014 - 10 Things We've Learned About Hope (and how you can get some) Part 1
Brooke McGlothlin and Stacey Thacker wrote Hope for the Weary Mom: Let God Meet You in Your Mess several years ago. It was literally birthed in a closet during a hurricane…and we don’t just mean figuratively (although the “hurricane of motherhood” certainly contributed to the message!).
Since that time, they've matured, and their kids have matured. They've learned a lot of things about hope, one of which is that we always need it. Weariness comes and goes in cycles. Hope is something we can't do without.
On this episode of the Million Praying Moms Podcast, listen as they partner with Erin Mohring in sharing 10 truths they've learned about hope since writing the original Hope for the Weary Mom. It will be an amazing reminder of the deep truths we all desperately need, so tune in now!

008 - How to Talk to Your Kids About Puberty
As far as phases of life go, puberty is probably the most awkward.
Zits, body hair, strange new odors, breasts, cracking voices, and the list goes on. The transition from childhood to adulthood makes for some strange new life experiences.
That’s why it’s helpful to have a guide. Someone who’s been there, done that, and can help you see your way through.
Listen to today's episode as Brooke and Erin talk again to Luke and Trisha Gilkerson, authors of Changes: 7 Biblical Lessons to Make Sense of Puberty, about this vital conversation between parent and child, and how to make it as painless as possible!
We can do this!

007 - A biblical worldview for teaching your kids about sex!
Did you know that if you wait until your children are around 9 years old to talk to them about sex, you’ve probably waited too long.
That age shocks us, too. Years ago, when we first started thinking through talking to our kids about sex, the age of first pornography viewing among boys was around 11.
We don’t even want to know what it is now.
If that doesn’t convince you that the time is now to talk to your kids about sex, we don’t know what will. The evil isn’t just out there anymore. We’re naive if we think our kids have to search for, look for something evil to view.
Evil is looking for them.
Join Brooke and Erin on today's episode as they talk to Luke and Trisha Gilkerson of Intoxicated on Life about creating a healthy, biblical view of sex…
Having, “The Talk.” Take a deep breath, and let's do this!

004 - When Trauma Strikes: One Mom's Story of Brokenness and the Power of Prayer
On May 3, 2017 Jen Murray watched her 10 year old son, Brooks—one-fourth of her quadruplet boys—slowly veer off the track and collapse after running a mile at a community event. She watched, helplessly, as trained medical professionals administered CPR over and over again and heard the words no mother ever wants to hear: "There's no pulse."
God saved Brooks' life that day, miraculously raising him from the dead, and in the process, the Murray family found a thankfulness and gratitude for daily life they never had before. Today's episode is a tear-jerker. You might want to have some tissues nearby as you listen to Jen tell the story of that day, and how God has provided for them each day since.
Note: Had it not been for the medical professionals who just "happened" to be nearby refusing to give up on Brooks, he wouldn't be with us today. We'd like to take a second to thank all EMS workers who so generously give of themselves, even and especially when they're off duty.

003 - The (Parenting) God Dare: Choosing to Follow God No Matter What it Costs
What do you do when God asks you to take a dare and do something different in your parenting than everyone else around you? How do you deal with feelings of awkwardness or isolation that come from choosing something different from the norm? Kate and Mike Battistelli, parents of GRAMMY award-winning Contemporary Christian recording artist Francesca Battistelli, were incredibly intentional about the way they raised their daughter, and the way they lived their lives. Kate's new book, The God Dare, demonstrates the power of saying "Yes!" to God, no matter the cost, and in this episode, we explore what that choice cost them, and why they would make the sacrifice all over again.
If you've experienced the difficulties of being an intentional Christian parent, this episode is for you!

002 - The High Highs and Low Lows of Adoption
We recently polled a large group of Christian moms about their prayer lives and found that many of the moms who have been Christians for a long time DON'T actually have the kind of prayer life they believe they SHOULD have. What grabbed us the most from all those responses were the moms who said, "I'm just not sure I see the value of prayer anymore. I've prayed for years and God just doesn't seem to answer me." Since she was 15 years old, author Kelli Stuart felt lead to adopt a child, but the journey toward the fulfillment of that dream was filled with very high highs and very low lows. In this episode, Kelli will be joining us today to tell her story. Our hope is that you'll be inspired by it, and find the strength you need to keep praying. So grab that laundry basket, turn on your bluetooth in the car, or pour your favorite warm cuppa something and let's dive in!

001 - The Future is Male AND Female
It's pretty easy to get consumed with the problems and perspectives of one gender or the other, and forget, or just not pay attention to, the things that both boys and girls are struggling with today and how they affect everyone involved.
Brooke recently had an eye-opening experience with her sons where she realized that she was only looking at half the equation. The boy-centered perspectives that have formed the lens through which she sees the world for so long were limiting her from having a true understanding of the bigger picture (and stealing her ability to have true compassion).
A few talks with Teri Lynne Underwood, the new Million Praying Moms Girlmom Content Manager, and things made a whole lot more sense. Turns out having the proper perspective can't happen unless you consider everyone involved.
Join Brooke and Erin on today's episode as they interview Teri Lynne, author of Praying for Girls: Asking God for the Things They Need Most about the benefits of taking time to understand the bigger picture on this episode of Million Praying Moms.
