EP #117: Being a Change Maker with Ryan Lindner
If you’ve ever wanted to make something in your life different, you’ve felt some resistance before. Sometimes, that resistance comes from an outside source, and others, it comes from within. The most effective change-makers are able to identify a source and figure out how best to address an issue. What if the change you want to make isn’t just about you?
Ryan Lindner is a coach that feels it’s more important that his clients identify than it is for him to tell them. In fact, it’s not even his job to know what it is. He’s there to facilitate the right introspection process. This episode is designed to help you get “unstuck” and move from a person with an important role to a fulfilled member of a greater cause.

There is good reason why young people are encouraged to try playing an instrument. Creativity has been a recent topic in The Impactmaker Movement and music is great way to express it. EP #113: Wealth over Riches with Jim Grace
There’s a different between money and fulfillment. And so there is a difference between wealth and riches. The financial services industry has taken on a few different forms over the years. Recently, there is a deeper focus on purpose. It’s not always about the numbers. A good money manager has to provide good returns but what does a good financial planner have to provide?
Jim Grace is the Director of Wealth Management at Silver Pine Capital. His focus is to help people understand their “why” and how to live out their purpose with what they have. Money is a tool that can be used wisely or not and it’s a matter of aligning it with your goals that determines your success. You can build riches but that doesn’t mean you have wealth.

EP #111: Generation Impact with Sharna Goldseker and Michael Moody
We’ve said before that giving is contagious. It applies to many aspects of life. The more intentional you are about what and how you give, the more effect you will have. It can be challenging to dedicate the time for deep thought related to the subject. It’s much easier to stroke a check or even sign up to volunteer at a local event that is already organized. If we all spent a little more time researching how to get involved in the things that we can be most effective, the world will be an even better place.
Research isn’t always easy but it’s necessary. The philanthropic world has plenty of data. We should use it to determine the best ways for us to help our fellow humans. Sharna Goldseker and Michael Moody have each had extensive careers working with foundations, donors, and other generous people. They each desire to make a better connection between giving people and needy causes. Their research found some interesting things about how the current generation wants to do positive impact. You’ll want to note their findings to help you use your gifts and skills for the most good.

EP #110: JSG Investing with Dan Katz
Where you invest these things will say a lot about what you think is important. Or does it? What is the story that you would want to tell about yourself? Many people have their investments (of either type) on auto-pilot and don’t consider what they are actually supporting. Today’s information age makes it much easier to educate ourselves about what it is that we are investing in.
Time is certainly a valuable resource. In decades past, it might have been hard to research where our financial investments go. You might have had a employer sponsored retirement plan that was invested in a default fund. This may or may not have been a good financial investment for you, but what did it do for the world? Dan Katz is the the Co-Founder of Amberwave Partners and investment firm that has developed a new concept to consider - JSG investing. Listen in as Dan explains this new concept that could help you reach your impact goals.

EP #109: Being Energy Aware with Bran Katanec
We all have things that we get excited about. Unfortunately, we don’t always seek them. It seems obvious, but the world can often distract us from what is most meaningful. The most you concentrate on what is, the more you’ll find yourself making a positive impact.
Bran Katanec is energy aware. Although, he would tell you that wasn’t always the case. He grew up in war-torn Croatia and there were times that his life was troublesome. He credits music with saving his life and it is that outlet that allows him to find fulfillment these days. He coaches people to help them find what brings them the most energy and use keen awareness to find it. This episode will help you concentrate on what is most important to you.

EP #108: Doing the most good with Marina Feffer
Our podcast is all about using your gifts and skills to make a positive impact in the world. We can all do something. But what if we all did the MOST we possibly could? What if it was prioritized above all else?
When you operate from a mindset of abundance, it’s a lot easier to put giving first. Everyone’s “enough” is going to look a little different but whatever it is, finding it leads to finding the most good that you can do. Today’s episode covers today’s wealth gap (the current need for positive impact) and some steps to slim that margin (the actions we should take). EP #94: Your Leadership Voice with Iggy Perillo
We are all leaders in our lives whether it is by title or by default. Some of the most recognized leaders didn’t set out to have that role. They were passionate people who found a strong purpose. You might say they settled into their positions but settling is far from a leader’s mentality. In fact, leaders seek challenges and help others overcome them. This yields growth.
Working with sled dogs in the wilderness sounds like challenging work. This was one of the challenges that led Iggy Perillo to her career in leadership development. Deep work isn’t always complicated but it is necessary. It can come in many different forms and each person has their own ideal style. EP #93: Internal Health with Simone Giangiordano
Taking care of yourself is among the most important things in life but it isn’t always that easy to do. High achievers tend to work hard at making something great or taking care of others and fail to consider their own situation. Burnout isn’t enjoyable but sometimes it’s necessary. The body shuts down and doesn’t allow you to continue down a destructive path.
Most impactmakers have experienced some form of burnout because we care so much about our work. We care about doing great things with the gifts and skills we have. However, we can’t do them if we are without the energy we need to be effective. If you are burnt out, you maybe have to take some time off. It will seem counterproductive but it’s absolutely necessary to get back to the effectiveness you desire. Simone Giordano had to be told she needed to take a break before she realized how much she need it.

Many are equipped to complete one or two of them but struggle with the other(s).
Don Cote is a serial entrepreneur. He started shining shoes when he was a kid and would flip his profits to candy and double his money. Some people have an entrepreneurial mindset but everyone can train themselves to work with a purpose. Don insists that you have to lead instead of sell and leadership starts with self. I studied broadcasting because I wanted to be a media personality. Many people in my life have called me “personality” but not the type I thought I’d be. Impactmaking isn’t about what you are known for or who knows of you. It’s about taking positive actions and communicating a encouraging message in all that you do.
Bill Hobson is a real media star but he wouldn’t describe himself that like that. He’s about as humble as they come. His humility is a positive message in itself. There is too much going on in a cancer patient’s life for them to keep track of their treatments and understand how everything works. What if there was an Amazon for healthcare? There is.
Mental health is just as important as physical health. The Internet has too much information at times and a diagnosis can seem like a death sentence. This is not helpful. Rebecca Owens founded Swelter, a “patient immersion application” to work with clinicians to provide information for patients and drive awareness. Less mental stress means more physical health.
