"EmpowerHER" is all about cutting through the BS fluff to have honest, and entertaining real talk conversations about life, business and relationships. We're all about giving tangible tools, tips & tricks to give you the resources and perspective to take ACTION to build a life you really love.

Episode Date

In this episode:

  • Questions to ask when establishing boundaries

  • Taking full responsibility for your choices

  • Being intentional with your relationships

  • Different boundaries for different seasons

Girl, I am SO excited you are here today because we’re talking about a topic that recently I’ve gotten a lot of questions about, which is how do I “balance it all.”

Truth is, I’m NOT juggling it ALL, so let’s just kibosh that whole idea right now. I am happy & grateful, but I’m only juggling what I CHOOSE to juggle which means I’m really only paying attention to what I have put on my priority list myself. It’s really important that if you’re adding something new into your life right now that you’re just honest about how it’s going to be messy at first!

There’s no way to add something into an already full plate, so something will have to give. We have GOT to set boundaries, and those boundaries are going to change as the seasons of our life changes. So today, I am sharing with you a couple of questions that I ask myself to determine what my boundaries are in whatever season I am in. I hope these are helpful for YOU to set boundaries in your own life & of course I can’t wait to hear what you think!

“You’re feeling the call to wanna honor your priorities and create some boundaries because you need to do it, for your life and for the people around you that deserve the best version of you.”

“Maybe there’s an opportunity that you just don’t know how to say no yet, and that’s something that you want to get intentional about working on.”

“It’s not actually what’s going on or even the choices that we’re making at the end of the day, it’s how we feel about what’s going on.”

“I’m gonna make changes from this place of gratitude, where I am grateful for where I’m at now but I’m excited about where I’m going. And then I’m gonna set boundaries from there.”

“I believe that you should feel empowered to have a life outside of building a business or outside of your career, to have a full complete happy life that you love, even with big goals.”

Building CONFIDENCE as CONSUMERS on Acne Triggers & Navigating skin issues w/ the co-founders of Clearstem Skincare

In this episode:

  • What could be causing acne triggers

  • Ingredients to avoid in your skincare routine

  • Effects of stress & hormones on skin health

  • Understanding what to look for in products & why

Danielle and Kayleigh met when Kayleigh, a successful holistic nutritionist and health & wellness blogger, was dealing with Celiac reactions resulting in severe cystic acne and inflammation. She was working to heal internally but was looking for ways to treat her skin externally as well.

This led her to Danielle, the owner of the San Diego Acne Clinic. After working with Danielle and realizing that our skin absorbs 60% of what is placed on it (including harmful chemicals, cheap fillers and toxic acne triggering ingredients!), Kayleigh realized the true value of skincare and all the ingredients behind it.

After Danielle mentioned that she was beginning to develop her own skincare brand, Kayleigh immediately jumped on board. With her strong nutritional background, obsession for high-quality ingredients and passion for non-toxic, natural skin treatments, it was the perfect match.

I am SO excited for today’s episode because it’s a bit different of a topic, but I know it will provide such incredible value!

Clearstem founders Danielle & Kayleigh join us to chat all things skin health, acne triggers, stress & hormones, and share their very unique story of how they got to where they are today as owners of an incredibly successful skincare company.

They are huge advocates of helping consumers understand how the products we use & environmental issues can affect our skin and really just helping consumers feel knowledgeable to feel empowered to take action & make educated choices.

I’ve gotten a ton of DMs on instagram & questions about skin, so I am pumped to bring this episode to you today & I can’t wait to hear what you think!

  • Go Loko by YG

  • What’s My Age Again by Blink182

“The more information you have, the more power you have.” Danielle

“You can’t take advice from someone who has a different personality profile than you and expect it to go well for you.” Danielle

“The more we can prepare for what’s gonna happen, the easier it is to control that stress anxiety.” Kayleigh

“Business is the ability to solve problems while managing your stress.” Danielle

“Move fast, learn fast… trust your gut, analyze things, make a decision, move forward.” Danielle

“No one has it figured out going in… knowing that and being comfortable asking a million questions and not feeling inferior for asking questions.” Kayleigh

Maybe you should LET IT GO?

In this episode:

  • Letting go of those “should” expectations

  • Giving people grace & taking them off a pedestal

  • Choosing to assume the best in people

  • Loving others wherever they are at

I am SO excited you are here today, it’s a little bit of a curveball in that I’ve never talked about this in this way, BUT I really think it’s going to be impactful. We’re talking about letting “it” go.

& what I’m talking about, is the view of our relationship with our parents and how they “should” act as parents.

Sometimes, it’s not that we JUST need to take action, but that we actually need to look at things through a different lens, and honestly that tiny little reframe can really help us in an impactful way to start making moves right?

I am really excited to share a few tips with you today & I cannot wait to hear what you think girl!!

“Anyone that you’re thinking about that ‘should’ act in a certain way, where is that coming from?”

“Why not just assume the best in people, it feels better. When we’re holding on to grudges or resistance or negativity, that’s not serving anyone and it doesn’t physically feel good in our body.”

“We can choose to love them, and do the only thing that we can do: control ourselves.”

“What our choice to do is? Is to own what we CAN control, which is our thoughts about these people.”

Navigating what you REALLY want & HOW to get there with Libby Crow

In this episode:

  • Feminine vs Masculine energies in goal setting

  • Forgetting the timeline & refusing to settle

  • Realizing you are your own bestie

  • Choosing to be curious instead of comparing

Libby Crow is an entrepreneur, teacher & self-proclaimed human sparkler.

Libby was a teacher who found her path by accident through network marketing and is now the founder of a marketing strategy company.

She runs multiple programs to teach women how to build and scale businesses online and is the co-founder of the Daily Shift - a personal development company for aspiring & accomplished entrepreneurs that she started with her husband.

She has also built a personal brand that earned over 7 figures last year.

What I love MOST about Libby is her ZEST, her spunk, and the HONESTY she brings to this episode.

She tells you what’s up, but in a loving & honest way that makes you want to be best friends with her. In this episode we cover everything from goal setting, figuring out what your thing is, how to move past feeling stuck, asking yourself better questions, to getting clarity on what YOU really want out of life. I really think you’re going to LOVE this episode & as always, I can’t wait to hear what you take from it!!

“Remembering that you have an inner compass side of you, that’s in your belly, it’s in your heart. Most likely not in your head. And that is a better guide than any book you’re gonna read, any course you’re gonna take, any podcast you’re gonna listen to.”

  • Unpretty by TLC

  • Let Me Blow Your Mind by Eve

“If I wasn’t excited about it, you bet your butt I’m not gonna do the work to actually see it out or create something around it.”

“Self-awareness really is number one, slowing down & asking yourself these questions; how am I really really doing? Who am I really really becoming? What would bring me most relief right now? What do I need to feel full?”

“Self-awareness comes from when you realize you’re your own bestie.”

“Entrepreneurship is a shit ton of imperfect messy action and seeing what actually works.”

“The goals you have, are they really yours? Or were they planted in you by someone else?”

“You can’t see the label when you’re inside the bottle.”

How to FEEL the FEAR & keep on MOVING

In this episode:

  • Acknowledging your fears without criticism

  • Disproving the story you’re telling yourself

  • Getting accountability to take action

  • Moving through fear instead of staying stuck

As we know, we create our thoughts right?

And those thoughts drive our emotions which determine whether or not we will take ACTION.

I’ve been thinking of that really basic concept but under the lens of FEAR that we have. In particular those little tiny things that pop up that we get scared of or have a negative emotion to that we just squash down. What that does? Is create a HABIT of hesitation which we KNOW we just do not have time for!

So, today I wanted to share a few TANGIBLE tips to help us take ACTION even when those FEARS creep in.

I just KNOW this will resonate with you & I can’t wait to hear what you think!

“We create our thoughts, our thoughts drive our emotions, & then our emotions determine what type of action we’ll take or if we’ll take action at all.”

“Sometimes we talk ourselves out of even letting ourselves feel the fear or the negative emotion, because we think it’s dumb. But it’s not dumb, if its real to you.”

“We’ve gotta figure out what the story is and then we’ve gotta challenge ourselves to prove that it’s wrong in some ways.”

“At the end of the day, you are not the kind of girl that settles… the girl who’s accomplishing all the things that she wants is just not letting herself stay stuck.”

A simple HACK to take ACTION!

In this episode:

  • Some of the science behind habits

  • Attaching desired habits to current habits

  • Taking action before hitting rock bottom

I don’t know if you’re like me, but sometimes I just want to take over the whole world & do ALL the things.

BUT, sometimes that can leave me feeling overwhelmed because I’m squirelling all over the place & I need to just focus in & take some action.

Today’s episode is all about one super SIMPLE hack I have found for STACKING the habits you WANT to have on top of the ones you already do automatically.

Because taking SOME action, even if it’s just one tiny habit, is always better than ZERO action - and you know we are ALL about that ACTION here. I just know this is going to be impactful & I can’t wait to hear how it helps you girl!

“We are waiting until it’s an actual problem. But in reality, we don’t wanna wait until its a problem, let’s just fix it now.”

“We create this BS story that it would be really hard to make a change, or have that conversation, or start that project, when in reality it’s not that hard.”

“The more that we do something over and over again, the stronger that connection, that network of neurons becomes.”

“You’ve got one life, in which you’re going to do everything you’ve ever done. Let’s act accordingly.”

Finding MAGIC in the MUNDANE

In this episode:

  • Simple ways to find more HAPPINESS in your day to day

  • How the things compound over time

  • Where excitement is DERIVED from in goals

Today... we are talking about WHY we are SO DAMN SERIOUS?!

Honestly, it’s like we are little kids slaying lemonade on the street corner in our Limited Too SWISHY pants…. playing with Barbies and then all of a sudden we are paying taxes and talking about insurance and COUNTING down the days til Friday...

SO…OF COURSE I understand we need to work, we have to do some AUDLTY things…but what about if we gave ourselves a LITTLE MAGIC TODAY to make the PROCESS toward getting where we want to go MORE FUN?

In today's quick hit we touch on how to get obsessed with falling in love with the PROCESS rather than what the PROCESS can produce, and get in the habit of asking ourselves…”HOW can this be more FUN?”

I know it’s not rocket science... but I think it’s actually LIFE changing.

Because it’s DAY changing.

& GOOD days piled on top of each other makes for good weeks, which makes for good months, to years to our entire LIVES right?!

So while often get REALLY caught up in our TO DO LISTS which are important because we have GOALS we want to crush… but what about our TO FEEL LIST?

Because how we FEEL about the goal is even more important than the GOAL itself isn't it?

& GIRL.... how we feel about our LIVES really freaking matters!

Can't wait to hear what you think!

"I’m so obsessed with falling in love with the PROCESS not what the process could produce so I’m constantly asking myself… “How can I make this more fun?” - Kacia Fitzgerald

"People are not LAZY…they just simply don’t have GOALS that inspire them" -Tony Robbins

In this episode:

  • Tilting your environment in your favor

  • Doing your DUTY at full speed

  • Being part of the solution instead of the problem

  • Having tough conversations that matter

Chris Harder is a powerhouse entrepreneur, philanthropist and host of the podcast, For the Love of Money who believes that when good people make good money, they do great things!

His mission is to help people take action towards living their best life because everyone has the right to an abundant lifestyle, and the responsibility to help others have the same.

I am BEYOND pumped for you to hear today’s interview with Chris Harder, a man who has impacted me in a very profound way & has been a mentor for me from afar for years.

I took this opportunity to sit & pick his brain on topics I think we will all find incredibly valuable. We talked about environment, and burnout, and relationships with significant others, about being the most ambitious person in your circle, money mindset & abundance.. And the list goes on. I REALLY think this episode is going to be impactful & I cannot wait to hear what you think!

“You’re not alone that you’re nervous to start, everybody was… that desire was placed in you for a reason. Every single person was put here with a calling.”

  • God’s Plan by Drake

“Your success in life will be in direct proportion to the number of tough conversations you’re willing to have.”

“You have a duty to go where you are meant to go, and it is not up to other people if you’re gonna go there or not.”

“You’re not only hurting yourself when you don’t move forward at full speed, but you’re also hurting the other people that would have been inspired by you and that would have followed the path that you forged.”

“Something is always gonna suffer. That’s the first thing we have to accept. There is no way everything can be on point at all times, and that is okay.”

“Be honest with yourself. Do you have all the money to do all the things you want to do, to create all the impact you wanna create.”

“You’re either making the world better, at its messiest point, by living into your natural talents and strengths that you were given. Or you’re making it worse, by sitting out and letting people around you suffer.”

Navigating a SETBACK

In this episode:

  • Choose to give yourself grace

  • Stopping the self-sabotage train

  • Refuse the victim mentality

  • Taking ownership & asking better questions

Real talk. I think setbacks? Are an opportunity for a comeback, to learn, to grow and they’re really freaking important. BUT, all of that sounds a lot easier said than done. Honestly, it’s really difficult sometimes to not get caught up in those setbacks and let them become these huge problems that cause us to spiral downward. So today, I want to kibosh that, and give you some tangible little hacks you can do to get pumped back up in the midst of setbacks. I really think this will be so useful for us all & I can’t wait to hear what you think!

“We give ourselves grace. We look at life as a journey, and that one setback... is just a little roadbump in this epic journey and path that we’re on.”

“Unfortunately, we take our setback and we actually decide that it means that we have a lack of ability as a person, to accomplish our goals… and that’s really scary.”

“At the end of the day, it’s nobody else’s job to believe in you. It’s your job to believe in you. And when you take that responsibility and ownership, it feels better.”

“As humans we love progress. We also love identifying what we can control.”

“If we don’t have setbacks, how are we gonna learn how to get better?”

“Your thinking is what’s creating what you’re doing, and that’s what you have to change.”

“You can’t build a dream based on only operating in the few moments that nothing feels scary or unsettling.”

“Your thoughts create your feelings, and your feelings drive your actions. And your actions produce your life.”

“You can’t hate yourself to love… you cant drive yourself with anxiety, fear, and rejection and expect to experience positive emotion when you get to the goal. You have to love yourself NOW.”

Start BEFORE you're "READY"

In this episode:

  • Ripping the bandaid & going for it

  • You won’t ever know it all - learn as you go

  • Getting public accountability

  • Making your goal part of your identity

Today’s topic was sparked by an idea I came up with while listening to Taylor Swift in a coffee shop with Lizzie, so you know it’s gotta be a good one. We are talking about starting before you’re "ready".

& of course, because I LOVE giving you tangible tips you can use TODAY, I’m going to break it down into FIVE things you can do to get out of your own way & just START.

“Inaction breeds fear, but it also creates all of these nasty stories that we tell ourselves of why we think that we can’t do something. And sometimes, we never even start the thing, EVER.”

“It’s your responsibility to show up for your life if you’ve got a gut feeling that something should be done with your idea.”

“We never know it all, we have to learn as we go.”

“Sometimes we’ve gotta gut check. We’ve gotta remind ourselves that the magic that we’re looking for in our lives is in the work, or the scary thing that we need to do that we’re actually avoiding.”

Finding JOY & LIGHT during the DARKEST times w/Brittany Crosby

In this episode:

  • How to be helpful to loved ones who are DEEPLY Suffering

  • What NOT to say to those dealing with a severe illness/battle we can't understand

  • The importance of health, wellness & self-awareness

  • Signs & symptoms of ovarian cancer

I am beyond excited that you are here today to hear from our guest, Brittany Crosby.

Brittany is an incredible human who is an online entrepreneur & stage 3 ovarian cancer slayer that I am just OBSESSED with.

I have wanted to have her on the podcast since day one and decided the time was NOW because her story is POWERFUL and could literally SAVE someone's LIFE.

I just know it’s going to motivate you to take ACTION in a lot of different ways.

Brittany was diagnosed with stage 3 ovarian cancer at 27 years old after a TON of doctors told her that it was something different.

Until doctor number 13, diagnosed her with cancer. I know this episode will be powerful because not only do we talk about her incredible story, but we talk about the importance of health, wellness & self-awareness, how to support someone who is going through something that we may just not understand.

We also use a lot of humor, to keep this very heavy topic a little bit light, but I REALLY think this episode is going to be so impactful.

I can’t wait to hear what you think!

  • Head Above Water by Avril Lavigne

  • In My Blood by Shawn Mendes

“You never want to hear the word CANCER, but I was like okay, buckle up. What do we do now?”

“Don’t disappear. Just don’t… you don’t know what to say, so you don’t want to say the wrong thing, so you don’t say anything at all. But cancer is so isolating.”

“Saying that you don’t know what to say, is SO powerful.”

“I have had doctors literally look me in the eye and say, I don’t know how you’re doing this, but whatever you’re doing, keep doing it. This is the only reason you are able to endure all of this.”

“One day, something is going to happen and you’re going to realize how short and fragile life really is.”

Is it really a "SACRIFICE"?

In this episode:

  • Why Sacrifices are REQUIRED to hit big goals

  • What are YOU willing to sacrifice?

  • What are you NOT willing to sacrifice?

  • Choosing sacrifices to avoid burnout

“A sacrifice isn’t really a sacrifice but instead, it’s a down payment on a future abundant blessing.”

Powerful, right!?

I like talking about sacrifices because the truth is, we HAVE to make sacrifices in order to achieve our dreams & goals.

Whether that’s in your career, your relationship, to build a business that you’re obsessed with, sacrifices are REQUIRED.

& I don’t be sacrifice in a negative way, but I love that when you choose to make a sacrifice for your future, you build confidence.

I’m excited to dive into this topic because I found a way to ask myself some questions around sacrifice that I think could help you because they’ve helped me!

“Instead of getting in your head about wanting to balance life perfectly, you instead are going through your life intentionally choosing: this fits my goal right now, this fits what I need, this no longer serves me.”

“Not what you ‘should want,’ because ‘should want’ won’t keep you in it when it gets hard, when you get a curveball, when you’ve gotta choose some things to sacrifice.”

“Different goals require different sacrifices.”

“What a shame would it be to go through life only taking the easy path, never knowing what you’re truly capable of? Because yes you freaking CAN.”

In this episode:

  • Redefining the meaning of failure

  • Pain + reflection = progress

  • Choosing to grow from pain or failure

  • Using pain/failure as a tool to serve us

Girl! I’m excited that you’re here today, I am PUMPED about this topic. Today we are talking about how we can actually use PAIN & even FAILURE to motivate us to take action in our lives.

I feel like as humans, we really do need CONTRAST in our lives.

We need happiness and we need sadness, we need success and we need failure, we need things going according to plan but also we need things going a little off course sometimes. We need those growth opportunities and things we can learn from when they don’t go according to plan and we need to figure it out.

I’m going to give you a couple TANGIBLE actions you can start using TODAY to reframe & redefine failure so that it can start SERVING you. I can’t wait to hear what you think girl!

“It might not workout the way you planned, in fact it probably won’t. But what if it’s BETTER?”

“We’re not gonna grow if something doesn’t go wrong or according to plan because often we are forced to learn from those things that are perceived as failures.”

“As humans we love progress, so we gotta fail so we can learn so we can grow.”

“When we fail, we sometimes falsely identify ourselves as failures if we’re not in a good headspace or we haven’t redefined failure.”

“Every time we’re failing or feeling pain, we get a choice to reframe that failure and put it as a tool in our fricken toolbox.”

  • Dirt Off Your Shoulder by Jay-Z

“What it really came down to is understanding what your motivation is, what your driver is, what gives you fulfillment, and this wasn’t it.”

“It’s the underlying issue. It’s really learning, how can we find that out together without having to tear each other apart.”

“Just acknowledging that, I’m trying to understand but I just don’t get it at this point, how can we find a way for you to maybe explain it better or explain it differently so that I can really understand why you’re upset.”

“It’s just showing effort that I am trying to understand, but I just don’t yet & that’s okay.”

May 02, 2019

In this episode we'll chat about:

  • Paying attention to what pumps you up & what drains you

  • Getting off the “cookie cutter” path

  • Fixing something that bugs you

  • Letting yourself be open-minded

& girl....have you ever thought...what the heck is my “thing”?

As in what’s your career path, is this the right career path? Should you change things up, should you add a side hustle, should you start a blog? What’s your purpose, what’s your PASSION?

This is one of my FAVORITE topics ever & I think it is so relevant because I know, from the messages & questions I’ve received, we WANT to talk about this & really figure out, what IS our thing?!

I wanted to come at this with the lens of how I have started to navigate how to feel fulfilled & excited in PURSUIT of figuring out what my “thing” is, even when it feels uncertain.

I just know you are going to LOVE this one & the tangible tips I lay out for finding your “thing.”

“We’ve gotta get out of our own damn way to do something different, to have a different experience, because that is what life is all about.”

“Happiness & fulfillment are not a destination.”

“I think if we commit to going through life adding things that bring us joy, and subtracting things that don’t bring us joy, that this is going to be one hell of a ride that we’re excited about.”

“Direction is so much more important to speed… it’s all about the pursuit of getting there & staying open minded.”

“You are holding the keys to your life, and your experiences and how much you’re willing to push yourself outside of your comfort zone might be the very thing that shapes you as a person.”

Self Care, Mental Health & ENDING the STIGMA with Dr. Christina

In this episode:

  • What therapy is vs what therapy is not

  • Supporting those around us who are struggling with mental health issues

  • Combating mental health stigma with the movement

  • Mental health practices for everyone

Dr. Christina Iglesia, is a clinical psychologist who provides therapeutic services in the San Francisco Bay Area.

The stigma that her patients bring into therapy has been an enduring theme as well as a notable barrier to treatment. It is with this in mind that she created the #therapyiscool mental health action campaign, with the intent to encourage authentic conversations about mental health. This mental health campaign is a call to action on two fronts. One brings attention to the matter of mental health and removes its stigma. The other provides much needed funds for mental health treatment.

Today’s episode with Dr. Christina is such a POWERFUL conversation around mental health and I am SO excited to share it with you all. She is incredibly insightful and not only provides tangible tips for anyone who are just wanting to be in our best mental health mindset, but also for those of us who have others in our lives that are struggling with depression, or addiction, or wanting to see a therapist or needing to & not knowing exactly how to navigate that.

We talk about how to actually have more authentic conversations about mental health & to encourage this dialogue in society. Her campaign #therapyiscool is something I know we can stand behind together & you’re gonna want to stick around to the end of this episode for something extra special I decided to do.

“Us as women can do hard things. There’s a reason that we are the ones birthing children.”

  • Shake It Off by Taylor Swift

“Anyone who is open to personal growth, can benefit from therapy.”

“This is something that doesn’t have to be for a certain subset.”

“When you’re trying to find the words to express concern for somebody in your life you have to really think this through & be mindful of how are my words going to be interpreted.”

“People who have a support system, do better in treatment.”

“It is hard to navigate life completely on our own even if we don’t have any struggles. We need connection. We need human contact.”

“We have to be mindful about what signals our body is telling us, and then we have to listen to it.”

Building BELIEF in your DREAMS

In this episode:

  • Borrowing belief when you need it

  • Act like your future self now

  • Putting in the reps

  • Being willing to suck until you don’t

I am so excited you are here today for this topic because I feel like it is just so relevant.

Regardless of your stage of life, or tenure in your career path, if your an entrepreneur or not, we all have to constantly work on building belief in ourselves in order for us to do ANYTHING in life.

& honestly the more I think about it- I am more afraid of NOT TRYING than I am of failing, mainly because I KNOW I will fail but also because underneath that is the constant striving that I have towards building up my own belief muscle.

Today I wanted to dig into three main ways that you can start borrowing belief until you can BUILD your belief on your own. I hope you get some EPIC takeaways & I can’t wait to hear what you think!

“It’s gonna take you time, but what’s the freakin alternative? You’re not gonna give up on your dreams. Not You. Not this time.”

“I’m more afraid of not trying, and living a life of shoulda woulda couldas, than I am of FAILING.”

“We’re instead gonna ask questions like, how good can I get? How far can I go? How many people can I impact? How many minds can I blow, including my own?”

“Are you willing to suck until you don’t suck anymore?”

“It’s all about the confidence deposits that you put in your bucket along the way in pursuit of where you wanna go. It’s not about the end goal.”

Overcoming FEAR & setbacks to LEVEL UP

In this episode:

  • Identifying your fears & limiting beliefs

  • Understanding your power

  • Holding tight to your vision

  • Strengthen your mindset through meditation

After experiencing the hardest year of her life in 2018, Kelly Callaghan began to see things in a different light.

There was a long period of time where she truly felt like she was broken beyond repair. Going from one of the most positive people to a person who battled with acknowledging her own self worth was undeniably heart wrenching.

Kelly could not understand how her life went from a such a "perfect" way into something so dark, uncontrollable + exhausting and she knew she had to do something.... and BOY DID SHE.

Today’s episode is a POWERFUL one.

Kelly Callaghan is a serial entrepreneur, beauty business mentor, an international spray tan educator, has built multiple 6-figure businesses and is now the host of the podcast Wake Up to Level Up and hosting a live event to empower women to level up in their lives.

Kelly’s story of her “rebirth” as she calls it, is incredibly inspiring & I know there are so many of you out there who will resonate with her feelings of despair.

This girl has had some crazy curveballs but she has really leaned into the power of her mindset, and she’s got some really incredible tools she shares with us about stepping out of fear and into purpose.

“You are doing yourself, and anybody else that you’re supposed to be serving, a disservice by not accomplishing what you set yourself out to do.”

  • Me Too by Meghan Trainor

“We are conscious creators of our destiny and what is going on in our lives and we have to take ownership of that.”

“Once you make the decision to do something, you have to have that vision held tight and keep that goal in focus.”

“Anytime I’m feeling a negative feeling like fear, any low-vibe energy, it’s because I’m not being grateful.”

“By becoming self-aware and asking yourself those deep rooted questions, you will be able to find the confidence within to be able to swerve.”

YOU choose: The POWER of "I AM"

In this episode:

  • The words we use have SO much power

  • ‘I am’ & ‘I am not’ statements

  • Conditional vs situational

  • Are your beliefs serving you?

In today’s episode we are talking about LANGUAGE & how the words that we use have so much power.

It’s so important to take the chance to pop the hood & get a different perspective from someone else on those things you may be saying to yourself, especially when we are talking about statements like “I am” or “I am not" right?

I for one am constantly questioning my own “I am” statements to basically see if I agree with what I am saying & if they’re serving me. & girl, if they are NOT serving you, it’s time to CHALLENGE them & ask more questions.

“What you believe that you are, you will act in accordance with. What you believe that you deserve, you will go get.”

“These things that we’re saying, as if they’re conditional statements like ‘I am’ or ‘I am not’ or ‘I’m not,’ those things can change with just a little bit of effort & a desire to change.”

“Sometimes we blatantly say that we are or are not something, & then sometimes it’s actually ingrained in us.”

“Sometimes, we have to remember that we don’t change things until they become extremely inconvenient or bring tremendous discomfort.”

“What are the ‘I am’ statements that you’re saying? Are they true? And more importantly, are they serving you?”

In this episode Patrice Washington (on Instagram @seekwisdompcw) gives us the RUNDOWN on:

  • Redefining WEALTH in today's culture

  • The difference between Wisdom vs Knowledge

  • How we can leave BLAME behind

  • & how NOTHING is permanent

Patrice Washington is an award-winning author, transformational speaker, hope-restoring coach, and media personality.

Patrice got her start as your favorite personal finance expert, “America’s Money Maven”, having tremendous success with her “mindset approach” to personal finance.

She has since expanded her brand and mission, encouraging women to chase purpose, not money.

Patrice is committed to redefining the term “wealth”, using its original meaning, “well-being”. She encourages women to have “wealth” in all aspects of their lives by pursuing their purpose, being fulfilled, and earning more without ever chasing money.

Through her teachings, Patrice empowers women to look at life through the lens of abundance and opportunity, instead of lack and scarcity.

I so deeply admire & respect how Patrice is showing up in the world & the content and WISDOM that she shares with her community.

Patrice is committed to redefining what wealth really means to our generation and her entire story is a roller-coaster of ups & downs.

In this episode we dig into why WISDOM is so important to seek over knowledge, how to redefine wealth & what it means, and some of the pillars for us to have this complete happy life we are excited about. She is all about mindset AND taking action, which I just KNOW you will all vibe with.

Can’t wait to hear what you think girl!

“Chase PURPOSE not MONEY.”

  • All of My Life by Erica Campbell

“The difference is, knowledge is just getting information but wisdom is knowing how to apply the information that you have.”

“A part of seeking wisdom is getting wise counsel, and is being vulnerable enough to say I don’t know what I don’t know.”

“Encouragers need encouraging. Sometimes people who are very encouraging are the ones who get left off the list.”

“The frustration comes from wanting to know exactly how it’s gonna go and then that prevents you from taking the next best step.”

“Clutter is the physical manifestation of chaos in your mind.”

“A lot of the times the things that we’re fearful of are not even real, they are stories that we made up.”

Maybe you should say NO?!

In this episode:

  • If it’s not a HELL YES - it’s a no

  • The guilt of saying no

  • Setting your REAL priorities

  • Creating a schedule BASED on your priorities

How is it that I am adding MORE to my plate, but I am NOT feeling drained.... a question I've been asking myself lately.

& Girl, I am SO excited that you are here today because I think this topic around boundaries, priorities & saying NO is so important.

Today I wanted to share some tangible action steps you can take to manage your time, energy & stay true to your priorities that have helped me, cuz ultimately, I want you to be able to say NO to the things that deep down don’t feel like a HELL YES in order to have time and bandwidth and energy to do the things that actually make you feel excited & fulfilled.

“If it feels good to be you, you’re going to do things that are in line with your character.”

“I know, that me being the best version of me is going to only impact our relationship in a really meaningful way.”

“I’m okay with saying no, because I have a plan.”

“If it’s not a hell yes, it’s gotta be a no.”

“You do not have to say yes, just because you were invited. You can decline.”

“Do you really want the people that don’t honor & respect your priorities in your life? Are you living a life that you’re excited about?”

STOP feeling like SHIT and LIVE your KICK ASS LIFE with Andrea Owen

In this episode:

  • How feeling SHAME is normal

  • Dealing with your inner critic

  • Why Confidence is not inherent but BUILT

  • Taking Radical Responsibility & dropping your masks

Andrea Owen is a mentor, life coach, author & the host of the Your Kickass Life Podcast.

In 2007 she hit rock bottom while going through a nasty divorce & jumping into a new relationship that ended 9 months later after finding out he had lied about having cancer to cover up his drug addiction.

She had isolated herself from nearly all of her friends, quit her job & moved out of her apartment to move in with him. She knew she needed a MASSIVE change. Even while in the worst circumstances of her life, she had a tiny bit of hope that led her to ask the universe for help. & GIRL- I am SO excited for you to listen to this episode where we dive in to her work with Brene Brown & talk about shame, numbing, building confidence and of course her new book where she breaks down different habits that we are working through and how we need to get out of our own way.

Andrea is SO big on tangible, real talk advice but delivered in language like you’ve been best friends for years. I love her style & approach and I just know you will too!

“Sometimes we wake up with anxiety & its just unexplained. Sometimes we just feel grumpy. That’s ok, you can feel stuck sometimes and know that you will eventually not be there anymore.”

  • Muthafucka by Beware of Darkness

“Shame is just a normal human emotion & experience, you can’t get rid of it.”

“What at the end of your life are you gonna be proud of? What at the end of your life are you going to regret?”

“Your inner critic lives in your comfort zone.. It has one job, and that job is to keep you there.”

“You gain confidence by the success that you have on the other side, and sometimes that success is actually failing, but knowing that you lived through it.”

“Confidence is one of those things you get by doing. It’s not inherent.”

In this episode:

Why not you? Honestly girl, why NOT?

Why not YOU to chase that big goal, or change career paths, or to accomplish that thing that’s in your gut that you want to do?

Today I wanted to dive into what might be getting in our way & keeping us from going after the things we want in life.

Cuz girl we both know, we often look for the reasons we can’t instead of looking for the reasons we can and for me, there are three main things I tend to blame my lack of action or ability that I want to dig into with you: time, external resources or lack of experience.

By changing the story you are telling yourself, you CAN accomplish anything. Can’t wait to hear what you think of this one girl!

“Each choice that we make, builds our moments, which builds our days, our weeks, our months, our years. Over time, that’s literally how we build our whole freakin life!”

“We look for the reasons that we can’t. But couldn’t we as easily look for the reasons that we can?”

“As we know, action brings clarity. And that clarity and consistent action brings so much confidence.”

“You’ve gotten through things you never thought you’d get through, yet here you are alive and kicking butt.”

“You were given this dream, & this life circumstance, & this struggle, to get through it, to show that it’s possible, and to be the representation of what is not yet being represented.”

“Everything that we’ve ever done, we had to do for the first time.”

Apr 01, 2019

In this episode:

  • Having an abundance mindset

  • Using competition to step up our game

  • You can’t serve everyone alone

  • Stop living in the space of scarcity

I believe to my core that there is enough in this world for ALL of us to be successful in life AND in business and that we as women, are BETTER together.

In today’s episode we are talking about living in an abundance mindset, but also why we actually do need competition as a whole because competition gives us a reason to step up our own game. Of course, because we are all about ACTION, I want to give you a couple of tangible things you can implement or tweak your mindset around to see competition as an awesome thing.

I am so excited you are here to listen today & I cannot WAIT to hear what you think!

“We always get a choice. We get a choice to acknowledge that competition is necessary for us to step up our game.”

“There is room for all of us to be successful as women, and together we’re better.”

“Wouldn’t you rather, just because it would feel better, be authentically happy for her rather than discrediting her success?”

“Are you so damn focused on her, that you’re not even getting to work on you and your goals?”

“We are the ones that need to believe in ourselves, we don’t need anyone else to believe in us.”

Going from GOOD to GREAT

In this episode:

  • The feeling of wanting more

  • Not staying stuck in good

  • Striving for what COULD be

  • Embracing the GROWTH in the process

Today’s topic is one of my very favorite things to talk about. It is the concept of going from good to great, and I really think this will resonate with you.

Maybe you have thought about this before, or maybe this is a totally new concept to you, regardless I am SO excited to share it with you. I’ve been thinking about this in two main ways that it’s cause me a bit of discomfort & ended up holding me back.

First, comparing my good to someone else who is worse off so that I feel guilty for wanting more. And second, when I feel like wanting great or wanting more is selfish simply because I am so fortunate already.

I want to share with you how I have managed to constantly push myself to go from good to great, as well as how to check myself when I feel a bit complacent. Hope this helps you girl, and I can’t wait to hear what you think!

“Why not decide, that you have that gut feeling in you for a reason.”

“It’s hard for people to be what they can’t see.”

“Tip toe if you must. Start with one good thing and decide, nope. Throwing in the towel on good, I’m going for great. I’m pushing for great.”

“At the end of the day, ACTION brings CLARITY. Don’t wait to get motivated, put yourself in action. Give up good & go for great.”

  • How to disregard or re-bale your fear

  • Creating a sense of self-belief

  • Listening to your gut

Maxie McCoy is a writer and speaker obsessed with giving women the tools they need to believe in themselves.

Committed to the global rise of women, she writes weekly inspiration on maxiemccoy.com.

She is the author of, "You’re Not Lost: An Inspired Action Plan for Finding Your Own Way".

Her work has been featured on Good Morning America, TheSkimm, Forbes, Fortune, INC, Bustle, Business Insider, MyDomaine, Women’s Health, Good Housekeeping, Marie Claire, Billboard, CNN and many more as an expert in women’s leadership.

Today’s guest is about to blow you away with this topic.

I found Maxie because I was searching for books on Audible about feeling lost, or feeling stuck, or feeling imposter syndrome, because of something I was personally experiencing and questions that I get from so many of you.

Her book, "You’re Not Lost" is so impactful because we so often create these stories of why we can’t take action, & we get so caught up in our 5-20 year plans, forgetting that the little things we do along the way are going to be the things that get us where we want to be, and Maxie does an amazing job of breaking this down.

I can’t wait for you to hear from her & see what you think! Be sure to TAG us both in your IG stories if you vibe with it!

“Figure out what energizes you. The things that bring you more joy, more energy, more excitement than not. It does not have to be an end-all-be-all career goal. And ask yourself what’s the absolute smallest thing I can do about this thing that lights me up, and then let it be small and just go do it.” -Maxie McCoy

  • Radio Ga Ga by Queen

  • Dreams by Fleetwood Mac

“If you are feeling lost right now, its okay. Its OKAY… the feelings of being lost are actually a really powerful place of presence to be in.”

“If you’re doing something for the first time, which all of us at any height of success have done something for the first time, you don’t know what you’re doing.”

“What is today giving you that just rocks, and how can you love that?”

“If you don’t know where you’re going & you don’t know what to do next, just look at what you’ve done. And somewhere in that is the data of what the next step should be.”

“That’s the difference between successful people & non-successful people, are the ones that consistently show up and consistently do something that they haven’t done in the face of the unknown, versus someone who just talks about it & thinks about it.”

What might be HOLDING YOU BACK.

In this episode:

  • Acknowledge the dream in you

  • Feeling far from your goals

  • Excited vs overwhelmed

  • Reframing your mindset to be inspired

I’m pretty PUMPED you are here today because I want to talk about something that will really hit home for you as I know it does for SO many women including myself. This concept of labeling that space between where we are now and where we want to go, and what happens if we MISlabel it. Sometimes we label it as intimidating, while other times we label it as inspiring. I think it is really powerful that we can choose to reframe our mindset to how we WANT to label it and I wanted to go into a bit more detail for you today. As always, can’t wait to hear what you think, so tag me on Instagram or slide into those DMs girl!

“I can let that space inspire me… if I label it that way, I’m excited, I’m passionate, and I wanna chase my dreams.”

“I think a lot of events are neutral, and we create the meaning.”

“The person that I’m becoming in pursuit of the goal is what it’s all about.”

“This dream’s not in you by accident.”

Episode 29: Life is rigged in your favor

  • What you LOOK for, you will find

  • The little things really do matter

  • Getting out of a negative attitude

  • Using inconveniences to serve us

I honestly believe, to my core, that today’s topic is one of the biggest reasons that I feel really happy and excited a majority of each day, which is why I am SO excited that you are here today as we chat about how life is RIGGED in our FAVOR. Having the ability to manage your mindset is CRUCIAL to how you handle everyday situations & how you let things that are typically totally out of your control affect your mood & happiness. I think that this concept that I have used to serve myself in a massive way, might really serve YOU too, even in those annoying situations. And of course, I’m here to give you TANGIBLE action steps for getting out of that negative headspace when something doesn’t go how you had hoped or planned:

  1. Start with the little things each day & decide that life is rigged in your favor. Ask yourself how this can serve you & what evidence is there to PROVE it?

  2. Looking backwards at the big things that you may have written off as something bad & realizing that something positive DID come out of it.

“We know, that what we look for, we’re gonna find.”

“Because when something doesn’t go my way I’m looking for how it serves me… because I don’t want to have a chain of bad days. I’ve got things to do here and so do you!”

“I found something positive, from something that could be perceived as a negative.”

“Why would you not come up with something positive from something negative?”

“We can create the meaning of all events.”

Let's Get OUT of that FUNK Girl!

In this episode:

  • Giving yourself grace

  • Self-confirming bias

  • Your feelings ARE valid

  • Tools to get out of your funk

Hey girl! I am so happy you are here today because we are talking about something that I think is so relevant, which is pulling yourself out of a funk. We all have these times where we get ourselves into analysis-paralysis or total funky freak out and it is NORMAL. What I have learned, is it's so important to be able to CATCH yourself, acknowledge the feeling and then be aware of HOW to get OUT of that funk. I wanted to share a few tricks that I have put into practice to help pull you out of that funk:

  1. Let yourself feel it & acknowledge that you are totally normal.

  2. Ask yourself, what is the REAL story?

  3. Take action - inaction breeds fear.

“Even the happiest people can have off moments, or get funky feeling sometimes, right? And not a good funky.”

“It’s okay to not be okay sometimes. It’s okay to freak out, its okay to lose your cool or start crying for some reason that seems really random.”

“Nothing that you feel a feeling to cry about, is worth apologizing for. You don’t need to apologize.”

“Express the emotion and acknowledge that you are totally normal, nothing is wrong with you girl, you have feelings, you’re human.”

“When you want to make a statement that’s about yourself that says you’re not capable, look for all the reasons that you can.”

“If you can’t seem to pull yourself out of a funk for yourself, do it for your friend that needs you, for your sister, for your kids, for your coworkers, for your significant other. Someone needs you in a good state, in a HAPPY state.”

GETTING OUT of Your Own Damn WAY

Episode 23: Get out of your own damn way

In this episode:

  • Getting self-aware

  • Surround yourself with the right people

  • Rid your life of naysayers

  • Setting healthy boundaries

  • Understanding what lights you up

Girl, I am SO excited that you are here today because we are talking about something that is so important: getting out of our own damn way! We all know that WE are the reason that we aren’t where we want to be. It’s not about resources, it’s about resourcefulness & your mindset. Today I want to talk about 3 components of why I think we DO get in our own way and then HOW to actually decide & take action to get OUT of our own damn way!

  1. Self-awareness

  2. Inventory of your circle

  3. Boundaries

“Everyone that you meet knows something you don’t.”

“Sometimes we get frustrated by coworkers or significant others or friends or our family members, when they’re overstepping boundaries that we didn’t even communicate with ourselves, let alone with them.”

“At the end of the day, we are responsible for the life that we live.”

“A lot of times we feel stuck because we’re deciding that we don’t have any other choices, when that’s just not the reality.”

Episode 22: Consistency

In this episode:

  • Setting the stage with excitement
  • Celebrating the little wins
  • Creating a game-plan
  • Focus on the controllables
  • Asking for what you need

Today we are talking about CONSISTENCY, but even more so, how to get ourselves EXCITED to actually be consistent so that the things that we want to do to build the life that we love are just part of what we do. We know that those tiny things that are easy to do, are also easy NOT to do. But those are the things we NEED to do to get us where we want to go.

Tapping into the EXCITEMENT and JOY behind these things we have to do is what will keep us CONSISTENT. Tangible ways to get the consistency you want? You know I got you girl:

  1. Be proactive & get accountability
  2. You’ve got to know WHY you’re doing it

“To accomplish anything GREAT, you’re going to have to start before you’re ready.”

“Those tiny little things that are so easy TO do, are equally easy NOT to do. But to get us where we want to go, we’ve gotta do those things.”

“If it feels good to do something, we’re probably gonna be more inclined to do it again.”

“If you’re feeling your best, you’re impacting everyone around you.”

“The absolute best reasons why we do something are either extremely pleasurable… or maybe it’s very painful.”

“Sometimes it comes from pain, sometimes it comes from pleasure. But if there’s a pain or pleasure that’s attached specifically to you of why you’re doing something, you’re gonna be so much more likely to show up.”

“What makes it fun is gonna make you show up, girl, that’s gonna build that consistency!”

“Consistency is like a muscle that you would build in the gym.”

Episode 20: Comparison

In this episode:

  • Comparison is inevitable – know what YOU want
  • The highlight reel vs reality
  • Using those that came before as evidence
  • Learning from what triggers you
  • Controlling what you can - YOURSELF

In today’s episode, we are talking COMPARISON. In specific, comparison in regards to social media. We all know that comparison is inevitable in this social media driven world where we can scroll through hundreds of highlight reels and unfortunately, we sometimes forget reality. Today I wanted to talk about 5 tips that I have if you struggle with comparison or if someone that you know does. Here’s the breakdown:

  1. Know what YOU want – that’s what matters most.
  2. Use other people’s experience as EVIDENCE that it CAN BE DONE.
  3. Ask yourself better questions.
  4. SCHEDULE off the grid unplugged time.
  5. Unfollow the people that trigger you.

“Girl I want you to live a life that you are freaking OBSESSED with. I do not want some sallysue293 on Instagram to be the reason that you’re holding yourself back and staying in your own damn way of pursuing your goals and this beautiful vision that you have for your life.”

“Just because she has more likes on a picture, has nothing to do with her being better than you at anything.”

“Let’s peel back what the real goal is here. I hope that the real goal is to be happy and fulfilled in life not just for the internet.”

“At the end of the day, if you know your path and your goals and your priorities, that’s what matters.”

“If you catch yourself comparing and then in turn doubting yourself, ask yourself WHY you catch yourself wishing that you had something that she has.”

Choosing CURIOSITY to prevent CONFLICT

Episode 18: Conflict Prevention

In this episode:

  • Fight or flight mentality
  • Different life experiences & perspectives
  • Choosing curiosity over defensiveness
  • Is the story true or are your emotions driving
  • The Power of Vulnerability

I am SO excited you are here today because we are talking about a really important topic: preventing conflict. It’s a little bit of a different take on conflict resolution or dealing with negativity but is a lot more about the REAL TIME reactions during conflict. We always get to CHOOSE how we react or handle situations & because we are all about ACTION, I’m going to break down a few steps for you:

  1. Choose to LEARN – choose CURIOSITY
    2.  Ask yourself if the STORY is true? Or are your EMOTIONS driving it?
    3.  Brené Brown – read her books especially "Power of Vulnerability"

“Is this story you’re creating even true?”

“I got so damn curious I put myself, to the best of my ability that I could, in her shoes, and I thought how can I make sense of this from her lens.”

“What an opportunity that I would have missed to learn something if I would have shut her down. An opportunity to learn something about myself, to become a better communicator, to more effectively lead.”

“Every single person that we meet knows something we don’t, and has a completely different life experience and perspective. And we get to choose, always choose, to learn.”

  • Beyoncé

“Sometimes we’re trying to come up with this magical, beautiful, perfect idea, and it keeps people stuck in indecision for so long when usually it’s literally right in front of you.”

“The most easy, obvious answer is usually the right one.”

“Starting when it’s imperfect and just committing to enjoying the process, is actually one of the most important parts.”

“I made the excuse that I had a disadvantage and that I couldn’t achieve my potential because I was working fultime. And that held me back.”

“There’s some kind of thing in your life that you think is your greatest disadvantage, and its why you can’t achieve your dreams and what you really want, that you’ve been letting stand in your way, when really, I’m promising you, that is your biggest advantage.”

“If you’re desiring more, it means that you were blessed and you were given the potential to create more, for a reason.”

“Most people quit everything they do, before they ever get any results from it.”

Throwing out the TIMELINE & the "SHOULDS"

Episode 16: Throwing out the TIMELINE & the "SHOULDS"

In this episode:

  • Seasons of life that “should” be a certain way
  • Forgetting about timelines
  • Why we need to stop shaming each other
  • Trusting your gut & worrying less
  • Don’t stand in your OWN way

Today we are talking about the TIMELINE & all those “shoulds” that are associated with certain stages of life.

Society and the people around us put totally unnecessary pressure to be at a certain place or have certain things by a specific age, and I am calling BS on it all. There is NO timeline that you “should” follow. Your life is YOURS and that is it. And of course, because I am here to help with ACTION & TANGIBLE take aways, here are three things I know for certain that have helped me overcome the feelings we often have in this stage of life:

  1. 99% of the time what we worry about is not actually going to happen
  2. You were not given a vision for your life that is not yours to have
  3. Along the way, things will go wrong, but they likely weren’t even what we worried about

“Screw the damn checklist of you should be doing XYZ by blank age that society pushes on us.”

“99% of the time what we worry about is not actually going to happen.”

“If you show up to life as authentically as you can and you say yes to random things that excite you or pull at your heart strings, the universe or God or whatever you believe in, will help you get there.”

“Why not make the most of every single day, and throw the damn should and the timeline that you’ve created for yourself, and honestly girl for others, out the damn window.”

“Don’t be the only thing standing in your way.”

In this episode:

  • Becoming self aware
  • Using personality tests (like Enneagram) to know yourself better
  • Choosing happiness every day
  • Trusting that life is rigged in your favor

Today’s topic is one of my absolute FAVORITES: happiness.

I hear it ALL the time, “Kacia, are you REALLY that happy all the time?” The truth is, of course I am human that has bad days, but the MAJORITY of the time, I would say YES, I am a happier than average person! Of course we are all about TOOLS & ACTION here, so I wanted to share some of the things that I have done & do on a regular basis to make HAPPINESS a part of my daily routine. Can’t wait to hear what you think!

#2- UNDERSTANDING that you can CHOOSE to look at EVENTS as NEUTRAL & we CREATE the MEANING

“What do I need right now, to be a full complete happy person?”

“Being self-aware means, you can’t put the keys to your happiness in someone else’s pocket.”

“Every time something happens to me, I create a meaning that serves me.”

“We’ve got lives to change & a huge, happy, fulfilling, rich, full, abundant life to live. We don’t have time to create meanings that don’t serve us.”

“If you like where you’re at now and any aspect of your life, you’ve gotta be grateful for the path that got you there.”

What If you just GO FOR IT?

Episode 12: What if you just GO FOR IT?

In this episode:

  • What will you MISS OUT on if you DON’T do something?
  • Impact potential
  • Playing it ALL the way out
  • What if it DID all work out?
  • Making a game-plan

Today’s episode is short, but it is SAUCY.

We are talking about OPPORTUNITY COST and what you could MISS OUT on if you DON’T go after that “thing” that’s been on your mind. Maybe it’s starting an Etsy shop, or a new blog, or starting that side hustle. Whatever YOUR thing is, what are you leaving on the table if you DON’T try it out AND what could happen if you DO? And because you know I am ALL about action, try out these 3 ACTION STEPS:

  1. Pick your thing – that thing in your gut – & play it ALL the way out. What’s the BEST that could happen?
  2. What is holding you back? Write it down. Look for ALL of the reasons to DISPROVE the logic that you “can’t.”
  3. DECIDE. Share it with someone. Stop waiting & take some ACTION.

** You may notice right around minute 5:30 me saying to leave a review on AMAZON.. I have no idea what I am talking about, please go leave a review on iTunes... we’re takin messy action here ;) **

“We don’t think about the HAPPINESS that we COULD have if we did do the thing.”

“Just push the doubt away, kick it to the curb, & GO FOR IT.”

“What’s the number one excuse that keeps coming up in your head of why you aren’t doing that thing? Why you aren’t going full out?”

“That resiliency that you were given to get through that struggle? That’s a GIFT.”

“Why. Not. Me.”

Episode 10: Purpose Driven Action

In this episode:

  • Why setting goals is always an opportunity to grow
  • Stop picking goals based on what you think you “should” do
  • Digging deeper into your real WHY
  • How to stay the course
  • Proactive vs reactive

It’s a brand new year and I hope you are PUMPED. If you’ve got that little voice in your head, that’s got all of these crazy dreams that make you kind of want to pee your pants, I hope you let yourself GO THERE. And you set a GOAL around it. And then? You take some PURPOSE DRIVEN ACTION.

Purpose: A clear WHY. Why are you setting the goal? Why does it matter to you?

Driven: How do I STAY driven? Being proactive vs reactive.

Action: How do I make SURE that I will take action? Block off time & get accountability!

“When we’re in this state of inaction, or analysis paralysis, we start to create this story of all the reasons we can’t do something.”

“Staying comfortable is actually uncomfortable when you know in your gut that you have purpose & passion.”

“When you are setting goals, you are not going to hit some. But you’re gonna be a hell of a lot closer towards reaching it, if you actually set it.”

“Motivation is fleeting & a lot of times we’re not gonna feel like it. But if we’ve got purpose, and we’re creating the infrastructure in our life to keep us driven and keep us as happy as we can, we’re more likely to stay the course.”

“How’s it gonna feel? How can I have some more fun? How can I build a life that’s proactive versus reactive? Where I’m just soaking the juiciness out of our one shot on this planet?”

“I believe, to my absolute core, that the future version of you is gonna thank you. She's gonna thank you SO much and say thank you for GROWING through this tough time, thank you for learning what you learned. This is serving you & others.”

“We have been sold the idea that there is this balance, that’s actually attainable. And so many of us feel unfulfilled because we feel like we’re failing, because we are striving for something that doesn’t even exist.”

“What boundaries do I first need to put in place to protect myself and my energy so I don’t repeat this cycle again?”

“You don’t have to be available just because someone else wants you to be.”

“The people who do the if/only game, they not only suck the life out of themselves, but they don’t see as much success in their business or in their life, and they don’t feel fulfilled because they’re coming from a place of lack & they’re playing the comparison game.”

Interview with Natalie Rogers on Navigating FEAR, Imposter Syndrome and Taking ACTION to build a brand you LOVE.

Episode 7: Natalie Rogers

In this episode:

  • Starting a new business & building a brand
  • Using your resources to get started right away
  • Action eliminates fear
  • Morning routines that improve productivity
  • Living a life that makes you truly HAPPY

Natalie Rogers is a 24 year-old entrepreneur from Orlando, FL. She started her first company at 18 years old as a senior in high school and has been in love with entrepreneurship ever since. Natalie is most-known for being the CEO of The Klassy Network, a brand empowering female entrepreneurs to keep going with stylish products (anti-blue light glasses and apparel) and building a network of like-minded women. Her company launched in May 2018 and the brand is on track to hit 6 figures in its first six months. Natalie attributes a lot of her success to selling on Instagram. She doesn't only enjoy building an empire of her own, but she also has a passion for helping others launch and scale their businesses on social media.

In today’s episode we get to hear from Natalie about how simply taking ACTION towards creating a product that she wanted, launched a massively successful business. She shares with us her backstory & how she has created a brand and NETWORK for empowering women. At just 24 years old, Natalie is PROOF that taking MESSY action, before you know what you’re doing, is ALWAYS better than choosing to take no action at all.

“You create your own reality. And to remember that it’s on you. This is your life and you can do whatever it is that you want.”

  • Forever by Chris Brown
  • I Gotta Feeling by The Black Eyed Peas

“Be honest & transparent… just let go of control & when it happens, it’s all going to happen the way it NEEDS to.”

“It’s just about taking action, & realizing that there are people out there that are way less credible than you & they are doing so well just because they decided to do it.”

“We are our worst critic. Just step into that person that wants to do it & step into your confidence. Take action and jump, amazing things will happen, you just have to kind of let go.”

“You deserve to be happy in life, and there’s so many people out there that are living a life that they’re not enjoying, they’re miserable just because it’s safe.”

“Take the risk & understand that this is your LIFE, and it’s short, and you deserve to be happy.”

“Put your blinders on, take action, because action eliminates the fear.”

“If you’re not happy, then you’re not living.”

NAVIGATING negativity & controlling what you CAN

Episode 6: NAVIGATING negativity & controlling what you CAN

In this episode:

  • You can only control yourself
  • Handling negativity from people around you
  • Some people won’t support you & that’s ok
  • Giving others the benefit of the doubt
  • Not having it all figured out
  • Creating space when needed

On today’s episode, we are getting REAL & chatting about handling friends or family who just might not get it or support you in a way that you wish they did. Everyone struggles with navigating relationships & dealing with what other people think. The people who THINK differently might act like what you are doing is “WRONG,” or question your motives. What I think is the absolute WORST? Is that because of their questions or comments you actually QUESTION your own MOTIVES & CHOOSE TO THROW THE TOWEL in on YOUR DREAMS because someone ELSE is CHIRPING IN YOUR EAR. & to be honest, that’s devastating to me. So, here are 3 things I do to help NAVIGATE it:

#3: BLESS & RELEASE OR create some SPACE.

“Life is short and often throws curveballs. So, I’m gonna make the hell out of everything I’ve got, every single day, and I hope you do too.”

“If you are BREATHING, or doing anything different from what other people around you are doing, you are going to experience resistance from time to time.”

“Are you owning the situation & realizing that the only part that you can control, ALWAYS no matter what, is yourself.”

“Every time I wanna point the finger at someone else, I turn that finger around, I point it back at myself & I say what can I control? What can I own in this?”

“Happiness is a real compass. So if it feels good to you & something in your gut is telling you to do this? You’ve gotta do this, you’ve gotta listen to yourself.”

“Girl, don’t you DARE hold back on your potential because of someone else’s opinion of you.”

“The people that we surround ourselves with, the people whose ideas we infuse into our brains, whose comments we hear on a regular basis, that’s part of who we become. So choose well.”

005: Adriana Carrig Interview on CHARTING your OWN PATH + SPREADING KINDNESS

In this episode:

  • Staying optimistic through the hard stuff
  • Deciding not to care what others think
  • Where were you, where are you, & where do you want to be?
  • Being resourceful - figure it out!
  • Be kind & pass it on

Adriana Carrig is a powerhouse entrepreneur who is trying to change the world one word at a time. Inspired by her own experiences growing up and enduring years of girl on girl bullying, she wanted to change what she saw as a negative bonding tool that many girls have the tendency to use - coming together by putting down others. As the founder of Little Words Project, her mission is to encourage women to respect and empower one another rather than to compete with one another. It is her firm belief that there is plenty of success to go around, and we can truly succeed if and when we learn to stop competing and start supporting.

I’m so excited to share today’s episode with you all, where we have a truly honest discussion & Adriana opens up about her experience & how she took the noise around her and decided to instead turn it into something impactful. She shares with us how she didn’t let her lack of knowledge or expertise stop her from starting something she was excited about, but instead it encouraged her to embrace those around her, BELIEVE that she could and just go for it.

“If we can all kind of remind ourselves of those moments of just feeling like possibility is out there, and that we have an option. We always have an option & a choice, no matter where you are in life, there is somewhere, in a fold, an option.”

  • Cough Syrup by Young the Giant

“You cannot change what people think of you, you cannot change how people are going to perceive you through their lenses. All you can do is be confident in how you view yourself, put that woman out there & not give a shit anymore about what other people think.”

“You have to just actively decide no, not today. Today I am gonna be myself & I’m not gonna care.”

“The first one through the wall is always the bloodiest.” – Bill Carrig

“If you want it, you CAN achieve it.” – Adrianna’s mom

“You are the architect of your own destiny.”

“You cannot compare yourself to the left or the right, you can only compare yourself forward & backwards.”

“It’s okay to keep learning & to be different.”

“When you build your own self-esteem, suddenly you’re building your own confidence. And when you have confidence, you’re going after your dreams.”

“Do whatever you would do to make sure that you stay proud of yourself when this is all said and done, and that really gonna be the thing that makes you take that next step.”

“Stop questioning it. Stop worrying, stop thinking & just do.”

Interview with DAVE HOLLIS on GROWTH, tapping into your POTENTIAL & getting outside your COMFORT ZONE

Episode 3: Interview w/ Dave Hollis

In this episode we talk about:

  • How being challenged caters to growth & fulfillment
  • Getting out of your comfort zone
  • The importance of who & what you surround yourself
  • Using the resources available to you to get where you want to be
  • Having a growth mindset vs a fixed mindset

About Dave:

Dave Hollis is husband to Rachel, father to Jackson, Sawyer, Ford and Noah and the CEO of the Hollis Company after a 17 year run at Disney left his role as President, Theatrical Distribution for The Walt Disney Studios.  Dave looks to take the experiences as global theatrical sales head for Disney, Pixar, Marvel, and Lucas film to the expansion plans in the next, exciting phase of Hollis Company — focusing on media (books/podcasts/radio/tv), live events and merchandise.

In today’s episode I got to sit and talk with Dave about his transition out of a long-term job with Disney and jumping into the unknown as the CEO of the Hollis Company. Dave opens up about the reasons behind his transition, the fears that he experienced & how they made it work for their family. He has had a huge role in advocating for women in business by helping them reach their highest potential and encouraging growth. When he got to a place where he knew he wasn’t using his full potential, and therefor was no longer GROWING, Dave knew it was time to tackle something challenging and in doing so, found total life fulfillment.

“Whatever the dream is, it’s yours, not mine. You don’t have to give any justification, because as long as you’re not asking anyone to give you approval, then you don’t need anyone to give you permission. In fact, when you understand that you don’t have to justify your dreams, to anyone else for any reason, that is the day you truly begin to step in to who you were meant to be.” - Rachel Hollis - Girl, Stop Apologizing

  • Apeshit by The Carters

“Your comfort zone, that’s not where growth happens. Growth happens OUTSIDE of your comfort zone.”

“We thought we had a strong marriage, but when you are clutching each other in the bottom of a ravine, that’s when you see how strong you can be.”

“You’re either growing or dying. You cannot just maintain a status quo. You are literally, as a being, either growing or dying.”

“You cannot grow if you are not being challenged with new things. And if you are not growing because of those challenges, you cannot be fulfilled.”

“Mediocre people will always pull achievers back to mediocre.”

“She kept doing it, because she didn’t need my permission to become a better version of herself.”

In this episode we talk about ALL THE THINGS!

·         WHY...you've got to get over the idea that something is "wrong"  with you

·         We talk about figuring out what your “thing” is

·         That weird feeling we get.... when we want a GREAT life

·         Finding the belief in yourself; trusting that everything is figureoutable

·         Filling your cup to OVERFLOW

·         The importance of having a TRIBE

·        &  5 actionable steps to get unstuck

“Saying that you don’t know how to do something, and choosing to stay ignorant about it, is legit a CHOICE.”

In today’s episode, I dive into the whole reason I am even here today. Because years ago, I had no clue what my “thing” was, but I knew I wanted more and I took ACTION to figure it out. Inaction is still a choice & CHOOSING to believe we can’t do something is destroying our possibility. We create a story in our head of all the reasons we think we’re not qualified, or not good enough. We tell ourselves we can’t do something, all the while just sitting there not even TRYING. While you can’t control what you don’t know, you CAN continue to keep learning.

Behind every perfect Instagram picture is a real human who struggles with doubt, fear & insecurity just like we all do. They are simply willing to SHOW UP & fail. Don’t let the things you don’t know, be the thing that stops you. You are FAR more capable than you even know, you CAN figure it out, & you DON’T have to do it alone.

“Thinking about it, and not DOING anything, is going to leave you feeling the same way.”

“Inaction is still a choice… Inaction actually breeds fear & all this nasty stuff in our head.”

“Life is rigged in your favor.. life is working FOR you.”

“You’ve got to fill your cup to the point of OVERFLOW.”

“It’s never gonna be a lack of resources, it’ll just be a lack of resourcefulness that will help you get you where you want to go.”

“You do NOT have to stay stuck.”

“Don’t question if there’s something wrong with you, question the BELIEF that something is wrong with you, because you are too damn smart to be the only thing standing in your way.”

MOTIVATION isn't ENOUGH, it's TIME to take ACTION girl

In this episode:

  • Intro on me, Kacia!
  • What you can expect from empowerHER
  • Where I started & how I got here today
  • Why it’s important to start even when you’re scare or don’t know everything
  • What are we actually doing?

o   Taking purpose driven action

o   Inspiration is not the secret sauce

o   Motivation fades – action is what will help you take control of your life

o   Implement what you learn

o   Is it even worth it?

  • What am I going to miss out on if I don’t take this leap?

Who am I? My name is Kacia. I’m 29 years old and live in downtown San Diego with my boyfriend Seena & our adorably photogenic dog, Lizzie. I’m an entrepreneur who has built a 7 figure business with network marketing and now spend a lot of my day helping other women not only work on their own health & fitness goals, but build businesses they love too.

I am SO excited to tell you a bit more about how I got here today, where I started and the challenges & FEARS I had along the way. We will have epic guests who will share their story and how they figured it out & unapologetically made some serious moves.

“Successful people aren’t magical unicorns, they aren’t more capable than us. They just ask themselves better questions. They choose to grow through what they go through & when they fail, they just bounce back quicker."
