Episode 48: Lee's Spiritual Journey
01:20:09
This week Nash sits down with Lee Te (@ ) and Rev. Keith Mozingo from Founders Metropolitan Church-or what some people call ’the gay church’.

Lee opens up about her catholic upbringing in the Philippines and how some of those experiences began to warp her relationship with religion, spirit and ultimately herself. She also shares her struggles with finding purpose and self love and how re-connecting with faith ultimately aided her in this journey.

Rev. Mozingo talks about how his church is vastly different than what most would expect.

Do you have your own experience with religion, churches, falling out of faith/reconnecting, whatever? Drop them below. If you’re interested in being a guest and sharing your own story- please head over to our website!

Episode 46: Sarah Parlow
01:19:03
We had the immense privilege of sitting down with the wonderful Sarah Parlow who opened up and shared her journey as a trans women transitioning over the past 24 YEARS.

Sarah shares how she lived as a gender nonconforming youth while growing up in an extremely conservative-and homogenous- area of Pennsylvania as well as the experience of medically transitioning in the late 90’s. She speaks brilliantly on the topic of shame both surrounding trans* people, and those who date us- and ways that we can combat these false stigmas. She also discusses disclosure and how to judge when is the right time- it’s tricky and every situation and person is different.

The knowledge and insight we can gain from our elders is invaluable, listen to them, learn from them, thank them.

Ep 39: Myles Lawter
51:28
This week we sit down with Myles, a southern queer currently living in the Windy City. And let us just say- their southern accent DOES NOT disappoint, nor does this episode.

We talk about identifying as nonbinary and how that relates to navigating pronouns, seeking medical treatment and top surgery. Myles elaborates on the differences in seeking HRT while in the rural south, compared to big city Chicago, and how finding Camp Gender Bender was positively life altering for them. They also discuss being on hormones and how that has affected them not only physically, but mentally as well and how those changes have related to his current relationships.

Myles also highlights their privileges and how they have provided access that others in our community do not have. Accessibility to trans* related services and the inherent privileges certain people possess is a huge issue not often talked about. Thank you Myles for being honest and touching on these subjects!

Fun fact- C and Myles not only access HRT through the same LGBTQ+ center (Howard Brown Health in Chicago) but they also had the same top surgeon (Alison Shore)!

As always, please drop us a comment and let us know what you thought of the episode. We couldn’t do this without yalls support.

Episode 37: Tough Mudder Fuckers
01:07:28

In this episode we meet Taylor Branham- A 28 year old trans man living in Los Angeles, CA. Last year he was featured in a mini documentary series for The CW called “Tough Mudder: Tougher Together”. It largely focused on his recovery from gender confirmation surgery, Metoidioplasty, and rehabilitating his body to compete in a Tough Mudder event (Tough Mudder is one of those really fun obstacle course races.)

Taylor: “For me, Tough Mudder is a way of life, not just an annual event. As a man of transgender experience, Tough Mudder is tangible proof of my body and mind’s ability to overcome all obstacles. I use my experiences and hardships on the course as a reminder of my strength in daily life... A reminder to stay humble, to hustle and to know what it means to put in the work.”

*Special Side Note: Use Taylor’s special 30% OFF promo code for any first time Tough Mudder event of the 2019 season!

Hail and Eli met when Eli (still unaware of his trans identity) moved to Sonoma County, CA, 10 months ago to work on a small farm run by Hail (who's identified as trans for five years and is several years into transitioning). Though very different personalities, they've struck an unlikely friendship farming together, and especially with Hail's coming out to Eli, which caused Eli to realize that there's a word for how he's always felt. Eli has now come out and started T, with much support and encouragement from his "fairy-trans-godbrother" Hail.
