The Bloody Truth
01:02:18

18-year-old Michelle Martinko was found brutally murdered in her family’s Buick Electra in the new Westdale Mall parking lot in December of 1979. When good old fashioned police work wasn’t enough to solve the case, it eventually went cold. Until 39 years later - when forensic sciences had sufficiently evolved and a newly assigned investigator brought a fresh perspective, and an innovative idea to the table.

01:13:18

On September 2, 2015, 35 year old pediatric dentist Dr. Kendra Hatcher was tragically murdered in the parking garage of her luxury apartment building in Dallas, Texas. At first glance, police believed it to be a random act of violence or a robbery gone awry.  But Dr. Hatcher was scheduled to leave the very next day on a romantic vacation with her new boyfriend, Dr. Ricardo Paniagua.  As the truth slowly began to unravel, the details of a sinister plan fed by the greed, envy, and obsession of a former scorned lover were eventually revealed.

This is America
53:10

46-year-old Houston native George Floyd’s tragic death at the hands of four Minneapolis police officers galvanized a worldwide movement to end police brutality against Black men and communities of color. His frantic last moments were captured by a passing 17-year-old high school student, and were subsequently broadcast around the entire world. Former MPD Officer Derek Chauvin delicately balanced his knee upon George Floyd’s neck for 8 minutes and 46 horrifying seconds, until his heart stopped beating. Floyd’s murder has confronted every American with a vitally important and timely question: Do Black lives really matter?

A Deal with the Devil
01:08:31

29-year-old Kelsey Berreth fell in love with a Colorado Rancher through an online Christian dating site. After giving up on her dreams in Washington and moving to rural Teller County, CO to be nearer Patrick Frazee, the two quickly became parents after an unplanned pregnancy. But no matter how much Kelsey longed for love and a future with Patrick - he had other women and refused to commit. On Thanksgiving Day of 2018, Kelsey mysteriously vanished after a trip to a local grocery store… but the story was infinitely more complex than police were prepared for, until the Teller County District Attorney made a proverbial deal with the devil that blew the case wide open.

Atlanta's Missing and Murdered Children
01:01:54

Wayne Williams was convicted of the murders of two young adults in 1982, supposedly bringing an end to the reign of terror of the “Atlanta Monster.” But the cases of at least 27 other missing or murdered African American children were abruptly closed in the aftermath of his conviction, leaving the surviving families with little peace, and no semblance of closure. We spoke with three of the Directors of HBO’s new series, “Atlanta’s Missing and Murdered: The Lost Children” - about their experience creating the new groundbreaking series, and what new light they hope to shed on the now 40-year-old cases. Their investigation uncovered shocking details of evidence tampering, perjury, and widespread cover-up at the highest levels of government and law enforcement.

Special thanks to award-winning Directors Sam Pollard, Maro Chermayeff, and Joshua Bennett for participating in this episode.

Justice for DJ
01:23:52

A suicide is frantically called into 911 from a rural trailer in Flintstone, Georgia in October of 2016. 27-year old Donald “DJ” Fickey, Jr. is dead, the result of an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound. But as DJ’s immediate family begins piecing together the last moments of his life - they quickly realize his death was no suicide. A Private Investigator soon joins their quest for justice, and his investigation quickly reveals a tangled web of systemic negligence, bias, and a coordinated cover up among the primary witnesses. The key to cracking the case wide open remains untested and locked away in a police evidence room to this day.

A special thank you to DJ's older sister Amanda Shirley and Private Investigator Eric Echols (TFP Company, LLC) for their participation and contributions to this episode.

A Dallas Police Officer shoots and kills an intruder in her apartment after returning home from a 14-hour shift. In the moments immediately following the interaction - the officer realizes she made a terrible mistake. She accidentally entered the home of a 29-year old Accountant on the floor directly above her apartment, and killed him in cold blood.  But things are not quite what they seem, and it appears there may be a deeper vein of prejudice running through the Dallas Police Department than anyone was previously aware.

Justice for Jessica
40:26

The nearly unidentifiable remains of an 18-year old woman are found burning behind a middle school in Mayfield, KY in 2000. The lead investigator fumbles the crime scene, ignoring vital clues and eventually focusing exclusively on one primary suspect. A judge ultimately dismissed the case, condemning the police work as problematic from the start. Justice seemed out of reach - until an amateur detective set up a Myspace tribute page and hit the streets herself to track down the real suspect.

Addicted to Love

What would you do for love? Some would lie. Others would fight. Few would steal $200,000 and kill a family of three… but one man did.  And he did it all for an internet webcam model that he had never met in real life. A stunning case of internet pornography addiction turns deadly when one man’s lustful desires evolved into misguided delusions of love.

In what some have called the worst case of child abuse in Los Angeles County history, 8-year-old Gabriel Fernandez suffered prolonged torture at the very hands of those entrusted to protect him.  Early reports alleged his death was accidental. But the investigation would quickly reveal a much darker, more evil series of events that would ultimately shake the cracked foundation of the L.A. The Sledgehammer
41:41

February 4th, 2010 left one family’s lives forever mysteriously frozen in time inside of their Fallbrook, CA home. The television was left on, two bowls of popcorn remained on the couch, and the dogs were still out back barking. Joseph, Summer, Joseph Jr., and Gianni McStay had seemingly vanished into thin air. Four days later their vehicle was found abandoned near the U.S./Mexico border - but the case went cold for nearly four years until their bodies were discovered buried in a shallow grave in the harsh Mojave desertscape near Victorville, CA. Police were ultimately left wondering if Joseph McStay's partner in business eventually turned into a partner in crime.

Cruise Control
01:08:41

After experiencing a painful childhood, Timothy Jones, Jr. had always dreamed of creating the perfect family. But sometimes dreams become nightmares. This once loving husband and father of five felt his family slipping away under his oppressively literal interpretation of scripture. Where some men choose love, he chose control. Where some exhibit patience - he devolved into pure unadulterated rage. Where some choose life, he inflicted death – upon those, his most vulnerable godly seeds.
