After the real estate market crashed in 2007 Mr. Coffie launched a successful consulting company helping small business owners earn millions in revenues via federal small business programs. In 2012 he launched Evankoff Construction, a steel erection company building airplane hangars and metal buildings for government agencies around the country. In 2017 Mr. Coffie launched Scorecontracts @ YouTube a channel to help other small businesses achieve their revenue goals using the power of federal contracts. In 2018, Ms. Burnett was appointed the Executive Director for the HUBZone Contractors National Council, a member-based non-profit organization established to advocate, educate and promote the HUBZone Program. Ms. Burnett’s knowledge of the HUBZone Program and expertise on government contracting stems from 10 years supporting the HUBZone small business community both as a contractor for  SBA and small business consultant. In 2013, Ms. Burnett was recruited by the council as a subject matter expert and she has remained actively involved since.

LTC Gabriel Ruiz is President and CEO of Advanced IT Concepts, Inc. (AITC), was recently awarded the 2017 North Florida Small Business Person of the Year by the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA). Ruiz was also recognized as the 2016 North Florida District Minority-Owned Small Business Person of the Year. 

Gabriel Ruiz was born in Puerto Rico, he served in the U.S. Army for 26 years as a Communications and Technology Acquisition Officer. In 2006 he proudly retired as a Lieutenant Colonel. This is when he then launched his business with the guidance of his mentor.

Since 2013 AITC has delivered $70M+ programs. The company is a Service-Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) and currently 8a certified.

She is a passionate advocate for women in architecture and construction, and works with professional and non-profit organizations dedicated to the advancement of women in the industry. 

Angela is a licensed architect in 15 states, a licensed general contractor in 2 states, a Fellow of the American Institute of Architects, and a LEED Accredited Professional. She has successfully led complex design and construction projects around the world, including a $500 Million USAID contract in Afghanistan—the largest infrastructure construction contract awarded to a women-owned business to date by the USAID-Afghanistan Mission.

Linda Rawson is a technology entrepreneur, author, inventor, and C-level executive.  Since 2006, she has owned and operated DynaGrace Enterprises, a Women-Owned Small Business in rural Morgan, Utah.  She started as a software engineer in the eighties when it was not typical for a woman in Utah. 

She has received several awards for Davis/Morgan business of the year and wrote a very vulnerable book about grief.  Her background as a software engineer, combined with her corporate executive experience, merges the technical with the business world.   She has exceeded expectations and never let various challenges and obstacles associated with being a woman impede upon her path to success

In this episode we discuss her adventure navigating the 8a program. How she experienced success after finding a mentor/partner who showed her the ropes. Life after 8a and her latest invention; a weather station called the WeatherEgg.  She educates children about weather science through her coloring book and finds balance in life by traveling and participating in outdoor activities. She is pivoting her company into air quality.

Robert is also written two books “Small Business Starter Guide to Federal Government Contracts & Searching for Solicitations” and  “Secrets to Noncompetitive Government Contracts”

He opens up about his experiences working with FEMA after a large natural disaster and how the rules are not the same as many of the federal agencies.
