Michael's podcasts have helped me immensely during this difficult time. I'm so grateful for them. Thank you Michael.

Academy Award-winning filmmaker and political provocateur Michael Moore offers his subversive and humorous take on the issues of the day and talks to a wide range of people from comedians and politicians to the people who’ve tried to kill him. Plus various mischief with Mike’s friends, family and the neighbors who don’t work for the NSA.

Episode Date
Ep. 197: Welcome To The Department of Restorative Justice & Redemption (w/ Dan Berger)

America's prison system is brutal, stupid and inhumane. It makes us all less safe and has a terrible impact on other parts of our society such as health care, education, and even how we treat one another. "Reform" or band-aids will not make it better - it must be uprooted, abolished and replaced. Michael Moore recently proposed a "Department of Public Safety & Compassion" to replace the existing way we do policing. In this episode, he proposes a "Department of Restorative Justice & Redemption" to replace our existing Prison Industrial Complex. He is joined by Dan Berger, a scholar who has studied prison abolition for several years. They talk about the never-discussed constituency in America called "the criminalized majority," how cruel behavior in society is often taught by cruel institutions (like prisons) themselves, and what they would do if Kitty Dukakis were raped and murdered. WHOA!

Ep. 196: "Warren Buffett Is Living Off YOU" (w/ Anand Giridharadas)

The private tax returns of America's wealthiest few individuals were just leaked to the non-profit journalists at ProPublica and they reveal an American plutocracy that has completely avoided paying personal taxes. We already knew that the wealthiest corporations were able to maneuver the tax code to their benefit, but the levels at which the ultra-wealthy are able to avoid taxes is maddening. And it is all LEGAL. Michael is joined by journalist and author Anand Giridharadas to discuss how they've been able to rig the system, why this is Exhibit A for why we need a wealth tax, and why so many working class Americans have been indoctrinated into supporting the rich and being against taxing them more.

Ep. 195: The Graduate (High School Valedictorian Speech Edition) (w/ Paxton Smith)

In Dallas, Texas last week, 18 year-old high school valedictorian Paxton Smith decided at the last minute to throw away her school-approved graduation speech to address a new Texas law signed Republican Governor Greg Abbott that would make all abortions illegal as early as six weeks into a pregnancy. Video of her 3-minute speech has gone viral and caused a rumble - so she joins Rumble with Michael Moore to explain how she summoned the courage to deliver that speech, how positive the reaction has been, whether she defines herself as "politically active, and the best advice she's received since going viral.

Finally, Michael Moore is confused as to why Joe Manchin was sitting behind the legendary Joan Baez at the Kennedy Center Honors on Sunday night singing along to "We Shall Overcome" to honor her when it is Joe Manchin's intransigence, selfishness and greed that needs to be overcome. Weirdest TV moment of the year.

Ep. 194: Welcome To The Department of Public Safety & Compassion

The billions of dollars that currently go to police departments across America are NOT contributing to the safety, health and well-being of our citizens. It's time to re-imagine how we think about "public safety" and "law and order." As police budgets continue to increase (despite calls to defund the police), Michael Moore shares a proposal for the creation of The Department of Public Safety & Compassion in every town in America. Rather than attempting to solve human problems by sending in men with badges and guns, we need to dismantle this anachronistic armed wing of the patriarchy and have a department that will serve and truly protect the public from the real dangers in our society: hunger, the lack of clean drinking water, mental health needs, insufficient healthcare, opioid addiction, inadequate public schools, etc. What if we had Public Safety officers whose sole job was to aid the homeless, the unemployed, the addicted, the mentally ill? Don’t they deserve to be protected? From us? Won’t every neighborhood be better off if those suffering in a society fueled by greed, racism and inequity were helped rather than jailed, abused and abandoned? Wouldn’t there in fact be less “crime” if we chose to attack the real crimes and the true criminals who’ve created these appalling conditions? Instead of a militarized police state, what if we built a compassionate state staffed by those with love in their hearts and the knowledge of how to provide the actual help people need when they call 911? Defund the police? De-police the police! Every neighborhood deserves better, much better. It’s the 21st century, folks. C’mon.

Ep. 192: Raoul Peck's "Exterminate All The Brutes" (w/ Raoul Peck)

Filmmaker Raoul Peck has made one of the most audacious films to air on American television. The documentary series titled "Exterminate All The Brutes" tells the brutally honest history of colonialism, genocide and white supremacy, and dismantles the Eurocentric framework through which history is normally taught. He joins Michael Moore for a conversation on how this film got made, and what it has to say about the power of ignorance, the preservation of privilege and how the only way to upend all of this is for each of us to join the fight and never give up, no matter the consequences. Ep. 191: Everybody In The Pool! w/ Heather McGhee

How is it that the richest and most powerful country in the world can't provide even the most basic of human needs for its citizens? What has been holding America back when much poorer countries are able to provide a more stable social safety net? Heather McGhee, one of our most thoughtful economic and policy thinkers has a new book out explaining that racism -- specifically the fear by white Americans that any gains by Black Americans come at their expense -- has reliably turned the majority of white Americans AGAINST government programs that would help all Americans for fear that it would be beneficial to people of color. She joins Michael to discuss what we can do to overcome this decades-long propaganda campaign that has afflicted white America, and how the idea of a "solidarity dividend" can unite a multi-racial, cross-class coalition to take on concentrated wealth and power and build a better country.

Ep. 190: Tax Day In America... Time To Fund The Killing Of More Palestinians!

As the decades-long ethnic cleansing of Palestinians from their homeland by Israel has intensified over the past week, Michael Moore shares his thoughts on America's culpability in funding these atrocities. He also recounts his trips to the Occupied West Bank and Gaza in the 1980's, his history of activism with Flint and Detroit's large Jewish and Arab populations, and why the U.S. government must stop funding Israeli apartheid and violence.

Michael also shares his concerns with the dangerous announcement by the CDC to loosen the mask standards when only one-third of Americans have been vaccinated, plus the scary news that the conservative Supreme Court will be taking up a new abortion case that might continue to weaken a women's right to choose.

Ep. 189: "We Are So Damn Fortunate" -- The End of COVID Could Come If You and I Convinced Everyone We Know To Get Their Shot (with Dr. Eric Topol)

A new report claims that U.S. and worldwide COVID deaths are actually much higher than the official numbers: over 900,000 deaths in the U.S. (as opposed to the official count of 574,000) and nearly 7 million worldwide (twice the official number of 3.24 million). This virus has ravaged the world and upended all of our lives. And we still can’t get the truth?

However, as we live through an historically deadly pandemic, we are also living through one of the greatest scientific and medical breakthroughs in history. As Dr. Eric Topol tells Michael Moore, "we are so damn fortunate." In record time, we have developed multiple, extremely effective vaccines that are reaching millions of arms, that cause very limited side effects (and no side effects for the majority of people aside from a sore arm), and it's free. We have an unbelievable opportunity to crush the virus, severely limit the havoc it causes us all, and get back to living healthy lives. Without these amazing vaccines, we'd be staring down several more years of death and destruction. But thanks to these medical and scientific breakthroughs, we stand a fighting chance if we all continue to get vaccinated!

Dr. Topol, who is the Executive Vice President of Scripps Research, one of the most important medical research institutions in the world, helps Michael put this all into perspective and clears up myths about the vaccine and about "herd immunity." Finally, some truth!

And some true hope.

Ep. 188: How to Convince Joe Manchin to Do the Right Thing

Due to the 50-50 split in the United States Senate, the fate of all critical legislation and of the Biden Presidency itself, lays in the hands of West Virginia's conservative Democratic Senator Joe Manchin. And Senator Manchin has made it very clear that he intends to use this power for all it is worth. Fine! Good! In this episode of Rumble, Michael Moore encourages Senator Manchin to go ahead and use that power, but do so for the good of the people of West Virginia. Bring home the bacon! High-speed internet! More funding for research at West Virginia University! Help for those suffering from opioid addiction! Job training and jobs for former coal workers!

Michael also shares his love and appreciation for the state and its people. West Virginia has a rich history militant union action. The state also happens to be very poor. There are so many good, helpful things that Senator Manchin can deliver to the state of West Virginia if he wants to use his power wisely. Hasn’t anyone from the White House called Manchin and simply said, “just tell us what you want— and it’s yours!”

Call Senator Manchin's office and encourage him to give Biden the votes he needs - but do it in return for getting a bunch of good stuff for the people of West Virginia!

Ep. 187: It’s Like Herding Americans! How To Defeat COVID This Year (w/ Laurie Garrett)

Michael is joined by public health expert and Pulitzer Prize-winning writer Laurie Garrett to discuss the new reports that the United States of America will never reach herd immunity to the coronavirus. President Biden seemed somewhat defeated when he had to announce recently that we will have to settle for 70% getting just one shot by the 4th of July. They discuss how each of us are the most important ambassadors for total vaccination success. If 200,000 Average American citizens who are listening to this podcast each convince 10 people to get their shots — BOOM! Yes, there is a small portion of the American public who will simply refuse to get the vaccine and whom we cannot reach. However, most of the people avoiding vaccination have fears and skepticism — and each of us can help convince them with our support, encouragement, kindness and love. President Biden — don’t give up on us. We’ll get millions of those sleeves rolled up by summer!

Ep. 186: Biden Our Time

Joe Biden is an unlikely savior. Nothing in his past indicated there was a second coming of FDR on its way. However... WTF is going on?! Elected President at a time of transformational change in America, he has chosen to read the political winds — and those winds have shifted left. The progressive worldview is in ascendance, and the demand by the American public for a big, active government that serves the needs of the American people is what the majority wants. Contrary to what he's done throughout his political career, Joe Biden is not punching left, but riding the progressive wave. And it is looking really, really good.

While it's too soon to paint a full picture of the Biden presidency and whether this political change will last, Michael Moore shares candid thoughts about being shocked by how Biden has governed, asks leftists to understand and acknowledge political victories that are occurring, and also notes that there will be serious political battles ahead. He also shares a story of the first time he met Senator Biden in 2004, and makes an open, public plea to the President to keep delivering for the people, keep following his conscience, and keep telling Republicans and Larry Summers to fuck off.

Ep. 184: EMERGENCY PODCAST SYSTEM — Guilty! Guilty! Guilty!

It took only 10 hours of deliberations for a Minneapolis jury to find former police office Derek Chauvin guilty of second-degree murder, third-degree murder and second-degree manslaughter of George Floyd. The decision was swift, overwhelming, obvious, and yet, somehow, shocking. Maybe it should not have been such a shock that jurors in the political district that elected Rep. Ilhan Omar to Congress (twice) made the right decision.

However, as Michael Moore explains in this EMERGENCY PODCAST SYSTEM episode of Rumble, it is not normal for these cases to go the right way. He shares his feeling of total shock, plus his warning to white Americans and police officers who do not want to see America change into a more diverse, just, and equitable society. He also explains how this one act of accountability is not the massive, revolutionary change we need to address white supremacy, criminal justice reform, and anti-Black racism. Finally, he pays tribute to Darnella Frazier, the courageous teenager who filmed the the Chauvin murder with a steady hand and a lot of gumption.

Eric Roth is one of the most successful Hollywood screenwriters of our time. His writing credits include  “A Star Is Born," “Extremely Loud & Incredibly Close,” “The Curious Case of Benjamin Button,” “The Good Shepherd,” “Munich,” “Ali,” “The Insider,” “The Horse Whisperer,” “The Postman,” and the film for which he won an Academy Award, "Forrest Gump."

He's also written two of the most highly-anticipated films coming later this year: the science-fiction drama "Dune," and the Martin Scorcese-Leonardo DiCaprio-Robert De Niro collaboration, "Killers of The Flower Moon."

His most recent film, MANK, is one that he produced, and it's up for an Academy Award for Best Picture (among several other nominations) at the Oscars later this month. Roth joins Michael Moore to discuss making MANK with his close collaborator and best friend, director David Fincher, how "Killers of The Flower Moon" may be "the last movie of its kind," what to expect from "Dune" when comes out, his screenwriting advice, and his guilt about making "House of Cards" which helped catapult streaming as the #1 way we watch movies now.  They also share their thoughts on the importance of preserving the theatrical experience, the closing of the ArcLight Cinerama Dome, and the future of cinema.

The COVID-19 vaccine is out of control in Michigan. Governor Whitmer is afraid to order a shut down of the state after months of threats and attacks from the right-wing and the business community. Ep. 181: Does Michigan Have A Death Wish? (w/ Dr. Irwin Redlener)

Michigan is in the middle of the worst-in-the-nation COVID-19 surge. Other Upper Midwest states are seeing an uptick in cases, as well. While it seems like there is a light at the end of the pandemic tunnel, we are at serious risk of causing more death and destruction and prolonging the lockdown due to a combination of stupidity, misinformation and poor leadership on many levels.

Michael seeks the counsel of Dr. Irwin Redlener on why this is happening and what we must do to crush this virus for good. Dr. Redlener co-founded the Children's Health Fund in 1987, and has been a scholar, an advocate, and a monumental figure in the fight for public health, children's health and disaster preparedness for several decades.

Ep. 180: The Era of 'Big Government Is Evil’ Is Over! (feat. David Dayen)

We appear to be entering a new political era in America where Reagan's lie that "government is the problem" and Clinton's declaration that "big government is over" is finally coming to an end. Good Riddance!

After decades of cruel, inhumane and unjust economic policies that favored cutting government services, redistributing wealth upwards, and always prioritizing private, for-profit industry over the needs of the people, the political winds have shifted, and they are blowing heavily to the left. And Joe Biden, who has spent a political career on the wrong side of many of these issues, is now embracing the belief that big, good government that spends massive amounts of money to meet the needs of the people is how he wants to lead the country. After passing the $1.9 trillion American Recovery Bill, the next Biden initiative is a multi-trillion dollar infrastructure plan. Michael is joined by David Dayen, Executive Editor of the American Prospect, to discuss this political realignment and detail what the infrastructure plan might do for America's roads, bridges, water pipes, broadband internet, railroads, along with the postal service. They also discuss how stimulus checks and vaccine shots are raising the belief that government can and should be a positive force for good in helping peoples' lives.

Ep. 179: Aaron Sorkin -- "The Only Thing Better Than A Story You Don't Know Is A Story You Think You Know"

Aaron Sorkin is one of our most celebrated and influential playwrights and screenwriters whose plays, films and television work include A Few Good Men, The American President, The West Wing, Sports Night, The Newsroom, The Social Network, Moneyball, and Steve Jobs. Before the pandemic, his stage adaptation of To Kill A Mockingbird, starring Jeff Daniels as Atticus Finch, had turned into one of the the great Broadway shows of all time.

His latest film, which he wrote and directed, is The Trial of the Chicago 7. It has been nominated for an Academy Award for Best Picture, along with Sorkin’s fourth Best Screenwriter Oscar for the script. It is a powerful, timely, and entertaining film and it features an all-star cast.

Sorkin joins Michael Moore for a wide-ranging discussion including how the West Wing was almost not made, great career advice he received from The Social Network director David Fincher, plus advice he now gives to aspiring screenwriters. Also, his thoughts on patriotism, the lack of civics in American schools, and how Donald Trump got The Trial of the Chicago 7 made. They also discuss whether To Kill A Mockingbird will return after the pandemic and Sorkin issues a public challenge to fellow playwright Lin-Manuel Miranda.

Ep. 178: Mama. And America, Too.

April 2nd, 1921, is the 100th birthday of Michael's mother, Veronica Moore. If you've ever wondered how Michael Moore turned out to be, well, Michael Moore, start with her as he reveals (mostly) all.

The trial of the former police officer who killed George Floyd has been taking place in Minneapolis this week. The horrific footage of the life being choked out of Floyd by Derek Chauvin has been played nonstop from several angles, and we've heard Floyd's cries for his mother over and over again. We're also hearing testimony from young witnesses who stood on the curb watching the murder taking place, not knowing what they could do to help, and in the case of teenager Darnella Frazier, carefully filming the killing so the world could soon bear witness. The trial has been devastating, and Michael Moore demands of white Americans: DON’T LOOK AWAY.

Ep. 177: “Clips from This This Episode Will Be Run On The Night I'm Not So Lucky" (w. Flint Rep. Dan Kildee)
On Thursday, March 25th, Ron Weiser, Chairman of the Michigan Republican Party, described the 3 top elected women in Michigan - Governor Gretchen Whitmer, Attorney General Dana Nessel, and Secretary of State Jocelyn Benson - as “the three witches.” And when asked about how Republicans can remove from office the two Michigan Republican Congressmen who voted to impeach Trump, he stated that, other than defeating them in the primary, "assassination" was the only other option. Weiser is one more example of the heightened risk we face of more political violence and assassinations. We hear a clip from Glenn Beck publicly wondering if he should kill Michael Moore and could he get away with it? Instead of waiting for right-wing crazies to commit more acts of violence against the Michigan “witches,” Michael Moore asks what must be done to stop this potential violence, and to save the lives of elected representatives targeted by the head of the Republican Party. Is it free speech to call for someone’s death? He is joined on this episode by Flint, Michigan Congressman Dan Kildee who survived the January 6th attack on the Capitol. They discuss the existence of Republican political violence in America, and whatever happened to the "9/11-style" Congressional commission that was supposed to investigate the January 6th insurrection. Ep. 176: "What Is So Different About Americans? Are We Homicidal By Nature?" (w/ Tom Mauser, Columbine parent)

On Tuesday, March 23rd, when a young American man went on a shooting rampage at a supermarket in Boulder, Colorado, killing 10 people, it marked the 7th mass shooting in America in the last 7 days. Maybe life is getting back to normal in the U.S.?

March 23rd was also the 18-year anniversary of Michael Moore winning the Academy Award for "Bowling For Columbine," a film exploring America's love affair with guns, its history of racism and its culture of fear. He took the stage and denounced the Bush administration's illegal and immoral war in Iraq which had been launched days earlier.

One of the most memorable voices in "Bowling For Columbine" was Tom Mauser, father of 15 year-old Daniel Mauser, one of the 12 students killed at Columbine High School on April 20th, 1999. Mauser raised an idea that became the key question in the film: while other countries have violent histories, violent video games, violent movies, and profane music, and while some also have plenty of guns, why is it only in America that we shoot and kill each other so much?

Twenty years later, Tom Mauser joins Michael on Rumble to discuss the same exact question.

Ep. 175: My Afternoon with the Killer of Vincent Chin + #StopAsianHate with Annie Tan

Sign-up for Michael Moore's email list!

In 1987, Michael Moore exclusively interviewed Ronald Ebens, the former Chrysler autoworker who, along with his laid-off autoworker stepson, brutally beat a Chinese-American man named Vincent Chin to death with a baseball bat in Detroit 5 years earlier. A witness heard Ebens tell Chin and his Asian-American friend that they "were the reason we're all getting laid off" -- a reference to the scapegoating of the Japanese for the American auto industry cutting jobs (again, Chin was Chinese, but that made no difference to his killer). The killing of Chin and the fact that Ebens spent no time in jail and only paid a small fine set off a wave of new Asian-American civil rights activism.

In this special episode of Rumble, Michael recounts his 2 hour meeting with the defiant killer of Vincent Chin and notes the all-too-familiar "white-guy-as-victim syndrome" that Ebens exhibited due to his legal and media ordeal after he killed Chin. Michael is joined by an Asian-American public school teacher, storyteller, activist, and the cousin of the late Vincent Chin, Annie Tan, who explains the importance of Vincent Chin's legacy and discusses the proactive, positive work that is being done to confront anti-Asian racism and violence.

Finally, March 23rd, 2021 is Michael Moore's Liberation Day. After 379 days in a self-imposed quarantine and one month after receiving his second dose of the COVID-19 vaccine, he's finally leaving the house and he ponders all the places he will go.

One of the most important pieces of legislation in recent American history is in front of the U.S. Senate right now. It may determine whether we are able to maintain and strengthen voting rights in America, or whether Republicans will continue their path to minority rule, where more Americans will continue to vote for Democrats, but the Republican party will continue to hold power due to voter suppression, gerrymandering, the electoral college and other regressive factors.

Journalist Ari Berman has been ferociously studying and educating us about the all-out attack on voting rights and what we need to do about it. He joins Michael to discuss the Senate legislation and House legislation we must get passed and how this will all come down to abolishing the filibuster.

Ep. 173: A St. Patrick’s Day Plea

The political winds have shifted in America over the past few years, and it is blowing in a very progressive direction. The moderate, centrist Joe Biden is not an ideologue who came into office to lead America left -- but he is following the will of the people, and the people want a government that is responsive to their needs, ends this pandemic, and ensures jobs, health care, good schools and safety.

This shift in our country has recently manifested itself with the $1.9 trillion Recovery Act the Democrats succeeded in passing, which will do us a lot of good. This is something we must acknowledge, be proud of, and keep pushing for more of! Michael addresses these shifting political winds and what it means for us all.

But first, thousands of Catholic children (often referred to as  "migrants," "illegal migrants," "illegal aliens," "unaccompanied migrants," or "unaccompanied children," among other phrases) are being held in detention centers along the border. How long will this inhumane process and dehumanizing debate about it last? Mike challenges the Catholic Church to step up and advocate for these children, their safety and their humanity.

In our final installment from the Rumble 25 million download live special, Michael is joined by comedian and podcaster Katie Halper to expose the concept of "Woke-washing," the press letting its guard down during the Biden administration, and the centrist Democrats' weaponization of identity politics and civility politics. Next, Mike and Katie are joined by "Bad Faith" podcast host and former Bernie Sanders National Press Secretary to discuss the toxic only culture of moderate Democrats, coping with the pandemic and Andrew Cuomo.

Finally, Michael is joined by an old friend from Flint, radio host and political activist Sam Riddle, to discuss getting the vaccine ("despite Tuskegee"), how the fear that members of Congress felt on January 6th is a fear felt everyday by Black Detroiters, and how emerging, young leadership must be nurtured.

Michael Moore received his second dose of the Covid-19 Pfizer vaccine this week. He discusses his yearlong lockdown during the pandemic, why he decided to get vaccinated now, and why we should all get vaccinated when our number is called. He also shares the benefits of all the solitary time in his 353-day quarantine, his "liberation day" list of things to do once the vaccine has taken effect, the racial and socioeconomic disparities in vaccinations, and why we must all continue to be vigilant until Covid is gone for good.

Finally, Michael warns of the three major problems with the Biden administration this week: bombing Syria, going soft on the minimum wage increase and giving Saudi Crown Prince MBS a free pass after ordering the killing of a Washington Post journalist.

Ep. 167: The Middle Of The Road Is Deadly (feat. Rick Perlstein)

The violent, insurrectionist, January 6th mob attempting to overturn the election results are part of a long line of a reactionary and white supremacist elements within American politics who will resort to violence or chicanery when they don't get their way electorally. They are now at the center of the Republican party and we will have to deal with their undemocratic impulses and threats of violence as a regular feature of our politics unless we do something about it now. Historian Rick Perlstein has brilliantly documented the modern conservative movement, and he joins Michael to discuss January 6th and its aftermath, positive early moves by the Biden administration, and the ugly legacy of Rush Limbaugh that contributed to today's violent, undemocratic and dangerous Republican party.

Ep. 166: Idiot Wind

Between the stupid disaster occurring in Texas to the continuing stupid rampage of Covid-19 to the death of S. Rush Limbaugh, it's been a banner week for enforced ignorance and prideful stupidity in America. Michael Moore makes the connection between the unique strain of American idiocy, the never-ending addiction to the myths about the "free market" and privatization, and one of the loudest and most destructive voices in the country with his legacy of ignorance, hate, fear and violence he leaves behind. Ep. 163: RUMBLE LIVE -- When The President Incites, You Must Indict

On Day 3 of the second impeachment trial of Donald Trump, the Democratic impeachment managers unveiled stunning and maddening video proof of the violent, insurrectionist mob being instigated by Trump and showing their lethal and deadly actions and intentions. Footage we've never seen before of Senators running for their lives was among the evidence that showed how the January 6th, 2021 was even worse than we thought.

Michael Moore reflects on today's stunning testimony. The Senate must convict this thuggish sociopath and forbid him for running for office again, and any Republican member of congress who voted in favor of the insurrectionists must be shunned, shamed, defeated and removed.

Ep. 162: How To Make 2021 The Year Of The Equal Rights Amendment (w/ Rep. Jackie Speier)

After first being drafted in 1923 by two leaders of the women’s suffrage movement and then finally being passed by Congress in 1972, the century-long struggle to have the Equal Rights Amendment ratified and gender-equality enshrined in the U.S. Constitution is finally on the brink of succeeding. That's because in 2020, the state of Virginia became the 38th state to ratify the E.R.A. matching the two-thirds threshold needed to ratify a constitutional amendment. However, an arbitrary 7-year time limit on the 1972 legislation has provided one final hurdle that advocates for women's equality must overcome.

Rep. Jackie Speier of California has been leading the charge in Congress on the E.R.A. since she got there in 2013. The day after Joe Biden and Kamala Harris were inaugurated, Rep. Speier reintroduced this bill to remove the arbitrary time limit and put the E.R.A. on the path to ratification. She joins Michael to discuss the roadmap for what we all need to do to make equal rights for women a reality.

We are in an age of mass confusion, political instability, and social distrust. Even within many families, there's a sense that we are living on different planets, with different realities, competing sets of facts, and values and beliefs that directly contradict one another. So how do we, as a species, go about living together when we don't trust, don't like and even feel mortally threatened by one another?

Viggo Mortensen is one of the most talented, dynamic and versatile actors of our time. He has written, directed and stars in a new film that captures this tension within a family, and beautifully depicts their attempts at surviving one another in these tense times. He joins Michael to discuss his directorial debut, these turbulent times we are experiencing, art during the pandemic, living in Spain, the Lord of the Rings trilogy, and when he first learned that he would die one day.

Ep. 160: What Would FDR Do? (w/ H.W. Brands)

When President Biden moved into the White House, one of the changes to the Oval Office included removing a massive portrait of President Andrew Jackson and replacing it with a portrait of President Franklin D. Roosevelt. In the weeks leading up to being sworn in, Biden and his team studied biographies of Roosevelt in the hopes of emulating the bold, heavy-handed use of the federal government to help solve monumental crises. One of these great biographies is "Traitor to His Class: The Privileged Life and Radical Presidency of Franklin Delano Roosevelt," which was written by historian H.W. Brands. Michael is joined by Brands to discuss how and why Roosevelt succeeded and what Biden must do to achieve similar success.

Michael also shares his thoughts on Congresswoman Alexandra Ocasio-Cortez's IG Live about the threats to her life during the January 6th mob violence and includes the audio from AOC's message.

Ep. 159: Send The Troops To Kalamazoo and Other Ideas

100,000 Americans have died since New Year's Day due to the coronavirus. The decades-long planned bombardment of the federal government, started by Ronald Reagan and completed by Donald Trump, has left us with a feckless, confused, and backwards response to the Covid-19 pandemic. Fortunately, we have a new, Democratic administration trying to fix this mess, but Michael Moore has an even bolder idea: A World War II-level aggressive American government action needed to prevent hundreds of thousands of more unnecessary deaths in the coming months. Mike also shares his surprising early impressions of the first weeks of the Biden/Harris administration.

Ep. 158: Kill (The Filibuster) or Be Killed (feat. Adam Jentleson)

The Democrats are now in control of the White House, and have majorities in the House and the Senate and have several massive emergencies they were elected to deal with. However, as Republicans made clear when Obama was President, and with the GOP turning even more nefarious since then, they will ruthlessly try to stymie the Biden administration no matter what they try and accomplish. Their best instrument to undercut democracy from working is Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell and the cynical use of the threat of a filibuster. Will Americans (and the Democratic party) really let a misused legislative tactic prevent the government from making any progress on Covid, the economy, health care or anything else? Michael is joined by Adam Jentleson, a former top aide to Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, who has written a book about the undemocratic U.S. Senate and the need to kill the filibuster for the sake of democracy.

Mike recounts that night in D.C., on the brink of Trump's presidency (and Women's March the following day) and also shares new thoughts on how, four years later, in a militarized "Green Zone" in our nation's Capital, Joe Biden and Kamala Harris take the reigns of a beaten and bruised nation, but one full of promise.

Ep. 156: RUMBLE LIVE - Need A Domestic Terrorist? Dial 9-1-1

As we've now learned of the proliferation of military and police who helped organize and who participated in the insurrection, the people Biden and Harris must actually fear are the ones wearing guns, camo and a badge.

Take down the fences and send home the National Guard. The terrorists are not coming from the outside. The real terrorists are already inside the house (and the House!). January 6th was their horror movie version of calling from somewhere downstairs. Michael Moore shares his latest thinking on the ongoing terrorist threat from the American right-wing, how the white supremacist infiltration of law enforcement and the military poses our biggest challenge, why the white, patriarchal society's perceived losing of power will motive their anger and hate for a long time, and why Biden-Harris must stick to their plans to hold the inauguration on the Capitol steps.

Ep. 155: Rick Snyder's Crimes Against Humanity (feat. Jordan Chariton)

After more than six years of no accountability for former Michigan Governor Rick Snyder for his actions leading to the poisoning of the city of Flint, Snyder was arraigned on Wednesday for two counts of willful neglect of duty. He is the first of Michigan’s 49 governors in 184 years to face charges related to their time in office. If convicted, he could face up to one year in jail and up to $1,000 in fines. Snyder is among nine senior officials who are facing a total of 42 criminal charges for their actions that caused a deadly Legionnaires’ disease outbreak in Genesee County, and caused permanent, irreversible brain damage due to lead poisoning to thousands of Flint children.

Michael is joined by investigative journalist Jordan Chariton who had doggedly reported on the plight of the people of Flint and the wide-ranging cover-up by Snyder and his henchman. They discuss why it's taken this long for any sort of legal action to be taken against Snyder, why his misdemeanor charge is not enough, and what we must do now.

Ep. 154: How To Stop The Coup Klux Klan (feat. Daryl Johnson)

They knew. The government knew and law enforcement knew that what took place on January 6th, 2021 was not an isolated incident or a total surprise. Not only were right-wing organizations, led by Donald Trump, planning this attack out in the open, but as far back as 2009 a Department of Homeland Security threat assessment warned of the growing right-wing domestic terror threat within America. Rather than heed the warning, the author of the post was attacked by the right-wing, the Obama administration was forced to retract the report, and everyone who worked on it was eventually out of their jobs.

The author of the report was a former DHS analyst named Daryl Johnson, who joins Michael to discuss the rising terror threat from within, why it won't end anytime soon, how Trump "poured fuel on an already burning fire," and what we all must do to defend ourselves and protect humanity.

Plus, Mike shares his thoughts on Impeachment Day #2, the awful press conference held by the Department of Justice and FBI, and the long overdue news that charges will soon be filed against former Michigan Governor Rick Snyder and his associates for the poisoning of the water and the children of Flint, Michigan.

Flint, Michigan Democratic Congressman Dan Kildee has been friends with Michael Moore since they were both teenagers. Throughout the terrorist attack on the Capitol yesterday, he was in frequent contact with Michael about what was transpiring. He joins Michael on Rumble to describe how it felt to not know if he would live or die as he was trapped inside the House chamber, why Members of Congress told family and staff to not show up at the Capitol yesterday, how law enforcement failed to protect them, and why Trump must be removed so he doesn't do more damage in his final 13 days in office. Rep. Kildee also described walking through the damaged and ransacked Capitol building, his disgust with his House and Senate colleagues for aiding and abetting the terror attack, and how white men with American and Confederate flags can literally get away with treason.

Ep. 150: The Godfather Don Trumpleone

Our SECOND SEASON of RUMBLE begins today!

Donald Trump is a thug, a gangster, and a menace to society. His latest crime might be his most shameless: on a call with Georgia's Secretary of State this Saturday, Trump pushed, threatened, cajoled, and begged the State of Georgia to give him more than 11,000 votes in order to overtake Joe Biden in the State's election count in the hopes of overturning the election. In this episode of Rumble, Michael shares the full, raw, unedited hour long audio recording of Trump, along with his Chief of Staff Mark Meadows and two lawyers, using mafia boss-tactics on his call with Brad Raffensperger, Georgia’s secretary of state, and his office’s general counsel, Ryan Germany. Warner's suicide bombing in Nashville, Tennessee and Army Green Beret Duke Webb's shooting and killing of three people at a bowling alley in Rockford, Illinois. Mike also addresses the Wounded Knee Massacre which occurred 130 years ago today, part of America's genocide of the native inhabitants, and the beginning of a long line of violence which continues today. Ep. 146: No Coup For You! (feat. Ruth Ben-Ghiat)

As Donald Trump's attempts to steal the election in the courts continue to falter, and as his legal team humiliates themselves at every turn, are we becoming too content in laughing it off and too comfortable in thinking our institutions are now stable? Historian and author Ruth Ben-Ghiat appeared in Michael Moore's "Fahrenheit 11/9" to help warn of the fascist threat posed by Trump, and she joins Michael now to share her most recent ideas about the danger we are currently in and how leaders like Trump help us become our worst selves. She's written a new book looking back at fascists from Mussolini to the present day and finds many similarities between these leaders' use of propaganda, their endorsements of violence, and their projection of virility and masculinity to appeal to male and female supporters alike.

Ep. 145: Only In The Darkness Can You See The Stars (feat. Marc Lamont Hill)

The year 2020 has featured a series of monumental events: a once-in-a-century pandemic, historic protests in the aftermath of more police killings of Black Americans and a Donald Trump presidency and re-election campaign. In this time of massive unrest, despair, and darkness, might we be on the verge of something profound, positive and hopeful? Marc Lamont Hill is a scholar, author and activist, and he joins Michael to discuss the necessity and possibility for radical change in America, Marc's bout with COVID-19, and his unceremonious firing from CNN for daring to speak out for Palestinian human rights.

Ep. 144: Cinema Saves The World

Warner Bros. (which is now owned by AT&T, which also owns CNN, HBO, the Turner Networks, etc.) announced this week that all of it's 2021 films will be streamed immediately on it's new HBO Max streaming platform, bypassing the usual "window" that movie theaters get to run films first. While streaming all films is obviously necessary during the pandemic, this move is rightfully being interpreted as a death blow to movie theaters that movie studios (particularly ones owned by wireless phones companies) have been inevitably heading towards regardless of COVID-19.

What is AT&T/Warner Bros. trying to accomplish with this move? What might it mean for the future of our streaming bills (and internet bills and phones bills)? And what does this mean for the future of movies?

Michael Moore, whose debut film "Roger & Me" was distributed by Warner Bros. in 1989, and who runs two non-profit movie theaters in Traverse City, Michigan, shares his thoughts on this latest blow to the art of cinema.

Ep. 143: What's The Matter With Populism? (feat. Thomas Frank)

Thomas Frank is a historian and author behind classic books such as "What's that Matter With Kansas?" and "Listen, Liberal." His work has exposed the cynicism and corruption behind the conservative movement and Republican party, the cataclysmic failures of the liberal establishment and the Democratic party, along with the corporate elite that they all serve. He joins Michael to discuss the necessary defeat of Trump, what to expect from the Democrats, and how our only hope for real, positive change is through mass, democratic, citizen-led movements and not through the current political system or the Democratic party. The people must lead the politicians, not the other way around.

Recent Thomas Frank articles:

We need to reclaim populism from the right. It has a long, proud leftwing history
‘Populist’ has become shorthand for racist authoritarianism. But the first populists were progressive labor activists who fought for democracy

Michael Moore extends a hand to the 73 million Americans who voted for four more years of Donald Trump with a simple, heartfelt message - "I don't want you to die." As the COVID-19 pandemic rages and reaches its most deadly period, and with a vaccine on the horizon, Mike begs those who disagree with him politically to literally live to fight another day. Please don't become another COVID statistic. Don't give up. Don't give in. Let's unite behind ending this pandemic so we can go back to fighting each other (non-violently) in the battle of ideas.

If Democrats are able to win the two Senate races in Georgia on January 5th, they will have control over the Presidency, the House and the Senate after Joe Biden is sworn in on January 20th. What can America accomplish with unified Democratic control of the Executive and Legislative branches in Washington? To get a picture of what that can look like, America can look to California for inspiration.

California congressman Ro Khanna joins Michael to first explain what progressive, positive change has become reality in California due to Democrats controlling all levers of power in the state for the past several years. Then, they discuss what Democrats can get done in Washington if Democrats are able to take control of the Senate after the special elections in Georgia.

In the aftermath of Max Blumenthal's explosive investigative piece about the green billionaires and their allies who tried to suppress "Planet of the Humans," Michael Moore welcomes back director Jeff Gibbs and producer Ozzie Zehner for their first reactions to this bombshell report. They also discuss why we have been unable to cut our reliance on fossil fuels, how economic growth is killing us, and why climate change is a negative symptom of a larger environmental crisis that we've been failing to address with a holistic approach due to our society's addiction to the profit motive. Additionally, they discuss how a Biden administration should address our planetary emergency, how to improve and expand upon the current Green New Deals that have been proposed and why growth, consumption and capitalism are at the heart of the “climate” problem.

Is this it? If we succeed, what then with our new neoliberal president? We must make the most of these three intense days ahead. Who will help us? Who will intercede? Ep. 134: How To Legally Double Or Triple Your Vote

Michael Moore shares some good news and some bad news. First, the bad: you CANNOT mail your ballot in anymore. It's too late. The Trump administration's sabotage of the postal service, and the potential for the courts to not allow counting ballots that arrive after November 3rd makes it too risky. If you have a mail-in or absentee ballot, you MUST drop it off in-person or vote on election day.

But there's some good news: following yesterday's episode, more Rumble listeners are finding out how easy it is to double (or triple!) their votes. It's simple!

Michael also shares some of your emails and voicemails responding to his question of what we will do if the Republicans steal the election.

Ep. 133: A Hard Rain’s a-Gonna Fall

With less than a week from Judgement Day, Michael Moore shares his raw, anxiety-filled thoughts about where the country stands now. Record numbers of absentee ballots have been requested, record numbers of Americans have voted early, while Trump and McConnell have just rammed through another arch-conservative to the most powerful weapon in the Republican party arsenal -- the Supreme Court.

Trump, his Justice Department, Republican operatives throughout the country, and his partisan backers on the Supreme Court are all openly flexing their anti-democratic muscles and preparing to steal the election by any means necessary. From blowing up the U.S. Postal Service to slowing the mail down, to shutting down polling locations, to this week's Supreme Court ruling that mailed-in ballots in Wisconsin that arrive after November 3rd due to the slow mail will not be counted, their quest for power has no limits.

The prospect of the Democrats overwhelmingly winning the popular vote, but Republicans claiming an Electoral College victory after months of voter suppression, threats of violence and legal challenges, is all too real. So while we have rightfully been wondering for years what would happen if Trump refused to accept the election results, the most important question might actually be -- will WE accept the election results after THEY steal it????

Ep. 129: Supreme Nightmare -- When Abortion Wasn't Legal

With the Republicans prepared to take full control of the Supreme Court with a 6-3 majority if Amy Coney Barrett is confirmed, Roe V. Wade and the right to a legal abortion is in serious jeopardy. What would this horrific rollback of women's rights and reproductive rights do to American society and to the health of millions of American women?

In this special episode, Michael shares a personal story from 1971, when a close friend of his had an unplanned pregnancy in their home state of Michigan, where abortion was illegal. He recounts their plan to drive to Buffalo, since New York was one of the first states to allow women to have this medical procedure legally. This true story originally appeared in Mike's autobiographical book of short stories, "Here Comes Trouble: Stories From My Life" and he shares it here on Rumble as a lesson for what may be coming back to America.

Investigative journalist and best-selling author Max Blumenthal recently published an explosive 8,000-word investigation on the "green" billionaires, Wall Street investors, industry insiders and family foundations' coordinated suppression campaign against the film "Planet of the Humans." The film, Directed by Jeff Gibbs and Executive Produced by Michael Moore, has now reached over 12 million viewers on YouTube, but was the subject of a campaign that civil liberties group PEN America twice rebuked as "censorship." Blumenthal joins Michael to discuss why he turned his attention to this issue, what he learned about the billionaire financial backers and family foundations that underpin elements of the environmental movement, and how some environmental groups now serve to "greenwash" the reputations of large corporations that make cosmetic changes while still ruining the planet.

Ep. 127: The Terrorists Next Door

Earlier this week, the government announced the arrest of 13 men from Michigan who plotted to kidnap and do harm to Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer, a woman, a Democrat and a regular foil to Donald Trump. Among their grievances was Governor Whitmer's level-headed and prudent handling of the pandemic, which included mask-wearing and temporary shutdowns of businesses and schools. Michael Moore has been covering these "Michigan Militia" types for a long time, beginning with a 1979 radio interview of the Grand Dragon of the Michigan Ku Klux Klan and including a few on-camera interviews over the past few decades (see below). However, he's never seen them have an ally and leader in the White House. In this episode, Michael shares his thoughts on this new generation of homegrown, caucasian, Michigan terrorists and how the stakes have been raised when it comes to removing their leader from the White House in a few weeks.

Additionally, Mike shares his thoughts on how Donald Trump is drowning, and what his Eagle Scout training taught him about how we should deal with him.

Kristin Urquiza's father Mark was one of the more than 200,000 Americans to die from COVID-19. He was a Trump supporter who was led to believe that he was safe from the virus because of President Trump, Arizona Governor Doug Ducey and Fox News downplaying the risks. Since his passing, Kristin has dedicated herself to keeping the memory of all COVID-19 victims alive, sharing accurate public information about the pandemic, and never letting anyone forget about the mismanagement and misinformation from Trump and his enablers that have led to all of these preventable deaths.

Kristin was invited by the Biden family to be their guest at the 1st Presidential debate in Cleveland, and she joins Michael to discuss what it was like seeing her father's killer on stage 15 feet away from her, how she must now get tested because of Trump's reckless behavior and her non-profit organization's upcoming actions to remember those lost during this pandemic.

Ep. 123: "A Modern Day D-Day On November 3rd" (feat. Jeff Daniels)

One of the central figures in American history that will forever be tied to Donald Trump winning the 2016 election and Trump's corrupt and chaotic time in the White House, is former FBI Director James Comey. His story will now be memorialized in a Showtime two-part series called "The Comey Rule," starring Jeff Daniels as Comey. Daniels, one of American's most beloved and versatile actors, joins Michael to discuss why he decided to play Comey, why they had to fight to get this on the air before election day and how America is facing a "modern day D-Day on November 3rd." They also discuss their home state of Michigan, Daniels' role of a lifetime as Atticus Finch in the Aaron Sorkin adaptation of "To Kill A Mockingbird" on Broadway and whether the cinematic experience can make a comeback after the pandemic.

Also, Michael shares his latest thoughts on what transpired this week, the Supreme Court battle ahead of us, the importance of checking your voter registration status and the electoral tsunami that is brewing.

Ep. 119: EMERGENCY PODCAST SYSTEM — 9/11 or... Only the Confederate Army Has Killed More Americans Than Donald J. Trump

Trump bragged to Bob Woodward “I saved his ass!” — referring to how he, Trump, protected the Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia after the Prince had a columnist for the Washington Post murdered.  Hearing this on the anniversary of 15 Saudi hijackers who murdered 2,977 people in NYC, DC and PA is chilling. And a reminder to Michael Moore and the rest of us that during these next 50+ days we are in a state of emergency. None of us are safe. Trump truly is, as Mary Trump says, the most dangerous man in America.

Trump was warned as early as January by his National Security Advisor that Covid-19 is “the greatest national security threat”. He responded by telling the American people that the virus was a hoax - when he knew it wasn’t. He then knowingly allowed 200,000 Americans to die. That’s sixty-seven 9/11s. Trump is a mass killer.

Listen in on Mike’s intense, powerful assault on the madman in the White House.

Ep. 118: Class Dismissed, Pandemic Edition (feat. Teachers Dawn Nummer & Paul Prescod)

One of the biggest disasters caused by the lack of national leadership on the Coronavirus pandemic is the confusion, anxiety, and unbearable stress now felt by millions of parents, students and teachers. With the school year upon us, it's clear there was no national plan. Michael is joined by two public school teachers, Dawn Nummer in Tampa and Paul Prescod in Philadelphia, to share constructive ideas and describe the challenges they are now facing. Dawn, who has a son with severe asthma, is being put in a position to choose between being forced to go teach in school and placing her high-risk son's life in jeopardy, or losing her job. Paul shares some thoughts on what the recent teacher strikes in states such as West Virginia, Kentucky and Arizona could mean for how teachers organize in the midst of the pandemic.

Ep. 117: Donald Trump's Crimes Against Humanity (feat. Jacob Soboroff)

America has not come to grips with, nor atoned for the cruel and inhumane policies carried out at the U.S.-Mexico border or at the migrant detention facilities. It was one of the most gruesome policies carried out by the Trump administration, but the groundwork for his treatment of migrants was laid by previous administrations. Jacob Soboroff was one of the first journalists to gain access to the horrible migrant detention facilities on the U.S.-Mexico border for NBC News and MSNBC. His reports from the border shocked the country and helped force the Trump administration to reverse course on child separation. He joins Michael Moore to share his new reporting and discuss what must be done to fix this crime against humanity come January 20, 2021.

Ep. 116: Biden To Flint — "F*ck You" (feat. Melissa Mays)

Michigan's former Republican Governor Rick Snyder is the man most responsible for poisoning Flint's residents and then covering up and allowing the poisoning to persist. He has permanently damaged people's lives by exposing them to lead poisoning, ruining their homes due to lead in the pipes, and causing misery and pain that will sadly last for generations. He should be in prison. Instead, he just endorsed Joe Biden's campaign, and the campaign touted Snyder's endorsement in a press release.

Was this a dirty trick by the Trump campaign to get Michiganders to stay home and not vote Biden? Why else would the Biden campaign insult the voters of Flint and tell them their votes don't matter?

Michael Moore is joined by Melissa Mays, a Flint resident, mother and activist who has been at the forefront of the effort to bring justice, dignity and clean water to Flint, to discuss how the hell the Biden campaign could have done this and what Biden must do to make amends.

Ep. 115: "The Era of American Democracy Will Be Over" (feat. David Plouffe)

David Plouffe served as Barack Obama's campaign manager during his historic race for the presidency in 2007-2008. With Plouffe's guidance, Obama was able to topple the Clinton machine in the Democratic primary, then win an historic 69 million votes in the general election, carrying red states such as Indiana and North Carolina, to go along with swing states such as Florida and Ohio. An African-American candidate, running in the midst of the Iraq war, with the middle name of Hussein, and being called a socialist, marxist and even a domestic terrorist by the Republicans and Fox News throughout the campaign...and they won in a landslide.

Plouffe joins Michael Moore to assess the state of the race, describe why President Obama's DNC speech purposely left people "rattled" and "alarmed,"and how Trump is "a bigger threat to the union than southern leaders were in the 1820's." He also explains why a President Biden is likely to "swing for the fences" while in office, why progressives should be more encouraged about what a Biden presidency can do on climate change using Executive Orders, and why Biden's personal decency actually matters.

Plus, Mike announces the 15th million Rumble listener and shares his thoughts on the death of Chadwick Boseman.

Ep. 114: From Kenosha To Holyoke And Back (feat. Malaika Jabali & Mayor Alex Morse)

Segment #1: "Do Not Kill Me If I've Given You No Reason To" (feat. Malaika Jabali in Kenosha)

Michael is joined by journalist and activist Malaika Jabali to discuss the police shooting of Jacob Blake in Kenosha, Wisconsin, the rebellion taking place there now, and the white 17 year-old Trump supporter who gunned down two protestors with an AK-47 in the middle of the protests. They discuss the underlying issues of race, class and power that underpin why Blake is now paralyzed and why the rebellion has erupted so forcefully.

[52:40] Segment #2 : Alex Morse for Congress (feat. Mayor Alex Morse)

Alex Morse is the 31 year-old, openly gay Mayor of Holyoke, Massachusetts and is seeking to become the next insurgent Democrat to knock off one of the most powerful and corrupt members of the U.S House, Richard Neal. Morse has been the victim of a shameful and homophobic political smear job that has since been linked back to supporters of Neal. Ep. 113: I'm Voting For Joe Biden Because I Don't Believe Him

On June 18th, 2019, at a high-end campaign fundraiser on Manhattan's Upper East Side, Joe Biden tried to win over wealthy donors and top bankers by assuring them that "nothing would fundamentally change" under a Biden presidency. He was reinforcing the idea that he's the moderate, status quo candidate that would not rock the boat or challenge the power of the 1% while in the White House.

Nothing would fundamentally change???

In this episode of Rumble, Michael Moore unravels the fallacy of Biden's thinking and shares his ideas for why everyone must stay involved in the fight for this election and beyond. First of all, EVERYTHING has fundamentally changed. The pandemic has exposed the cruel and unsustainable economic, health care and political systems in America. Nothing will ever be the same again. And the police murder of George Floyd has once again exposed racial inequality and the plight of Black Americans, and has sparked a rebellion that is the largest protest movement in American history. There is no turning back.

Biden and Harris will be inheriting a failed state on January 20, 2021, and milquetoast, moderate half-measures will not come nearly close to meeting the demands of the people and the demands of the moment. With a failing economy, a failing healthcare system, the political winds shifting left, and a strong and growing Squad in Congress, Biden and Harris can be forced to make bigger, bolder and more progressive changes than they were planning. History, political reality, emergencies and the fired up and organized political left can be and must be a force in this election and on the day Biden/Harris are sworn in.

For anyone  despairing, depressed,  or pessimistic about the future of the country, about the fact that Trump is President, or that we are being asked to settle for Biden as our only way forward, this episode is for you.

Ep. 112: On The Front Lines With Linda Sarsour (feat. Linda Sarsour)

Linda Sarsour is an organizer and activist who has been on the frontlines of every major battle against creeping fascism, the Trump administration, state violence, and attacks on all marginalized communities. Along with Tamika Mallory, Carmen Perez and Bob Bland, she organized the Women's March in Washington D.C. on January 21, 2017, the largest protest in American history. Since then, she has been fighting the administration on it's Muslim ban, on criminal justice reform, along with her continued advocacy for Arab and Muslim Americans and for the Palestinian people.

She joins Michael discuss the urgent need to remove Trump from office, how Democrats should (and should not) bring out Muslim and Arab voters in key swing states such as Michigan, Wisconsin, Pennsylvania, Ohio, Texas and Florida, and her decision to move to Louisville, Kentucky in the middle of a pandemic to fight for justice for Breonna Taylor.

As the Democrats turn half of their convention over to conservative Democrats and Republicans, and as they harp on symbolism and personal attributes of candidates over policies or plans to actually help Americans, Michael is joined by Briahna Joy Gray to discuss what Biden and the Democrats should be doing to reach people on the fence about voting and what progressives must do to hold the Democrats' feet to the fire. They also discuss why "vote blue no matter who" might actually hurt the party's chances of winning along with the anti-progressive bias in cable news.

Ep. 109: The Radical Left-Wing Anarchist Mob for Biden-Harris

One of Donald Trump's attacks on Joe Biden is that he is not actually running the Democratic party or even his own Presidential campaign. Instead, Trump claims, Biden is being controlled by "the left-wing mob," by "socialists" or "antifa" or "anarchists" or "the squad." So Trump has a higher opinion of the power of the left than we have of ourselves! This is the third part of a series of EMERGENCY PODCAST SYSTEM Rumble episodes on Trump's war on Portland. In this episode, we will hear from a longtime Black Lives Matter activist and the founder of "Don't Shoot Portland," Teressa Raiford. Long before the recent uprising, Teressa has been at the forefront of the resistance against state power and fighting for the liberation of Black Americans. She joins Michael to discuss how the unsolved shooting of her nephew sparked her activism, why auditing the police and other government agencies is so important, and the underlying, systemic racism that is at the heart of why we must resist. She also has no respect for Portland’s mayor and she’s worn out listening to white people wanting to help with the “gang problem.”

From the Portland Mercury:

Eighteen percent. That’s how many police officers in the Portland Police Bureau (PPB) actually live in the city they’re sworn to protect. According to city data obtained by the Mercury in a public records request, only 158 of the bureau’s 864 sworn officers live at an address with a ZIP code that falls within Portland city limits. And that’s actually a generous estimate—some PPB officers live in ZIP codes that straddle several city boundaries...More PPB officers live in Washington state (177 total) than in Portland proper.

Ep. 101: EMERGENCY PODCAST SYSTEM — Donald Trump's Police State, Part 1

What happens when a neo-fascist President and his thuggish Attorney General send armed federal agents and combat troops to one of the most progressive, politically active and creative American cities? We're watching it take place in Portland, Oregon: citizens using leaf blowers to successfully redirect tear gas back at the Feds; a Wall of Moms "dressed like they're going to Target" and wearing bike helmets, putting their bodies on the line to protect the protestors; a "Naked Athena" sitting nude in the middle of the street, doing a yoga pose in a show of power and defiance against confused, scared, armed federal gunmen. In the middle of it all have been courageous journalists, some of them teenagers, documenting this story for the rest of us and giving us a preview of what is coming to the rest of our cities. One of them, 17-year old Garrison Davis, joins Michael to discuss what the last 50+ days of resistance have been like, the night he first saw an unmarked federal van snatching a citizen off the street, and how Portland is a dry run for what Trump and Barr are planning on doing all around the country in advance of the election.

Ep. 100: Meet My Cousin, The President

During an episode of “Finding Your Roots” on PBS with Henry Louis Gates Jr., a search through Michael’s family history unearthed a shocking revelation: Michael Moore is related to America’s 31st President, 1929-1933, Republican Herbert Hoover.

After grappling with the fact (and the irony) that the Franklin Delano Roosevelt-loving, Democratic party-supporting Moore family was actually related to FDR’s Republican predecessor, Michael decided to search deeper into his roots during a trip earlier this year to Hoover’s home state of Iowa.

This episode was recorded at the Herbert Hoover Presidential Library, Museum and birthplace in West Branch, Iowa. After touring the museum, Michael sat down with three archivists, Craig Wright, Elizabeth Dinschel and Lynn Smith, to learn more about Hoover and the Great Depression, Hoover’s ill-fated presidency, and his Quaker roots. Michael struggles over whether he wants to go public about his connection with Hoover, but then realizes there may be some perks if a President was your cousin. Michael asks if he can crash on the Hoover couch for the night, seeing how, you know, he’s family.

He has been serving the American public blunt truths about the coronavirus pandemic from the very beginning, and he shares some frightening new assessments about where we might soon land: One million new cases EVERY DAY — and 800,000 to 1.5 million of us DEAD by November if we don't get our act together yesterday. He and Michael have an animated discussion about how Trump's America screwed up the response to Covid-19, how Joe Biden could actually just start leading the real pandemic response we need NOW (and from his basement!) which would save tens of thousands of lives, and finally Dr. Redlener gets Michael to promise to personally call  Vice President Biden and tell him what he just told his podcast audience. Since the beginning of the Coronavirus pandemic, Pulitzer Prize-winning science writer Laurie Garrett has been the most blunt and forthright analyst warning the public about how destructive the virus will be. She has been sounding the alarm on our lack of preparedness for a pandemic since her 1994 book, "The Coming Plague." Her warnings were not heeded. The United States has now bungled it's response and we are hitting record-high numbers of new cases. She joins Michael for a discussion about all aspects of the pandemic, including the disastrous decisions by President Trump and President Xi, what myths have persisted about the virus, whether schools might open in the fall, why the economic impact has not yet reached bottom, and the social and psychological effects we will be dealing with for many years. We need to hear the unvarnished truth if we are going to find our way out of this. Garrett says we should call this what it is, a plague, and she offers a way out should anyone want to listen.

We are in the middle of a perfect storm of white supremacy, fascism, a police killing spree, an uprising against it, the Coronavirus pandemic, and a mad genius who will be willing to fake his own vaccine shot just to get re-elected in an election he has no intention of holding. Ep. 93: Juneteenth (feat. Congresswoman Barbara Lee, D-CA, The granddaughter of a slave)

Two and a half years after President Abraham Lincoln's Emancipation Proclamation was supposed to have freed the slaves, news of the war ending — and that Lincoln had freed the slaves back in 1863 — finally made it to Galveston, Texas, on June 19th, 1965. So Texas, against its will, finally re-joined the rest of the Union, all slaves were freed and Juneteenth is now the holiday truly commemorating the freeing of all the slaves in America. Congresswoman Barbara Lee's grandfather was born a slave in Galveston post-Emancipation Proclamation, but weeks before Juneteenth, making this commemoration especially meaningful to Rep. Lee and her family.

On this 155th commemoration of Juneteenth, Rep. Lee joins Michael to discuss the never-ending struggle for freedom for Black Americans and her courageous, lone vote against a never-ending war, 3 days after 9/11.

Juneteenth is the oldest nationally celebrated commemoration of the ending of slavery in the United States.  Dating back to 1865, it was on June 19th that the Union soldiers, led by Major General Gordon Granger, landed at Galveston, Texas with news that the war had ended and that the enslaved were now free. The Emancipation Proclamation of 1863 had had little impact on the Texans due to the minimal number of Union troops to enforce the new Executive Order. However, with the surrender of General Lee in April of 1865, and the arrival of General Granger’s regiment, the forces were finally strong enough to influence and overcome the resistance of the white racist slave owners and the poor white population willing to die for those rich racist bastards. Crazy!

Texas today is no longer a “white state.” 58% of its population is now made up of Black, Hispanic, Asian and other people of color.

Ep. 91 Good News: LGBT Victory! Bad News: Executed for Dozing While Black

In some much needed great news, the conservative U.S. Supreme Court, with the majority opinion written by Trump appointed Justice Neil Gorsuch, ruled today to protect the rights of LGBTQ Americans in the workplace and prevent them from being discriminated against. This followed the terrible news this weekend of the death of Rayshard Brooks, another Black American man killed while running away from police after committing the crime of falling asleep at a Wendy's drive-thru window in Atlanta. Michael Moore shares his thoughts on these two major stories, plus his reaction to Trump tweeting at him again.

Ep. 90: No More Police State (feat. Alex S. Vitale)

The idea of police "reform" has been tried and has failed. Rather than call for milquetoast reforms that leave the structure of U.S. law enforcement in place, many of the protestors are calling to "defund the police." Michael is joined by Alex S. Vitale, author of "The End of Policing" to explain what this means, how this works, any why settling for half-measures will result in more police violence against Black Americans.

Ep. 89: The Floyd Rebellion

Weeks after rebellions have sprung up across America in the wake of the police killing George Floyd, small ripples of change keep occurring, including in popular culture. The show "Cops," which has perpetuated racist stereotypes of Black Americans for three decades, was finally cancelled, and Nascar just announced they were forbidding the Confederate flag from being displayed at their events. Michael Moore shares his thoughts on what these actions mean, and what everyone (especially white people) must do to end white supremacy rather than settle for small symbolic changes.

It was written by Emily Mann,  playwright, artistic director and inductee to the American Theater Hall Fame. Michael Moore announced today that he is releasing a brand new documentary film and is offering it as a gift, free of charge, in the midst of the global pandemic. Planet of the Humans, a documentary that dares to say what no one else will this Earth Day — that we are losing the battle to stop climate change on planet earth because we are following leaders who have taken us down the wrong road — selling out the green movement to wealthy interests and corporate America. This film is the wake-up call to the reality we are afraid to face: that in the midst of a human-caused extinction event, the environmental movement’s answer is to push for techno-fixes and band-aids. Ep. 69: Your Beloved Private Health Insurance (feat. Wendell Potter)

When Michael Moore made the Oscar-nominated film SiCKO about America's health care system, Wendell Potter was a Vice President and "chief propagandist" at health insurance giant Cigna. He and his colleagues devised a plan to "push Michael Moore off a cliff" due to fear that the film would expose the corruption of their industry. Potter's role was to fly to Michigan, infiltrate the premiere of the film, and and spy on and discredit Moore.

Not long after watching the film, Potter experienced a crisis of conscience and could no longer continue lying on behalf of America's health insurers. He became a whistleblower, spilled the beans about how his former business operates and is now a vocal advocate for a true, government-backed, universal health care system in America.

He joins Michael to recount their bizarre first meeting, expose the lie that Americans love their private health insurance and figure out health care in America post-coronavirus pandemic.

Ep. 62: EMERGENCY PODCAST SYSTEM — He's Gonna Get Us Killed

New York is days away from the massive manslaughter of thousands of innocent souls whose only crime was to be living in the time of Trump. Instead of a few hundred that might have otherwise died from an errant virus, thousands are now at death’s door because the profit motive is keeping the gear they desperately need away from them. And because we’ve now learned that the President chose to do little or nothing to help — initially blaming the “hoax” on the Democrats and the media, and then being clueless as to how to order, gather and ship the needed materials. As of this posting, nearly three 9/11’s-worth of Americans have died, and many more are about to join them. This time, though, Americans were killed by a different type of terrorist. There will be no memorial built to honor them, no country to invade to avenge their deaths (Mar-a-Lago is not a country).

Michael Moore issues an urgent appeal to his listeners on this special emergency edition of RUMBLE to immediately share their ideas with him as to how we can beat back two monsters at once — the war profiteers and the war president.

Ep. 59: It Is Not Necessary To Hope In Order To Persevere (feat. James K. Galbraith)

What would a Great Depression/World War II-like mobilization of American society look like if we were to attempt to fix our country and society today in the midst of the pandemic? Do we, as Americans, have the will, the ideas, the courage or the leadership to care for the sick, protect the vulnerable, and then, revitalize our economy and fix the ugly aspects of our society that Covid-19 has exposed?

Michael discusses these big issues with James K. Galbraith, a scholar, author and one of the pre-eminent economists of our time. Generations ago, when America faced the fallout of the Great Depression and World War II, James' father, John Kenneth Galbraith was the legendary economic thinker who Roosevelt, Truman and Kennedy turned to help steer America and and re-shape the post-war society.

The U.S. Senate is on the brink of passing a massive corporate giveaway that will be yet another transfer of wealth from the American people to the wealthy. It was described by HuffPost's Zach Carter like this:

"It is not an economic rescue package, but a sentence of unprecedented economic inequality and corporate control over our politics that will resonate for a generation.

It represents a transfer of wealth and power to the super rich from the rest of us, with the support of both political parties ― a damning statement about the condition of American democracy."

Ep. 55: Cash Now (feat. Stephanie Kelton)

The coronavirus pandemic and all of the economic and social crises that it has exposed has politicians of all stripes calling for massive government intervention. And, funny enough, no pundit or politician is whining about how “WE CAN’T AFFORD THIS!” But just as in 2008, corporations and lobbyists are salivating at the opportunity to milk this crisis for as much government money as they can get their hands on. Ep. 54: Don’t Panic. PANIC.

Overnight the hospitals in New York began to drown. ICUs are filling up. There aren’t enough ventilators. Only a few masks are left. Many doctors and nurses already have the virus, and too many are being hospitalized themselves. A woman in Michael’s apartment building tested positive and died. The day we have dreaded is here. If we scramble - if we scream bloody murder - if we act smart, today, might there be a way out? Trump has shut all the doors. Forget for now about beating him in November. A number of us won’t live 'til November. We need to beat him now, beat down those doors he’s blocking, so that a million voters don’t die.

Ep. 53: EMERGENCY PODCAST SYSTEM — The First Million Dead

Michael Moore sounds the alarm like never before. We don’t have days — we have HOURS left to act. Trump’s weeks of inaction and leading the public to believe this virus is “a hoax” will now cost millions of people their lives. Perhaps we can save some of them — but only if everyone who hears this podcast takes action today. Michael exposes the facts that have been kept from the public. He reveals what he’s been told by several public health experts, doctors, government officials and one source who is in frequent and direct contact with President Trump. None of it is pretty. There will be no more school this year — and maybe little or none next year as well. Our hospitals are about to get slammed and overwhelmed on a massive scale. The Army Corps of Engineers must be called up to build dozens of field hospitals. We will not have enough nurses and doctors. The government must nationalize industries to build the ventilators and other equipment we need. This must happen this week. Mike issues a call to action to save lives and for all of us to make serious sacrifices like we never have before.

Ep. 52: O Government, Where Art Thou? (feat. Dr. Abdul El-Sayed)

In a modern, functioning, democratic society, how should a public health crisis be handled? And what would America's response to the coronavirus pandemic look like if we had a universal healthcare system such as Medicare For All? Michael discusses this with Dr. Abdul El-Sayed, a physician and epidemiologist and the former Health Commissioner in the City of Detroit. El-Sayed ran for Governor of Michigan campaigning on universal healthcare. His forthcoming book is titled, "Healing Politics: A Doctor's Journey Into the Heart of Our Political Epidemic."

Michael Moore reveals conversations he's had with public health and security experts, foreign journalists and government officials (plus one source directly in contact with President Trump) to share the awful truth: we may lose multiple times more Americans to coronavirus than the total number of American troops killed in World War II; this is the most serious pandemic since the 1918 flu;  President Trump is actively and purposefully holding up the federal government response and putting millions of lives at risk.

Ep. 50: What They Know About Uncle Joe

There is one reason why Joe Biden has emerged as the Democratic frontrunner - the concept of "electability." While all of the exit polls show that Bernie Sanders' policy ideas are the most popular among voters, Joe Biden is winning races on the strength of his perceived ability to defeat Donald Trump. But is he really the "safe" and "electable" choice?

Michael Moore discusses the major flaws behind this thinking, including revealing conversations he's had with Democratic officials and media insiders.

Ep. 47: The Christopher Nolan/Memento Primary

What if the sun rose on the West? What if, on Tuesday night at 8pm ET, the first Super Tuesday results had been announced from the largest and most diverse state in the country, California?

”Huge win for Bernie Sanders! A huge delegate lead!"

An hour later, in conservative, Mormon, Utah, “the winner is....Bernie Sanders!”

Then Colorado comes next…”another victory for Bernie Sanders! And in a key swing state!”

How we were presented the results on Tuesday night, which has turned this into a two-person race between Joe Biden and Bernie Sanders with only a handful of delegates separating them, has greatly affected the public perception of the race. While Bernie Sanders is now the underdog, it is a close race, and the American people must hear vigorous debates between Biden and Sanders about who they are, what they believe, what their plans are for the country and how they will defeat Trump.

Ep. 46: Super Tuesday Preview, Part 4 - Fight The Power

The corporatist, centrist wing of the Democratic Party has gotten in formation. Joe Biden is their man. The mainstream media is endlessly promoting him and not hiding their bias. Sadly, many of them would rather have Donald Trump in the White House than Bernie Sanders. Michael Moore gives an impassioned plea to everyone who wants to defeat Trump and to defeat the system which gave us Trump to not give in to the failed establishment that handed us Trump in the first place. The future of the county and of humanity depends on it.

Ep. 43: Super Tuesday Preview, Part 1 - Coronavirus Don

Four days until Super Tuesday, Michael lays out the stakes of how important Tuesday's elections are what role coronavirus will play in shaping our views of this election.  We are only as safe as the human being who has no health insurance or access to medical care. A nation that has millions of people who are not insured or are under-insured means that millions of American's are encouraged to NOT seek tests or treatment - which makes the coronavirus that much more dangerous.

Senator Bernie Sanders issued a forceful statement on Friday against Russian attempts to meddle in the 2020 election, as he has done in the past. This came in response to a Washington Post story that Sanders was recently briefed by U.S. intelligence officials that Russia was meddling in the election and attempting to "help" his campaign in an unspecified way. This comes on the heels of the Sanders' opponents and the media dredging up the "Bernie Bro" canard from 2016 and attempting to portray online Sanders supporters as uniquely vile. In this EMERGENCY PODCAST SYSTEM edition of RUMBLE, Michael Moore makes the connection between these two stories and explains the urgency of setting this story straight. Sanders opponents who falsely accused Sanders supporters of "death threats" and ugly online behavior appear to have been duped by a Russian disinformation campaign.

Ep. 38: There’s More Of Us Than There Are Of Them (feat. Rachel Bitecofer)

Why do so many Democrats keep making the mistake of running to the so-called "middle" or apologizing for being Democrats every election cycle? And why do Republicans -  an unpopular political party that enacts awful and discredited policies, continue to win and hold onto power? Michael is joined by a political scientist who has studied the fallacy of focusing on "swing voters" and how, instead, the number one goal of Democrats should be turning out non-voters, occasional voters and their base.

Rachel Bitecofer is a political scientist and professor at Christopher Newport University in Newport News, Virginia and a Senior Fellow at the Niskanen Center. Her election model accurately predicted the outcome of the Democratic blue wave in the 2018 House elections and she shares her thoughts on 2020, what the Democrats keep getting wrong, and how accidentally getting hit in the head by a pack of Ramen Noodles by Michael Moore in 2004 turned her life around.

In the U.S., the richest 0.1% now control a bigger share of the pie than at any time since the beginning of the Great Depression.

But what happens when the very people hoarding this wealth at the expense of democracy, the environment and an equitable society, re-brand themselves as the people who will fix society's problems? What happens when the arsonists pose as the firefighters?

Anand Giridharadas has been studying these questions and he joins Michael Moore to name names and discuss what to do about it.

Ep. 8: Follow The Yellow Brick Road (feat. Alex Press)

Since the economic crash of 2008, polling has consistently showed that young Americans are embracing socialism more than capitalism. Media outlets like Jacobin and organizations like DSA have emerged and they are mobilizing and informing new generations of political thinkers.

In this episode of "RUMBLE with Michael Moore," Michael is joined by Alex Press, an editor and writer at Jacobin, a labor organizer and a DSA member.  She and Michael discuss the movement behind the Bernie Sanders campaign, health care, the Wizard of Oz, suicide, labor and more.

Ep. 7: A Very Rumble Christmas

Join Michael Moore for a RUMBLE Christmas sing-along! The lyrics are below and are slightly altered to match the times we live in.

Merry Christmas!

1. Rudy, the Red-Nosed Reindeer

Rudy, the red nosed lawyer

Had a very shiny nose

That’s cause of where he put it

Right up in, well, you know.

All of the other Trumpsters

Used to roll their eyes and sneer

As Rudy hung out in Ukraine

Hoping to deliver a smear.

Then one foggy winter’s day

Donald came to say

Rudy with your nose so bright

Won’t you tell more lies tonight

Then all the Trumpsters loved him

And they shouted out with glee —

“Rudy the red-nosed lawyer

You’ll go down in infamy!“

2. Nancy Pelosi Is Coming to Town

Oh, you better watch out

You better not cry

You better not pout

I’m telling you why

Nancy Pelosi is coming to town!

She’s making a list

Checking it twice

Gonna find out who’s working for ICE

Nancy Pelosi is coming to town.

She sees you when you’re sleeping

She knows when you’re awake

She knows what else is in that server —

And she knows you're on the take!

You better watch out

You better not try

To hold a fake trial

I’m telling you why —

Nancy will kick your ass!

3. Silent Night

Silent Night!

Holy Night!

Fox is gone.

Murdoch’s left town.

Tucker and Hannity —

Nobody cares.

Fox and Friends

Are lost in Times Square

Sleep in heavenly peace!

Trump will be joining you soon!

4. White Christmas

I’m dreaming of a White Owner

Just like the owners we’ve known before

Where they fire Colin Kaepernick

For taking a knee

Cause he didn’t like cops shooting black kids in the snow.

I’m dreaming of a White Owner

With every Christmas card I write.

May Colin’s days be merry and bright —

And may all you owners take flight.

5. Jared the No-Man

Jared the No-man

He brought peace to the Middle East!

He brought happiness to all the world

And he never even said a peep!

Jared the No-man

He fixed climate change!

With a wink and a nod and a twitch of his eye

The entire earth was saved!

But then one day his father-in-law called

And told him to stay away -

Ivanka would now run the world!

“Pack your bags, she’s mine today!”

Jared the No-man knew he had no choice that day —

So he waved goodbye,

Saying “don't you cry,

I’ll be fine in East LA.!”

6. Joy to the World

Joy to the world!

The Trump is impeached!

And soon we’ll get Pence too!

What will Mitch McConnell do?!

What will Stephen Miller do?!

Run and hide then go to jail?

Run and hide then go to jail?

Run and hide then go to jail?

Run and hide, run and hide

Then go to jail!
