Travel Routines, Tricks, Recs, and Some Very Strong Opinions!
01:26:34

We have been traveling quite a bit for our live shows and more, so we thought it was time to share some of our vastly differing opinions when it comes to travel. We talk about hotels, airplanes, beauty routines, packing, planning, and everything in between. Needless to say, we have some differing views on a lot of things! Today, in addition to hopefully amusing you with our strong opinions, we help you navigate some of the more stressful parts of traveling through our own experiences. (And did you know customs has an app?) We share all the things we do to keep organized (and sane!) when it comes to traveling.

Friend of the pod and political writer for FiveThirtyEight, Clare Malone joins us to help sort through the top ten Democratic candidates on stage at the next debate. Clare also breaks down the Republican challengers, too (Bill Weld, Joe Walsh, and Mark Sanford).

We want to break things down so you can understand what's going on and make an informed opinion.

American Royals Book Club + Everything Royal
01:03:13

Our September Book Club is here and we are so excited to dig into Katharine McGee’s American Royals, but beware it’s sprinkled with spoilers! This book posits a world where George Washington was the first King of America rather than the first President. The story follows his descendant, Princess Beatrice and her dramatic road to the throne. We also talk about everything Royal from books, movies, weddings, and gossip, and what we have been reading (and what we are close to putting down!).

01:14:47

It's our June Book Club! Today is Becca's Superbowl... also known as The Idea of You Emotional Support Group. If you’ve been listening for a while you know how OBSESSED we are with this book. Seriously, we’re still trying to figure out how life continues after reading it. We finally get to talk about it today. Becca has begun her healing process through writing her own sequel. In light of this book, Becca and Grace talk about their favorite boy band, leading to a heated debate over whether or not Mark Wahlberg was actually a real member of New Kids on the Block. Finally, we talk about the youngest age we would date and whether that changes if he was famous (hint: it does).

Also in this episode, Grace had a mini college reunion at the Boston live show and Becca is still distraught over this book, but is recovering with the show Dead to Me.

PSA: Tomorrow we are releasing a bonus episode with the incredible writer of this book, Robinne Lee, where we practically beg for a sequel. Don’t miss it!

Ep 57: Makeup Lessons with Cassandra Garcia.
01:45:43

Today we interviewed Cassandra Garcia... makeup artist to THE STARS... and us! Cassandra did our makeup for the NYC live show but she's also the in-house makeup artist for Bobbi Brown AND she does makeup for the cast of SNL. (+ other celebs!!) We gathered ALL your makeup questions for her and put her to the test. You may want to grab a notebook for this one as it gets pretty technical - in the best possible way. We're talking about making your makeup last, under eye concealer that won't settle into fine lines, and more. Do you really need a primer? What about a setting spray? Cassandra also shares her favorite luxury products + cheapie drugstore finds.

PS - the long wear cream eyeshadow we keep talking about is SHORE by Bobbi Brown. Not "Sure" or "The Shore!"

BUT we couldn’t decide… is it a “Young Adult” book? Let us know what you think! In light of this book, we talk about our own secret romances (or lack thereof!), power dynamics in relationships, and how your confidence can shift (for better or worse) over time.

Also, Becca had the worst travel day of her life, Grace is loving @sanctuarywrld on Instagram, and Becca and Grace are both obsessed with the Charlotte Tilbury Wonderglow Primer!

Ep 28: Charlotte Walsh Likes to Win Book Club.
01:04:32

This episode we're discussing our adult book of the month, Charlotte Walsh Likes to Win, by Jo Piazza! We LOVED this book. It's simultaneously such an important book (it's the first fiction book about a woman running for office), but it's also a light, easy read.

This book sparked some important conversation (We were nervous to talk about politics here!)

46:18

But it's not all tough situations! Becca has a work victory, Grace finally got some quality time with her gravity blanket, and we have a new favorite podcast. Plus, we explore the joy that is The Rock's Instagram account.

Ep 26: Save the Date Book Club + All the Nostalgic feels.
46:34

This episode we're discussing our YA book of the month, Save the Date by Morgan Matson. This is the cute story of a big family, + a wedding where anything and everything can go wrong. Spoiler alert (though you probably already guessed it) Becca loved it, Grace was just meh.

This episode made us nostalgic! It gave Becca big family envy and made Grace think about the nice boys she dated in high school. Oh, to be young!

Join us next week for advice, and in two weeks for our "adult" pick: Charlotte Walsh Likes To Win - we both really loved this book and can't wait to chat about it.

Ep 24: Ghosted Book Club, + Our Best (Worst?) Stories of Being Ghosted! (Also, hi from Morocco.)
40:54

This episode we're discussing our "adult" book of the month, Ghosted by Rosie Walsh. Sarah and Eddie fall in love, and then he bails. But what really happens? Turns out they both have some pretty big secrets. There are a few twists in this one (which we didn't see coming), and it inspired us to talk a little bit about dating in New York (it's a battlefield). We both share our best (worst?) stories of being ghosted.

We recorded this episode while on vacation in Morocco. This was one of the best trips either of us have taken and we spill all the details in the post!

We are taking a two week hiatus but will be back on September 26th with an advice ep! In the meantime, our next book is Save the Date by Morgan Matson.

This week, we're answering all your travel questions — from the best apps for flights, our top destinations to travel next, and our packing strategy (or in Becca's case, lack thereof)!

In other news, Grace almost couldn't go on this trip because of her passport drama, Becca's work life had a real turnaround (from low to high in one week), and Grace has a new style inspiration (Dads and retirees?).

Ep 22: Circe Book Club and Hello From Cape Cod.
49:00

This episode we're discussing our YA book of the month (even thought it's not really YA if you ask us), Circe by Madeline Miller. While a knowledge of Greek Mythology is definitely not mandatory to enjoy this book, if you loved mythology in school (we did!) this book will feel like a deeply personal reunion with all your mythology favs. We loved this book!!!

We recorded this episode in Grace's parents' living room on Cape Cod. Cape Cod was both of our highs of the week - Grace came for a week and Becca came for the weekend. So nice to get a little sunshine and relaxation!

Join us on August 22nd for our next Book Club to discuss Circe by Madeline Miller. And we will be putting out a call on Instagram for questions for our next advice episode!

39:04

This episode we're discussing another "adult" (not YA) book, All We Ever Wanted by Emily Giffin. She is one of our favorite authors and we both felt the same way. We didn't know if we'd like it, but we LOVED IT!!!

Also in this episode: Becca's Mexico City adventure (spoiler: she might move there), Grace's recent streak of bad luck (RIP laptop), our instagram obsessions (@thatlinearttho and @sheisnotlost), and much more. Ep 18: Listen To Your Heart Book Club. We picked a bad book. Oops. But also! A fun game, + how we started our podcast.
57:56

This episode we're discussing Listen to Your Heart by Kasie West, which (so sorry) was actually awful. In this episode, we rip apart this book. We both hated it. (Seriously, so sorry!)

But, it's still a good episode. Becca made up a clever new game and we talk about how we started our podcast. But also, Grace's plans to get Becca married off just so that we have a wedding to look forward to, our mutual neon sign obsession, and much much more. Sorry for picking a terrible book but honestly, it is kind of fun talking about how bad this book is!
