year of the show, we had to celebrate year one with our second ever "Anatomy of a Match."

Stone Cold. Bret Hart. WrestleMania 13.

These legends joined the pod together to take us through the entire experience--the in-ring psychology, the double heel-face turn, making the decision to get color, the importance of Ken Shamrock, and the bloody sharpshooter that capped everything off.

It was truly a wrestling master class from two of the best to ever lace up the boots.

And before talking to Bret and Steve, the Strappers shared their thoughts on hitting the one-year mark, Daniel Bryan's return, and The Ultimate Deletion.

01:50:22

What's up, Hosers? Welcome to another edition of E&C's Pod of Awesomeness.

Here on the Pod of Awesomeness, we're always striving for excellence--some may say that we set the...wait for it... BAR real high. And...hold on, here it comes... BARring technical difficulties, I think you'll enjoy E&C's interview with...THE BAR, Sheamus and Cesaro.

God, that was bad.

Anyway, The Rocket Strappers talked to RAW's tag champs about how their team was formed, the transition from singles wrestling to tag team wrestling, and who they'd like to face, going forward. Also, Sheamus and Cesaro detailed how they stay in shape on the road and discussed Cesaro's hatred of beach balls, among other things.

This episode had it all--a lot of laughs, some ranting, Christian singing Hey Jude, and a Tony, Toni, Tone reference.

BOOYAKA Hosers, welcome to another edition of E&C's Pod of Awesomeness.

I think I gave away this week's guest with the first word of this description, but in case you still aren't sure, it's Rey Mysterio!

They kicked things off by talking about the WWE's upcoming mixed-tag tournament, before revealing that this episode of the pod was going to be dedicated to the 10 year anniversary of...The Edgeheads.

After unsuccessfully trying to get Ryder on the phone, Hawkins called in to reminisce about being one half of the Edgeheads--how the gimmick got started; how he and Ryder picked the names they've carried into present day; what it was like being such a prominent part of a Wrestlemania match, at such a young age; and the one time that Edge actually got hot at them.

Edge, Christian, and Curt also talked Zack Ryder--his wrestling figure collection and how blown up he was in his ECW match against The Bird--before calling to give him one last shot at being on the show.

This one, like all the ones, was a fun one, Hosers.

What's up Hosers?!

Welcome to another Pod of Awesomeness.

On this week's show, E&C surprised Tommy, who was in his healing cave when they called, and asked for his help in figuring out (or trying to, at least) some of wrestling's Mount Rushmores. The '80s

The '90s

ECW

Cruiserweights

Tag Teams

NWA

WCW

WWF/WWE

Entrance music

...just to name a few. Make sure to tell us who makes your Mount Rushmore for some of these categories, on Twitter, @EandCPod.

This week's E&C Pod is a special one, as the guys take an in-depth, extended look at tag team wrestling. The origin, how things evolved, then devolved, then evolved again, and amazing stories from their time as tag team wrestlers. I won't ruin anything, but there's some great advice from Stone Cold Steve Austin in there (the real one), Edge talks about nearly teaming with a former IC champ to create a "New" version of an old, legendary tag team, and Christian reveals what it took for him to finally cut off his long hair.

And before that, we have some of your voicemails, including one that's, um, interesting? Plus TOMMAY returns to the show to talk about his Australia trip and reclaim his segment from Hobo Hank.

Here we go.

Samoa Joe and The Mean Street Posse's Pete Gas
02:04:00

What's up, Hosers?!

In advance of Sunday's WWE Great Balls of Fire PPV, E&C sat down with the man who's going toe to toe with Brock Lesnar, Samoa Joe! And when I say the guys sat down with Joe, it's kind of true. Christian drove to his house and made himself comfortable instantly, ensuring that he'll never be asked back again.

In addition to covering GBOF, Joe reminisced with E&C and talked about some of his favorite all-time opponents, before finding out that Christian was following him via LiveJournal, even before they knew each other.

But before the guys talked to Joe, they had to catch up with another old friend, The Mean Street Posse's own, Pete Gas. In addition to his book "Looking at the Lights: My Path from Fan to a Wrestling Heel," Pete talked about his time with the WWE, misconceptions about his Greenwich upbringing, and not mocking Edge when he last saw him, even though Shane McMahon had asked him to.

All that, plus some singing and a Great Gazoo reference. It's a jam-packed show...

Here. We. Go.

The Queen, Charlotte Flair and Tales From the Indies with Hobo Hank!
02:00:17

What's up, Hosers?!

Welcome to another Pod of Awesomeness. This week, E&C are joined by a woman whose work in the WWE has been flat out jaw-dropping, The Queen, Charlotte Flair. Charlotte talked about how she's feeling after not one, but two Money in the Bank ladder matches, what it was like having her dad, the legendary Ric Flair, as her manager, how her athletic background has helped her in the ring, and the match where everything "clicked" for her as a wrestler.

But before E&C spoke with The Queen, they wanted to hear some Tales From the Indies, and since TommyTommyTommy has been away for the past few weeks, they enlisted the services of Albuquerque's finest--HOBO HANK! Hank came on to talk about recently dropping his title, and was given some top notch marketing ideas that'll help him take his character to the next level.

Also, the guys analyzed in-ring psychology, talked about Nia Jax's potential, and Christian needs someone to lend him a VCR so he can watch his old tryout tape.

Here we go.

Mike Kanellis on His Road to the WWE, the Connection He Has With Edge, and His New Entrance Music
02:09:11
What's up Hosers?!

Welcome to another edition of E&C's Pod of Awesomeness. Today, we go in depth with one of the WWE's newest superstars, Mike Kanellis! Mike took us through his entire professional career--the highs, the lows, and everything in between--and how the road he traveled down eventually led to his debut at WWE's Money in the Bank PPV.

Also, he did some singing with Edge and Christian, and touched on how, at one point, Edge's Alter Bridge theme music became an integral part of his in-ring repertoire.

All that, plus E&C talk Headlock on Hunger's food drive, the continuing evolution of Jinder Mahal, the women's Money in the Bank ladder match, and Christian looks up a few words on Google.

Here we go!

The GLORIOUS One, NXT Champion Bobby Roode!
01:32:11
What's up there, 5 Second Hosers? Welcome to the latest edition of E&C's Pod of Awesomeness.

This week, Edge and Christian talk to a man who can only be described using one adjective--GLORIOUS. Fellow Canadian Bobby Roode joins the pod to talk about everything, from wrestling Edge three months into his career to the conception of his theme song (which was used by the Predators during the NHL playoffs), and his ascent to NXT Champion.

Also, E&C remember some great times with Dusty Rhodes, discover a baby who laughs uncontrollably at "Here we go," attempt to sing System of a Down's "Chop Suey," and give their final thoughts on the Stanley Cup Final.

Here we go.

An In-Depth Look at Ladder Matches, Tommy's Tales From the Indies, and Voicemails!
01:55:11
What's up, 5 Second Hosers?! Welcome to another Pod of Awesomeness. On today's show...

E&C do some catching up before listening to voicemails and welcoming Sir #TommyTommyTommy Dreamer back onto the show, to talk about his Tales From the Indies. He wrestled a few big ones in North Carolina, and gave us a House of Hardcore exclusive for his upcoming shows in Australia.

Then, we had the main event: Ladder matches. E&C talk through the history of the ladder match, some of their favorites to watch, their favorites that they've been a part of, the scariest bumps they've taken, and the time a hurricane almost ruined one of their most memorable ladder matches.

We've got all that, plus a bit of a mock mock challenge for the Hosers.

Here we go.

01:42:15
Welcome, ladies and gentlemen, to another Pod of Awesomeness. On this week's show E&C catch up with a couple of old friends.

First, John Morrison joined the pod to talk about his movie Boone: The Bounty Hunter--the sacrifices he made to see the project through, and what it was like to do his own stunts. For more info about the film, head to http://www.boonethebountyhunter.com/

Next, the guys talked to a woman who's putting together a legendary WWE career, and comes from a long line of legends--Nattie Neidhart! Nattie bonded with Christian over their love of cats and talked working with Charlotte, how filming Total Divas helped her pen a Hall of Fame speech for Beth Phoenix, and of course, her upcoming Money in the Bank Ladder Match.

Shawn Michaels and Mick Foley Break Down Their Match From WWF's In Your House: Mind Games
01:41:57
The wait is over! It's time for the first ever ANATOMY OF A MATCH.

Shawn Michaels and Mick Foley were gracious enough to join E&C's Pod of Awesomeness to talk about their 1996 bout at WWF's In Your House: Mind Games. They touched on not having wrestled each other before, why the title being on the line became a secondary storyline, and the move sequence that's fooled wrestlers and fans alike, for years.

It was great to hear two legends of wrestling talk about a match that, for the most part, flies under the radar and doesn't always quite get the praise it deserves.

Also, before catching up with Shawn and Mick, E&C jumped on the phone with this month's fan contest winner, DJKNOWSKILLZ, commented on Jinder Mahal winning a title, and laughed about Shane McMahon Mock Mocking a picture of Tony Chimel on TV (shout out to the 5 Second Hosers for pointing that out).

Ok, enough talk, enjoy the show. Here we go!

Bad Gimmicks, Tommy Dreamer's Tales From the Indies, Hockey with Jeremy Roenick, and Announcing the first ANATOMY OF A MATCH!
02:10:34
This week's Pod of Awesomeness is PACKED, like when you go on vacation with a small bag and can't get the zipper closed, so you just leave it open and hope nothing falls out. Ok, maybe no one actually does that, but you get the point.

First up, we announced our inaugural Anatomy of a Match, which will be available for your listening pleasure next Friday, May 26th. It's a big one.

Then, Jeremy Roenick joined the show to talk a little playoff hockey.

THEN, Tommy Dreamer stopped by to deliver us some more Tales From the Indies, before the guys announced the winner of our May contest, in which we asked you, the fans, to name yourselves.

And finally, E&C dug deep into the world of bad gimmicks, including some bad ones that they had over the years.

Tons of announcements, a couple of guests, and tons of gimmicks. Here we go.

The Big Red Machine, Kane!
01:56:38
Every episode of E&C's Pod of Awesomeness is a lot of fun, but this one was pretty special because the guys got to sit down with a man who rarely ever does interviews for podcasts. The Big Red Machine and WWE legend, Kane!

Kane, known as Glenn Jacobs to those who will be voting in Knox County's mayoral election next spring, talked about everything, from his career in politics to being proud the WWE Women's Division, and how hard the decision was to wrestle as a different rendition of Kane, one without the signature mask.

Also, the guys tell stories about their time in WWE with Glenn, and Christian details the nightmares he used to have about Kane before he met, and started working with, him.

Plus, some more hockey talk, an update on how our May fan name contest is going, and we open up the voicemail box to see what you guys are up to.

Here we go.

The Young Bucks Discuss Dream Opponents, Facing the Hardy Boyz, ROH, and WWE
01:39:01
Welcome, ladies and gentlemen, to another episode of E&C's Pod of Awesomeness. For your safety, do not listen while operating heavy machinery.

On today's show, Edge and Christian talk to one of wrestling's most exciting tag teams, THE YOUNG BUCKS. Matt and Nick gave us a ton of their time, talking about what it was like to face their childhood heroes, the Hardy Boyz, dream opponents they'd like to have a match with, getting ribbed at a live event by Edge, and how they come up with their insane signature moves, like the IndyTaker.

Also, we talked to the winner of our voicemail contest, Andrew, AKA Stone Cold, caught up with writer Mike Kingston, who talked about his latest comic "Headlocked," and the guys made their early Stanley Cup Final picks.

Shhhhuuup, here we go!

NXT's Eric Young, Tommy Dreamer's Tales From the Indies, and Stone Cold vs. Morgan Freeman in Voicemail FINAL!
01:33:34
Welcome to the latest edition of E&C's Pod of Awesomeness, the podcast that strives to make you look weird for laughing loudly in public.

On this week's show we sneak-attacked NXT's Eric Young, who thought he was headed to Christian's for lunch, only to learn that he was going to be a guest on the pod. Eric was fine with it, though, and talked about his journey to NXT, lacking life skills, the abundance of wrestling talent that has come from Canada, and training The Perfect 10, Tye Dillinger.

Also, Tommy Dreamer dropped in to tell some more Tales From the Indies. Broken rings, angry managers, and ideas for how Tommy could work an eye patch into his matches--this Tales From the Indies had it all.

And finally, after weeks of great entrants, we narrowed the field down to two; Stone Cold vs. Morgan Freeman in our voicemail impression final! It was tough to choose a winner, but one of these two impression gurus will be making an appearance on next week's show!

Here we go.

Among the many topics discussed were Dash and Dawson's route to becoming a tag team, their RAW debut, Scott's love of Bret Hart, and the process of coming up with the Shatter Machine.

Also, Christian's cat made his Pod of Awesomeness debut and E&C whittled the finalists in our voicemail contest down, from five to two. Next week we crown a winner, who will then be invited onto the following week's show!

02:08:19
After an eventful WrestleMania weekend and a RAW and Smackdown full of surprises, E and C have a JAM-PACKED Pod of Awesomeness for you. To give you an idea of how much awesomeness we're about to hit you with, if this show were a bag of groceries, the bag would break from being too heavy and groceries would be all over the supermarket parking lot.

First and foremost, the guys got to talk to brand new WWE Hall of Famer Beth Phoenix! She took us behind-the-scenes of her HOF induction, talked about some of the people who inspired her throughout her career, discussed Tony Chimel surprising Edge, and much more.

Also, E&C shared their thoughts on WrestleMania and the Undertaker, who appears to have wrestled in his last match, before revealing the #MockMockMania results for the weekend. Who won this year, Edge or Shane?

Shane McMahon on WrestleMania, AJ Styles, and What it Was Like Getting in the Ring With Mick Foley
01:23:01
WrestleMania 33 is a mere two days away, and for Episode 2 of E&C's Pod of Awesomeness we were lucky enough to talk to another one of the event's main participants...Shane McMahon!

Shane-O gave us a ton of his time, talking about...

- Making his return last year against the Undertaker.

- What he expects during his match with AJ Styles.

- And what it was like the first time he was on the receiving end of Mick Foley's Mr. Socko.

That, plus the guys weigh in on whether or not they think last week's Howard Finkel impression was done by Luke Gallows, Tommy Dreamer joins the show to debut a new segment called "Tales From the Indies," and we announce a voicemail contest with a prize that can only be described as...awesome!
