Jennie Allen is the author of Get Out Of Your Head and the founder and visionary of IF:Gathering. She is a passionate leader following God's call on her life to catalyze a generation of women to live what they believe. Jennie has a master's in Biblical studies from Dallas Theological Seminary and lives in Dallas, Texas, with her husband, Zac and their four children.

On this season of the podcast:

Are your thoughts holding you captive? Our minds are anxious, nervous, distracted. I know what it’s like to swirl in a spiral of destructive thoughts, but I also know that we don’t have to stay stuck in toxic thinking patterns any longer.

God built a way for us to escape our downward spirals. Freedom comes when we refuse to be victims to our thoughts and realize we have already been equipped with power from God to fight and win the war for our minds.

Our enemy is determined to get in our heads to make us feel helpless, overwhelmed, and incapable of making a difference for the kingdom of God. But when we submit our minds to Christ, the promises and goodness of God flood our lives in remarkable ways.

It starts in your head. And from there, the possibilities are endless.

Get ready… Season 3 of the Made for This Podcast is HERE! I wrote Get Out of Your Head because I was sick of the war in my own head and in so many of yours. I pray the whole of humanity reads this and fights back with the God-given weapons we already have. ⁣You are in charge of your thoughts, they are not in charge of you. Let’s fight back together.

13 - Victimhood vs. Gratitude
There’s something robbing our joy, leaving us defeated and paralyzed and sad. In some degree, all of us are acting like the world is out to get us and we don’t have to live like this. God has given us a way out of our spiraling thoughts. NOTE - there are so many of you are facing unthinkable abuse and wrong, listen to the whole episode… we’re not talking about this. This attitude we’re going to address is the victim mindset that steals the hope and power of God from your circumstances.

Introducing Season 3: Get Out of Your Head

I hear all the time from people who feel stuck in patterns of frustration and defeat. In my search for a solution, I learned that the greatest spiritual battle of our generation is taking place between our ears. How we think shapes how we live. So it's crucial that we learn how to stop our spinning thoughts and refuse to fall prey to toxic thinking patterns like victimhood, anxiety, and distraction. In Season 3 of the Made for This podcast, we will focus on biblical truth and recent discoveries in neuroscience to show exactly how we can fight the enemies of the mind with the truth of who God is and who He calls us to be. "Be transformed by the renewing of your mind..." This means it's possible.

When I travel around the country and ask rooms full of people whether they struggle with anxiety or control, the entire room raises their hands. 16 - The Power of Need
One of the biggest barriers I think we all face in friendship is expressing our own needs. I struggle with this! A friend I love told me recently, “Jennie, I just don’t think you need me!” It couldn’t be farther from the truth, but she was right. I have a hard time telling my friends what’s going on in my life and what I need from them. We all just stay within our lines and wave politely at each other rather than getting into the everyday parts of each other’s lives. When I talk about these hard things on the show, just know I’m right there with you in this. I believe in us team!

In this episode, we are diving into a difficult topic. Guys- division and competition are killing the Church. And maybe you haven't even noticed it in yourself. 03 - How to Have Life-Giving Conversations
What do you and your friends circle around? Do you find yourself coming home from hanging out with your friends feeling discouraged or encouraged? I think the answer to how we have life-giving relationships lies in what we talk about, what we circle around. We can shift the entire culture of our friendships by doing this one thing... quit talking about other people.

01 - The Secret to Healthy Relationships
How do I make friends? This is a question we all ask no matter our age or stage of life. Join me as I talk about the biggest problem we face as we try to make friends. The Apostle Paul, the author of the letter to the Philippian church, knew this and knew friendship and community were not about him, it was about others and about living on mission.

Let’s look at the book of Philippians together to see what happens when God is at the center of our relationships. Let’s also address the elephant in the room… co-dependency. How do we know if we’re in a co-dependent relationship and what do we do about it? We’re going there in episode 1… join us!
