Episode Date
What if you just picked BETTER PROBLEMS?!

In this episode:

  • Avoiding the tendency to glamorize the destination
  • Learning to navigate the fear of the unknown
  • Choosing the path that won’t leave you with regret
  • Remembering that you get to choose your problems

Girl! I’m so happy you are here today because this short little episode is about something that I think about so often, especially when I’m going through major life changes like I am right now.... It’s this concept of when you’re setting goals, or when you’ve got a vision for your life, that you get to accept responsibility that you’re picking your problems too.

You’re picking the problems that you want more, right?

Anything worth having is worth working hard for, which means you’re also going to have to navigate all of the problems associated with that goal.

& because I think of us like we’re girlfriends chatting over coffee, I want to share with you a couple of personal examples that I think you might connect with.

Can't wait to hear your feedback!!

“When you’re thinking about the problems that you have in your life, I recommend that you pick the one that has growth on it. That has growth on the other side of navigating through it.”

“Anything worth having is worth working hard for, right? So when it comes to the pain of staying the same or the pain of growth, I’m gonna choose the one with the better outcome on the other side… coming out a better version of me.”

“Remind yourself, when you’re doubting yourself or when you’re wanting to throw in the towel, or you’re wanting to skip the work that you need to do that’s required to get you where you want to go, because you think it would be ‘easier’ remind yourself you wanted these problems.”

But is "COMFY" what you really want?

In this episode:

  • Giving up really good to honor your gut feeling to go for great
  • Not waiting until your back is against the wall to make a change
  • Taking that first step & making a move forward quickly
  • Getting more self aware about what you actually want & need

Hey girl!

I am so excited for today’s episode because we are talking about a juicy topic that I know you are going to resonate with. It’s this concept of if you’re TRULY happy & fulfilled, OR if you’re comfy & just shoving down this rumble, this gut feeling that’s telling you that you want more in some aspect of your life.

In Monday’s episode Seena & I talked about our upcoming move to Austin, TX and we are so excited for this transition into a different city & season in our life. ...

And I really wanted to hone in on something from that episode that I think deserved it’s own episode which is this concept of giving up good, or even really good, to honor that gut feeling in your stomach, that rumble telling you that you want more for you to go for really freaking great in your life.

I really think this is going to hit home with you & I can’t wait to hear what you think!

“Deep down in your gut you know you want more, that rumble in your belly right now might soon turn into a freaking roar. So how can we get proactive to prepare for that.”

“Why not, instead of trying to wish away or smush down that rumble, you decide that you have that rumble that gut feeling for a reason & you’re gonna pick one thing that you’re gonna start with.”

“You acknowledge, it’s good & you feel okay about it, but you want great. And that’s a gift. That ambition is a gift.”

“At the end of the day, direction is so much more important than speed, you do not get a prize for getting somewhere faster. Let’s enjoy the process more than what the process produces.”

Our BIG News & Navigating all the Seasons!

In this episode:

  • Managing the feelings that come with different seasons
  • Allowing yourself to be more curious & try different things
  • Navigating the highs & lows that comes with massive growth
  • Understanding that each season is necessary

I am so excited to have Seena back on the show today for this juicy episode talking about some big big plans we have in the works: We’re MOVING!

& because I think of us like we’re girlfriends chatting over coffee, I want to make sure to keep you in the loop, but I also thought it would be a really cool opportunity to talk about this season as we transition into a move to a new city, but also share with you about the last 11 years.

Seena & I have lived in Seattle, and New York, currently San Diego, and now another move to a totally new city.. AUSTIN, TX babyyyy!

As we’ve been talking about this we realized that each city has had some really incredible growth opportunities & seasons particular to that city that we have learned so much from a tangible tips perspective that we can share with you but also from a feelings perspective.

Can’t wait to hear what you think girl!

“I had to learn to measure my success of my ‘figuring it out’ stage in a different way than you were measuring your success.”

“Define those success terms for yourself.. You tried something new for the first time, you are making progress towards what you wanna do, that’s still successful even if you’re not there yet.”

“During the growth phase, this doesn’t feel good at all sometimes. The highs & lows, and navigating new things all the time.. But you’re building up that muscle.”

“When you ask better questions, you’re gonna get better answers. So starting to really dig into what does my ‘ideal life’ actually look like, but more importantly what does that actually FEEL like?”

[INTERVIEW] Choosing OPTIMISM even in the TOUGH times w/ Jess Ekstrom

In this episode:

  • Making optimism a strategy & leaning into failure
  • Diagnosing the difference between nerves & excitement
  • Starting even when you’re really scared
  • Thinking positively rather than brewing in negativity

I am so excited you are here for today’s episode because on the show we have Jess Ekstrom.

She is a powerhouse entrepreneur, philanthropist, speaker, and author. She’s been featured in major publications like Forbes, The Today Show, Entrepreneur Magazine, Good Morning America, Vanity Fair, People and the list keeps going.

What I really love, is the company that she is the founder of called Headbands of Hope. It’s a headband company that donates a headband to a child with cancer for every one purchased, and they have already donated over 600,000 headbands to children’s hospitals across the nation & globally.

Jess started her company in her college dorm room!

She also has an incredible speaking career & created the Micdrop Workshop to help get more female speakers paid & on stages. In addition to all of that, the main reason I wanted to bring her on the show is her new book called ‘Chasing the Bright Side’ and it’s all about embracing optimism.

Jess is quirky, fun & very tactical which I just know you will really love! Can’t wait to hear what you think of this episode!

  • Treasure by Bruno Mars

“I think we get clarity in the process and not in the planning. And sometimes those little things that you do start to add up.”

“Make the possibilities bigger than the fear, get excited about the unknown.”

“One of the things that I think brings the most clarity around optimism is that optimism is not a mood, it’s a strategy… it’s a strategy for good & we need that most when times are bad.”

“It took someone, or some group, or some idea that had this glimmer of optimism in it to spark that movement, to bring it forward. When you look at the facts, any advancement, progress, innovation, in history started with optimism.”

“Failure will always feel better than regret. And you’re going to have more information, you’re going to have more data, more research, you can make better decisions moving forward but not everything’s going to be a homerun when you’re a beginner.”

[Real Talk] When "I Don't Know HOW" is holding you back!

In this episode:

  • Labeling your fear as excitement
  • Failure & stumbling are not the opposite of success
  • Taking the responsibility of figuring it out
  • Picking your first step to get the ball rolling

Hey girl, I am so excited you are here!

Today’s episode comes directly from a message I got from a woman on Instagram who said, “Kac, I really wanna do this thing, but I don’t know how.”

I LOVE this topic because ‘how’ holds us back from doing so many things that we want to do in our life.

So here’s my take on it: you can tell me HOW to ride a unicycle & I can understand fundamentally what I need to do.

But until I actually grab that unicycle, sit on it & start pedaling - understanding that there’s a very good chance I’m going to fall on my face - I’m never going to know how to do it.

Because even if the best unicycler in the world teaches me how, they’ve put their reps in to get that good & I haven’t done it yet. So how in the world could I know how until I actually start & get that clarity and belief in myself that comes from action.

That’s what we are talking about today & I think you’re really going to vibe with it!

“If we get too caught up in the ‘how’ just visualizing the actual action, & we choose to stay stuck, we’re never going to get there.”

“Failure and stumbling and the doubts that come in, are not actually the opposite of success, they’re actually a necessary stepping stone to get you where you want to go.”

“We don’t need a permission slip from anybody. And we don’t need a manual with step-by-step instructions of how to do the thing that’s on our heart. We just need the first step.”

“Don’t rob yourself of the opportunity to see success & fulfillment in your life simply because you refuse to take responsibility that even with the best damn map on the planet… the how comes from action.”

Embracing CHANGE & Feeling all the FEELS!

In this episode:

  • Practicing optimism & growing your comfort with risk
  • Taking inventory on the opportunity cost of a decision
  • Playing out the full spectrum of your feelings
  • Reframing to find the good & getting back up faster

I am so excited that you are here today because we are talking about what making a change really feels like, about risk & opportunity cost!

Sometimes when you make a decision to make a change you feel super pumped, so excited & on top of the world....

Sometimes you feel like you’re going to puke because you’re so nervous & anxious.

Sometimes you’re really scared thinking like what if this doesn’t work out the way that I planned.. & then sometimes, you do that thing & right afterwards you feel so freaking proud of yourself for doing that thing that you knew was right to do even though you were scared.

& then of course sometimes all of those things happen in the same day if the change is really big!

But today I really want to talk about the FEELINGS that are associated with change & some tactical ways that I actually manage those feelings through the lens of opportunity cost and risk.

So buckle up, we are gonna dive right in!

“As humans we are not wired for uncertainty, our brains are literally not made that way. But just like any muscle, I think you can build up your comfortability with risk as if it was a muscle.”

“I think when you’re making a change or making a decision to do something that you’re a little bit nervous to do but you know in your gut feels right, it’s important to actually take inventory on the opportunity cost. What are you going to miss out on if you don’t do that thing?”

“You’re a human. You’re going to have feelings that you don’t need a permission slip to have. You’re a grown freakin woman!”

[PEP TALK] Who needs you to SHOW UP?!

In this episode:

  • Understanding the necessity to show up now
  • Using your morning routine to set the tone for the day
  • Showing up to life every day proving that it’s a gift

Today we are talking about the necessity to SHOW UP & I am so happy you are here!

I’ve been getting this question a lot lately of like.... “Kac, how are you pushing through things right now to keep showing up?”

Whether that’s for my business, or my workouts, or my relationship, or whatever it is.

So today I wanted to share with you a couple of quick little tips that work really well for me because I want you to leave this episode feeling pumped up, but also with some tactical tools in your toolbox so you can do the damn thing, show up today and be excited about your life and your ONE SHOT here because today freaking COUNTS.

So let’s dive in girl, can’t wait to hear what you think!

“I often think about how important it is that we get more emotional & get more committed to why we’re actually doing what we’re doing so that we feel this need to show up.”

“Who needs you to bring your freaking A game? Because as much as I want you to do it for you… sometimes when life feels hard or heavy, we’ll show up for someone else more than we’ll show up for ourselves.”

“People care so much less about what you actually think about or what you actually say, but they remember the example that you set, they remember how you make them feel.”

"How can I GROW THROUGH this ?"

In this episode:

Navigating an instant gratification driven society

  • Acknowledging that even the hard seasons have lessons
  • Taking inventory on how this stage is setting up future you
  • Realizing the process is necessary to appreciate what’s next

Hey girl, I’m really happy you are here today for this episode because I think it’s a topic that is really going to hit home with you.

We’re talking about savoring not just the season of life you’re in, but how taking that extra step to intentionally take inventory on how this time in your life or this stage in your life - even if it’s not going according to plan, even if it’s not rainbows butterflies & happy little unicorns - is actually setting you up for massive success & deep fulfillment later because of what you’re learning now, IF you look for it.

I just know this is going to hit home & be so impactful for you, so don’t hesitate to tag me on Instagram & let me know what you think!

“I’m not the type of woman who wishes away stages in her life. I’m not the type of woman who wishes away even a day of her life. Because life is short & unexpected & throws curveballs, and I am deeply committed to not just making the days count, but definitely making the seasons count.”

“Truly I believe, to my core, if we want happiness & deep fulfillment & joy in our life, we just cannot keep wishing away stages, even the crappy parts of them, to get to the next stage because we miss out on the growth opportunity.”

“I bet, if you look for it, there was a powerful lesson that you literally would not have learned if you did not go through that thing.”

160: [PEP TALK] A reminder that YOU'VE GOT THIS!

In this episode:

  • Giving yourself some grace throughout turmoil
  • Taking radical responsibility in your life
  • Navigating the uncertainty of the world
  • Remembering that progress is always better than perfection

Girl, I am so happy you are here today.

Because I wanted to do a short little episode that’s kind of like a hug, friend to friend. T

ruly this dance that we’re trying to learn how to navigate right now between giving yourself grace & also taking radical responsibility for how you want to show up in the world is so delicate. This dance is always required for growth in general, whether it's goal driven or more personal, but right now, I feel it more than ever. 2020 so far has brought some major issues in our world that we are navigating in real time, and although we all are affected differently, it is affecting everyone.

We’re not wired in our brains to navigate this much uncertainty & I want to acknowledge that, but also remind you that girl, you’ve got this. We’re in this together, forever. Talk to you soon girl.

“I want to remind you that you’re capable. So much more capable than you give yourself credit for. And I know you care about getting better… & sometimes you can be your own worst critic.”

“You are absolutely guaranteed going to stumble, sometimes you’re going to fail. You’re gonna freakin faceplant & it’s gonna hurt. But you’re gonna get back up.”

“You are worthy. You’re worthy of a life that you’re obsessed with.”

[INTERVIEW] REAL TALK on RACE & How to be a better ALLY w/ Simone McNish

In this episode:

  • Uncovering unconscious bias & unpacking your privilege
  • Explaining performative action & how its not helping
  • Unlearning the things you’ve been taught that are harmful
  • Taking ownership of your own education & exposure

Hey girl, I am SO happy that you’re here for today’s episode.

It’s a different style that we’ve never had before, but SUCH an important topic.

We have on Simone McNish, who is a wife, a mom, a super successful business coach, and she is with us today to talk about inclusion, white privilege & uncovering unconscious bias.

This is a topic that I know is super important for all of us to get ourselves educated on, & full-transparency something I am learning in real time to get more comfortable talking about which you will definitely HEAR in today's interview.

I think you are going to LOVE Simone's personality as much as I do and her delivery style. She is really articulate & straightforward but she’s also really gracious, kind, funny, & understanding.

This conversation is honest, raw, & really open so please tag both of us with your feedback! Can't wait to hear what you think!

  • Formation by Beyonce

“What people don’t understand is that racism is systematic… what it means is that from birth, white people specifically have certain privileges that they are born with & the more that white people can accept this, the easier it becomes.”

“We’re in a time right now where black America needs us. We’re in a time right now where black people need our support really more than anything.”

“Listen to them. Listen to their experiences. Listen to what they have to say without getting defensive... without questioning.”

“Anti-racism is all about fighting racism, it’s dismantling the system, it’s helping other people who don’t look like you who are starting off at a lower playing field.”

“Messing up & listening, is so much better than not doing anything & being terrified of saying the wrong thing.”

Building TRUST & "Marble Jar" Friendships

In this episode:

  • Tips for developing trust among those around you
  • Looping in people you care about to hold you accountable
  • Valuing reliability & integrity by following through
  • Authenticity & embodying what you value from others in yourself

Girrrl! I am so excited that you are here today & I hope you are buckled up ready to rock, because we are diving into the juicy topic of TRUST.

I’ve been thinking a lot about trust & environment. & not just the environment we have around us, but the PEOPLE that we surround ourselves with.

We talk about this a lot, because we know that we often become a direct reflection of the expectations of our peer group, so it’s important that we have good people around us. People that help us level up, share common interests, that get us & also that we trust, so today we are talking about how to actually build trust with people & how to develop the trust others have in you.

Can’t wait to hear what you think of this “marble jar friends” concept from Brene Brown & how it can SERVE you in your relationships!

“When you trust people you’re going to risk putting yourself out there to them. Because you know that whatever they say back to you it’s going to weigh importance on you.”

“When you think of ‘marble jar friends,’ or building trust in the way like putting marbles in a jar, how do you think that people earn marbles with you? And how do you believe that you earn marbles with other people?”

“If you and I want to embody integrity, the integrity that we want to see in the world, then we have to commit to not talking about people behind their back & doing the right thing even when it’s not convenient.”

“Keep trying to be the best you. It matters… You’re inspiring so many people with how you’re making your life a testimony of what type of person you can be & what type of life you can live.”

[HIS & HER PEP TALK] Navigating your "New Normal"

In this episode:

  • Progress comes from pushing through the tough stuff

  • Embracing what your new normal will be

  • Doing the best you can, is always enough

  • Taking inventory & focusing on strong communication

Hey girl! Please help me welcome back to the show, my fiance Seena! We’ve been getting great feedback from these little His & Her Pep Talk episodes, so we are here for another one! He is an enneagram 3 & I’m a 7, so our brains just think completely differently & we each bring such a different perspective to conversations. Very recently, I was feeling very overwhelmed & like I wasn’t sure if I could really handle everything that I had going on. So many exciting things, but I just was wondering if I was really capable. I texted Seena, and his response was what sparked this entire episode. We’re talking about this new normal we are currently in & learning to navigate through new seasons in life that we’ve never been through before. I really think you are going to jam with this conversation & we can’t wait to hear what you think girl!

“Anything that’s new is hard, because you’ve just never done it before for the first time… but that’s where progress comes from.” - Kacia

“Leaving that comfort zone just feels scary & kind of messy, you don’t know what’s going on, but when you look back 6 months, you really appreciate how far along you’ve come.” - Seena

“I’m not labeling this stress as something I can’t manage, I’m learning that this stress is the skills & the coping mechanisms & the tools & the perspective that I need to develop.” - Kacia

[PEP TALK] Let's CRANK up the JOY!

In this episode:

  • Taking inventory on your own energy & using that to your advantage

  • Being proactive about planning your day to day activities

  • Focusing your to-FEEL list with your daily to-dos

  • Ensuring that your priorities are truly treated like priorities

Hey girl, I am so excited that you’re here today because we are just doing a short little pep talk.

And I am encouraging you to CRANK up the VOLUME on your JOY & your HAPPINESS! We’re talking about making your day more juicy, and fulfilling because it’s a day that you have that other people don’t. In society, being goofy & playing & doing things simply because they are fun is downplayed or deemed as less important, and I think that is total BS.

I believe that this ‘hustle until your face falls off’ culture where ‘busy’ is worn like a badge of honor is going to have us burnt out with health issues, relationship struggles & lacking fulfillment & joy. We need a little remix on that narrative & I hope you leave today’s episode buckled up & ready to have some freaking FUN! Let’s do this girl!

“Making joy & enthusiasm & happiness & becoming a more positive person is literally going to help you find more solutions.”

“There is so much research that has proven that happiness leads to success, much more than success leading to happiness.”

“These mundane things that you have to get done, how can you make them more fun? What if you mapped out your to-do list & you thought about your to-FEEL list more, right?”

“It’s up to us girl, to rewrite the narrative on the importance of joy & happiness and being positive people, and looking for opportunities to create days that make us excited!”

Who's Rules are YOU playing by?

In this episode:

  • Letting go of other’s opinions & the expectations of society

  • Putting your own dreams & desires above others

  • Believing that your path is your own & no one else's

  • Building & sticking to your own achievement system

Hey girl!!

I am so excited you’re here today for this short & juicy episode that I think is going to be super powerful for you!

We’re talking about who’s rules you’re playing by, what achievement system you’re tapping into and if all of that is even working for you.

This idea came to me after our last weekly virtual Happy Hour with the members of our global personal development community, The Collective.

One of our incredible members, Angelica, shared one of her own personal wins about how she came to the realization that her goals for building a side business didn’t have to be massive or the same as others who were building similar businesses.

She knew where her passion was, with teaching, and she was proud of herself for admitting that she didn’t want the same thing that others did. I just know, there is NOTHING like that feeling of owning who you are, what your goals are, & realizing you don’t have to play by anybody else’s rules.

I think you are so going to LOVE this one & I can’t wait to hear what you think girlfriend!

“So often we don’t even realize, that we’re often playing this part to a script that was written for us that we didn’t even want to be part of, or we’re setting goals based off of other people’s achievement systems that we don’t even want.”

“It helps you get this anxiety down, you don’t feel as anxious or frazzled about the speed at which you’re getting to your goals when you realize, direction is more important than speed.”

“If you are letting someone else’s opinion, or society’s expectations, or your mentors goals for you, or your peers goals for you, dictate your goals & what you’re doing with your life, then is it really even your life?”

Cuz Girl...Easy ROBS you of PROUD!

In this episode:

  • Celebrating along the way with mini goals

  • Building confidence every day through small wins

  • What you are learning now will serve you in the long-run

  • Thinking about how this stage can help you later

This one is a saucy little episode that I think will light a fire under your butt & give you some more tools in your toolbox that will be really powerful, so I am so happy you are here!

I wanted to share with you this question that I ask myself basically daily that is super simple but super powerful: how is what you’re doing today going to help you later by getting you closer to that bigger vision or goal of what you want?

I love this question because it may sound like common sense, but it’s not common practice!

If everyone asked themselves that question so many more of us would feel focused & not as stressed out or doubting ourselves & wanting to throw in the towel on our dreams.

I honestly believe that if you become a NINJA at asking yourself this question in real time, it will be so valuable for you & really any goals or vision or even skills you are working on in your life.

So, let’s dive right in girl! I can’t wait to hear what you think!

“If it came super easily, we would miss out so much wouldn’t we?”

“Everything that’s happening in my life, or in my business, I can find a reason for how it’s serving me right now to be the type of human that I want to be later or to have the type of goals accomplished.”

“You literally have to have a setback, to have a comeback where you can build that resiliency. You gotta fall down so you can get back up.”

“At the end of the day, when it feels a little bit harder in life or it just feels like you’re juggling a lot & you’re frustrated.. That means, you’re leveling up.”

[Pep Talk] You're Wildly Capable; This I know for Sure.

In this episode:

  • Getting comfortable with uncertainty

  • Embracing the power of not giving up & figuring it out

  • Freeing yourself from the unknown alternative

  • Throwing out societal expectations & choosing better thoughts

Hey girl, I am so excited you’re here for today’s episode because the topic is REAL & it’s RAW & it’s HONEST. And you KNOW, I am all about tangible tools & tactical advice that you can implement TODAY to make positive changes & build a life you’re obsessed with. But, it’s also SO important to me that you feel how I feel, that we’re girlfriends just chatting over your drink of choice, so I wanted to loop you in on a personal story, because I’m a human like you. There are a lot of people out there who seem like they are a million miles ahead, but I wanna keep it real with you because we are going through this together. Today I’m talking all about a recent time I stopped my workout after 12 minutes & then spent an hour by myself walking in downtown San Diego crying & asking myself crappy questions. Because even though I know better, we all fall sometimes. The key is to learn how to get back up faster, right? I hope you really vibe with this episode & take away something from these things I know for CERTAIN. Can’t wait to hear what you think girl!

“Sometimes, I think we have to fall down because there is something really important that we’re supposed to find or learn before we get back up.”

“I do not believe that you were gifted a vision for your life or this feeling in your gut to do something in a particular way or a particular order that is not yours to have.”

“Easy robs me of proud. And I know, proud makes me feel fulfilled. And I don’t want to just accomplish all the goals, I want to feel fulfilled in the process.”

“Humility is a form of acceptance. The acceptance that we can’t know it all, right? We can never know it all.”

Your Beliefs: Should you Keep, Exchange or Return?

Episode 152: Keep, Exchange, or Return

In this episode:

  • Reprogramming your brain to think better thoughts

  • Choosing to retire beliefs that no longer serve you

  • Taking responsibility for rewriting our own narratives

Hey girl! I’m so excited that you are here for today’s episode because I think you’re really going to vibe with this concept.

We are talking about beliefs and the programming that we have basically from birth, and the thoughts that we’re thinking & if they’re actually serving us.

I was listening to an incredible book called Untamed by Glenon Doyle, and she was talking about this concept that I thought was so powerful, that we always have three options with the belief sets that we currently have.

We can either keep them, return them, or exchange them. I thought it was just so juicy & I had to share it with you!

I can’t wait to hear what you think!!

“You get the choice… you can reprogram your brain. You can return that belief and you’re like, ‘Nope! Gotta go, this ones not working for me.’”

“If they’re not serving you, or getting you closer to a life that you love, they gotta go! We don’t have time for it. It’s not always gonna be easy, but as you start to identify them you can knock them out, one by one.”

“The conscious you become of your own thoughts & beliefs, that more that you can naturally go into these three buckets in your brain & start to craft this identity that you love!”

What's so cool about her story?

She took a little blog from her college dorm room & built it into an international brand that helps thousands of ambitious women.

Her podcast "Angie Lee Show" has over 7 million downloads!

I've had Angie on the show before, but I’m so excited to bring her back because not only is she my friend & a woman that I love so much, she is also an enneagram 7 and is obsessed with finding joy in the process by making life more FUN.

Today we are deep diving on how to pivot, how to transition, how to figure out who the heck you’re actually talking to so that you can really resonate with them.

This episode is sure to help you get a little bit of direction & kick ya in the butt to dance with fear and understand that you’ve gotta do it scared!

Can’t wait to hear what you think & I’ll talk to you soon girl!

“You could have all the skills, all the training, you could have a double masters in business, but if you’re afraid to start & you’re afraid to get messy & you’re afraid to jump, nothing is ever going to happen.”

“I’ve discovered everything that I’m good at or bad at through trying & through just showing up.”

“You have the opportunity to see this as fear or as faith, right?”

“The secret is, starting before you’re ready... I don’t have all the answers, but what I do have is the courage to start before I’m ready & that’s what has taken me to really cool places.”

Uncertainty is REAL! Let's learn to DANCE with it!

In this episode:

  • Taking ownership & not blame things on external environment

  • Understanding the way that our brains are wired

  • Navigating the reality of uncertainty & reframing our thoughts

  • Using fear of unknown to drive you forward towards your goals

Hey girl! I’m always so pumped to connect with you on this super intimate platform & I’m so grateful that it just feels like we’re girlfriends chatting over coffee!

Today I wanted to talk about something that I’ve gotten a lot of DMs about lately, which is feeling this feel that's like, ‘uh, I wanna do this thing, BUT I’m too scared that I’m gonna suck... BUT I’m nervous of what people are going to think of me… BUT I’m worried if it’s going to even work out.’ Those are such NORMAL feelings, but the irony is a lot of people look at those thoughts as reasons to never try in the first place or they choose to let fear override the fact that they've got a really powerful reason they want to do that thing.

Uncertainty is a reality of life, and we’ve just got to learn to navigate it & even dance with it along the way! I can’t wait to hear what you think!

“To me, when you’re asking yourself those questions like, ‘what if I suck’... or if you’re worried about what if it doesn’t workout the way you planned & that you might fail… to me those questions, are an epic indicator that you actually care about the thing that you’re about to start.”

“If your brain doesn’t know what’s around the corner, or like what will come or what the outcome could be, it can’t keep you out of harm's way. Which is why uncertainty is so tough for us.”

“Why are you toe dipping, when you know that the juiciest experience comes from calling your freaking shot & going all in… it’s probably because of uncertainty.”

In this episode:

  • Showing up even when others are doubting you

  • Getting back up no matter how many times you’re knocked down

  • Overcoming rejection & being underestimated

  • Staying true to your authentic self & what you stand for

Jamie Kern Lima is an American entrepreneur, billion dollar business success story, champion of women, philanthropist, culture-shifter and highly sought-after keynote speaker. She Co-Founded IT Cosmetics from her living room and wasn’t able to pay herself for the first three years, while hearing countless Nos from retailers and investors, and working 100+ hour weeks hustling to keep her dream alive. Her passion for her mission, unremitting perseverance, belief and hard work led to her turning every No into an eventual Yes. Jamie grew IT into a top-selling makeup and skincare brand, then sold it to L’Oréal for $1.2 Billion cash, in their largest US acquisition to date, making Jamie the first female CEO in L’Oréal’s 100+ year history.

I am so freaking excited that you are here today for this interview with Jamie Kern Lima. If you know who she is, you know why I am so pumped & it’s not just because she built her company from her living room to $1.2 BILLION, but because of her HEART. She is a true champion of women & is someone you feel like you are best friends with even just from chatting with her. She’s built this community of women from all across the globe that share their stories of overcoming struggle, confidence & their self-worth because of IT Cosmetics & the mission that Jamie set out on. You are going to LOVE her story, this interview is POWERFUL! Don’t forget to tag both of us on Instagram with any of your takeaways & I can’t wait to hear what you think!

  • Hamilton!

“It taught me the power of going with your gut over anyone else’s advice… and the power of authenticity & how you can’t fake it.”

“It’s so hard when everyone doubts you, & it’s so hard when everyone says no for years, & then you’re like, okay no is my shot.”

“What I’ve learned time & time again is, when you have this gut feeling, like it’s what you’re meant to do, like you’re called to do it.. I don’t think it’s wrong.”

“If you’re someone getting told no, you’re someone doin’ something!”

“I don’t know anybody who has built anything that matters & anything that lasts, without working really really hard… don’t give up.”

[HIS & HER PEP TALK] 2 Things we were completely WRONG about!

Episode 148: His & Her Pep Talk

In this episode:

  • Using those small wins to build confidence over time

  • Understanding that you will never just “arrive” at your goals

  • Inspiration is not based off of accomplishment

  • Embracing the journey of who you’re becoming along the way

My fiance Seena is back again for another His & Her Pep talk today because I got a ton of awesome feedback from people who really vibe with our completely different brains that process things so uniquely! Today we are chatting about two things that we were totally wrong about. First, is this concept that one day you just arrive and you’ve made it, which is so not true! And second, is that inspiration is only based on accomplishment. We have each had our own experiences with these two concepts in totally different ways in our own careers & lives. I think you are going to really connect with our different perspectives and how we have navigated through them & I can’t wait to hear what you think & how this impacts you girl!

“Those little tiny wins every day… that’s where you really get to build that feeling of accomplishment & that proud feeling of yourself.”

“Sometimes we idealize the accomplishment, or the achievement, or that once I get there it’s going to be easier, and we forget that once we get there you’re just going to have different problems.”

“People will be more inspired by your journey than your accolades once you get there.”

The Collective Q&A: All about Anxiety with a Psychotherapist

In this episode:

  • Managing anxiety during the current season

  • Tangible tips & coping mechanisms for managing stress

  • Techniques for navigating fear in real time

  • Refocusing your brain on what needs to be done

I am so excited that you’re here today, because this is a really different style of episode & a super important topic.

We are talking about anxiety, but the format is a little different because we actually stripped some audio from a video call we did with The Collective members. In our global personal development community we have bonus opportunities to connect on live calls with experts in different fields.

One of them was with a psychotherapist named Kristi Thrailkill who I actually LOVE & has been on the podcast twice before as well. What you’re going to hear in today’s show is sound bites of Kristi doing a live Q&A with us talking about managing anxiety & navigating this season.

There is so much going on & so much that we can’t control, so I just had to bring this content to you because I think you will get a ton of value from it.

I can’t wait to hear what you think & don’t forget to tag us both with your takeaways on IG!

“Are you listening to these messages and are they actually resonating with you, are they actually where you want to be? And if not, then be in your own camp.”

“This isn’t a forever thing, so we want to be able to just get through it. It’s not a matter of learning to handle a pandemic well, it’s let’s survive it.”

“If you have to watch the news, don’t do it the first 30 minutes that you wake up & don’t do it 30 minutes before you go to bed. It is so detrimental if the first thing you do is roll over & pick up your phone & read horrible stuff. Your day has set a foundation of feeling horrible.”

What if this season could actually SERVE you!?

In this episode:

  • Setting up an environment that serves you now & in the future

  • Managing your expectations & reframing your situation

  • How you can use this time to serve the future life you want

  • Evaluating the people in your life & how they affect you

Thank you so much for being here for today’s episode, I think this topic is really going to hit home with you because we are talking about the life that you want now, like today, and then how we can use this season to serve us for the lives that we build in the future.

There are so many of us that are currently quarantined in our house, maybe you had a job & are now working from home, or maybe you’re a mom trying to teach your kids.

& then I also thought about some of you, who are our health care & essential workers, and I first want to say thank you for how you are showing up & the support you are giving.

But today, I’m just so excited for his episode because I think it’s going to give you a lot of hope & I think you’re really going to connect with it! Can't wait to hear what you think! XO

“You still get to choose what’s acceptable to you. You get to take ownership of what’s right for you & what’s not right for you, no matter what.”

“Your environment… either supports or digs at this incredible mindset that you’re creating.”

“Is it a good idea to only surround yourself with people who think you are already great, when you want to be better?”

“If, environment overrides almost everything in our life, and if in our life the most powerful force is to be consistent & congruent with the expectations of our peer group, then girl, we might need to level up our peer group!”

“What if this is part of your plan to get more intentional about your one shot on the planet?”

In this episode:

  • Unpacking the boxes we put ourselves in

  • How we think about our external circumstances

  • Reframing the thoughts that don’t serve us

I’m so excited you are here today for this short little pep talk because we are gonna talk about a man who got himself stuck in a refrigerated box car.

Which might sound like I’ve lost my mind, but I promise, there are some juicy takeaways from this story.

We are talking about happiness & the boxes we put ourselves in for what our potential happiness is based on external circumstances beyond our control.

This is such an interesting concept that really affects us all, and I can’t wait to hear what you think, so let’s dive right in!

“How are you letting your external circumstances affect your thoughts? And then, is that causing you unnecessary panic?”

“I believe, you are too damn smart to let thoughts that aren’t serving you circle around in your head all day, because those thoughts might be keeping you stuck.”

“You and only you are ultimately responsible for your thoughts, which drive your perception of the world and the behaviors that you choose.”

“Let’s be the women who refuse to let our external circumstances get more weight in our life than they deserve.”

In this episode:

  • Building confidence through small consistent wins

  • Switching perspective on the identity you’re striving for

  • The “last mile struggle bus” shows what you’re made of

  • Establishing a minimum baseline & getting accountability

Hey girl! I am so excited you are here for this episode because we have on the show, my real life favorite human being, my fiance Seena!

I wanted to bring him on to this episode because we have a lot of really cool conversations during our nightly walks with Lizzie & Seena brought up this really cool concept about goal setting & he has a lot of juicy stuff to bring today!

This concept we are chatting about could be applicable to really anything in life, but it truly stemmed from when we started training for Seena’s first half marathon that then got cancelled. In this quick little pep talk we are chatting about how the small wins in pursuit of a goal are really where the magic happens & are how you build your confidence along the way.

I can’t wait to hear what you think & hope you really vibe with this one!

  • Going Bad by Meek Mill & Drake

“I’m still just as proud as if I did cross that finish line because it was the times along the way that really built up my confidence.”

“The goal is always changing in life, it’s never constant.”

“You know you’re almost to your goal and all the weight of all that work you’ve done, you’re just about to achieve that goal, it gets really tough right before you have a breakthrough.”

“This is the minimum baseline, I’m only going up from here... so many people are willing to just stay comfy when they know they have more in the tank & it doesn’t have to be this drastic change.”

[INTERVIEW] Embracing CHANGE & navigating PIVOTS in life & business w/ Cathy Heller

Episode 143: Cathy Heller 2

In this episode:

  • Showing up & supporting yourself during crazy times

  • Not letting comparison keep you from sharing your gift

  • Tangible ways to practice mindfulness every day

  • Figuring out your thing & creative ways to pivot

Cathy Heller is the host of the podcast, “Don’t Keep Your Day Job” and also wrote a book of the same title!

She built 7 figure business as a creative and then became a coach who helps thousands of people find their “thing", launch their passion project, and build a life they love waking up to.

Cathy knows what it’s like to feel lost and invisible & she believes everyone has incredible ideas, they’re just missing momentum.

She is passionate about helping people stop over thinking it, gain clarity on what steps to take and find the people they’re meant to serve.

I am SO excited for you to hear from Cathy Heller who is someone I so deeply admire that I brought her on for round two today. She has so many incredible accolades, but why I love her so much is she’s humble & gracious & has so much value to offer along with truly tangible takeaways I think you are going to LOVE!

We are talking about supporting yourself emotionally, making pivots in your career, navigating fear or comparison & even how to monetize your passions & grow your business.

This is such a cool episode & I can’t wait to hear how you vibe with it!!

  • No Excuses by Meghan Trainor

“Your mind is constantly looking for danger… the best thing you can do is give it something else to be stimulated by other than worry... Worrying is actually useless.”

“Meditation is focusing your attention on something… and when you do that, your mind stops spinning because you give it something to tether to & it makes you feel so good.”

“You were created because you’re needed. If you’re needed, you’re not here for yourself you’re here for other people. It’s a moral obligation to show up & share our gifts & be available to help other people. That’s why we’re here.”

“Your purpose is not something you find under a rock, it’s something that develops over time.”

Eliminate "CAN'T" & Start Taking ACTION!

In this episode:

  • Eliminating those “can’t do that” thoughts

  • Getting crystal clear on the purpose behind something

  • Creating habits & accountability that keep you driven

  • Calling your shot, doing the work & taking action

Girl I am so happy you are here today because we’ve got a juicy little episode that I think you’re really gonna vibe with!!

I don’t know if you actually listen to the intro of this podcast, but I mention this concept called Purpose Driven Action (to build lives we really freaking love of course) that is actually a CORE VALUE of mine & it’s what I use to set really big goals in my life & then help me actually achieve those goals.

Today I really wanted to dive into this concept & why it matters to me, but also how it could really serve you in your life when you’re shooting for goals. So buckle up girl, we’re diving in & I can’t wait to hear what you think!

“Rather than thinking that woman is a unicorn & I could never do what she does… instead I ask, what skills does she have that I might need to acquire.”

“Whatever you need to stay accountable to show up for your habits is how you’re going to stay driven even when life throws curveballs.”

“Often action is not even massive, it’s these tiny little things that are so easy to do & so easy not to do, but girl you are going to call your shot & do it!”

“Nothing that’s handed to you on a silver platter feels as good as something you worked your freaking butt off for.”

[PEP TALK] 2 Ways to Find the LIGHT & Stay the course!!

In this episode:

  • Getting your head in the game & staying consistent

  • Focusing on the process rather than the end game

  • Looking for ways to prove that life is rigged in your favor

  • Learning to savor the stage you’re in right now

I am SO excited you are here today for this short little pep talk episode because I want to talk to you about how to get consistent & fall in love with the process rather than what the process could produce, and I want to help you tweak your perspective. If right now your world feels super chaotic, or it feels heavy, or you feel overwhelmed, I want to help you get your head in the game & adjust your focus so you can play for the long haul. I’m breaking down two separate ways that have helped me to keep my head in the game & stay really freaking consistent. I really think you could get a lot of value from this perspective & a tiny little tweak that could help you savor this stage you’re in. I can’t wait to hear what you think, so buckle up girl, I hope you’re ready!

“There is so much data that supports the fact that all of these things we’re taught to strive for in society that are really status driven, don’t actually contribute that much to our happiness.”

“It’s not really what’s happening, it’s about what you think about what’s happening that will determine your happiness, joy and fulfillment.”

“Progress & growth truly do bring deep fulfillment, but if you’re beating yourself up along the way or you’re not celebrating the small wins or you’re not getting obsessed with the process & you’re so laser focused on what the process could produce, you’re missing out.”

In this episode:

  • Identifying how what winning the day looks like for YOU

  • Focusing on your today & controlling what you can

  • Truly believing in your ability to figure it out

  • Taking inventory on what actually makes you happy

Hey girl! I am always just so excited to get to chat with you on this epic platform, & I was thinking that maybe you’re feeling how I’m feeling: that we need some JOY & LIGHT.

You know I like to think of us like we’re girlfriends chatting over coffee, & today I wanted to talk to you about two questions that I think are super powerful to ask yourself to make today feel a little less heavy.

Of course you know I want to give you tactical tips but also, let’s have some freaking fun too!

We are all aware of what is going on in the world right now, & I do not want to make light of that very real situation.

But, because I know I can’t help anyone when I’m in a dark spiraled down place, I try to get really intentional about sharing my gift & finding the silver lining in all things.

I also know that I have this ability to exude joy & to share it with you, and I truly believe to my core that humor heals.

Please shout out on Instagram or DM if this resonates with you, I’m sending so much love your way & I’ll talk to you soon girl!

“Maybe today, winning the day means this is the day that you draw a line in the sand & you say screw this, I’m not playing safe, I’m not gonna stick with comfy, I’m going for it.”

“Learning to truly believe in your ability to figure it out, so girl, let’s set you up for a win. And then day after day, we’re gonna wipe the slate clean, & then win the next day.”

“You’ve had happy days before so if you’re feeling down remember your life is a little bit different right now, the circumstances are different, but you can still be happy.”

“Maybe we can reframe this, just a little bit. Maybe this obstacle that you’re facing right now, the current state of the world & your world and how you’re getting impacted.. Maybe one day you’re actually gonna look back & have crazy tremendous gratitude for this exact season that you’re wishing away.”

Your Quarantini: A chat about making this time more FUN!

In this episode:

  • Keeping routines through massive changes in life

  • Creating a new normal that is sustainable for you

  • Making your day-to-day activities & tasks more fun

  • Finding ways to be social while also social distancing

I am REALLY excited about this episode because I feel like we’ve got to have an honest conversation, but we can also be a little bit lighter about the topic of anxiety during this crazy quarantine time.

My best friend Jacki & I are bringing a real talk chat about all things working from home, date night/girls night ideas, and really just managing our own stress, mindset and controlling the controllables. In times like this, where there is so much unknown & out of our control it’s easy to feel super down, stressed & anxious, and as a couple of pros at finding the silver lining, we wanted to share some tangible tips that could help you during this crazy time.

We are in this together, we will get through this together, and I think we can have a little fun along the way too, right?

Let us know what you think & if you try any of these things out!

“It’s a little thing, but don’t get caught up in getting so frustrated in your environment if you’re not taking a little bit of action in creating the environment that’s going to be helpful.”

“When there’s so much going on at the scale that it’s going on at, you can feel very helpless & you can feel very small… so even if it is buying a gift card or ordering from a local restaurant, you will feel so that you helped.”

“Find what your unique thing is that you’re able to offer & go put that out there, and you’re gonna feel like you’re making a difference.”

“When we are sitting in that place of just pure frozen anxiety, we feel very helpless because there’s so much out of our control. But if we can start to reframe certain little things, we can start to feel like we’re taking that control back.”

[PEP TALK] Tiny TWEAKS to help you GROW & EVOLVE!

In this episode:

  • The power of stacking tiny habits over time

  • Accepting that things might not workout on your timeline

  • Choosing to do those things that are easy to do but also easy not to do

  • Catching your IFs and replacing them with WHENs

I am so excited that you’re here today because we are talking about a couple of tiny tweaks that I think will be really powerful in helping you grow & evolve as a human!

Of course I am always picturing us as girlfriends just chatting having coffee, and sometimes I get feedback that we think we need to make these drastic changes, like huge pendulum swings, in order to make progress.

& I just don’t think it’s necessary to have such an extreme approach. We all want to & love to make progress, because we are human, and of course I want to help you build a life you’re obsessed with! But what I actually think that’s going to take, is constantly making tiny tweaks in your life to up-level.

So today I want to talk about two specific little tips that you can do now that don’t require huge drastic changes but will benefit you massively in the long run! I hope you love it

I can’t wait to hear what you think!

“It’s so overwhelming to think about drastic changes, which is why we often throw in the towel, cause it’s highly unlikely that you’re gonna stay consistent if you think that you’re constantly gonna have to be making these huge pendulum swings in your life.”

“You’ve gotta start catching those ‘ifs’ and turning them into ‘whens’ because we behave based off of what we believe which often comes from the language that we’re using.”

“I just do not believe that you’re gifted a vision for your life without the ability to figure it out.”

Disappointed or Frustrated? Play this for 3 Tips!

In this episode:

  • Letting yourself feel the disappointment & know that it’s okay

  • Paying attention to whether you are catastrophizing something

  • Identifying how you can lift yourself up with positive action

  • Taking care of your physical body even in times of disappointment

Hey girl, I am just so happy you are here today because we are going to have an honest and raw conversation about disappointment. While that doesn’t really sound like rainbows & butterflies & happy little unicorns, it’s important right now that we talk about these real honest conversations we need to have about some of the feelings that we’re feeling while navigating the current state of the world & the coronavirus. You know I like to talk about tangible things that you can actually implement to build a life you love & I want to keep it light and fun, but I also want to be real & raw & honest. I don’t know what your local community is like right now or the severity of the impact on you personally, and I don’t have all the answers, but I am here to tell you that I’m going to be honest & do whatever I can to help you, so I’m breaking down 3 steps that I’ve found to be helpful for navigating & dealing with disappointment or frustration in real time. I’m sending you each so much love & support, and I can’t wait to hear from you soon.

“There’s nothing wrong with you if you’re feeling disappointed. You’re human & you deserve to feel whatever the hell you are feeling, without judgement, let alone from yourself!”

“No matter what is externally going on, it;’s really important that you catch yourself in real time & you notice the thoughts that you’re thinking because that is the most powerful thing that you can control.”

“When you pull yourself up, when you take action, you’re gonna not only feel better but you can then be a light for someone else.”

[PEP TALK] Is your INACTION costing you TOO MUCH?

In this episode:

  • Intentionally looking at what your inaction is costing you

  • Getting real with yourself in your “comfy-ness”

  • The cost of not living up to your full potential

  • Listening to the rumble in your gut & calling your shot

Girl, I am so glad you are here today for this little pep talk!!!

As you know, I like to picture us like we’re girlfriends chatting & today we are having some SPICY margaritas because this one is short & saucy.

We’re talking about opportunity cost & we’re really going to dive into the fact that you not doing that thing that you wanna do, or choosing to stay stuck (because yes thats a choice!), or choosing to sit in analysis paralysis wondering if you should go do that thing… that is actually costing you, & often it’s a lot more than we even realize.

We often spend so much time thinking about what could go wrong or what it will cost us to do that thing, whether its time or money or social risk.

But the better question to ask is, what is it costing you to NOT do that thing? That’s the opportunity cost & I LOVE this topic, so I am really excited to dive into this with you! I hope you get something impactful from this today & of course let me know what you think!

“Make a list of what you’re leaving on the table if you don’t do it… are you leaving income? Impact? Fulfillment? Joy? Happiness? Confidence? A community of people like a sense of belonging? Just getting pumped up about the one shot here you have on the planet?”

“Are you also leaving on the table an opportunity to have someone that you love… that could see you showing up to your own life, making your life a freaking testimony of what it looks like to give up a good life & go for a great life.”

“If I stayed where I was at, I wasn’t gonna be living up to my potential. & for me, there is no greater cost. I’m not scared of regret, I’m scared of not living up to my potential.”

“What is your inaction costing you? That cost is not worth it.”

In this episode:

  • Getting super intentional about your environment

  • Paying attention to who you’re spending your time with

  • Breakdown of categories of friendships & how they serve you

  • Seeking friendships & people who help you level up

Today’s topic is SO powerful, I really think it’s going to resonate with you & I am so happy you are here!!

We’re talking about the thermostat for your life, in particular to your friendships.

Maybe you can relate to this stage of life like I am in where I am getting super intentional about my environment, both when it comes to my calendar but also my relationships & the people I am spending my time with and really understanding that other peoples’ energy & their current thermostat settings impacts me and how I show up.

We know how a thermostat works, right?

It’s job is to regulate the temperature back to whatever it is set to. So when cool air comes in, it cranks the heat & when hot air comes in, it will trigger the AC, all with the goal of regulating the temperature.

The same concept can apply to our friendships & how they affect our own thermostat for our lives.

Today, I want you to take inventory on those friendships in a few specific categories and make sure you are surrounded by those GROWTH friends who will help you level up!

I can’t wait to hear what you think girl!

“If you’re spending a ton of time with people & absorbing their ideas or taking their advice, that aren’t at the same temperature as you, they’re not gonna help you grow or elevate at all.”

“I don’t think you listen to a podcast like this if you’re happy with staying the same, you’ve got a gut feeling that you want more, you want to elevate, you want to keep getting better, you’re on a personal growth journey right?”

“I have so many mentors & people that I look at from afar that don’t even actually know me, that help me level up my game.”

“You’re on a personal growth journey which means it’s not always gonna be rainbows & butterflies & happy little unicorns, staying comfy isn’t gonna get you where you want to go.”

In this Episode:

  • Who you believe you are really actually matters

  • Your beliefs about yourself have to be serving you

  • Identifying the characteristics you truly want to embody

  • Changing your behaviors to match who you want to be

I love that you are here listening in today and it’s so cool to realize that even though I have no idea where you are, or what you’re doing, we have this platform to connect & I think you’re really going to love today’s topic.

It’s a short one, but we are talking about who you think you are, because who you BELIEVE that you are, that really freaking matters.

I’m going to share with you a little story I heard recently that is so powerful & can help hammer in this perspective that the stories that you’re telling yourself about who you are & who you wanna be, actually need to be serving you. They need to be helping to get you where you want to go rather than hindering your growth. The time is now, you are wildly capable.

Now girl, let's go get it!

“Who do you wanna be? What characteristics do you wanna embody? And are you creating the environment & then supporting it with the behaviors to make that identity a reality?”

“Truly ask yourself, are you willing to adapt the behaviors that are required to get there.”

“That type of unshakable conviction, sometimes that takes some time to build. That takes deposits of confidence every single day that you show up and keep a promise to yourself to do the thing that you said you were going to do after the feeling that you said it in is gone.”

She’s also giving us some tangible things that you can use to break through barriers or mindset patterns that might be holding you back. I just know you are going to love her like I do & we can’t wait to hear what you think!

  • Countdown by Beyonce

“Sometimes you can be addicted to the struggle, you can be addicted to the pain or because it’s familiar. Because it’s easier to stay miserable than uncertain.”

“There’s a kill-joy voice that happens, that we hear immediately. And whenever that voice starts to creep up, that kill-joy voice, you actually know that you’re on the right track.”

“You can lie to yourself but your body will never lie to you.”

“The bottom line is your gut tells you it’s time to go. But you don’t know what’s next & you don’t know how you’re gonna support yourself… new amazing energy cannot come in unless you make space.”

[PEP TALK} Wait, What's the Alternative!?

In this episode:

  • Learning to accept that it’s okay to have doubt

  • Embracing the pain of growing and evolving

  • Closing the doors that need to be closed by choice

  • Letting your experiences teach you & bring clarity

I’m so excited you are here today girl for this short pep talk because I know you are loving these short little episodes & will just love this topic! I’m picturing us just sitting in our sweats chatting on the couch with a glass of red wine & thinking maybe, you are in a season in your life right now where you’re not making progress as quickly as you want to.

Or maybe, you have no clue how you’re going to get where you want to go or you find yourself questioning whether you can or are capable of achieving what you want. If so, I hear you. Sitting in that for a minute & feeling all the feels is not comfortable, but it’s necessary & trust me girl, you are not crazy & you are not alone. & today I just want to pose the question, what’s your alternative? Can’t wait to hear what you think girl!

“You are not crazy for wanting more or wanting something different even if you’re grateful for your life right now.”

“Sometimes it actually feels like you’re breaking at first… But it just feels really hard sometimes. But it is a requirement, it is necessary, to get you where you wanna go.”

“We also have the choice of what we decide we’re gonna label as a ‘fail’ or as ‘failing.’ Cause why are we calling stumbling, or navigating curveballs… why are we calling that failing?”

“What is a better teacher than experience? Action brings clarity & experience brings you so much tools to put in your toolbox because you are gonna have to navigate every stage that you’re in.”

In this episode:

  • Being honest with yourself about what your goals really are

  • Calling yourself out when you’re playing small

  • Applying the 24 hour rule to make progress on your goal

  • Getting accountability & breaking down the steps you need

Buckle up girl, this one is SAUCY & I am SO excited that you’re here today because I think you’re really going to connect with this topic!

We’re talking about lying to ourselves, and in particular if you’re lying to yourself about what you really want.

This episode is for you if you’re maybe not throwing in the towel or giving up completely on your goals, but as you start going down that path of getting where you want to go, you catch yourself downgrading & then rationalizing the new dream that seems a little bit easier...

This is also for you if maybe you’re actually proactively giving yourself a copout because you’re not actually doing the work that’s required to get you where you want to go so that you have a built in excuse that if you don’t accomplish it, you can say it didn’t really matter to you. I warned you in the title, this is gonna be juicy & saucy but I think you will love it & of course, I can’t wait to hear what you really think so slide into those DMs or shout this one out on IG stories girl!

“Is there a chance, that you’re purposely not trying your hardest so that you can say that you didn’t give it your all or that it didn’t really matter to you, if it doesn’t work out?”

“This goal matters to you. It’s still gonna hurt if you fail. But that’s life! & I don’t think the point is to get to the end of life & say, wow, look I’ve got no bruises... look at me I kinda showed up.”

“That I’m gonna feel proud of myself, I’m gonna feel like I earned it. I’m gonna know that if I showed up & I gave it my all, that I’m gonna feel really proud every single day that I put my head on my pillow. That’s what I want for you.”

“The best way to build confidence & fulfillment, it’s not actually other people validating you & your goals. It’s you keeping promises to yourself.”

“You can’t lie to yourself, when deep down you know that you’re settling on a goal that doesn’t matter to you quite as much as the original goal that you downgraded from.”

The MINDSET tweak that you might be MISSING!

In this episode:

  • Taking inventory on whether you celebrate your effort or your accomplishments

  • Aligning your to-do lists with things you can actually control

  • Make note of the verbiage you are using in the questions you ask yourself

  • Becoming more self-aware & choosing a growth mindset

I am always SO excited that you are here girl, because how COOL is it that we get to connect on a platform like this?!

I don’t know what you’re doing or where you’re at while listening to this but regardless, I am going to make this count for you & deliver some tangible juicy stuff that you can actually implement.

Let me first set the stage with this quote I recently read, “As much as talent counts, effort counts twice.”

&I really started to think about it and how it might be affecting the way we’re showing up in the world.

How you perceive that question, of whether talent or effort matters more is so important to think about because it is really going to affect how you’re showing up in your life & how much you’re enjoying the process of getting to your goals.

I want to breakdown this concept as a whole and then of course finish up with 2 tangible tips that I think will really be impactful for you!

“People with a growth mindset, they have an underlying belief that their learning & their intelligence can grow with time & with experience.”

“You can do whatever you want as long as you’re willing to put the work in to keep getting better & falling a little bit more in love with the process than what the process could produce.”

“I believe that you do not arrive at confidence, it’s built daily like a muscle.”

“This concept of self-confirming bias is very powerful. It’s a very powerful part of if you’re going to feel happy & fulfilled in your life or not.”

Kelly McGonigal is an author, psychologist, and educator, who believes that it is possible to experience hope, joy, and meaning, even when things are difficult. • Move Your Body by SIA

“There is nothing like exercise in terms of its ability to change the function and the structure of your brain, to literally remodel your brain.”

“It doesn’t only reduce anxiety & stress… it profoundly changes who you are and your capacity to enjoy being a social creature.”

“We know that as soon as people begin to become more physically active… that because your heart rate is increasing, because you are energized, because you are breathing more deeply, because your muscles are being used, that the sense of self you have becomes almost immediately more confident & more optimistic.”

“Studies suggest within about 6 weeks, you’re seeing a different brain. That you will now have a brain that not only enjoys exercise more, but enjoys life more.”

“Movement is such an incredible way to experience yourself as someone who can learn, grow & change in ways that are personally meaningful & often in ways that surprise you.”

In this episode:

  • Showing yourself what you’re really made of

  • Building confidence where you’re at now

  • Getting excited about the inbetween stage

  • Being honest & having trust in the process

I am so pumped you are here for a quick little pep talk like we are girlfriends chatting over coffee, & what I want to talk about today is how you do not get to skip the beginning stage ever!

It is so tough to be at the very beginning, but girl, navigating through this is gonna be so worth it!

I too, don’t get to skip the beginning & I’m coming to you with this just hours after crying to Seena and reminding myself of this exact thing on a regular basis as well!

I was having that feeling in my gut that this thing is going to be SO massive & I just want it to be at the point that I know it can be right NOW....

Maybe you can connect with this feeling of being someone with a big vision of where you’re going & you want it right now because you are so freaking excited, but that can also make you frustrated that you have to “wait” to get there?!

If so...I’m excited to chat with you today about WHY this stage is actually NECESSARY!! Can’t wait to hear what you think girl!

“Even if you have experience, you still have a beginning for something brand new.”

“Get your head back in the game. Remind yourself that you were not given this dream or this vision for your life or this goal by accident. You’re gonna have to buckle up & keep on going.”

“Please, make sure that you are not letting yourself… choose to get frustrated & bogged down by how far you have to go to get where you wanna go.”

[INTERVIEW] Want to DOMINATE 2020? It's time to make your vision BIGGER!

In this episode:

  • Creating a longer-term vision for your life

  • Identifying the habits & traits you want

  • Setting & sticking to your true life standards

  • Allowing yourself to be out of balance on purpose

On the show today we have a woman that I deeply admire, Liz Hartke that I think you are REALLY going to love!

Liz is a wife, a mom of 3 littles, she’s the host of the Scaling Up podcast & she has built two extremely impactful businesses.

One business is in network marketing, and one is a business where she helps impact driven entrepreneurs find creative ways to scale & monetize their brands while keeping their vision & the legacy they want to have in mind.

I wanted Liz to come on the show not only because I adore this woman, but she also has a very powerful way that she talks about vision, not just for entrepreneurs but for any woman that has a big dream for her life.

Often we’ve got this massive dream but struggle with how to actually get there, like what are the tangible things we need to do to get us from here where we are to where we want to go, can't wait to hear what you think!

  • Teach Me How to Dougie by Cali Swag District

  • Return of the Mack by Mark Morrison

  • All About the Benjamins by Diddy

“The only evidence that any of us need that something is possible for us, is that one other person did it.”

“You want to dominate 2020? Stop planning for 2020… because you’re gonna think five years ahead and then you’ll know exactly what to do this year to make sure you’re getting to that five year plan.”

“That vision isn’t just about the goals you set as the mile markers to get to it… it’s about the fact that who you are today is not the person that will achieve that vision.”

“If you’re feeling in a rut, where are you going? Get pumped up about like the vision for your future, what you’re creating, get tangible with it.”

UGH What's my "THING"?! A Piece of Advice from my Grandma

In this episode:

  • Identifying the things in life or the world that frustrate you

  • Honoring your gut feeling to understand what you want in life

  • Tangible advice to begin figuring out what’s next for you

  • Getting excited about what your learning along the way

Girl, I think you are REALLY going to vibe with this episode where I am sharing a personal story with you and a little piece of advice from my grandma.

Of course, you know I am always visualizing us sitting here chatting & today it’s over wine with a little more on the real talk bestie vibe happening.

Today I wanted to share with you a stage of my life that I know you will relate to because I hear from so many of the women in The Collective about having this feeling of like, “ugh I feel frustrated, I’m stuck.”

& it’s coming from two ways, one where they just don’t know what their “thing” is or two, they do know the what, but don’t know how they’re going to get there.

I had this feeling at a point in my life when everything on paper seemed right, but I got this gut feeling of wanting more & not feeling fulfilled. &then I got some epic advice from my grandma, and that’s what I want to share with you today because I really think it will help you too!

“She suggested that I find things in the world that make me frustrated that I might wanna change & that would help with the direction part. So simple, but so powerful.”

“Is there something that bothers you in the world… something that maybe is maybe a problem that’s annoying to you that you could be excited about being part of the change in.”

“Maybe, you navigating this feeling is gonna help you get where you need to go.”

“I don’t believe that we have one thing in our life as constantly evolving people, but I do think that fixing problems… could help you feel more fulfilled in your life.”

3 Tips to Stop letting other people's opinions hold you back!

In this episode:

  • Focusing on controlling the controllables

  • Believing that your dream is in you for a reason

  • Understanding the concept of borrowing belief

  • Remembering that you get to pick your problems

I’m so excited you are here today because we are talking about navigating other peoples’ opinions, because so often THAT is the thing that holds us back from getting us where we want to go in our life, in our relationships & in our business!

I don’t want you to feel stuck so I’m giving you some tactical tools that will help you take purpose driven action to build a life that you love even when other people might naysay or make comments about what you’re doing in your life.

Personally, I do actually care what other people think about me, I just care what I think the most which has helped me navigate those comments that weren’t really the best ones that I wanted to hear & I’m excited to share these tips with YOU!!

“Do you actually want the life of the person naysaying you… I think it’s really powerful to just validate the source because I have yet to have someone naysaying me who’s living a life that I actually want to be living.”

“Is this thought actually serving me to think all of these negative things about this other person… that’s not serving you. The byproduct of that is not going to make you happy & excited about your life.”

“This dream is in you for a reason & part of that reason is to show another woman out there what’s possible.”

[PEP TALK] To help you get PUMPED UP after a SETBACK or CURVEBALL

In this Episode:

  • Re-framing the “Life is happening TO ME mindset”
  • Looking at Setbacks/Curveballs as an Opportunity
  • Building confidence through resiliency
  • Thinking of who will benefit as a Bi-Product of you doing that thing on your heart

I’m SO excited that you are here for this PEP TALK EPISODE inspired by a woman who’s in my Collective Community and said to me…

“UGH KAC, I just KNOW I can be doing better in all aspects of my life and in my business but I feel like every time I start making progress, I keep getting set backs in weird ways and then Im douting myself… I just don’t know why this is happening TO me”.

I know we have have probably both had that feeling before, but also the FIRST thing I pointed out to her...

That word is SO small but SO IMPORTANT.

Because TRULY, you may have heard this before… but it's the most SIMPLE TWEAK IN YOUR MINDSET that can change the game on your WHOLE DAMN life, how you PERCEIVE yourself, your ABILITY, and the people in your life and WORLD AROUND YOU if you start to capture tiny little words like that!

So today we are going to dive into this topic with a little more UMPH! Can't wait to hear what you think!

"I believe to my CORE that HAPPY FULFILLED, Successful people doubt themselves all the time, &  they royally screw up on things and have major failures too…. the difference is…they just ask themselves better QUESTIONS”.

“The difference between YOU and a woman you ADMIRE who is maybe CRUSHING GOALS and just freaking DOMINATING RIGHT NOW  is not how SMART she is  or how CAPABLE SHE IS…it’s just that she is not STAYING DOWN AS LONG. “

"What if you started to realized you are SUPPOSED to FAIL to LEARN an important lesson? What if all those experiences along the way we you are SO ANNOYED at the time are happening FOR YOU and are ACTUALLY supposed to prepare you so you can HANDLE what’s coming next?

Screw GOOD; It's time for GREAT!

In this episode:

  • Slowing down long enough to hear your intuition

  • Listening to the rumble in your belly that you want more

  • Staying grateful for the good while also honoring the desire for great

  • Releasing the comparisons that are holding you back

I’m so excited you are here today for this saucyepisode because I am comin' in hot with some real talk about giving up good & going for great.

If you are the woman right now who’s doing pretty good in life, nothing’s going horribly wrong, but you still feel this feeling that you want more, this episode is definitely for you.

There are so many of these “checklist items” (the degree, the job, the marriage, the house) that are celebrated in our society just for being good. But, if you are quiet for a second & just slow down to listen to your GUT, for some reason you’ve got that rumble deep in your belly that you want great in some or many aspects of your life.

So girl, why are you shoving that feeling down or wishing it away? It’s time to listen to that roar in your gut & go for great!

I can’t wait to hear what you think of this one girl!

“If deep down in your belly, you’ve got this rumble or roar for great & good is actually underwhelming you because you’ve got fire in your belly, you also have to honor that feeling.”

“It is one of the hardest places to be when everything is actually good. You’re not to the point where you’re so uncomfortable where your back is against the wall & you have to make a change.”

“Think about what you actually want. What could great look like in a particular area of your life?”

“I do not think it’s selfish if you want more. If you want to give up good, and go for great.”

Let's make a PACT: Screw Doubt, It's time to SHOW UP!

In this Episode:

  • Ditching the wish for things to be easier

  • Doubt is normal when you are growing

  • Ending the BS belief that “I’m not motivated”

  • Thinking of future you when you want to quit

Girl I am so excited you are here today because we are making a PACT. Something I hear all the time, is wishing things were easier, or that you were more motivated to do the work....

& I’m just gonna be real with you here and remind you that EASY will rob you of PROUD.

I don’t know about you, but I’ve never heard someone BRAG about everything being easy & being handed to them on a silver platter.

No, she doesn’t brag about how easy something was, she’s going to brag about the hard work because that’s going to make her feel proud. You are not always going to feel like it, pushing toward your goals, growing & evolving, it’s not always going to be happy little unicorns coming out of your butt, you know this!

So today we are making a pact on two things we are going to do together and I hope you are IN it with me!

“We cannot rob ourselves of the opportunity to feel proud by wishing things were easier.”

“Can’t anxious mean that it matters to you? Can’t all of that BS doubting yourself mean that you’re on the right path & you’re growing? Can’t you view these feelings as an opportunity to learn & evolve and feel so damn proud of yourself later?”

“We’ve gotta stop using this sentence, ‘I’m not motivated’ as a BS excuse to avoid the work that’s actually required, because we know that we have to show up even on the days that we don’t feel like it if we wanna make progress.”

“Action, even small steps, tiny little steps in the right direction bring clarity & confidence. And that’s gonna help get you where you wanna go.”

In this episode:

  • Social anxiety & intimacy in relationships

  • Getting to the core of where anxiety stems from

  • Conversations about anxiety in relationships

  • Understanding why we catastrophize our lives

Kristi Thrailkill is a licensed psychotherapist & owner of Baltimore Family Therapy.

Kristi specializes in anxiety and other mood disorders, and loves working in the scope of human relationships, doing some of her best work with couples and families, or with individuals balancing relationship struggles.

I am SO excited to have Kristi back on the show today to dive even more into anxiety because so many of you vibed with the first episode she was on, so of course I had to get her back!

I get so many questions from you about anxiety & I really wanted to have someone who could really talk like we’re girlfriends chatting having coffee but also back it up with a lot of tangible things that you can actually implement.

We talk about a wide range of topics based on real life questions from the members of our Collective community, so I know this is going to serve you in massive ways!

I can’t wait to hear what you think & of course tag us on IG @kacia.fitzgerald & @bmorefamilytherapy_  with your takeaways!!

  • Gold Dust Woman by Fleetwood Mac

“We are as humans so affected by the relationships that we’re in, if you think about any time you’ve been happy or sad there’s usually another human connected to that.”

“All types of anxiety, & there’;s so many forms of it, stem from something, somewhere. Whether it be the way your brain chemistry is working, the way you’ve experienced something in the past, a trauma that’s happened to you before, anything.. There’s a stem from it.”

“So much of our fears & our anxiousness & our overwhelm is with a lack of plan. And if we had routine & plan, how much of that would we not be worried about.”

Female Friendships: RESPECTING each other's LIFE VISION

In this episode:

  • Having mutual respect during different life phases

  • Owning your vision of what happiness looks like

  • Perspective on the flip-side of your own milestones

  • Embody your story & honor others embodying theirs

I'm so excited for you to listen into this episode that's a little bit different but I think it’s going to empower you to build a life that you love because we are going to talk about understanding someone else’s life path even if it’s different than yours.

I’m giving you a real life example of my relationship with one of my very best friends who is currently living a totally different life than what I want right now, just as much as she wouldn’t want my life right now.

But we are still fiercely supportive of each other, and that’s what I’m excited to chat with you about today.

Everyone’s vision in their life is different and we have to honor & respect that.

I can’t wait to hear what you think and if you are loving this kind of content please let me know!!

“Pushing your idea of happiness onto someone else, even if they’re a best friend, who’s got a different vision for their life, is not only annoying but it could legit ruin your friendship.”

“We can have grace & compassion to understand that someone not wanting what we want does not mean that they’re ‘wrong’.”

“There’s no ‘right & wrong’ in life… we are all unique individuals with different dreams placed on our heart.”

“The secret sauce to fulfillment, is doing what YOU feel called to do & respecting other people who are doing them too.”

Pep Talk: Savor the Stage You're In!

In this episode:

  • Stop wishing away today & savoring the now

  • Identifying benefits from navigating your challenges

  • Showing up every day to make yourself proud

  • Celebrating yourself & your effort in the moment

Today, I am coming at you with a short little pep talk & I’m going to challenge you to do something today that I think will seriously improve the quality of your life, especially if you make this into a consistent practice.

It’s so damn simple..... all I want you to do is to get a little more intentional about savoring the stage that you’re in, like right now in your life in all aspects.

You used to dream about being where you are right now, right?

All of those challenges & feelings of doubt you had to work through, and here you are!

&now, you’re striving for the next goal which is amazing, but I don’t want you to just waste today away wishing for what’s next to come faster.

I want you to be here, be present and savor the growth you are creating right now.

I’m so excited for you girl & I can’t wait to hear what you think of this little quick pump up!

“Remember when you wanted to be where you are literally right now in your life? All the crap that you had to navigate, the work that you had to put in… look at you. You are here.”

“There’s always so much going on behind closed doors. Every single person who’s ever accomplished anything that you want has absolutely doubted herself.”

“What if today, you decided, I’m actually just gonna savor today… you just take a second, and you think: life is rigged in my favor, even when I don’t feel like it I’m going to just believe that right now. I’m going to choose to grow through what I go through.”

Through the Lens of FUTURE You; Today MATTERS!

In this episode:

  • Identifying measurable action steps you can take

  • Getting clear on how you want to show up as a human

  • Looking through the lens of your future self

  • Being grateful for past you & what she accomplished

Girl! I am so happy you are here today because we are talking about future you!

Specifically, we are diving into three different views on a future version of yourself.

First is the future you at the end of today, like when you put your head on your pillow.

Then we are talking about future you in exactly one year from today.

& finally, future you five years from now.

Of course you know how I roll and I want to make sure I give you some real tangible stuff that you can implement in real time.

If you’re in a stage of life where you’re in a transition or pivot of any kind, I just want to tell you that I get it & any weird thoughts that may be coming up, are totally normal!

I’m going to walk you through where I am at personally & the changes/pivots I am navigating and why this topic is so important to me, and hopefully will be for you too!

Can’t wait to hear what you think!

“The biggest difference between successful people crushing their goals & people that feel stuck is simply, successful people just get back up quicker.”

“What does future you, one year from today, need you to do today? What gift can you give her today?”

“The things that seem insignificant to do today, will serve her massively. So think about her, she is so damn grateful for you, please girl show up for her!”

“Failure is scary. Calling your shot is scary. But being in the exact same place as you are today, with shoulda woulda couldas wishing you would have showed up is so much scarier, isn't it?”

Let's get PUMPED about the PURSUIT of our DREAMS!

In this episode:

  • Enjoying the person you become in the pursuit

  • Finding your baseline pace that is actually sustainable

  • Developing your belief muscle that it will work out

  • Labeling the space between where you are & want to go

Hey girl, I am SO excited you are listening in today!

As you know, I think of us like girlfriends and I like to think of us just sitting across from each other chatting & I really want to just have a real talk conversation with you about the journey towards your goals.

I wrote a little mantra on a post-it note that says ‘good things take time, great things just take a little longer.”

I needed that for myself, but I thought that you could connect with that too that when we’ve got these big dreams for our life it’s going to take us awhile to get there!

We want to be the people that just buckle up & commit to making the journey toward getting there more fulfilling, fun & enjoying the person we’re becoming along the way, right?

So today I want to give you a few real life tangible tips you can implement to help get more pumped about the PURSUIT of those dreams!

Can’t wait to hear what you think girl!

“Sometimes it’s not actually the work that you need to do to get you where you wanna go… it’s that you’re often your own worst critic... you will make it through. You will be so much more confident when you push through this.”

“It’s easier just to stay consistent with a certain pace, even if that’s a little bit slower, than to sprint & then stop because it takes so much more energy to get started again.”

“It won’t workout the way you had planned but it could, there is a potential that it could be even better… you’ve got to really believe that to be true.”

“We’ve gotta remind ourselves that the stories that we’re telling ourselves really freaking matter so they’re got to be stories that serve us.”

In this episode:

  • Getting intentional about scheduling priorities proactively

  • Saying no anytime it’s not a hell yes

  • Understanding what you are saying no to when you say yes

  • Embracing the freedom of just being honest

Girl! I am so excited you are here today because we are talking all about the topic of getting confident in your yes’s AND in your no’s.

I know you’ve got all these goals & this vision for 2020 of doing all the things, and I want to just make sure that you’re being proactive about the fact that you’re gonna have to say no to some things.

This topic came up because of a message I got on Instagram from a woman who was asking me advice as she was struggling to say "no", even when she knew she WANTED to say no, because she felt GUILTY for not saying yes, which I know so many of us can relate to!

So today I wanted to chat with you about a few tangible tips that have worked for me to help say no to things that deep down don’t feel like a hell yes in order to have time to do the things that actually get you excited & honor your own priorities!

I hope this is so helpful for you!! I can’t wait to hear what you think!

“How can you say it’s a priority if you don’t have a plan for it?”

“When you know the order of your priorities, and then you schedule them, you’re gonna feel so much more balanced and you’re gonna feel congruent with what you actually want in your gut and then what you’re actually doing on the day to day basis.”

“If you’re really trying to make changes in your life, you have to build a no muscle, it is a requirement.”

“It is your job to honor your priorities and build the life that you freaking love.”

I am so pumped about so many of you that are setting these epic goals & all of these really inspiring ideas that you have and you’re just getting out of your own damn way to do it & I’m so excited for you!

I also feel like friend-to-friend, I want to do my best to proactively prepare you for the fact that you’re going to be cruising along towards your goal, and then you’re gonna hit a roadblock.

And that’s not to be a total downer, but it is all just part of it

& I want to make sure you know that you’re not alone when you doubt yourself and of course I want to give you a couple of tools that have been super helpful for me as I’ve started to navigate this journey myself.

I hope this hits home for you & really helps you blow ish up this year & this DECADE! Can’t wait to hear what you think girl!

“You’re not crazy, you’re just passionate! You want this to work out, you care! And girl, that’s amazing that you have something that you care about. That’s a gift that I wish I could give everyone.”

“You know that if it goes well, it could change the course of your life... and you know in your gut you have this feeling that this is the right move & you just feel this pull that you have to honor it.”

“Just because you’re feeling all the feels that doesn’t mean that you’re on the wrong path. That means you’re normal, that means you’re growing, that means that you’re doing something that you care about.”

“Nope, this is not me talking. This is my feelings talking. I know I’m capable, feelings are just part of this growth journey. I’m good, I’ve got this, let’s go!”

Let's make 2020 your YEAR: Time to UPGRADE your MINDSET!

In this episode:

  • Noticing the statements that aren’t serving you

  • Identifying the habits you want to adopt

  • Putting on your curiosity lense & ask better questions

  • Acknowledging & upgrading your thoughts

Can you believe we are about to not only close out this year, but this DECADE?? Are you ready girl?!

I’m so glad you are here today because I’m excited to chat with you all about language & how much freaking POWER is in the words that we use.

I want to breakdown a few common “I am” or “I am NOT” statements we often tell ourselves that just don’t serve us and also help open your mind to some NEW things we can say to embody whatever habits or goals we have for life.

By the end of this episode, we are going to say GOODBYE to some thoughts & statements we are saying currently that are NOT serving us, and say HELLO to a new upgraded “I am” statement to bring into the new year, or whatever new phase of life you’re in. Girl, we are doin’ the damn thing in 2020, let’s go!

“When we say things in a conditional way, we’re deciding that we can’t change them. But really we can change anything with effort & desire to change, right?”

“Sometimes the things that we are saying, we actually do want to change, but sometimes we don’t change them until they are like really inconvenient or they bring a lot of discomfort to us or to people that matter to us. And I don’t want it to get that bad.”

“We have the power to change our thoughts by catching the statements that we’re saying because those words matter.”

“Your brain is going to look for evidence to support those ‘I am’ statements that you’re saying in your head, even if you’re not saying them out loud.”

It's time to Drop the BS cuz.... YES YOU CAN!

In this episode:

  • Understanding how much time things really take

  • Ignorance is a choice - be more resourceful

  • Using others as proof that you can too

  • Choosing to be the inspiration & lead the way

I know this is a crazy time of year, but I am SO excited you are here today because I really want to have an honest conversation with you about why you freaking CAN do that thing.

Of course that means I am going to call you out on a couple of super common BS stories & excuses you might be saying that is convincing yourself that you can’t.

We often LOOK for the reasons we CAN’T do something when we could just as easily look for the reasons we CAN do the thing.

Our brains are trying to protect us because we are not naturally wired to just leap outside of our comfort zone. I have noticed that there are three main excuses that we give ourselves for NOT doing something, so today I want to dive into those & help you DROP those excuses cuz girl, you are doing the damn thing!

Can’t wait to hear what you think!

“Remind yourself, you don’t needs tons & tons of time to do that thing. Even a small step forward is gonna give you that momentum.”

“Consistent action brings more clarity, but also deep confidence. And the more confident that you can get yourself, the easier it’s gonna be for you to navigate all of the curveballs.”

“Maybe you know that you can do this, but you are looking at other people who you think are better at it than you so you’re throwing in the towel before you start.”
“You can get where you wanna go, your way.”

4 ways to Boost your CONFIDENCE in REAL TIME!

In this episode:

  • Making small daily confidence bucket deposits

  • Learning to celebrate yourself regularly

  • Figuring out how to get yourself pumped up

  • Taking advantage of the ‘Happiness trifecta’

You know, the style of this podcast is like we are girlfriends, sitting together chatting over coffee, but here’s the catch: I’m not really your go with the flow light fluffy style girlfriend.

I’m more like the one that is up in your face like “let’s gooooo! Take ownership, let’s do the damn thing!” so, I’m your saucy girlfriend, and I am SO excited you’re here with me today.

So first things first, I want to remind you that it’s YOUR job to believe in yourself, not anybody else's.

And the quicker we can all get on board with that concept, the easier it gets to navigate life because we don’t get let down as much! One thing that we can each own, is our confidence & our journey towards building confidence. So, because I like to think of confidence like a bucket that you make deposits into, today I wanted to share 4 quick ways that you can continue making deposits into that confidence bucket in real time! I know you are gonna dig this episode & I can’t wait to hear what you think girl!!

“Sometimes we get into this really nasty pattern of focusing on all the missteps or how far we think that we have to go until we get where we want to go, versus how far we’ve come! But reflecting & giving ourselves the opportunity to feel proud really freaking matters.”

“Just remembering that you have an able body that can go outside, can go for a walk & call someone you love… you have a gift of an able body that so many people don’t have, let’s not take that for granted.”

“The pure act of kindness can help us feel happier & confident & excited.”

Feeling OVERWHELMED?! Play this for some QUICK TIPS!

In this episode:

  • Managing overwhelm in real time

  • Proactively preventing overwhelm in the future

  • Building confidence by getting important things done

  • Time blocking, scheduling catch-up time & outsourcing

I’m so happy you are here today because we are loading that toolbox of yours up with tools to navigate this crazy season of life!

Yes, it’s the season to be ‘jolly,’ but it’s also the season where we often get a little overwhelmed, or stressed, or we have to navigate interesting dynamics.

Let’s first set the stage, when I say overwhelm I’m referring to when your brain is just so full you kind of feel like a computer with 800 million tabs open & like you’re going to actually explode.

It’s not only uncomfortable, but it’s not healthy to stay in that state for very long because it can lead to anxiety, a real ugly cry, or getting angry at someone that maybe doesn’t deserve it, but it could also lead to you throwing in the towel on your dreams because you don’t feel capable.

So today I am going to breakdown my go-to tips for managing the overwhelm in real time and also a few tips for proactively preventing overwhelm in the future.

I think this can be really powerful & hope it really resonates with you! & of course I can’t wait to hear what you think, so don’t hesitate to tag me on Instagram & let me know!

“So often, we spend so much of our brain capacity worrying about all of these things that are likely not even gonna happen or they’re not relevant right now.”

“Is there something that you are spending your time doing that doesn’t actually require you to be the one doing it that could give you more time & bandwidth to focus on the things that could only be done by you?”

“Smart people ask for help because they know they can’t show up as their best selves if they’re burnt out.”

Life throws CURVEBALLS.. Are you going to get back UP?

In this episode:

  • Tips for building your RESILIENCE muscle
  • Navigating the uncomfortable & scary feelings associated with growth
  • Changing our perspective on failure or setbacks

Girl I’m so excited you’re here today because we are talking about how IMPORTANT it is that we CHOOSE hard in life & how freaking CRUCIAL it is that we PROACTIVELY build up that MUSCLE of RESILIENCE.

I want to help us get to the point that WHEN WE get down or feel LOW…. it actually feels SO FREAKING WEIRD to stay down because we are SO used to getting back up.

Because life WILL throw curveballs and being MORE resilient makes it easier to navigate and ALSO gives us an opportunity to FEEL PROUD & build CONFIDENCE RIGHT?

& ALSO today we are going to dive into why it's NECESSARY for us to DO things outside of our comfort zone if we want to get BETTER at ANYTHING but also how NORMAL it is to be SCARED or feel UNCOMFORTABLE when we are growing.

I think this will be JUICY & I really hope it’s impactful for you!

Please don’t hesitate to shout out your takeaways on Instagram & share with your friends! XOXO

“Your FUTURE self needs the opportunity of you CHOOSING to do hard things to feel PROUD because once you’ve done something hard you’ve proven you CAN do hard things and that’s going to help you navigate it in the future with more confidence”

"OF COURSE we are going to be SCARED doing something NEW. OF COURSE it’s not going to FEEL GOOD to grow. But isn’t that a GOOD FEELING? To know that you CARE and you are EMOTIONAL because it MATTERS to YOU?"

“The difference between SUCCESSFUL people CRUSHING GOALS and people who maybe AREN’T seeing the success they want right now is HOW LONG THEY let themselves STAY DOWN. Your rebound time MATTERS"

In this episode:

  • Choosing to take yourself off the back-burner

  • Owning the fact that your life impacts others

  • Modeling what you want to see more in the world

  • Changing the BS stories you say about yourself

Yay! Girl I’m so excited you’re here today because we are talking about a topic that can sometimes be a little “fluffy” or light, but you probably know by now that’s not really my style.

I really want to be like your saucy girlfriend with some real talk tangible things that you can actually implement, so we are talking about self-love but with a bit of a different take.

If YOU are struggling with your own self-worth or even if someone you love is struggling with just really feeling like they love themselves.... THIS is your episode girl!

Please don’t hesitate to shout out your takeaways on Instagram & share with your friends & help lift them up too!!

“If you decide that it’s your responsibility to model behavior that will influence her then it looks like you have to make yourself a priority… it matters that you show up because she is counting on you.”

“While none of us will ever be perfect, we can’t strive for perfection, we can all get better.”

“Whatever you look for, you will find. In a person and in yourself.”

“Girl we need you, not to be perfect, but to be you. And to commit to just being on this journey, which sometimes is a roller coaster, but we’re girlfriends. We’re in this together.”

Finding JOY even when it's CRAPPY

In this episode:

  • Constantly striving to be more self-aware

  • Feeling all the feels without dismissing them

  • Figuring out what you actually need for personal growth

  • Looking at your joy as a gift

Hey girl, I am SO excited that you are here because I think this topic is going to be so powerful if you are in a season of your life where you are struggling at all or even if you just know someone who is.

Or maybe, you just want to get proactive about putting more tools in your toolbox for when life does throw you a curveball that you can feel more equipped to navigate it.

I shared a couple episodes back about how I had just lost a friend of mine, Brittany, to cancer after Thanksgiving & wanted to spread her mission of living life on purpose.

What I didn’t share, was some of the different emotions I experienced after such a tough loss & today I wanted to break down a few tangible tips that helped me continue to find & experience JOY during a really crappy time.

I hope this is helpful for you & I hope you will pass it along to anyone else you think might benefit from it!

Can’t wait to hear what you think girl!

“I knew that I had to allow myself to feel all of the feels and not dismiss any of them as right or wrong, including the positive feelings.”

“Being more self aware of what I need to feel like a full complete happy person what extremely helpful & it’s something that you can do proactively.”

“Personal growth and navigating your own mindset like thinking about your thoughts & how you want to approach life.. Is everything, perspective is everything.”

“Becoming more self aware is the biggest gift that we can give ourselves & the world.”

Take OWNERSHIP of your thoughts & let's freaking GOOOO!

In this episode:

  • Catching your thoughts & changing them

  • Being responsible for your second thoughts

  • Intentionally focusing on the questions we ask

  • Breaking the habit of hesitating in thought

Ok girl, I am just so excited you are with me today to dive into this topic! I came up with this concept because I have seen a lot of talented people bury their potential under excuses, and I am OVER IT!

I’m also seeing so many amazing women countdown the days until Friday every single week while pretending that the joy you can have in the other days don’t matter as much.

I think of us like girlfriends, and I am on a mission to make sure that you LOVE your freaking life & we do not have time for that!

So, in today’s episode I wanted to leave you with just one major takeaway that's a common topic discussed in Psychology about how you don't have to be responsible for your FIRST thought, but you’ve got to take ownership of your SECOND thought.T

hat’s it, that’s what we’re talking about today & diving into it on a MICRO & MACRO level---I just know you are going to vibe with it! So let’s freaking go girl!

“You’re not responsible for your first thought, but you damn well better be responsible for your second thought & take ownership on that.”

“Often, we’re hard on ourselves because we’re not catching our first thought, so then we’re letting it spiral down… it has the ability to, on a larger scale, hold us back from chasing our big dreams.”

“That woman who’s achieving that thing that you want to achieve, that’s doing that thing that you wanna do or just that you deem she does it better than you right now. The only difference is that she thinks differently than you.”

“Stop fearing failure but instead start fearing not living up to your damn potential.”

Committing to LIVING LIFE on PURPOSE!

In this episode:

  • Living life in a more purposeful way

  • Avoiding those “shoulda woulda couldas”

  • Scheduling your actual priorities first

  • Calling your shot & really owning it

I’m so glad you are here today, because this episode is going to be so impactful

& it’s a really important message I want to share that I truly hope you can help me spread.

I’m coming at you recording this episode after losing a really incredible friend of mine, Brittany Crosby, to stage 3 ovarian cancer.

This loss has been devastating & while I am glad that not only is she no longer in pain, I’m also so glad & inspired that while she was here she made it count, every single day.

In all honesty, in her 30 years she lived more, loved more & just showed up more than most people do in an entire lifetime. The legacy that she left in me is one that will be ingrained in me always, and I wanted to share that with you which is to LIVE LIFE ON PURPOSE.

It’s about doing things not just to get them done, but because the experience of doing it was the magic.

I hope this message resonates with you & I really hope you will help me spread this episode with the people in your life so we can all honor Brittany by living our lives with purpose.

“You don’t wanna go through your life with all these massive to-dos where your priorities become an afterthought.”

“Ask yourself, what actually matters to me and am I showing up for what matters to me most?”

“How often are we consuming content more than we’re showing up to life & what’s happening around us? Because when we look up from our damn phones, the people that are in front of us might not be there anymore.”

“The society that we live in is constantly telling us that we need to be on.. It’s so much chaos. But we need to be where we are, where our feet are.”

“There’s never gonna be perfect, but there is always today. Right here, right now.”

Family Dynamics: Releasing EXPECTATIONS & changing PERSPECTIVE

In this episode:

  • Identifying the things we need to unlearn

  • Releasing the expectations we put on others

  • Assuming that people are doing the best they can

  • Being selective on who we take advice from

As we are going into the holiday season, that means a lot of family gatherings, & sometimes we can get anxious or proactively stressed out from knowing that we are going to be around certain people who might trigger us & so sometimes we come into these gatherings in a reactive state.... right?

So I wanted to take this episode to dig into this topic a little deeper and talk about releasing expectations.

Whether it’s the expectations we have of how someone “should” act or an expected outcome from a certain situation, we tend to play it out before we even get there.

That’s just not a fun way to live life that causes a bunch of unnecessary stress, so today I am breaking down 4 little tips you can put into play TODAY to help you navigate these situations to have the most uplifting & rewarding experience possible.

Can’t wait to hear what you think girl!

“Part of becoming an adult means we’ve gotta unlearn some of the stuff that we were taught.”

“We all have feelings, we all struggle, we’re all just trying to do what we can do to figure out this journey through life… we’ve gotta just give them some grace.”

“We can either choose to get annoyed by that or we can just release the expectations as a whole. Girl, which one feels better?”

“You can choose to take today and make it whatever the hell you want.”

Why you've just gotta START SCARED! It's LAUNCH DAY!!!

In this episode:

  • Acknowledging your feelings without judgement

  • Stop pretending you’re not scared & own it

  • Rewrite & upgrade the story you’re telling yourself

  • Expecting the challenge & discomfort of starting

GIRL, I am SO PUMPED that you are here today!!

I can’t wait to dive into this topic & give you two ways to start before you’re ready even if you have no idea what the heck you’re doing.

Honestly, it feels extra appropriate to talk about this topic TODAY, because girl I am feeling all the feels!

I am also overwhelmed with gratitude for YOU & for you being part of this podcast community.

Today, November 25th 2019, is officially LAUNCH DAY of my new company, She Goes, that I would have never even thought to create had it not been for the support & the experience of this podcast over the last year.

I’ve connected with SO many amazing people through social media because of this podcast & now I am on a mission to create tools that are going to help us take purpose driven action towards building lives that we really freaking love & I am here for it!

I didn’t know what I was doing starting this podcast, and again don’t really know what I’m doing as I kick off this new business with actual PRODUCTS.

But that’s not stopping me, because it’s always going to be scary & nerve-racking at first because you’ve never done it before! That’s not a reason to quit on your dreams girl, so let’s do the damn thing!

Can’t wait to hear what you think & of course let me know if you grab the With Intention game planner or join our online community, The Collective!

“It’s not stupid if you’re scared, it’s not dumb if you’re nervous, it’s not crazy if you feel like you’re gonna vomit just out of the pure nervousness.”

“Growth doesn’t always feel good… but why the hell do we let ourselves fail and faceplant all the time as kids, but then we become adults and we just expect that we have it all figured out.”

“It does not mean you can’t do it, it just means you haven’t done it yet.”

“We should expect that the first time is going to be the hardest to navigate because it is the most unfamiliar.

In this episode:

  • Digging deep into what you really want

  • Attaching visuals & feelings to your dreams

  • Letting yourself truly dream big

  • Breaking down 8 concepts of your ideal life

Today’s episode is a little different, but I am SO excited you are here because I’m going to walk you through something that I think is going to be so powerful for you like it is for me.

We are diving into the concept of visualizing our ideal futures.

I’m going to ask you to dig deep by asking yourself some questions that will help you determine what you want and what it’s going to look like & feel like.

This is a bit different because I hope you will actually write this down.

There is a PDF linked here that you can follow along with & fill out, but I think you’re going to want to listen to this one a couple times while you really dig into your life vision!

This is such a powerful tool that I want to help you master so that you can always have it in your toolbox moving forward.

I can’t wait to hear what you think & see YOU visualizing your dream life!

“You’re just gonna have to push through your resistance. Understand that it’s there because your brain is trying to protect you because it wants to keep you comfortable, but really you’ve got this fire in you.”

“If nothing was off limits, no ideas were ‘dumb,’ your lack of skill didn’t matter because you could learn how to do anything, what would your ideal career path be?”

“Sometimes we feel stuck, because we’re in this grinding it out stage, we’re trying to push ourselves through… but what if you thought about how good it could be.”

“The idea of how epic our future could be, can be the catalyst for making us change. For taking us from feeling stuck to thriving.”

Let's get our HAPPY ON! TIPS for more everyday JOY!

In this episode:

  • Daily habits to create more happiness

  • Taking inventory of what brings you joy

  • Questions to help identify your baseline

  • Doing your best to be what you want to see

I am a huge believer that if we are not very intentional about going through our days looking for ways to generate more joy & happiness, we might be going down a really slippery slope or a path that could end up with us looking back wondering, how the heck did I get here.

& not the good kind of how did I get here, but the ‘ugh, why the heck is my life so unfulfilled’ kind.

So what’s required to build a happy & fulfilling life?

I think happiness in your days & intentional small consistent deposits DAILY is the secret sauce.

We all know you don’t just “arrive” at happy, or confident, or fit, or whatever, but it’s those little things that would be easy to do but also not to do that you are going to choose TO do because those things are what compound over time & create the life you love.

I love this topic & just know it will be so impactful for you!

Can’t wait to hear what you think girl!

“The same rules apply for happiness and joy, we have to intentionally create it which means we’ve got to be constantly looking for things that we can control… that are going to make us happier human beings.”

“We’ve gotta take that finger that we wanna point at someone else, we’ve gotta flip it back around & point it at ourselves & say, what can I own here?”

“How would the most grateful version of me, who understands that today is a freaking gift that some people are not blessed with, show up to today to make it count.”

“All that we are guaranteed is the moment right in front of us, the day that we are gifted which is today. We have to make today count.”

101: BONUS! Are you in Network Marketing? If so, PLAY this to GROW YOUR BIZ GIRL!

If so—I think you will LOVE this BONUS EPISODE as a resource to GROW YOUR Network Marketing business, and to share with your teams!

I’m calling it a “BONUS EPISODE” because its not in line with the personal development/ taking PURPOSE driven ACTION Theme of the podcast for our episodes released every Monday & Thursday.

BUT… this podcast is to SERVE YOU and I have had SO many of you reach out to me on Instagram, asking for a podcast about Network Marketing so I wanted to share some tips from my experience having been in Network Marketing since 2014.

I wasn’t someone in a back against the wall situation that had to make this work, I started it as a side hustle alongside a job I actually loved.

I fell in love with the business model straight out the gates treated this like a business, building it before & after work and then I actually left the corporate world in April of 2015 to run with it full time.

Since then I have spoken on a lot of Beachbody stages, done TONS of trainings to the network of what Beachbody calls “Coaches” , earned well over 7 figures with this business and helped lots of women to build their business too.

I love Network marketing for a lot of reasons, but this episode is not going to be ABOUT network marketing or talk about pros/cons of it, or why you should or shouldn’t do it but more so going to be directed AT someone who is CURRENTLY in Network marketing (any company) who wants to GROW their Network Marketing Business.

Because I know I have a lot of Network Marketers I’m connected with outside of just Beachbody, my tips are going to be very tangible for ANY Network Marketer- not specifically for Beachbody Coaches.

I could go ON & ON about training for Network Marketers because I’ve done this for almost 6 years but today Im going to make this a quick hit with 5 TIPS!!

Let's RIP the BANDAID & GET after it GIRL! It's EPISODE 100!!!!!

In this episode:

  • Acknowledging the things you have accomplished

  • Audit your list of things you actually need to do

  • Being clear about the support that you want

  • Deciding to use comparison to serve you

You guys, this is INCREDIBLE & I am so grateful that you are here TODAY for this special episode.

We are here to celebrate of course, but also, dive into a topic that is one of my FAVES and one of the main reasons I even started this podcast to begin with!

Because one day, I just decided I was going to start a podcast, before I had any clue what I was doing, but I had that gut feeling that I wanted to.

And now look where we are & look at the number of lives that have been impacted.

So first & foremost, THANK YOU for being here & for helping to spread the word.

Now let’s get to the juicy part and breakdown 5 steps to get out of your own damn way to do that thing that’s on your heart.

Forever grateful for your support & I can’t wait to hear what you think of today’s episode and how it helps YOU get out of your own way & do the damn thing.

“Eliminate the phrase, ‘I can’t do that,” and instead, try subbing in “I don’t care about doing that, & I don’t want to put the effort in to make it a priority, so I’m choosing not to do it.’ Sit with that for a second.”

“Girl, you’re not too busy. Say no to the plans that don’t feel like a ‘hell yes’ & give yourself a second to think without interruptions about your fricken life!”

“Rip the bandaid, do one tiny thing and just go.”

“We have a choice. We can choose to stay stuck, and stay fearful. Or we can look at all of the reasons why we can.”

In this episode:

  • Separating feelings from facts

  • Why you should stop avoiding the hard stuff

  • Talking about the struggles you experience

  • Showing up more to life like yourself

Imposter syndrome. Maybe you’ve just heard the term, or you know all about it, maybe you have no clue what I’m talking about. Regardless, this is such an important topic and I am so grateful you are here today for it! I first want to breakdown what imposter syndrome actually is, how it might be holding you back & how you can identify what you’re own version of it might be. Then of course I am breaking down 5 tangible tips to navigate it if you’re feeling it yourself or if someone close to you is. Imposter syndrome is basically the experience of feeling like a phony or a fraud, it’s that whole “who does she think she is,” thought pattern but often we’re saying it in our own heads to ourselves. When you’re stuck in this imposter syndrome mindset, you forget to give yourself credit for the work you did to get here & why you are the reason you are successful. I really believe this is something we ALL struggle with in one way or another at some point in our lives & it manifests in totally different ways but it always holds us back. I can’t wait for you to dive into this episode & let me know what you think!

“It’s so hard to work on something that you haven’t identified as a problem or that you can’t see. So the first step has got to be catching the thoughts that we might be thinking.”

“Hey, I’m new so of course I’m gonna struggle a little bit. But I’ve navigated things in the past, I can do this.”

“Stop avoiding the things that are actually gonna move you forward, those tiny little things that are so easy to do but also so easy not to do, are crucial.”

“We have to have more open conversations in our society about feelings like this that are totally normal so that people don’t feel alone. We cannot have people feeling alone in our society.”

“This is my gift, this is my message, for my own growth, I have to say this and if people like it great, if people judge it great, I don’t care because it’s really about me expressing my truth.”

“Emotion, that energy in motion, is often a natural response to something that happens.”

“You are effing with divine timing when you have your own timeline. And when you eff with divine timing, you will make decisions more from the place of control & your mind, and not from your gut and your heart.”

“If you want to accelerate your life, do personal growth work.”

In this episode:

  • Getting good at complimenting yourself

  • Making frequent confidence bucket deposits

  • Choosing things that challenge you

  • Consistently upgrading your thoughts

Hey girl! I am so pumped you are here today because this episode is so IMPORTANT!

This episode was sparked by something that I find really interesting, but also really heartbreaking, which is that we as women find it so difficult to compliment ourselves.

We can rattle off our flaws without a second thought, but too often when we are asked about our strengths & what we LOVE about ourselves, we struggle to point those out.

Confidence is often portrayed as this thing someone is just born with, like a natural trait some people have, when in reality confidence is LEARNED.

This is such an important topic & today I really wanted to dive into a few ways that have helped me personally to build self-confidence. I know you are going to love this one & hope you share it with someone who could get something out of it too!

“Confidence builds from honoring the promises that you make to yourself.”

“I think it’s really difficult to feel low confidence or just to feel low or sad if you’re helping someone else build their confidence or build their happiness.”

“If you are doing your best, that is always enough. And then, when you know better you do better… beating yourself up is not going to build confidence.”

“There is a future more confident version of you who is so damn proud of you right now for the work that you’re putting in to just keep getting better.”

GIRL! You are not STUCK: You are MID-CONQUER!

In this episode:

  • Having more fun & trying new things

  • Being careful about who/what you’re following

  • Identifying what is triggering you

  • Looking for problems you can fix

Oh girrrl, I am so excited that you’re here today and I really think this topic is going to be impactful because we are talking about some tangible ways to get UN-STUCK!

This topic actually stemmed from a conversation with a girl on Instagram where she explained how she felt so stuck & felt stupid for wanting more while also struggling to figure out what she really wants. I was so able to connect with how she’s feeling because I was her back in 2014, and maybe you can connect with this message too.

So today I really wanted to share what I told her and also to just remind you, you’re gonna be okay & even in this season, it’s still going to serve you & there will be a future version of you who looks back and is so freaking proud of you.

You’re not alone girl, and I can’t wait to hear how these tips serve you too!

“You will feel “stuck” from time to time, that’s what growth feels like, it doesn’t always feel good. But the human experience requires contrast which means the highs and the lows.”

“Girl, you’re not stuck. You’re mid-conquer of figuring this out. Keep pushing through, don’t give up.”

“Sometimes we get so focused on the end goal of where we want to be, that we forget that there’s a lot of power in just picking one thing that’s bugging us & solving it.”

“If we’re intentional about our environment we’re more likely to show up and we’re not gonna feel alone when we’re creating an environment that’s serving us.”

The PERMISSION SLIP you need to give YOURSELF!

In this episode:

  • Allowing yourself to really want that thing

  • Being okay with sucking a little at first

  • Trying something without expectations

  • Ripping the bandaid & going after it

Girl, buckle up, because today we have a juicy topic! We are talking about giving ourselves PERMISSION.

For us to stay after our goals & stay committed to our personal growth, even when things get hard or we get curveballs, in order to make that progress & become the badass women we want to be, it often doesn’t matter what tangible things we know we need to do to take action if we have not given ourselves permission to actually do the damn thing.

So while of course I want to give you some tangible tips & takeaways today, I really wanted to dive into three specific areas that you might want to think about giving yourself a permission slip in if you haven’t already. I just know this is going to hit home with you & of course I can’t wait to hear what you think!

“We have a unique opportunity to inspire those people that we really love by us viciously chasing our goals.”

“If you’re honest, you know if you call your shot it’s gonna be a lot of work to back it up. So you don’t truly give yourself permission to want it.”

“You’ve decided that you feel weird, or guilty, or awkward complaining that you want more fulfillment in your life so you rationalize yourself out of taking action.”

“Ready never happens and perfect is boring and overrated.”

This topic is EPIC & I just KNOW it’s going to resonate with you! Judi gives this really cool perspective after having a lengthy career in the corporate world to making all of these pivots to get where she is today.

In this episode we are deep diving into her book & talking all about FEAR. She gives a lot of really tangible tools that you can use to get out of your own damn way which I just KNOW you will vibe with!

We are getting excited about our lives & using fear as a tool to help us get where we want to go. There are SO many little takeaways & pay attention for a fun little giveaway that we are doing for 5 listeners to tag us on IG! Can’t wait to hear what you think!!

“You are braver than you can even imagine, no one does it your way and the only way you will make anything happen for yourself, your family, or your business, is to experiment with your fear every single day, on purpose.”

  • Unstoppable by SIA

  • Nonstop by Drake

“We are so afraid of failing… it’s about how are you showing up & are you moving forward.”

“Why are we trying to waste our beautiful precious energy trying to outrun something that we’ll never be able to outrun.”

“What we can always control is how we show up and how we react. And I believe it’s our guts and our courage and our bravery that really determines our destiny.”

“The goal shouldn’t be fearless. The goal should be figuring out how to fear our fear less and this is what makes you brave.”

“We worry about what could go wrong, we worry about all the mistakes we could make. But there’s so much more power of leaning into the idea of what could go right.”

Let's talk IDENTITY: Who do you REALLY want to be?

In this episode:

  • Choosing characteristics you want to embody

  • Identifying what you need to believe to be true

  • Tapping into the alter ego of who you want to be

  • How to “act as if” you are the person you envision

Today we are talking about that feeling you get when you’re in the weird space between who you are now & who you want to be!

We can really label that space anything we want, but sometimes it feels really hot mess express or overwhelming or daunting.

And sometimes you’ve just got a lot of doubt or you’re just not sure what to actually do to take action even though in your GUT you know you want to make some freaking moves!

I don’t want to tell you that I have it all figured out, but as I am starting to figure things out I want to share anything that I can learn on this journey so I today I wanted to give you a few simple ways to start making moves!!

I hope you find this helpful & I can’t wait to hear what you think!

“You can control what you want and how much work you’re gonna put in… it doesn’t matter where you’ve been it just matters where you want to go.”

“Your actions are going to protect the identity of who you believe that you are.”

“Sometimes it’s so helpful to think outside of yourself to repeat that behavior and those actions over & over again so you can really instill it into the belief of who you are as a person.”

“Over time you consistently repeat that loop over & over again, one characteristic at a time and you legit build yourself into this badass human that you wanna be.”

“What is that thing that is highlighting for you, oh I’m lacking that. And when we can point that finger back at ourselves, then we can say, ‘hey, actually I’m not jealous of my friend I’m actually really happy for her.’”

“Just like you wouldn’t marry someone that’s not a good fit for you, don’t maintain that friendship if you’re not feeling like it’s going down a path of fulfillment.”

“You have to know what you’re looking for out of that friendship & then communicate that and give them the choice, do they want to be that person or what type of person can they be in the friendship.”

“Remember, we’re the only ones living our lives… but we’re gonna get the reaction based on whatever story we’re telling. So if you want a different reaction, you better tell a different story.”

So let’s take some action & implement some new tools into our routine to help prevent & manage that overwhelm with it inevitably hits.

“The longer that I wait to start and I sit in this analysis paralysis, the crazier the story that my brain creates gets.”

  • Acknowledging that growth doesn’t always feel good

  • Sharing your SFD with someone you trust

  • Reframing the thoughts you have towards growth

  • Being intentional about your word choice

Today we are talking about GROWTH, and how that growth doesn’t always feel good, right?

I know personally, I have found that sometimes when I’m growing & it doesn't feel good by brain tries to protect me from potential pain or failure & convince me that I shouldn’t be moving in that direction.

I’ve learned to be very intentional about catching when my brain is trying to pull that BS on me so I wanted to deep dive into this topic of growth and the feelings that are associated with it.

I know it can be super tough to navigate sometimes, so I want to share with you 3 things that are helping me work through this season of growing.

Of course I just hope this resonates with you & am so excited to hear what you think!

“Growing means leaving the comfort of the familiar which you already know how to navigate… but it’s scary because you don’t know what’s coming when you’re stepping outside of that comfort familiar zone.”

“Is the story that I’m telling myself serving me? Are the words that I’m using to describe how I’m feeling serving me?”

“I’m not choosing to use the word overwhelmed, I’m choosing to acknowledge that I’m growing and that’s a freaking gift and I’ve got so many options.”

  • Get picky on whose feedback you take to heart

Today, we are talking about PRIORITIES & what its actually going to look and feel like to chart your own path and I am SO excited that you’re here because this is SO freaking important!

This topic came to me based on a post I did recently that got so much feedback about how Seena & I decided to cancel our wedding venue. So I wanted to talk more about it & share some of the things that I have learned through this experience.

I hope this hits home for you girl & I’m excited to hear what you think!

“When you know what your priorities are and that the choices that you’re making or the things that you’re adding are gonna impact your list, it makes it so much easier.”

“If more of us are doing the things that we want to be doing, the things that we feel called to do, even if they don’t make sense to everyone, we’re gonna be happier humans.”

“Explain your choices to the people who deserve to hear your story & only take advice from those who you deem qualified to give you advice.”

“It is totally fine to change your mind. There are no rules to life, and damn does it feel so freaking good to pave your own path.”

“If you don’t believe that something is possible. If you don’t believe you deserve it. If you don’t believe you’re enough. You’re not an idiot. You’re not gonna do anything about it.”

“You can do hard things. You’ve done harder things than this. You’ve survived so much.”

“When I look at people that are that talented, the very first thing that I think? How courageous is this person, because I have no doubt that there was so much mediocrity that they allowed themselves to push through.”

Now... in this episode:

  • Finding joy on the roller coaster of life

  • Tools for becoming more self-aware

  • Evaluating your circle of influence

  • Creating boundaries vs balance

Girl, I am so happy you are here today because we are talking about JOY RIDES which is so FUN!

I know sometimes joy ride can mean like stealing a car, but what I really want to talk about is a joyful ride through life.

& I’m not talking about cruising down the highway blasting tunes, I’m talking about a RIDE like a roller coaster which means there are ups & downs, there’s things that are unpredictable & curveballs that are coming or times that you are jolted or even want to pee a little!

What I really want is for you to find joy in the PROCESS of being on this ride of life despite the ups & downs, so I’m coming at you with 3 components that have really helped me find a lot more joy in my ride through life.

I think these are really going to hit home with you & be super impactful so I can’t wait to hear what you think!

“The better that we know ourselves, the less frustrated that we get when we fumble because we can give ourselves more grace and more compassion because we love ourselves more.”

“Honestly just sitting down & taking some time to identify what makes us happy helps us get more self aware, and then when we’re more self-aware we can actually take action.”

“We’ve gotta be intentional about noticing who’s ideas we are infusing into us, because if you’re around negative people you’re gonna have to navigate negativity.”

“It is our job to make our ride through life more joy-filled. It’s our job to believe in ourselves, not anybody else's.”

All About Labels: Let's get EXCITED about your GOALS!

In this episode:

  • Labeling the emotion that's tied to a physiological response

  • The space between where you are & where you want to be

  • Mislabeling stages of life

  • Fear vs Excitement

I am so excited you are here today because we are talking about a topic that has been SO freaking powerful in my life & I think it will be in yours too!

We’re talking about getting really dang good at labeling the emotion when your body has a physical response and labeling the space between where you are now and where you want to go, and creating those labels that serve you. I’ve found that when I label something, whether its an emotion or a space in my life, with something positive it makes me happy & pumped to chase after my goals.

But when I label either of those with something that doesn’t serve me, I often feel confused or like a hot mess express, which is not going to help me chase my goals.

Today I want to chat about why I think it’s so important to just get really comfortable with this art of labeling. I hope you really get something out of this & I can’t wait to hear what you think!

“The ironic thing about those two things, fear & excitement, is that they feel the same physiologically in our body.”

“We have to remind ourselves that our thoughts create our emotions, our labels create our emotions, which drive our actions in our life.”

“Every opportunity that I get, I’m going to choose a label & an emotion that feels better in my body because I want to have an enjoyable life. And you get the same choice.”

“When we feel that physical response in our body, let’s choose excitement instead of fear.”

In this episode:

  • Creating your own vision of success

  • The power of self-awareness

  • Finding clarity through action

  • Embracing that life is rigged in your favor

& because I ALWAYS think of you like a girlfriend sitting across from me sippin on spicy margaritas I wanna dive right into this content all around what I thought “success” by 30 would look like, and how I define success differently now.

Maybe you are 30, or almost 30 or maybe even about to hit a different milestone and you have these feelings of where you SHOULD be, what you SHOULD have or accomplished by now, and the fact that you haven’t feels like you’re behind or doing something wrong.

Spoiler alert! You’re not behind & you are NOT doing anything wrong.

Today I just wanted to share what I have learned since turning 30 while living a life I LOVE that is nowhere near what I THOUGHT it would be at thirty years old. And of course give you a couple of TANGIBLE tips that I think will hit home with you.

I can’t wait to hear what you think, and make sure you check out the intro for a fun giveaway opportunity too!!

“Do I actually want those things, like in my heart, is that what I want. Or is it what society has constructed me to want at a certain age.”

“You learning along the way and sharing that journey will help make you confident & it will also inspire other people to put themselves out there too.”

“Sometimes, in a world where you want to make change it helps you with that direction part when you find & pay attention to the things that bother you.”

“Life is in fact rigged in your favor and is going to help prepare you for your next chapter so that you’ve got more tools in your tool box.”

Are you QUITTING because you're SCARED to FAIL?

In this episode:

  • Avoiding decision fatigue

  • Getting accountability for your goals

  • Tips for mapping out a game plan

  • Adopting more habits that serve you

I am SO excited you are here today girl, because this topic is a JUICY one that I know is going to be SO impactful.

I was actually listening to Dave Hollis talking about his worry while training for a marathon & how he had this internal dialog that he kept telling himself, if he didn’t train for the marathon he would have a ‘get out of jail free’ card when it didn’t work out & he didn’t complete it.

He was basically saying that his OLD MINDSET at one point was that it feels better to just quit than to try & fail.

His new mindset is different but I think we do this a LOT when it comes to our own goals don't we?

So today I want to talk about a couple of tangible tips that could help you in a really impactful way to stop QUITTING just because you are scared to fail.

I really hope this resonates with you & helps you break through your mindset and KEEP or start CRUSHING IT girl, because you deserve that.

Can’t wait to hear what you think!!

“It is on you if you don’t get where you wanna go because you don’t take the time to self-reflect and figure out why it is that you keep quitting because you’re so damn afraid of failing.”

“Are you pretending that you don’t care about the goal, but deep down you do? And is it maybe because you’re scared of failure?”

“Are you quitting because sometimes it’s easier than trying and failing?”

“I deeply want to be the girl that does the thing that she says she’s gonna do after the feeling that she said it in is gone because I want to be that person that shows up for people.”

Is it REALLY about HER? Let's talk about "Victim Mentality"

In this episode:

  • Your feelings are always your choice

  • Evaluating the validity of a comment

  • Refusing to accept the victim mentality

  • Learning to create stories that serve you

I can’t wait to get into the juice of this topic because I just feel like it has the potential to make a massive impact! Today we’re talking about how nobody can make you feel a certain way, without your permission. There are so many times when we can find ourselves letting someone else’s actions or words affect our own personal feelings, and that can be a big problem. Because often it’s those tiny little seemingly insignificant comments that add up over time into conditional statements, either about someone else or even ourselves. So today, I wanted to talk about three little tweaks you can make in your own personal mindset to start choosing the way you feel towards your environment & the people around you. Thank you for being here with me & I can’t wait to hear what you think girl!

“If your intentions are pure and you’re confident in who you are, when someone is saying something about you that is legitimately not true, it is understandable to be frustrated… but you don’t have to choose, because yes that’s a choice, to take it to heart.”

“We have a choice to commit as often as we can, to refusing the victim mentality and instead taking some damn ownership.”

“We can’t punish ourselves for not being in the mindset that we want to be at, but we can acknowledge it so that we can actually do something about it.”

Celebrate the SUCK & Put yourself out there!

Hey girl, QQ- have you joined our email list yet? If not: Subscribe now lots of good stuff coming :)

Now in this Episode:

  • Being willing to suck at first

  • Pay attention to the advice you give yourself

  • Building confidence through feedback

  • Putting yourself out there to LEARN

Everybody SUCKS at the beginning.

Right? That may have caught you off guard, but it is SO TRUE! Honestly, I think we forget that most of the time when we start something new, we really SUCK.

But if you think about it, that's actually a GOOD thing, because it's how we learn & grow and ultimately get better.

So today I really wanted to give you two simple and tangible rules that you can apply to help change your mindset around “sucking” at something new and embracing that it’s just a part of the whole process!

I hope this helps girl & I can't wait to hear what you think!

“That type of concept of putting yourself out there, being willing to suck & then just learn as you go is so powerful.”

“What about, if we decided that we will not give ourselves advice that we wouldn’t say out loud to our best friend, or our daughter, when she was chasing a big goal.”

“We have to suck or we literally cannot get better. We can’t improve.”

“How can we actually get feedback or get better if we’re never NEW at something?”

“Even if you suck at first, you’re putting yourself out there. Sucking is on the path towards not sucking anymore!”

Broke Millennial: Get your Financial life together- Interview with Erin Lowry

In this episode:

  • Identifying your personal money story

  • Tactics for paying off your debt

  • Psychology behind how you think about money

  • Getting the financial accountability you need

Erin Lowry is the author of Broke Millennial: Stop Scraping By and Get Your Financial Life Together, a personal finance book based on her blog of the same name. Erin founded Broke Millennial in 2013 to fill a gap in how the finance industry talked to her peers. Coming from a financially literate household, Lowry was surprised by how few millennials were comfortable discussing money, and how few content platforms catered to their specific circumstances. Since starting Broke Millennial Erin has been featured in news outlets like CNBC, The New York Times, USA Today, Forbes, and many others.

I’m SO excited for you to hear from Erin Lowry today, who is a millennial personal finance expert, author & speaker! I have heard from a lot of you that the topic of finance & money mindset is important to you and I really think she has SO much value to add! She knows her stuff & I love how refreshing her content is and how she takes this really complex jargon of finances and makes it very SIMPLE, but also talks about this in a way that really hits home. We talk about money mindset, and different studies about the psychology behind how we think about money & she even gives some tips and resources for getting out of debt. I can’t wait to hear what you think!!

  • Anything by Lizzo!

  • Sallie Mae Back by Dee-1

“I often look back on my early twenties as a time where I failed to invest in relationships because I was so focused on making money.”

“Studies have shown, by the ages of between 8 and 10, we’ve really kind of coded our relationship with money based on what we’re raised around.”

“Whatever the reason, we are looking at the numbers, it happened, let’s forgive ourselves & move the eff on.”

“My money mantra is very simple, either you control money or money controls you. And my goal is just to make sure that you’re in control.”

The Balancing Act: EXCITED about the PROCESS & FOCUSED on the END GOAL

In this episode:

  • Understanding what motivates you

  • Finding joy in the process

  • Being excited about the end goal

  • Getting clear on where you’re going

I’m really excited about today’s topic & SO grateful you are here because I think it’s going to be really impactful. We are talking about two ways to get ourselves moving to take action to chase those big dreams, or even just those little day to day goals too. This idea was actually sparked by a conversation with my fiance Seena about how we each get ourselves motivated & stay motivated in drastically different ways. We often think that its the PLAN towards a goal that matters, when in reality it’s normally one of two things: its either our ability to get ourselves excited about the plan or its our ability to get excited about what the plan could produce that makes us want to stay the course. Everyone is motivated in different ways, but it’s important for EVERYONE to be able to both find joy in the process but also having focus on the end goal. I can’t wait to hear what you think about this episode girl, I just know you’re going to love it!

“You can be the happiest person ever and very joyful, but if you’re running around like a drunk squirrel, you’re not going to achieve your goals because you aren’t focused on where you’re going.”

“What were those things that you wanted to do before someone told you that you couldn’t? Or before you were worried about what other people thought about you?”

“If you don’t know where you’re going, you’re never going to get there.”

“Remember, that the people out there that are crushing their goals, they aren’t like magical unicorns, they’re just creating better environments around them physically and in their head.”

“You can intentionally focus on how to love the process and get crystal clear on the goal that you’re trying to work towards.”

Three BS stories that might be HOLDING YOU BACK

In this Episode:

  • Getting more skin in the game on our dreams

  • Wanting more does is not selfish

  • Building your confidence through consistency

  • Letting yourself dream & visualize winning

Girl, do we have a juicy episode for you today.

We are talkin about, what’s it gonna take to show up for our dreams - SUCH an important topic, am I right?

It’s so common in our culture to work so hard on our “day jobs” or for someone else’s dreams & goals, but struggle to show up for our OWN dreams & goals.

If we don’t show up for our JOB, we will get FIRED, right?

But in our own goals, nobody’s gonna fire us if we don’t show up. We are not replaceable in our own dreams, which is why we’ve got to get some skin in the game & show up because no one else is gonna hold us accountable to them.

So today we’re talking about three BS stories that we need to just get out of the way and then two ways I think will help us more deeply commit to our dreams.

I am so excited to hear what you think of this one girl!

“You’re not replaceable in your own dreams. So we’ve gotta get more skin in the game to show up for your dreams.”

“If it’s in you, and you want more, it’s selfish actually if you don’t go get it, because someone needs you to show up to life living your best life which inspires them to show up living their best life.”

“You know that you can do it, but for some reason you’ve decided that your ambition is gonna make someone else uncomfortable.”

“Stretch yourself, go a little bigger with your vision, that vision of what could happen even if it sounds crazy… Let yourself dream again.”

Are you COMMITTED? Or just "INTERESTED" in your goals

In this episode:

  • Calling your shot & getting support

  • The secret sauce to consistency & confidence

  • Monitoring the language around your goals

  • Put your blinders on & get to work

I’m so excited you’re here today for this short little GUT CHECK episode where we are tackling the super simple question: are you INTERESTED in achieving your goals or are you COMMITTED to achieving your goals? I’m excited to dive a little deeper into this, give it a little more juiciness & context. Give it more OOMPH that will get us pumped up so that we can do that thing that’s burning up inside of us. And of course because I am all about tangible ACTION steps, today I am breaking down 5 things that I really think will help push you into COMMITMENT vs just staying “interested” in your goals. I hope you find this impactful and will tag me on IG with your takeaways, can’t wait to hear from you girl!

“If we’re only interested in a goal we only show up when it’s convenient, or we only share our ideas or we share our passion or excitement towards the goal, when we don’t think it’s gonna bother or inconvenience someone else.”

“But the problem that comes in, is when we say that we’re committed but our behaviors match or act as if we’re merely interested.”

“If you’re able to call out & figure out what your main excuse is, then you’re going to be able to tackle it.”

“Monitor your language around your goals, are you saying IF or are you saying WHEN.”

“What would you have to believe about yourself to be true in order to achieve those goals?”

Getting OTHERS on board with your VISION or LIFESTYLE

In this episode:

  • Modeling behaviors that matter to you

  • Sharing your growth with your partner

  • Focusing on what YOU can actually control

  • Having a REAL conversation about your vision

What I want to talk about today, is getting your significant other (or really anyone in your life) on board. The questions I get nearly daily, are around how I “convinced” my fiance to workout with me, or how did I “make” him care more about his own personal growth journey like I do, and how did I get him on board with my vision for my business.. And in short, I STOPPED trying to convince or pull him, because that never worked anyways.

I’m not a relationship expert, but I have learned a lot going through this process myself and I wanted to share a few tips for navigating getting someone in your life on board that I have found to be helpful. I hope you find these tips impactful for ANY relationship in your life and I can’t wait to hear what you think!

“I knew for me personally, I wasn’t gonna marry someone or have a thriving relationship that I wanted, if he didn’t have his own growth mindset for himself because HE wanted it.”

“You are on a team. It’s you two versus your problems or your challenges wanting to grow together. You’re not versus each other.”

“It’s not fair to you nor is it fair to the people out there who are counting on you to show up as your most confident authentic self and do the things that you feel called to do.”

“You might be pleasantly surprised with someone who wants to support you if you tell them what supporting you looks like and what that would mean to you and why you need that.”

  • Middle Child by J. Cole

“I want to be the best version of myself, not just for me, but for the people that need me to be.”

“When you look at yourself and say, I am purpose, you literally can take your life into anything, any job, any position, anything, and allow your life to be used to better that situation.”

Mindset HACK for CHOOSING challenges that SERVE YOU

In this episode:

  • Navigating the negative side of a goal

  • Pain avoidance vs pleasure driven

  • Using problems to motivate us to take action

  • Choosing one challenge over another

Any goal or thing in life that we pursue, does have a negative side to it. Some people are motivated by pleasure and how good it COULD be, while others are more motivated by pain avoidance or how bad will it be if it doesn’t work out. Today I wanted to take a different direction with that pain avoidance mindset & talk about problems and challenges and how we can actually pick our problems or challenges to motivate us to take action. I really think this little trick is going to be really helpful for you and I am so excited to hear what you think!

“No matter what you're pushing towards, there are problems associated with anything.”

“More money, different problems. If you make more money you’re gonna have to navigate your thoughts about making more money.”

“Choosing the problems that you want over those alternative problems or challenges.”

“I bet you, its gonna feel really freaking good if you start celebrating and identifying that you chose the problems that you have and it’s worth it in the end.”

The Anchor Experience: Proving why YOU CAN

In this episode:

  • Breaking through the doubt cloud

  • Looking for evidence that you CAN

  • Choosing your own “hard”

  • Catching yourself in the moment of doubt

Our brain’s job is to protect us & keep us safe - it’s literally how we are wired - especially if you are ever pushing for a goal that you have previously been disappointed by. You know what I’m talking about, when your mind will actually simmer down your own excitement for something so that in case you miss the goal, the fall won’t be as hard. Well, it’s time to say BUH-BYE to that part of our brain because we’re not here to live a lukewarm life where we aren’t pushing for goals that scare us, am I right? I recently navigated this exact scenario in real time, very quickly, and I definitely wanted to share some insight into HOW I changed my mindset to STAY excited using what I call the ANCHOR experience.

“It’s never been the issue that you’re not capable, it’s been the issue that you haven’t managed your mindset.”

“We have to expect that the first time is the hardest because it’s the most unfamiliar, we’ve never been there.”

“That distance between where you are now and where you wanna go, that’s going to give you a powerful tool of resiliency.”

“At the end of this life, we are not going to be proud of the things that came handed to us on a silver platter that were easy, we don’t brag about the easy things. We are proud of ourselves for the things that we did when we didn’t think that we could.”

BUCKLE UP! You're on the right path girl!

In this episode:

  • Learning to enjoy the ride of life

  • Trusting your gut feeling

  • Honoring the path you’re on

  • Owning your self-discovery

Drunk squirrels having a rave in my head. That’s how it felt when I was in a season of feeling lost and stuck in my life. I was anxious about what was “supposed” to be next on my path and it was exhausting. I felt myself withdrawing and like I was honestly losing my ish a little, going down all these different paths of what I should be doing. That stage was SO necessary for me and as a byproduct of that stage, this podcast was born. Now that I am coming out of that stage and feeling a lot more secure with my path, I’m able to look back and see three really important lessons that I learned that I wanted to share with you just in case it could help you or someone in your life. I hope you get something amazing out of this & I can’t wait to hear from you!

“Sometimes, the things that we even think could be good, will be better than we ever imagined. The things that could go wrong won’t, or they will go way more wrong than we ever thought. So what about if we just buckle up.”

“That’s the secret sauce. Is you being you, not you being what you think someone thinks that you should be.”

“If you’re doing you, not only can no one tell you that you’re doing it wrong, but you ARE living your purpose. Right now. Right here.”

Is that INNER CHATTER holding you back?

In this episode:

  • Managing the voice in your head

  • Identifying the real stories we tell ourselves

  • Disproving stories that don’t serve you

  • Upgrading your thoughts

Today we are talking about that little voice in your head and some tangible action steps for MASTERING what you are telling yourself.

We all have this dialog in our head, but if you think about it, would you want to be FRIENDS with that voice?

Would you like that girl and be proud of her?

If not, it’s time to change that voice.

We are all going to have those moments of doubt or judgy moments, but our happiness as people is because of our thoughts.

So how do we actually change those thoughts in our head? I wanted to share 5 things that I am doing to manage the dialog in my head to be a girl that I actually like.

I love this topic & I can’t wait to hear what you get out of this episode!

“Everything that we do is gonna start from what we think about how we do those things.”

“Is the story that I’m telling myself, actually serving me? Or is it through the lense of an older version of me?”

“Whatever you’re looking for you’re gonna find girl, so let’s find the things that are serving us.”

“You can do anything that you set your mind to, but you’ve gotta get your mind right so you stay with it.”

Oh SH*T you "FAILED"; Let's get back UP!

In this episode:

  • Reframing your fear of failure

  • Expecting to failing more

  • Getting back up quicker

  • Growing through what you go through

In today’s episode I’m talking about a quick mindset hack on failure because what I want most is to give you content that will change your LIFE.

I hear a lot from you guys about the FEAR of failure, and I wanted to offer a little reframe on this idea that I think will be really helpful for you and is something you can implement ASAP to change your mindset.

What if we DECIDE that we HAVE to fail because we have to grow through what we go through to become the best version of ourselves? What if we decided that failure was a NECESSARY part of the path towards success?

And while I think fundamentally, we can get onboard with the idea, but I want to engrain this idea with something TANGIBLE I am calling the 24 hour trigger.

I know this is going to help you change your mindset & I can’t wait to hear what you think girl!

“We have to faceplant, because the actual goal in our life is to learn to be more resilient. To grow through what we go through.”

“What if success wasn’t actually the opposite of failure, but it was a necessary part of the path toward success, you HAD to fail.”

“The difference between successful people crushing their goals, even when they’re failing, and people who aren’t seeing success, is how long they let themselves stay down. Successful people just get back up faster.”

Think BIGGER. Live BIGGER. It's time to LEVEL UP.

In this Episode:

  • Taking inventory on the people around you

  • Deciding where you want to level up in your life

  • Expanding your inner circle

  • Growing into the person you’re meant to be

At a conference I attended recently, I heard a quote from speaker Trent Shelton, “if you don’t have friends who clap when you win, you don’t have a circle, you have a cage.”

Wow, talk about a MIC DROP. Because truthfully, that is SUCH a powerful statement, and it got me thinking about how as much as society likes to focus on the people who naysay or the haters, we also have to realize that if we’re spending our time with people who ONLY clap for you, you’re also not going to GROW.

In today’s episode I wanted to share 3 simple & tangible tips for finding that balance between people who clap for us but give us feedback or inspire us and also people that don’t get us so that we can learn & build up our confidence.

I really think this is going to resonate with you & I can’t wait to hear what you think girl!

“If you wanna uplevel in any part of your life, it's really important to be intentional about those people that are around you constantly who are really damn comfortable being comfortable.”

“You might need someone who’s doing more than you in an area in your life that you want to excel more at.”

“It’s difficult to BE what you can’t SEE.”

“Your physical environment is hugely impactful on how you show up in this world.”

“You owe it to yourself to think bigger, to live bigger. To live a life that you are so freaking obsessed with and you owe it to the people who are going to be inspired by watching you.”

In this episode:

  • Building internal belief & crushing doubt

  • Getting REAL with your why

  • Being your own cheerleader

  • Understanding the magnitude of your path

I feel like I’m on a train to F Ya-Ville and I am so pumped to share with you WHY I am feeling really excited because I know it will resonate with so many of you whether you are IN that mode currently & ready to level up, OR you’re feeling down and could use these tools to help you get more excited.

I want you to be EXCITED & pumped about your life, so today I am breaking down 5 little tips I hope will be super valuable for you and give you some of this PUMPED UP F YES mojo!

I can’t wait to hear what you think & how EXCITED you are about your LIFE!

“We have to be our own biggest cheerleaders, it’s our JOB to believe in ourselves.”

“So often we don’t begin anything, even if it’s small, because we think that we don’t know how, or we’re waiting until it’s perfect.”

“Having belief, plus expectancy, plus a strong reason why we’re doing something, is what gets us on this train to F-ya-ville!”

“Starting before we’re ready is how we build up that belief in ourselves because belief & confidence is like a muscle… the more that we show up, especially those times that we don’t think that we can, the more confidence that we build.”

“Failure gives you feedback so you can approach things differently.”

Trusting the TIMING of YOUR LIFE

In this Episode:

  • Whose rules are you playing by?

  • Resources for kicking comparison

  • Does what you’re worrying about really matter?

  • Trust the timeline of your path

Girl, I am SO excited you are here today because today’s topic was sparked by the feeling of getting engaged after dating for a decade and some of the responses that I got about it.

I’ve heard from a lot of women about their anxiousness in regards to milestones in their life, whether it’s engagement, or wedding, or buying a house, or having kids and I just really wanted to talk about this topic because I want to give you some TANGIBLE action steps & mindset approaches that have worked for me.

In this short gut check style episode I am breaking down 3 components that I think you’re really going to vibe with!

Can’t wait to hear what you think!

“Am I building a life that I want? Or what society is telling me I SHOULD want?”

“When you know what you actually want, you find that you’re not as anxious about what other people are telling you to do.”

“If you’re letting someone else’s opinion of your timeline dictate what you’re doing with your life, you’re going to end up with a crap ton of resentment towards them.”

“WHY matters so much more than WHAT.”

“You don’t get a prize for getting to a milestone faster.”

Simple MINDSET tweak to LEVEL UP your LIFE

In this episode:

  • Retraining your brain to build belief

  • Surrounding yourself with people of a higher ‘temp’

  • Busting through your comfort zone to level up

  • Using self-confirming bias to serve you

I am SO excited today to share with you a concept that I learned from Ed Mylett who is straight FIRE & has been an incredible mentor to me from afar.

The principle is that you see things as you are in regards to your internal thermostat instead of what is externally affecting you. The majority of people believe that their life is dictated by EXTERNAL factors, but it’s really about who we think we are & our own identity.

Because wouldn’t it suck if your entire life was dictated by things completely out of your control?

Ed’s concept is that your IDENTITY is your THERMOSTAT.

Today I wanted to give you a few tangible tips for ways to RAISE your internal thermostat & in turn LEVEL UP your entire life. I know that this concept has been really meaningful for me & I think you’re really gonna LOVE it too!

“Happiness is an inside job. So make sure that you’re not putting the keys to your happiness in other people’s pockets.”

“Most people think that their life is dictated by external circumstances, things that they can’t control, but in reality it’s so much more about who we think we are & how we identify.”

“As you learn more, make sure that you’re consciously… asking yourself, am I adjusting my thermostat of my identity?”

“It’s really important to just recognize, that as you change and up level in different aspects of your life, that your identity has to evolve with it.”

“What we look for, we’re gonna find.”

“The stories that we’re telling ourselves need to serve us.”

“Rather than looking for the ways that we feel like we’re dropping the ball, it’s important when we’re in a state that we’re not in a good head space, that we look for the things that we’re doing right as we’re making progress.”

The TOUGH Stuff: How to GROW through what you GO through

In this episode:

  • Letting yourself FEEL it

  • Knowing when to ask for help

  • Figuring out what you can LEARN

  • Choosing GRATITUDE in the hard times

It’s NOT always going to feel good.

Nope. Even from me, super optimistic & positive me, you know I’m gonna tell you how it is and the truth is sometimes its going to be crappy.

Building a business, chasing our dreams, having people that don’t get it, showing up to our everyday life, to our relationships, to trying to GROW as humans - that stuff is MESSY & it doesn’t always feel good.

Fundamentally I think we all know that it doesn’t always feel good, but sometimes we doubt ourselves & spiral to this really dark negative place. We’ve all been there, haven’t we?

BUT, what we have to remember is that we don’t have to STAY there. We can CHOOSE to be grateful for what got us here & for every blessing in our lives.

Today I wanted to share a couple of tips that I have found helpful for pulling yourself OUT of that dark place & GROWING through what you are GOING through. I really hope this helps girl, because you can NOT be the only thing standing in your way, right?

“When I fall down, there is something that I am supposed to find when I am down.”

“As humans we do need that full contrast of emotions to have the full human experience while we’re here. Our one shot on this planet, we want to have the full experience.”

“The lows remind us how beautiful the highs are. They give us this amazing perspective on our strength, on our ability to push through, our resilience. That’s a muscle girl, we gotta build it.”

“Don’t rob someone else of the opportunity to help you.”

“Try your freakin best to look at this & say, what can this teach me? What can I learn here?”

  • Becoming aware of triggers in relationships

  • Growth & intimacy in relationships

Today’s episode is going to blow your mind girl and I am SO excited you are here because for the first time ever we are chatting with spouses & digging into communication & growth in relationships.

Rachel & Kyle Wright are the founders of the Wright Wellness Center and are on a mission to strengthen relationships, amp up intimacy & spark constructive conversations amongst couples.

As a previous guest on the podcast, Rachel brought SO much knowledge from her psychotherapy background & I just KNEW having them on together would be incredibly impactful.

They give us tools for navigating communication & challenges, or when one partner wants to grow while they other isn’t on board, or how to have conversations that get us to the goal of being deeply understood and respected by our significant other.

Their dynamic together is so much fun & I know you are going to LOVE this one, can’t wait to hear what you think girl!

  • Defying Gravity from Wicked

  • Dark Saturday by Metric

“Before it even can be fun, we have to remove the shame. Because our culture has made it shameful to go do work on your relationship.” Rachel Wright

“I wanna learn how to be the best version of myself, and I wanna learn how we can be the best together, so that we can be together forever.” Rachel Wright

“One partner cannot bring a relationship to the next level, and you’re just gonna be an anchor on that so if you wanna be with that person, then if they’re gonna grow you better start planting yourself & get ready to grow too.” Kyle Wright

“You don’t have to have an answer. But going into the conversation, have clarity around what you do or don’t know.” Rachel Wright

In this episode:

  • Questions to ask when establishing boundaries

  • Taking full responsibility for your choices

  • Being intentional with your relationships

  • Different boundaries for different seasons

Girl, I am SO excited you are here today because we’re talking about a topic that recently I’ve gotten a lot of questions about, which is how do I “balance it all.”

Truth is, I’m NOT juggling it ALL, so let’s just kibosh that whole idea right now. I am happy & grateful, but I’m only juggling what I CHOOSE to juggle which means I’m really only paying attention to what I have put on my priority list myself. It’s really important that if you’re adding something new into your life right now that you’re just honest about how it’s going to be messy at first!

There’s no way to add something into an already full plate, so something will have to give. We have GOT to set boundaries, and those boundaries are going to change as the seasons of our life changes. So today, I am sharing with you a couple of questions that I ask myself to determine what my boundaries are in whatever season I am in. I hope these are helpful for YOU to set boundaries in your own life & of course I can’t wait to hear what you think!

“You’re feeling the call to wanna honor your priorities and create some boundaries because you need to do it, for your life and for the people around you that deserve the best version of you.”

“Maybe there’s an opportunity that you just don’t know how to say no yet, and that’s something that you want to get intentional about working on.”

“It’s not actually what’s going on or even the choices that we’re making at the end of the day, it’s how we feel about what’s going on.”

“I’m gonna make changes from this place of gratitude, where I am grateful for where I’m at now but I’m excited about where I’m going. And then I’m gonna set boundaries from there.”

“I believe that you should feel empowered to have a life outside of building a business or outside of your career, to have a full complete happy life that you love, even with big goals.”

Building CONFIDENCE as CONSUMERS on Acne Triggers & Navigating skin issues w/ the co-founders of Clearstem Skincare

In this episode:

  • What could be causing acne triggers

  • Ingredients to avoid in your skincare routine

  • Effects of stress & hormones on skin health

  • Understanding what to look for in products & why

Danielle and Kayleigh met when Kayleigh, a successful holistic nutritionist and health & wellness blogger, was dealing with Celiac reactions resulting in severe cystic acne and inflammation. She was working to heal internally but was looking for ways to treat her skin externally as well.

This led her to Danielle, the owner of the San Diego Acne Clinic. After working with Danielle and realizing that our skin absorbs 60% of what is placed on it (including harmful chemicals, cheap fillers and toxic acne triggering ingredients!), Kayleigh realized the true value of skincare and all the ingredients behind it.

After Danielle mentioned that she was beginning to develop her own skincare brand, Kayleigh immediately jumped on board. With her strong nutritional background, obsession for high-quality ingredients and passion for non-toxic, natural skin treatments, it was the perfect match.

I am SO excited for today’s episode because it’s a bit different of a topic, but I know it will provide such incredible value!

Clearstem founders Danielle & Kayleigh join us to chat all things skin health, acne triggers, stress & hormones, and share their very unique story of how they got to where they are today as owners of an incredibly successful skincare company.

They are huge advocates of helping consumers understand how the products we use & environmental issues can affect our skin and really just helping consumers feel knowledgeable to feel empowered to take action & make educated choices.

I’ve gotten a ton of DMs on instagram & questions about skin, so I am pumped to bring this episode to you today & I can’t wait to hear what you think!

“Business is the ability to solve problems while managing your stress.” Danielle

“Move fast, learn fast… trust your gut, analyze things, make a decision, move forward.” Danielle

“No one has it figured out going in… knowing that and being comfortable asking a million questions and not feeling inferior for asking questions.” Kayleigh

Maybe you should LET IT GO?

In this episode:

  • Letting go of those “should” expectations

  • Giving people grace & taking them off a pedestal

  • Choosing to assume the best in people

  • Loving others wherever they are at

I am SO excited you are here today, it’s a little bit of a curveball in that I’ve never talked about this in this way, BUT I really think it’s going to be impactful. We’re talking about letting “it” go.

& what I’m talking about, is the view of our relationship with our parents and how they “should” act as parents.

Sometimes, it’s not that we JUST need to take action, but that we actually need to look at things through a different lens, and honestly that tiny little reframe can really help us in an impactful way to start making moves right?

I am really excited to share a few tips with you today & I cannot wait to hear what you think girl!!

“Anyone that you’re thinking about that ‘should’ act in a certain way, where is that coming from?”

“Why not just assume the best in people, it feels better. When we’re holding on to grudges or resistance or negativity, that’s not serving anyone and it doesn’t physically feel good in our body.”

“We can choose to love them, and do the only thing that we can do: control ourselves.”

“What our choice to do is? Is to own what we CAN control, which is our thoughts about these people.”

Navigating what you REALLY want & HOW to get there with Libby Crow

In this episode:

  • Feminine vs Masculine energies in goal setting

  • Forgetting the timeline & refusing to settle

  • Realizing you are your own bestie

  • Choosing to be curious instead of comparing

Libby Crow is an entrepreneur, teacher & self-proclaimed human sparkler.

Libby was a teacher who found her path by accident through network marketing and is now the founder of a marketing strategy company.

She runs multiple programs to teach women how to build and scale businesses online and is the co-founder of the Daily Shift - a personal development company for aspiring & accomplished entrepreneurs that she started with her husband.

She has also built a personal brand that earned over 7 figures last year.

What I love MOST about Libby is her ZEST, her spunk, and the HONESTY she brings to this episode.

She tells you what’s up, but in a loving & honest way that makes you want to be best friends with her. In this episode we cover everything from goal setting, figuring out what your thing is, how to move past feeling stuck, asking yourself better questions, to getting clarity on what YOU really want out of life. I really think you’re going to LOVE this episode & as always, I can’t wait to hear what you take from it!!

“Remembering that you have an inner compass side of you, that’s in your belly, it’s in your heart. Most likely not in your head. And that is a better guide than any book you’re gonna read, any course you’re gonna take, any podcast you’re gonna listen to.”

  • Unpretty by TLC

  • Let Me Blow Your Mind by Eve

“If I wasn’t excited about it, you bet your butt I’m not gonna do the work to actually see it out or create something around it.”

“Self-awareness really is number one, slowing down & asking yourself these questions; how am I really really doing? Who am I really really becoming? What would bring me most relief right now? What do I need to feel full?”

“Self-awareness comes from when you realize you’re your own bestie.”

“Entrepreneurship is a shit ton of imperfect messy action and seeing what actually works.”

“The goals you have, are they really yours? Or were they planted in you by someone else?”

“You can’t see the label when you’re inside the bottle.”

How to FEEL the FEAR & keep on MOVING

In this episode:

  • Acknowledging your fears without criticism

  • Disproving the story you’re telling yourself

  • Getting accountability to take action

  • Moving through fear instead of staying stuck

As we know, we create our thoughts right?

And those thoughts drive our emotions which determine whether or not we will take ACTION.

I’ve been thinking of that really basic concept but under the lens of FEAR that we have. In particular those little tiny things that pop up that we get scared of or have a negative emotion to that we just squash down. What that does? Is create a HABIT of hesitation which we KNOW we just do not have time for!

So, today I wanted to share a few TANGIBLE tips to help us take ACTION even when those FEARS creep in.

I just KNOW this will resonate with you & I can’t wait to hear what you think!

“We create our thoughts, our thoughts drive our emotions, & then our emotions determine what type of action we’ll take or if we’ll take action at all.”

“Sometimes we talk ourselves out of even letting ourselves feel the fear or the negative emotion, because we think it’s dumb. But it’s not dumb, if its real to you.”

“We’ve gotta figure out what the story is and then we’ve gotta challenge ourselves to prove that it’s wrong in some ways.”

“At the end of the day, you are not the kind of girl that settles… the girl who’s accomplishing all the things that she wants is just not letting herself stay stuck.”

A simple HACK to take ACTION!

In this episode:

  • Some of the science behind habits

  • Attaching desired habits to current habits

  • Taking action before hitting rock bottom

I don’t know if you’re like me, but sometimes I just want to take over the whole world & do ALL the things.

BUT, sometimes that can leave me feeling overwhelmed because I’m squirelling all over the place & I need to just focus in & take some action.

Today’s episode is all about one super SIMPLE hack I have found for STACKING the habits you WANT to have on top of the ones you already do automatically.

Because taking SOME action, even if it’s just one tiny habit, is always better than ZERO action - and you know we are ALL about that ACTION here. I just know this is going to be impactful & I can’t wait to hear how it helps you girl!

“We are waiting until it’s an actual problem. But in reality, we don’t wanna wait until its a problem, let’s just fix it now.”

“We create this BS story that it would be really hard to make a change, or have that conversation, or start that project, when in reality it’s not that hard.”

“The more that we do something over and over again, the stronger that connection, that network of neurons becomes.”

“You’ve got one life, in which you’re going to do everything you’ve ever done. Let’s act accordingly.”

Finding MAGIC in the MUNDANE

In this episode:

  • Simple ways to find more HAPPINESS in your day to day

  • How the things compound over time

  • Where excitement is DERIVED from in goals

Today... we are talking about WHY we are SO DAMN SERIOUS?!

Honestly, it’s like we are little kids slaying lemonade on the street corner in our Limited Too SWISHY pants…. playing with Barbies and then all of a sudden we are paying taxes and talking about insurance and COUNTING down the days til Friday...

SO…OF COURSE I understand we need to work, we have to do some AUDLTY things…but what about if we gave ourselves a LITTLE MAGIC TODAY to make the PROCESS toward getting where we want to go MORE FUN?

In today's quick hit we touch on how to get obsessed with falling in love with the PROCESS rather than what the PROCESS can produce, and get in the habit of asking ourselves…”HOW can this be more FUN?”

I know it’s not rocket science... but I think it’s actually LIFE changing.

Because it’s DAY changing.

& GOOD days piled on top of each other makes for good weeks, which makes for good months, to years to our entire LIVES right?!

So while often get REALLY caught up in our TO DO LISTS which are important because we have GOALS we want to crush… but what about our TO FEEL LIST?

Because how we FEEL about the goal is even more important than the GOAL itself isn't it?

& GIRL.... how we feel about our LIVES really freaking matters!

Can't wait to hear what you think!

"I’m so obsessed with falling in love with the PROCESS not what the process could produce so I’m constantly asking myself… “How can I make this more fun?” - Kacia Fitzgerald

"People are not LAZY…they just simply don’t have GOALS that inspire them" -Tony Robbins

  • Tilting your environment in your favor

  • Doing your DUTY at full speed

  • Having tough conversations that matter

Chris Harder is a powerhouse entrepreneur, philanthropist and host of the podcast, For the Love of Money who believes that when good people make good money, they do great things!

His mission is to help people take action towards living their best life because everyone has the right to an abundant lifestyle, and the responsibility to help others have the same.

I am BEYOND pumped for you to hear today’s interview with Chris Harder, a man who has impacted me in a very profound way & has been a mentor for me from afar for years.

I took this opportunity to sit & pick his brain on topics I think we will all find incredibly valuable. We talked about environment, and burnout, and relationships with significant others, about being the most ambitious person in your circle, money mindset & abundance.. And the list goes on. I REALLY think this episode is going to be impactful & I cannot wait to hear what you think!

“You’re not alone that you’re nervous to start, everybody was… that desire was placed in you for a reason. Every single person was put here with a calling.”

  • God’s Plan by Drake

“Your success in life will be in direct proportion to the number of tough conversations you’re willing to have.”

“You have a duty to go where you are meant to go, and it is not up to other people if you’re gonna go there or not.”

“You’re not only hurting yourself when you don’t move forward at full speed, but you’re also hurting the other people that would have been inspired by you and that would have followed the path that you forged.”

“Something is always gonna suffer. That’s the first thing we have to accept. There is no way everything can be on point at all times, and that is okay.”

“Be honest with yourself. Do you have all the money to do all the things you want to do, to create all the impact you wanna create.”

“You’re either making the world better, at its messiest point, by living into your natural talents and strengths that you were given. Or you’re making it worse, by sitting out and letting people around you suffer.”

Navigating a SETBACK

In this episode:

  • Choose to give yourself grace

  • Stopping the self-sabotage train

  • Refuse the victim mentality

  • Taking ownership & asking better questions

Real talk. I think setbacks? Are an opportunity for a comeback, to learn, to grow and they’re really freaking important. BUT, all of that sounds a lot easier said than done. Honestly, it’s really difficult sometimes to not get caught up in those setbacks and let them become these huge problems that cause us to spiral downward. So today, I want to kibosh that, and give you some tangible little hacks you can do to get pumped back up in the midst of setbacks. I really think this will be so useful for us all & I can’t wait to hear what you think!

“We give ourselves grace. We look at life as a journey, and that one setback... is just a little roadbump in this epic journey and path that we’re on.”

“Unfortunately, we take our setback and we actually decide that it means that we have a lack of ability as a person, to accomplish our goals… and that’s really scary.”

“At the end of the day, it’s nobody else’s job to believe in you. It’s your job to believe in you. And when you take that responsibility and ownership, it feels better.”

“As humans we love progress. We also love identifying what we can control.”

“If we don’t have setbacks, how are we gonna learn how to get better?”

Start BEFORE you're "READY"

In this episode:

  • Ripping the bandaid & going for it

  • You won’t ever know it all - learn as you go

  • Getting public accountability

  • Making your goal part of your identity

Today’s topic was sparked by an idea I came up with while listening to Taylor Swift in a coffee shop with Lizzie, so you know it’s gotta be a good one. We are talking about starting before you’re "ready".

& of course, because I LOVE giving you tangible tips you can use TODAY, I’m going to break it down into FIVE things you can do to get out of your own way & just START.

“Inaction breeds fear, but it also creates all of these nasty stories that we tell ourselves of why we think that we can’t do something. And sometimes, we never even start the thing, EVER.”

“It’s your responsibility to show up for your life if you’ve got a gut feeling that something should be done with your idea.”

“We never know it all, we have to learn as we go.”

“Sometimes we’ve gotta gut check. We’ve gotta remind ourselves that the magic that we’re looking for in our lives is in the work, or the scary thing that we need to do that we’re actually avoiding.”

Finding JOY & LIGHT during the DARKEST times w/Brittany Crosby

In this episode:

  • How to be helpful to loved ones who are DEEPLY Suffering

  • What NOT to say to those dealing with a severe illness/battle we can't understand

  • The importance of health, wellness & self-awareness

  • Signs & symptoms of ovarian cancer

I am beyond excited that you are here today to hear from our guest, Brittany Crosby.

Brittany is an incredible human who is an online entrepreneur & stage 3 ovarian cancer slayer that I am just OBSESSED with.

I have wanted to have her on the podcast since day one and decided the time was NOW because her story is POWERFUL and could literally SAVE someone's LIFE.

I just know it’s going to motivate you to take ACTION in a lot of different ways.

Brittany was diagnosed with stage 3 ovarian cancer at 27 years old after a TON of doctors told her that it was something different.

Until doctor number 13, diagnosed her with cancer. I know this episode will be powerful because not only do we talk about her incredible story, but we talk about the importance of health, wellness & self-awareness, how to support someone who is going through something that we may just not understand.

We also use a lot of humor, to keep this very heavy topic a little bit light, but I REALLY think this episode is going to be so impactful.

I can’t wait to hear what you think!

  • Head Above Water by Avril Lavigne

  • In My Blood by Shawn Mendes

“You never want to hear the word CANCER, but I was like okay, buckle up. What do we do now?”

“Don’t disappear. Just don’t… you don’t know what to say, so you don’t want to say the wrong thing, so you don’t say anything at all. But cancer is so isolating.”

“Saying that you don’t know what to say, is SO powerful.”

“I have had doctors literally look me in the eye and say, I don’t know how you’re doing this, but whatever you’re doing, keep doing it. This is the only reason you are able to endure all of this.”

“One day, something is going to happen and you’re going to realize how short and fragile life really is.”

Is it really a "SACRIFICE"?

In this episode:

  • Why Sacrifices are REQUIRED to hit big goals

  • What are YOU willing to sacrifice?

  • What are you NOT willing to sacrifice?

  • Choosing sacrifices to avoid burnout

“A sacrifice isn’t really a sacrifice but instead, it’s a down payment on a future abundant blessing.”

Powerful, right!?

I like talking about sacrifices because the truth is, we HAVE to make sacrifices in order to achieve our dreams & goals.

Whether that’s in your career, your relationship, to build a business that you’re obsessed with, sacrifices are REQUIRED.

& I don’t be sacrifice in a negative way, but I love that when you choose to make a sacrifice for your future, you build confidence.

I’m excited to dive into this topic because I found a way to ask myself some questions around sacrifice that I think could help you because they’ve helped me!

“Instead of getting in your head about wanting to balance life perfectly, you instead are going through your life intentionally choosing: this fits my goal right now, this fits what I need, this no longer serves me.”

“Not what you ‘should want,’ because ‘should want’ won’t keep you in it when it gets hard, when you get a curveball, when you’ve gotta choose some things to sacrifice.”

“Different goals require different sacrifices.”

“What a shame would it be to go through life only taking the easy path, never knowing what you’re truly capable of? Because yes you freaking CAN.”

In this episode:

  • Redefining the meaning of failure

  • Pain + reflection = progress

  • Choosing to grow from pain or failure

  • Using pain/failure as a tool to serve us

Girl! I’m excited that you’re here today, I am PUMPED about this topic. Today we are talking about how we can actually use PAIN & even FAILURE to motivate us to take action in our lives.

I feel like as humans, we really do need CONTRAST in our lives.

We need happiness and we need sadness, we need success and we need failure, we need things going according to plan but also we need things going a little off course sometimes. We need those growth opportunities and things we can learn from when they don’t go according to plan and we need to figure it out.

I’m going to give you a couple TANGIBLE actions you can start using TODAY to reframe & redefine failure so that it can start SERVING you. I can’t wait to hear what you think girl!

“It might not workout the way you planned, in fact it probably won’t. But what if it’s BETTER?”

“We’re not gonna grow if something doesn’t go wrong or according to plan because often we are forced to learn from those things that are perceived as failures.”

“As humans we love progress, so we gotta fail so we can learn so we can grow.”

“When we fail, we sometimes falsely identify ourselves as failures if we’re not in a good headspace or we haven’t redefined failure.”

“Every time we’re failing or feeling pain, we get a choice to reframe that failure and put it as a tool in our fricken toolbox.”

“What are you gonna do today to feel proud of yourself today? How are you going to live for your future self today?”

“Your thought is what creates your emotion and your emotion then creates your actions, and then the actions you take are then what create your outcome or the results you get in the world.”

“Just becoming aware that your thoughts are creating your emotions is game changing for most people.”

“Who’s the person that achieves that thing you want to achieve? Someone who thinks differently than you do.”

  • Proactively syncing & planning schedules together

I’ve gotta say I am pretty dang PUMPED about today’s guest, because we have my very favorite person, the MVP of my life, my boyfriend of over TEN YEARS, Seena Ghetmiri.

Seena is a dentist in San Diego who is the cool, calm, collected force behind my crazy.

He is articulate, well-spoken, funny, smart, humble gracious & kind and during this episode we talk about significant others support - especially during transitions in life - we talk about conflict resolution and of course give you some tips & tangible takeaways that we think will be helpful for you, regardless of your relationship status.

We break down how we map out our schedules & have really learned how to communicate with each other based not only on our own self-awareness, but our awareness of each others needs.

I may be a tad biased BUT, I really think you will LOVE this episode, and I can’t wait to hear what you think!

“You’re in a relationship with another person, you're gonna have disagreements, & different opinions on things, but it’s just about consistently building those skills to handle it more effectively.”

  • Dirt Off Your Shoulder by Jay-Z

“What it really came down to is understanding what your motivation is, what your driver is, what gives you fulfillment, and this wasn’t it.”

“It’s the underlying issue. It’s really learning, how can we find that out together without having to tear each other apart.”

“Just acknowledging that, I’m trying to understand but I just don’t get it at this point, how can we find a way for you to maybe explain it better or explain it differently so that I can really understand why you’re upset.”

“It’s just showing effort that I am trying to understand, but I just don’t yet & that’s okay.”

In this episode we'll chat about:

  • Paying attention to what pumps you up & what drains you

  • Getting off the “cookie cutter” path

  • Fixing something that bugs you

  • Letting yourself be open-minded

& girl....have you ever thought...what the heck is my “thing”?

As in what’s your career path, is this the right career path? Should you change things up, should you add a side hustle, should you start a blog? What’s your purpose, what’s your PASSION?

This is one of my FAVORITE topics ever & I think it is so relevant because I know, from the messages & questions I’ve received, we WANT to talk about this & really figure out, what IS our thing?!

I wanted to come at this with the lens of how I have started to navigate how to feel fulfilled & excited in PURSUIT of figuring out what my “thing” is, even when it feels uncertain.

I just know you are going to LOVE this one & the tangible tips I lay out for finding your “thing.”

“We’ve gotta get out of our own damn way to do something different, to have a different experience, because that is what life is all about.”

“Happiness & fulfillment are not a destination.”

“I think if we commit to going through life adding things that bring us joy, and subtracting things that don’t bring us joy, that this is going to be one hell of a ride that we’re excited about.”

“Direction is so much more important to speed… it’s all about the pursuit of getting there & staying open minded.”

“You are holding the keys to your life, and your experiences and how much you’re willing to push yourself outside of your comfort zone might be the very thing that shapes you as a person.”

Self Care, Mental Health & ENDING the STIGMA with Dr. Christina

In this episode:

  • What therapy is vs what therapy is not

  • Supporting those around us who are struggling with mental health issues

  • Combating mental health stigma with the movement

  • Mental health practices for everyone

Dr. Christina Iglesia, is a clinical psychologist who provides therapeutic services in the San Francisco Bay Area.

The stigma that her patients bring into therapy has been an enduring theme as well as a notable barrier to treatment. It is with this in mind that she created the #therapyiscool mental health action campaign, with the intent to encourage authentic conversations about mental health. This mental health campaign is a call to action on two fronts. One brings attention to the matter of mental health and removes its stigma. The other provides much needed funds for mental health treatment.

Today’s episode with Dr. Christina is such a POWERFUL conversation around mental health and I am SO excited to share it with you all. She is incredibly insightful and not only provides tangible tips for anyone who are just wanting to be in our best mental health mindset, but also for those of us who have others in our lives that are struggling with depression, or addiction, or wanting to see a therapist or needing to & not knowing exactly how to navigate that.

We talk about how to actually have more authentic conversations about mental health & to encourage this dialogue in society. Her campaign #therapyiscool is something I know we can stand behind together & you’re gonna want to stick around to the end of this episode for something extra special I decided to do.

“Us as women can do hard things. There’s a reason that we are the ones birthing children.”

  • Shake It Off by Taylor Swift

“Anyone who is open to personal growth, can benefit from therapy.”

“This is something that doesn’t have to be for a certain subset.”

“When you’re trying to find the words to express concern for somebody in your life you have to really think this through & be mindful of how are my words going to be interpreted.”

“People who have a support system, do better in treatment.”

“It is hard to navigate life completely on our own even if we don’t have any struggles. We need connection. We need human contact.”

“We have to be mindful about what signals our body is telling us, and then we have to listen to it.”
