The Murder of Julie Love
01:11:17

On July 11th, 1988, 27-year-old Julie Love was on her way home from a meeting when she disappeared. Her car was found a few days later and police theorized that she had run out of gas and met with foul play. It became a highly publicized missing persons case and the pressure was on the police to solve it. Julie's family did everything they could to find their daughter. They knew she had not run off because she and her boyfriend, Mark Kaplan, had been talking marriage.

Join Mike and Gibby as they discuss the disappearance and murder of Julie Love. Over a year after Julie disappeared, a 34-year-old woman named Janice Weldon came forward to say that her 24-year-old boyfriend, Emmanuel Hammond, and his 18-year-old cousin, Maurice Porter, were responsible for Julie's murder. This was the information that police needed but had been unable to get on their own. There are a number of twists and turns in this case. Race became a huge factor in this case as an attorney and a judge were killed by mail bombs and a white supremacist group took credit for the killings.

Susan Polk
01:08:48

Susan Polk was convicted of murdering her husband of 20 years, respected psychologist, Felix Polk in 2002. Susan claimed that the killing was self-defense but the prosecution argued that she killed Felix for money and custody of her children because of a contentious divorce. The two were married for 20 years and had 3 children together at the time of the murder.

Join Mike and Gibby as they discuss the life and crimes of Susan Polk. Everything about this case is the stuff that tabloids thrive off. The pair met when Susan was just a teenager and a patient of Dr. Polk. He later divorced his wife to marry Susan. She would later claim that Felix drugged and raped her as a teenager while she was under his care. Susan's trial was sensationalized by the media as she defended herself and made some outrageous claims, leading many to question her mental health.

01:03:04

Joseph Christopher went on a killing spree in 1980 around the Buffalo, New York area that caused the press to dub him the ".22 Caliber Killer." Christopher's murders were racially motivated and he targeted black males. Join Mike and Gibby as they discuss the life and crimes of Joseph Christopher. What happened during this man's life to cause him to begin targeting black males for death. There is a mental illness aspect to Christopher's story as he was turned away from a medical health facility just weeks before his murder spree began. He is thought to be responsible for a number of disappearances of young boys in Florida. There are many years where John seemingly committed no crimes. Is that possible for a predator like McRae? Stanley Tookie Williams
01:13:35

Tookie Williams was a co-founder of the infamous Crips gang in the 1970s in Southern California. Raised by a single mother, Tookie learned how to be tough in order to survive on the streets. He lived the gang life for a number of years and got heavily involved with drugs. In 1979, Tookie was arrested and ultimately convicted of murdering four people. He was sentenced to death.

Join Mike and Gibby as they discuss the life and crimes of Tookie Williams. This is a man who undoubtedly committed a laundry list of crimes during his life. But, the four murders for which he received the death penalty didn't seem to be gang related. Tookie is also an interesting study in that he seemingly turned his life around in prison. He began writing children's books denouncing the gang lifestyle on which he had been such a big influence. The question many people have is whether or not this turnaround was real or whether it was a ploy to try to escape the death penalty.

Arthur Gary Bishop was one of Utah's most infamous killers. Between 1979 and 1983, Bishop murdered five boys, but over years he molested many more. When the police closed in on him they found hundreds of photographs he had taken over the years of many different boys. Many have never been identified so police have no way of knowing how many victims Bishop may have had over the years.

What motivated Bishop to carry out his evil crimes against such a young and innocent group? Was it his excommunication from the church? Was it his claim that he was molested at an early age? The end result was that Bishop preyed upon vulnerable children to satisfy his sick sexual urges.
