How to Get The Results You Want with "The Results Queen" Dr. Jean Oursler
00:51:52

Our brain was designed to keep us safe, and in the days when humans had to run from sabertooth tigers, our brain's job was to scan for danger and make sure that we stay out of harm's way. Even though we are not in danger of being eaten by a saber-tooth tiger these days, our brain is still always trying to keep us safe by keeping us in the same spot where we are comfortable and stable. This Caveman Brain® can hold us back in business where it is necessary to step out of our comfort zone in order to achieve what we want. Today’s guest has a new way of setting intentions and going after our vision.

Dr. Jean Oursler is otherwise known as the Results Queen. Dr.Jean has a Ph.D. in business psychology and is considered one of the country’s top business consultants, a top-rated speaker, and a world-class business performance coach. She is the author of “Give up Goals and Results are Yours”. Using Innovative Brain Science, Dr. Jean is the creator of a groundbreaking business growth system called the Caveman Brain Business Growth System powered by Caveman Brain®.

In this episode, Dr. Jean shares her method that she uses with her clients to help them finally reach the result that they haven't been able to achieve on their own. Whether that is a sales goal or chronic procrastination, she has a method that starts with ditching the idea of goal setting (I know, sounds crazy but hear her out!). Her method involves Z-A thinking, which starts with your ideal outcome in mind, and then works all the way backwards to the very first step that needs to be taken to get there. With this clear path set out, why would there be any reason not to achieve what you want? Living in a world of constant distraction can make it that much more difficult to do what needs to be done to move the needle forward, but by understanding your brain and what you need to do to make things happen, it comes down to putting in the work and getting comfortable with being uncomfortable. Tune in to learn to set your outcomes with intention and overcome your Caveman Brain®.

Key highlights:

  • Dr. Jean explains Caveman Brain®
  • Z-A thinking: Going backward by starting at your outcome and figuring out the steps to get there
  • The idea that our brain responds best to words that go up in sound, like “result” and doesn’t respond as well to words that go down in sound like “goal”
  • A lot of people are not clear on their goals and others will put them down, so a strong belief system is essential
  • The way you do anything is the way you do everything, so how are you doing things in other areas of your life?
  • We live in a society full of distractions
  • Our brain chemistry is changing with technology

Why You’re Not Reaching Your Goals with Matt Schneider
00:54:16

So many of us are doing all we can to break the cycles we were raised in and provide a better life and future for the next generation. Through our pain and struggles, we can grow into the person we are meant to be. On the other hand, it is easy to blame our circumstances and choose the “easy” path of making excuses as to why we are not reaching our goals. The key is to choose the hard path first and pave the way for an easier future for ourselves and our children. Today’s guest is an incredibly inspiring example of doing just that, and he encourages us to dig deep to find our core values and filter everything in our lives through them in order to find success.

Matt Schneider is the Executive Vice-President & equity owner of a global software (SaaS) company with a target valuation of over $150M. He is also the co-founder of The MDK Project, a leadership development program, and The Squire Program, a development program for young men and their fathers to experience together. Prior to becoming a successful entrepreneur, Matt spent 7 years in Special Operations on SWAT and was a TFO on the United States Marshal’s Office Fugitive Team. Matt has helped 7 and 8-figure companies elevate their profits by focusing on leadership, team cohesion, and problem-solving complex issues that are costing a great deal of time and money.

In this episode of Lead Sell Grow - The Human Experience podcast, Matt gets real with us about the fact that too many people in our society bail at the first sign of a struggle or adversity. What we need to do is embrace hard times and use them as an opportunity for growth and development for who we want to become. Regardless of our background or personal circumstances, we all have the ability and obligation to take charge of our life and pivot toward a life of abundance. Matt is open about the mistakes he made in his early business days, and how those mistakes cost him his health, happiness, and a lot of money. By establishing his non-negotiable core values and filtering everything in his life through them, Matt was able to turn his life around and create abundance and success.

Key highlights:

  • Matt’s background and childhood and why he wanted to break the cycle he was raised in
  • What it was like to be in Special Operations on SWAT
  • Embracing growth in adversity
  • Having values and non-negotiables for his habits, relationships, and business
  • Matt’s 4 core values and how they have changed every aspect of his life

  • How he helps people realize their potential
  • How having ore values has changed his life
  • How Matt measures if he is improving
  • Too many people lack the discipline to get where they want to go
  • How to turn your employees into Intrapreneurs and have them fired up about making your company better
  • Who Matt’s program is for and what people get out of it
  • People will do more to avoid pain than to seek pleasure
  • On the other side of adversity and pain, is where passion is found
  • His advice to someone that doesn’t know where to start to reach their goals

Permanently Change Any Behavior, Action, or Belief with Adele Spraggon
00:37:54

What if everything you have been taught about how to stop procrastinating, reduce overwhelm, and achieve your goals, has been wrong all along? This is exactly what behavioral change expert Adele Spraggon is saying, and she has a formula that will help you finally ditch the negative patterns that aren’t serving you, and how to keep those patterns away for good. Drawing on the most recent findings in brain research along with inspiring stories of breakthroughs and triumphs from her coaching clients, Adele demonstrates that almost any obstacle can be overcome with the right operating instructions.

Adele Spraggon is an award-winning author, a thought leader, an international trainer, and a fearless speaker. In 2020, she was awarded the Woman of Inspiration: Customer Experience Award, and in 2021, she was recognized as the Top Behavioral Expert of the Year by IAOTP: International Association of Top Professionals. Her recent book Shift: 4 Steps to Personal Empowerment has won three awards for its revolutionary message about how to actually set and achieve goals.

In this episode, Adele explains that our brain likes to form patterns, and since we are not born with any patterns already formed, they form as we go through life and the ones that work in our early life, stick with us. Sometimes those patterns benefit us by keeping us alive and safe, but what if we have patterns that are holding us back from our potential? Unfortunately, that is the case for so many people. Adele explains how we determine if a pattern is working for us, or if it is something we need to work to change. Changing those deep-rooted patterns might seem like a daunting task, but Adele breaks down how simple it actually is if we learn to take ownership of the patterns we have. By following her 4-step method for subtracting negative patterns, we can better navigate this world and actually achieve any goal.

Key highlights:

  • Adele’s mission was born because recognized that a lot of her clients weren't reaching their goals and she wanted to know why
  • The difference between your mind and brain
  • How to know if the patterns in your life are working for you
  • What is a pattern and what is it not?
  • How do we identify a pattern? We are taught to try to identify the “why?” but we should really be looking at the “what?”
  • There is nothing in your brain that wants to sabotage you
  • When you subtract the pattern that is not working, your brain will create a pattern that works
  • How to remove patterns that are not working for you
  • What Adele sees in people that are not successful in this method: lack of ownership of their pattern
  • Patterns Eric sees in salespeople: imposter syndrome, call reluctance, etc., and what Adele recommends to overcome these
  • Get out of your mind and get in tune with your body to become more self-aware

Build Better Relationships by Understanding Personality Types with Merrick Rosenberg
00:49:40

There is no denying that understanding various personality types helps reduce and resolve drama in the workplace, and any areas of life for that matter. Understanding how others are wired gives us major clues on how to interact with them and leads to empathy instead of frustration during times of conflict. With there being so many different personality quizzes out there, it can become overwhelming to know which ones to pay attention to, but the DISC framework is very easy to understand, and widely used in the workplace. Today’s guest found a way to make these personality types even more interactive by bringing them to life and teaching others how to better communicate and foster an engaging culture.

Merrick Rosenberg reinvented how people learn about themselves through the power of personality. He is the CEO of Take Flight Learning and author of five books about the Eagle, Parrot, Dove, and Owl styles, which you will learn about today. Merrick has worked with more than half of the Fortune 100 companies in the U.S. and around the world. Under Merrick’s leadership as CEO of Take Flight Learning, his company has been selected as the New Jersey Business of the Year by NJ Biz Magazine and has repeatedly been named as one of the Fastest Growing Companies and Best Places to Work in the Philadelphia area by the Philadelphia Business Journal.

In this episode, Merrick explains the idea of the “platinum rule”, which is to treat others how they want to be treated, instead of how you want to be treated. This idea is crucial because not everyone engages the same way, and learning to communicate with others based on their personality helps us to better get our message across and reduce conflict. This idea isn’t just applicable for leaders, but is also a very important concept for relationships in general whether it’s with a partner or our kids. Merrick shares very exciting news about an upcoming project he has been working on, and you don’t want to miss this one.

Key highlights:

  • How Merrick got into DISC personality traits
  • The importance of communicating according to personality types
  • The platinum rule: treat people how they want to be treated
  • Why Merrick chose DISC personality type framework instead of others out there
  • Merrick’s favorite results that he gets from training companies
  • How does implementing the birds get rid of drama?
  • The U.S. Presidents and their styles: which personality types win every election?
  • The recent shift in common personality types of CEOs
  • Your style doesn't determine your success but it does determine how you are going to go about being successful
  • We need to understand people and their style instead of trying to change them
  • Mistakes Eric made before learning about the importance of personality styles
  • How do you get in front of and sell to your ideal client?
  • How Merrick landed a Tedx talk

How to Pave Your Own Path in a Crowded Industry with Shea Gerhardt
00:55:56

So many aspiring entrepreneurs get stuck in the mindset that the industry they want to get into is already too crowded, and there is no space for them. The truth is that in most industries, there is space for everyone as long as you become committed to finding the solution to a problem. Maybe that is with a coaching program, a service, or even a physical product just like the guest in this episode.

Shea Gerhardt is the CEO and founder of Buderflys Technologies, Inc which she founded because she recognized a problem in the crowded, yet stale $30B earbud industry. Knowing that discomfort of the traditional earbuds is the top complaint from users in this industry, Shea brought together a team of experts that have spent the past four years solving this problem that no one thought was possible.

In this episode, Shea shares her encouraging and inspiring story of perseverance in finding an area that needed desperate improvement, and tirelessly pursuing a solution. This invention has led to a much more improved experience for their users, and she walks us through how she did it, and what is next for her company. Tune in to hear her advice to other entrepreneurs and a great example of the law of attraction at work.

The One Thing That Helped Me Create My Dream Future
00:22:01

There is one habit that helped Eric create his dream future, and that is journaling. He felt he was stuck and unfulfilled at a job he wasn’t happy with, and met with a coach that changed everything for him. This coach suggested journaling to declutter the mind and get everything out on paper, and this habit is what led Eric to be able to get his vision out there and start creating a future that aligned with his purpose.

If journaling sounds like a great idea to you, but you don’t know where to start, in this episode Eric walks you through how he first started, and how you can do the same thing in a very easy and actionable way. This process involves gratitude for what you currently have, in an effort to block out any fear that might creep in surrounding venturing out and trying something new. We can’t feel gratitude and fear at the same time, so it’s important to practice gratitude to block out that fear.

In this episode, Eric will teach you how to use your memory and the power of visualization to create your ideal future and build a blueprint that will lay out how you are going to get there.

Key highlights:

  • Create your dream future by journaling
  • “Anything that exists has been created twice, once in a person’s mind, and then in real life.”
  • Ideas come from us from a higher source
  • Eric started journaling to declutter his mind
  • Our thoughts cause our feelings and our feelings cause our actions
  • When we are feeling joy and excitement we want to get out and be productive
  • We can’t feel gratitude and fear at the same time
  • It’s important to practice gratitude to block out fear
  • The concept of using visualization, memory, and imagination, to create a dream future
  • We are not utilizing our memory the right way
  • If you really to get out of where you are and get to somewhere better, design what that place looks like

5 Mistakes Sales Professionals Make
00:22:45

If you are a sales professional, there is a good chance you could be using sales tactics and strategies that are now outdated and have just been passed along through companies over the years. In this episode, Eric breaks down 5 mistakes that sales professionals make. You might be surprised to hear that some of these are mistakes because they might be advice you have learned from a mentor in the past, but are actually costing you sales.

The first mistake is confusing commonality for rapport. You might think that finding something that you share in common with a customer means that you are building rapport and in turn will make them trust you, but the truth is that you could be wasting time that you should be spending explaining how you can help them. As Eric says in the episode, “People want to buy from professionals and experts, not friends.”

The second mistake is selling to everyone the exact same way. Each person is unique and requires a different approach. Using an approach that clashes with that person’s personality and decision-making process, might push them away.

The third mistake is not having a weekly plan. Not setting your week up with intentionality is costing you time and productivity. Listen in for Eric's tips on how to set your week up for success.

The fourth mistake is not having a process for asking questions. In this episode, Eric walks you through his process that helps you learn what you need to know to help the customer solve their problems. You don’t want to “show up and throw up” all kinds of information about how great you are. Learn about the customer with the right questions and then show how you can help.

The fifth mistake is not validating what they are looking for. If you don’t do this, you might end up writing a proposal that doesn't even match their needs. Make sure you know what they actually want.

Tune in to hear about each of these mistakes in more detail, and how to avoid them.

Understanding the Subconscious and Taking Control of Your Mind - with Inge Rock
00:58:04

There is a part of ourselves that is largely responsible for the choices we make and the actions we take each day, yet most people are not in tune with this part of themselves. That part is our subconscious, and it controls 95% of our brain power and handles everything we need to function properly. Our subconscious also wants to keep us safe and tends to repeat the same ideas we have been programmed to believe, but sometimes these ideas are doing more harm than good. Today’s guest is on a mission to teach people how to reprogram their subconscious.

Inge Rock is a highly sought-after speaker and author of 7 books. Although she is highly successful now, in 2004 Inge hit rock bottom when she lost her business, got divorced, and was one million euros in debt. Realizing that she was responsible for everything that happened to her, Inge made a choice to completely turn her life around. She became certified as a life coach, and now teaches others how to control their mind and thoughts.

How to Set Goals With Purpose and Actually Achieve Them
00:16:25

We hear it all the time: Setting goals is the first step to achieving success, but what if you were told that you have been taught how to set goals the wrong way? Most people write out a list of things they want to achieve but don’t actually take the action to get there. We hear about New Years' Resolutions every year, but some people have the same goals every single year, and never actually achieve them. The problem is self-image. If we don’t believe we can achieve something, we will continue to make excuses for why it can’t happen. Another mistake people make is basing goals on the past. The past does not determine the future.

Zig Ziglar often asked, "Are you a meaningful specific or a wandering generality?" We all want to be meaningful specifics, yet so many people wander around every day wondering where the time has gone and why they can’t achieve their goals. You have to have a purpose, go after it, and then you will start attracting more of what you want to achieve.

In this episode, Eric shares that he had a New Years' Resolution of starting a podcast, and this was his goal for 3 whole years before he actually took action. To finally achieve the goals he had for himself, Eric made 3 lists that eventually laid out exactly what he needed to do each day to be on the path to reaching those goals. He walks you through how to create these lists today, so make sure to take notes!

Key highlights:

  • Eric's New Years resolution for 3 years
  • You’ll never outperform your own self-image
  • Are you a wandering generality or a meaningful specific?
  • The books Eric recommends for success
  • Basing goals on the past is holding us back
  • List #1: What you know you don't want
  • List #2: The opposite of what you don't want from your first list
  • List #3: What you can do today to achieve those goals
  • When you have a purpose, life attracts those to you

Esther's innovative strategies have assisted clients to grow, scale, and thrive in the best of times, and also in the worst. Esther has worked with companies like Netflix, NBC universal, Microsoft, ESPN, Warner Bros discovery, CNN, Dreamworks Animation, Adobe, Disney, IMAX and national geographic.

In this episode, Esther takes a deep dive into the problem that she has seen over and over again in multiple companies- communication, trust, and respect. A lot of us may think we are already great communicators and don’t need help in this area, but taking on a leadership role involves a level of communication that many people are not aware of. As humans, we are “meaning making machines,” as Esther and Eric discuss in this episode, and we are always wanting to extract meaning out of everything we encounter. Being aware of this and taking responsibility for our actions and words, is the first step to creating an environment where psychological safety exists, and that is the key to a thriving company culture.

Key highlights:

  • Intro to Esther Weinberg
  • How she came up with “The Ready Zone”
  • Her background in Disney and why she left
  • Why she lost respect for her boss
  • The meaning of “We are meaning making machines.”
  • Esther’s framework for taking a different kind of action that can lead to a different result
  • The most common mistake leaders make
  • Should all companies be bringing everyone back to the office?
  • How do we focus on trust, respect, and safety?
  • Retention is a massive issue
  • Eric’s framework for the subconscious mind
  • How can leaders develop more trust?
  • What to do if you feel you don't have time to implement all the zones?
  • The one thing you can do as a leader that could solve 50% of issues
  • Move from a boss to curiosity pilot
  • Why is dignity important and how can leaders help people feel like they have dignity?
  • Psychology safety is everything- and if leaders can provide that, that’s where dignity comes in
  • Creating an environment of human dignity
  • We can't control the meaning someone makes of something, but we can take responsibility once we know about it and heighten our awareness to create an environment where it exists

The World Needs More Servant Leaders - with Oakland McCulloch
00:34:43

One of the three pillars of the Human Experience is to lead, and today’s guest is an outstanding example of what true leadership embodies. Oakland McCullooch spent 23 years in the Army and held numerous leadership positions in the Infantry and Armor branches. He assisted in disaster relief operations for Hurricane Hugo in Charleston, SC and Hurricane Andrew in South Florida. He has also held instructor positions at the US Army Ordnance School, the US Army Command and General Staff College, the Australian Command and Staff College, University of South Alabama and Stetson University. During his most recent position in the Army, he spent 3 years as the Professor of Military Science at the University of South Alabama where he led the training and commissioning of Lieutenants and tripled the size of the program.

Oakland retired from the Army in September 2009 and joined the staff at the Bay Area Food Bank as the Associate Director. He left the food bank in December 2010 to become the Senior Military Science Instructor and recruiter for the Army ROTC program at Stetson University in DeLand, Florida. In October 2013, he became the Recruiting Operations Officer for the Eagle Battalion Army ROTC program at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University where he has more than doubled the size of the program. In 2019, Cadet Command selected LTC McCulloch as the top recruiting officer, out of 274 others. He received thirty-one military service awards including the Bronze Star, eight Meritorious Service Medals, and the Humanitarian Service Medal.

In today’s episode of Lead, Sell, Grow: The Human Experience, Oakland shares his experience in the army and the many lessons he learned about true leadership along the way. While many might think that being a leader just means telling others what to do, Oakland emphasizes that leadership is about people and that being a servant leader is what it is all about. People need to know that you have their best interest in mind in order for you to be able to lead them, otherwise you will end up with people that might get work done for you, but passion and motivation are the key pieces that are lacking. Tune in to hear all about Oakland’s insight on how you can be a truly effective leader that people want to follow.

Key highlights:

● Oakland’s background in the army leading up to his retirement in 2009

● Oakland’s reasons for being passionate about leadership

● Lessons Oakland learned from being an army officer

● Leadership is leadership- it doesn't matter where you practice it

● People need to know that you have their best interest in mind to be able to lead them

● Leadership is all about people and all about trust, if you lose trust or respect, people won’t work very hard for you

● The power of showing people you care about them

● It is a privilege to being able to lead people- it's not about the title and more pay

● Servant leadership is key

● Leaders make a difference in people’s lives

● What can people do to improve their leadership skills?

● What do good leaders do?

● You need to be good at motivating people by finding a sense of purpose in their lives, a paycheck isn’t enough motivation

● How to get motivated in your leadership position

● Why all leaders need a “Napoleon’s corporal”

● Why he wrote a book and what opportunities it led to

● Our country is in need of good leadership

How to Overcome Adversity and Beat Cancer with John and Sherri Snoad
00:39:50

Sherri and John Snoad are just like many of us: ordinary people blindsided by an extraordinary event; an event that inspired them to author a book together...a book meant to help countless who get slammed with a life-changing event

Sherri Snoad is one of the countless people in the world who was blindsided with a cancer diagnosis. As a registered nurse and licensed massage therapist, she has had the unique perspective of experiencing both sides of illness. As a medical professional, she cared for countless patients experiencing the devastation of illness, never expecting to find herself on the other side as a patient. The experience taught Sherri things she never could have known as the professional. It transformed her understanding of illness and trauma.

John Snoad was suddenly and unexpectedly thrust into the role of caregiver. A career high school teacher and football coach, he never imagined the skills he spent years developing and applying in the classroom and on the field would play such a pivotal role as a caregiver. No more game plans and practice regimens...now he was creating care plans using his abilities to multitask, organize and adapt, as well as to motivate and coach his "team of one": Sherri. As a head coach, forethought and decision-making while maintaining a calm, collective demeanor were all paramount to John's teams’ successes in the heat of competition. Now he had to transition those skills for one purpose: win a game that he and Sherri could not afford to lose. The stakes were too high. Winning was the only option.

Don't Let Personal Growth Trap You - Eric Konovalov
00:05:10

We hear GURUS use the airplane example when teaching about personal growth. They say, "when you're on the airplane, the flight attendant tells you to put your mask on first". They do this because we can't help anyone before we're feeling good ourselves. Well, that same principle applies to life, except for on the airplane, we actually get to place the mask on our child. In real life, it's easy to continually focus on placing the mask on ourselves.

Personal growth can be a trap and Eric gives a great example of that in this episode.

The 3 Lists You Must Have to Set and Achieve Your Goals with Eric Konovalov, The Goal Guide
00:17:24

Zig Ziglar often asked, "Are you a meaningful specific or a wandering generality?"

That's because Zig understood the principles required for achieving success.

In this episode, Eric shares the 3 lists that everyone should make, if they're serious about achieving their goals.

This three lists are:

  1. Things I don't want
  2. Things I want
  3. Things I can do today

Eric referenced five books in this episode. They are:

Intentional Living by John C. Maxwell

The Law of Success by Napoleon Hill

Think and Grow Rich by Napoleon Hill. Check out the podcast with Paul Martinelli to hear how this book helped him go from janitor to multi millionaire.

7 Habits of Highly Effective People by Stephen R. Covey

B2B Sales Secrets by Eric Konovalov (shameless plug)

All of these books had something in common about successful people and that is that successful people set goals and go after them intentionally.

If you like this episode, please share it and leave us a good review. Those go a long way!

How to Go After What You Want in Life with Bryan Rhode
00:40:52

Bryan Rhode is the CEO and Founder of ACUMEN (www.ShopACUMEN.com) a revolutionary clothing line, designed to help men look sharp throughout the day. It truly is an amazing idea which was inspired by Bryan's service as a United States Marine Corps Officer. Though the idea of the ACUMEN is incredible, what we enjoyed most is Bryan's journey from his military days to becoming a attorney, getting into politics, and finally becoming a entrepreneur. If you think you have to do what you've always done, listen to Bryan's story, and you'll be inspired to take action on your dream!

Bryan and Eric, two marine corps brothers, had a great time on this episode of Lead Sell Grow - The Human Experience Podcast. What was most fascinating about Bryan's story is how he continues to pivot in new directions. It's almost as if he's fearless.

We discussed his journey of becoming a Marine Infantry Officer and then later on going to school to become a lawyer. He then ran for public office, and when that didn't work out, Bryan went into corporate law. It's truly amazing to see someone try so many things in their life.

After seeing men struggle with keeping their shirts neatly tucked in, Bryan developed a revolutionary clothing idea, inspired by the shirt stays marines wear to look "sharp" in their uniforms, and brought the idea to life with ACUMEN.

Lessons Learned from 100-ish Episodes and The Host's Future Plans with Eric and Harry
00:40:26

Lessons Learned from 100-ish Episodes and The Host's Future Plans with Eric and Harry. OK close enough! We thought we had 100 under our belt but if you count some of the Linkedin Lives we did, we are at 100...or so! C'mon now, work with us!

As we end Season 1, Eric and Harry decide to to take what they have learned in podcasting and pursue directions towards where their passions are. Eric has been coaching entrepreneurs and helping them to be their best selves.  Eric has helped Harry tremendously in the mission to be his best self and there is no doubt he will continue to help and serve others.

Harry is going to take the direction of helping entrepreneurs to be better at selling themselves. Selling With Dignity was written with these folks in mind.

There are tons of lessons and even though we are parting ways for a bit, there is a sentiment that the two will occasionally join forces again for the podcast airwaves.

Selling With Dignity - Harry Spaight
00:53:37

What is Selling With Dignity? That is the topic for this podcast as Eric and Harry speak about the new book. What is selling with dignity? It is treating yourself with respect and being respectful of others. Those that sell with dignity are not necessarily putting pressure on people to make a decision.

We talk about a number of areas where this comes to the forefront. "Actors" are in sales too. However we don't need to be that way. If we are of the mindset that we don't want to resort to tactics, we don't have to.

The book is for salespeople that don't want to be the pushy salesy type. Entrepreneurs will also benefit from this book. Some are afraid to ask for the order. In selling with dignity we have the opportunity to serve our clients and part of that is making the ask.

For more about the topic of Selling With Dignity the book can be purchased on Amazon https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/1956353011?pf_rd_r=M5S2SXWXF0D238JFVEJV&pf_rd_p=8fe9b1d0-f378-4356-8bb8-cada7525eadd&pd_rd_r=5d278a39-a9cb-4f7f-aa06-63dd5221a55a&pd_rd_w=TCFVd&pd_rd_wg=fOhLA&ref_=pd_gw_unk

How to Improve Your Boring Meetings with David Price
01:00:21

Meetings!!! Do you feel that we have too many meetings? Are they productive? Do they have a purpose? Are they the right length? Are we having them at the right time of day? Are we meeting to have meetings?

So many of us get bogged down with meetings and miss out on productivity. David gives us some very valuable insight and guidelines.

Are your meetings held on Monday mornings? Is this a good time to have a meeting? Could we try Tuesday and see if the participation is better?

Do meetings drag on because because the tradition is to have the meeting last for an hour or two hours? David gives the example of moving the meeting towards the end of the day so quitting time is the natural end of the meeting.

What about Powerpoint? Are our slides filled with text? If they are, we may be lacking confidence that we don't want to miss anything. If this is the case, we can trust ourselves a bit more by removing the text and using a few pictures as talking points.

If you can see the tops of heads in the audience, that is an indicator that the audience has lost interest.

David reminds us that no one dies while giving a speech. Once you give it, you can ask yourself was it worth being that worried?

David has quite a few stories and is well worth listening to and one can learn alot from this podcast.

A Genuine Conversation About Diversity and Inclusion in Sales with Amy Hrehovcik
01:10:24

Amy Hrehovcik joins us in having A Genuine Conversation About Diversity and Inclusion in Sales. Amy has quite the background in tech sales. Surprisingly there aren't a lot of women in this space and Amy shares some insight. There are situations in sales where women are treated differently than men. Its hard to imagine for some of us but the old school mistreatment of women with innuendo and crude remarks, is still far more prevalant than it should be. This discussion leads to the situations that minorities may be confronted with too.

There aren't any easy answers. Having conversations and becoming more aware of others views and experiences can only help.

The Secrets of a Successful Real Estate Professional - With Gene Dru
00:51:02

In The Secrets of a Successful Real Estate Professional with Gene Dru there is a lot to learn. So you want to enjoy the life of a real estate sales agent? Set your hours, make tons of money and take long vacations? Well that’s not the real world. Gene shares what it takes to succeed. He knows what its like to make hundreds of calls. Even today after doing this successfully, he is still making outbound calls for 2 hours a day.

On top of running his own personal real estate sales, he leads a sales team, he does loans and he invests in real estate with the aim of buying one property per week for resale purposes.

Why the drive? As is the case with many who lived in other countries, they see the opportunity in the US and go for it. Gene admits that he is not as polished as some but he knows that he can outwork people. He speaks about bringing value as a sales professional. Gene will gladly pass along a referral with his “I know a guy” line that he has been using for years and has built up quite a reputation.

What can you do that brings the value to others in sales? Gene suggests creating a local events flyer with your name on it and sending it out to people. Find ways to share value. That is what will separate the winners from the rest of the pack.

How to Be a Go-Giver to Grow Your Business - with Bob Burg
00:30:41

In How to be a Go Giver to Grow Your Business, Bob Burg shares that being a Go Giver is all about about providing immense value to others. Nobody cares if a salesperson has a quota or needs to earn a living, the sales professional that is looking out for the interests of others.

The  book The Go Giver Leader is also similar in the sense that the priciples are the same. Leadership is influence. The essence is Pull instead of pushing their will and ideas on others.Influencers pull. People must first buy into you before they buy into your idea.

The Go Giver leader and influencer need to be asking themselves questions about our clients or team member's goals and valuies. Helping them get what they want.

Bob is the author of Endless Referrals which was a "how to" book. Great salesmanship is not about the product or the service. It is about the person you touch. The client is going to feel the impact of the sale.

Having a noble purpose, a Why, is going to separate  salespeople and companies. Being outwardly focused on others will lead to better results. Yet we also have to deal with our own human nature which typically means we are self focused. Bob brings up his definition of happiness which is living congruently with one's values. Just because we think something is a value for us, does not mean it is valuable for the prospect.

How can we find what is valuable to others? Ask questions and listen is the best way to do this.  Listen to understand. Remembering that we all have our own set of beliefs. Thus there is a need to constantly and gently ask for clarification.

Read the books, the Go Giver found https://burg.com/books/

How to Create an Authentic Brand and Scale with Rob Napoli
00:45:36

How to Create an Authentic Brand and Scale with Rob Napoli  is a conversation with the aim of helping entrepreneurs grow their business. How does one get a personal brand and then grow it?

Where are the customers? That is where you want to be. Are they on Linkedin, Instagram, Twitter? Go engage with your customers and potential customers. The magic starts here with engagement, dialogue. Its not just about likeing someone's content but really engaging in digital conversations.

How do we engage with people that may not even be found in Social? Is there anything we can do? Maybe the CEO isn't on Linkedin but are there others in the company that are active on it? By connecting with and engagging with employess of that particular company, we can create the connection paths.

People want to work where they can make an impact. Eric raises the question about a company that has a strong Why. Rob provides an answer about a company that brings up the difference from serving and being "willing" to serve. Its like a person who builds a business out of Demand but not clearly understanding the Why. The company without a Why is not going to have as much passion behind it.

Rob shares his sales process where he touches on Linkedin, Instagram, Clubhouse and making connections and having conversations. How does one find the time to do this? The answer? A  virtual assistant helps with the posting and game planning the week or the next 10 days.

Many who struggle with staying focused  like Rob, who candidly speaks about his ADHD challenge. From  the various experiences, Rob had to think what is it that he wants to do. With all of the activities and the workload, he realigned what is important to get done.  In this conversation we get to hear Eric Konovalov the coach. If one is thinking about changing the routines, what is it you are trying to achieve would be a good question to ask.

For more about Rob who is a giver, find him here on Linkedin https://www.linkedin.com/in/robnap/

The Not So Secret Side of The Law of Attraction with Bob Doyle
00:47:32

Are you familiar with the Law of Attraction and the Secret? If so you may have come across Bob Doyle. Bob joins us in the conversation, The Not So Secret Side of the Law of Attraction. In this conversation, Bob removes much of the mystical and focuses more on the mind and the brain as well as breathing. This is a solid conversation that you are sure to enjoy.

Bob has been teaching these principles through programs, live events, podcasts, livestreams, coaching, writing, and even virtual reality, since 1998. He is driven by his passion for creative self-expression and his work is heavily focused on helping people decide who they want to be and how they want to express themselves.
Recently, Bob’s attention has shifted from the metaphysical aspects of the Law of Attraction or “reality creation” process, to a more grounded and biological look at what controls our experiences… our brain.
Bob believes that an understanding of how our brain is processing our experience of reality, empowers even Law of Attraction skeptics to see results with creating their lives by design instead of by default.
In addition to his work in personal transformation, Bob has also been a voiceover artist since 1985, and the host of The Bob Doyle Show, where Bob showcases his other outlets of creativity including music, computer animation, virtual reality, artificial intelligence, and more.

Towards the end of the podcast, Bob speaks about the  power of the breath and breathwork to gain direct access to the subconscious mind. Its science folks.

How to Attract Your Dream Relationship and Keep It with Gaby Chang
00:52:04

Gabriela Chang is a Transformational Healer, Speaker, & Author, Women’s Empowerment Advocate, Dating & Relationship Expert, who uses her intuitive gifts to tune into your higher frequencies and download the information you need to work with in order to activate your subconscious mind, dissolve limitations, and rewire your vibrations to welcome in the love you desire.

In this podcast, How to Attract Your Dream Relationship and Keep It with Gaby Chang. Gaby shares some of her experiences in relationships and admits some of her mistakes in the past as well as bringing in baggage from previous relationships.

She shares her insights with us to be better communicators. Sometimes we as men think that the woman who is sharing her emotions with us, we might go into problem solving mode. So sometimes it is better to just listen while the other person is expressing themselves.

We discuss Gaby's background where she had to come to tems with her own past where sexual abuse was present. She speaks about cutting the chord by forgiving her abuser. This does not mean facing the accuser. It is something she did in her mind to let go of that negative energy.

This is a very interesting conversation that is helpful to both men and women in relationships. Gaby can be found at https://www.innerisen.com/ask-gaby

How to Write a Book to Grow Your Business with Michelle Prince
00:53:59

Michelle Prince, a former copier salesperson, (both Eric Konovalov and I can relate to that) joined us to discuss How to Write a Book to Grow Your Business. Michelle also has some stories form her years working with Zig Ziglar.

Michelle tells the story of being in software sales and making good money but something was missing. It was her passion that was missing. She ended up writing a book about her story and before long she was getting calls to do speaking and coaching. Michelle is humble and recognizes that it wasn't her original intention but the chips fell into place and evolved into helping others to do the same.

It can be said we all have a story to tell. Listen to this podcast and you will agree. One of the suggestions is to write about what you are passionate about. Once you have a book out you will be talking about it for a long time. What faces many of us is the fact that we are dealing with self doubt. We may not be Zig Ziglar but our story may resonate with someone who might never pick up a Zig Ziglar book.

So you thought about writing a book now how do you start? Michelle suggests figure out the passion and the experiences. What are you passionate about on one side and what are the experiences on the other side should be written down. Then you can match things up and get started. Its as easy as speaking into an audio file or typing. If you are writing a book to sell books, its an uphill battle. The book will be a revenue producing opportunity for you if its considered a business card book. People will throw away a business card or a brochure but its rare that they would throw a way a book.

This is a podcast that you may want to listen to more than once if you are thinking about writing a book or woondering what to do with it.

How We Grew Our Business During COVID with Matt Wigler
00:51:06

Matt Wigler is an entrepreneur, musical artist, and public speaker based in Miami, Florida. He is Founder & CEO of MHW Live Music and Wigler Group. Matt has an active career as a jazz & blues artist, and performs with his trio at venues and festivals around the world. He also speaks on topics including entrepreneurship, business-to-business sales, and building strong company culture in a remote work environment.

Matt explains in How We Grew Our Business During COVID, that the leveling of the competive playing field happened during Covid. With MHW Live Music, Matt and his team were calling on the hospitality industry to promote musicians. He shares how although it is a competitive industry like most industries, due to the Covid pandemic, thethe playing field became level as the hotels were shut down. Since nobody was hiring musicians to perform in hotels that were closed, they made the most of the opportunity by starting relationships.

00:56:43

I Survived Cancer, Woke Up From a Coma, and Beat Death with Matt Ode is quite the story.

Are you ready for some inspiration? This is a story of a relentless pursuit to stay alive and overcome the invisible enemy of cancer. At the age of 25, Matt was hospitalized in the Cleveland Clinic ICU for 53 days, forcing him into a 2 week coma. How to Lead Winners with Phil McGeoghan
01:02:37

Coach Phil McGeoghan-NFL Wide Receivers Coach
Consistency, burning desire to compete. Sacrifice. Up early in the morning. As a football player, Phil like all players are under intense scrutiny. Their games and practices are filmed and coaches are approaching players to improve.

Phil was the oldest of 7 kids. His dad was a prison dentist and a disciplinarian. Phil learned early what it was like to lead by setting a great example for his siblings. It is probably no accident that all of them have turned out with impressive careers.

Phil shares some of his vulnerable characteristics with his players to build trust. This is much different compared to the authoritarian style of leadership that is so prevalent in the sport of football.

Phil is one who takes responsibility. Listening to how he takes responsibility for a printer malfunctioning at a deadline is impressive. Most of us would gladly put the blame on an inanimate object but Phil talks about the accountability in the minor things as well. Instead of worrying who is to blame, one can move on quickly in a culture of accountability.

Great advice is provided for the IGM people (I Got Mine). He suggests sitting down with the mission statement and drive the better culture, what is acceptable and what isn’t. The IGMs may bounce from job to job but that will catch up with them.

A challenge with some athletes is they lived their entire life playing in front of others with incredible highs. These athletes have an incredible let done to deal with and are starting over at the bottom. Even those that made tons of money are dealing with a huge void without the game.

Overall this was an extremely enjoyable and enlightening conversation about coaching in sports at a very high level that easily translates into leadership in business.

How to Connect and Build Trust by Using Ethics - With Yonason Goldson
01:08:48

Eric and I have the opportunity to speak with a rabbi who is now helping businesses to build trust with their teams and customers. How to Connect and Build Trust by Using Ethics - With Yonason Goldson we discuss the value of ethics and purpose in business. Success in business is ultimately about relationships and trust.

Businesses sometimes lose sight of the simple things like doing the right things for their clients. Earning people's trust will help turn your clients into salespeople for your company.

On the other hand there are companies that will pit employees and managers against each other in a survival of the fittest culture. These types of cultures are not sustainable. Yet other companies that build on trust and culture, not only do well, the message of culture travels and people want to do business with thoose cultures.

We also touch on the fact that sometimes we have to keep our beliefs to ourselves in order for these same people to at least listen to a message that may help them.  This conversation is one that we could continue for some time.

Business Lessons Learned From Football - With Aswand Cruickshank
00:28:51

What does one learn from playing a sport such as football? This is what we discuss in Business Lessons Learned From Football - With Aswand Cruickshank. Aswand grew up playing football and learned about wins and losses. When one gets knocked down, we learn from it and get back up and try again.

Aswand is a 2x author, who is unafraid to take risks. He attempted to start a semi-pro football team without fear. It didn't work out but that fail did not determine who he is. He went back to his old coaches and got the encouragement to keep moving forward in life.

Aswand gives a great shout out to his mom, Debra Cruikshank. She gave him perspective and helped him to establish priorities in life. Mom had his back on each occassion where he took a fall.

A Unique Way to Book More Meetings - With Scott Milener
00:50:42

Despite massive spend on lead gen, sales effort, tools and gifting, outbound generates too few meetings.  It is more challenging than ever to book meetings. So what do we do? More of the same? Here is a fresh approach. Scott Milener joins us to share A Unique Way to Book More Meetings.

Scott has been involved with SaaS sales and knows that everyone has their tech stack and is trying to get more meetings by spending more on technology. IntroSnap is designed to help businesses and help charities as well. Instead of being one of the same old, same old, why not look at something different and fresh?

People are passionate about THEIR charities and causes. Instead of telling a prospect that your company donates to charity, how about donating to your prospect's charity? Would that have more of an impact?

Listen in on the conversation. This may open up a new avenue for you and your goal to set meetings or move prospects along the sales cycle.

How to Network and Create Long-Lasting Relationships - with John Carr
00:55:30

Eric Konovalov and Harry Spaight are joined by a true networking champion champion joins us on this podcast, How to Network and Create Long-Lasting Relationships - with John Carr. John has been networking successfully many years and shares his insight. Networking in Chambers of Commerce and networking groups needs to be strategic and intentional. It is about finding people with a giver's mindset and developing relationships with these folks. Some mistakenly think they need to collect a ton of business cards and give out just as many. That does not result in anything of value. far better is it to have two good conversations with Givers and start building trust with each other.

As John points out, once one starts to get referrals, business can be much better. There is already a measure of trust established based on the referral. However, there is still work to do after the introduction. Be a Giver and think of having 1-2 conversations at each event. Before long, you will build up a nice network of people helping each other.

Creating the Person You're Meant to Be with Nick Connor
01:00:16

In this podcast, Creating the person you're meant to be with Nick Connor, Nick shares his story about being a pro baseball player that reached his peak and had to make a change. What would that transition look like? In Nick's case, he ended up taking a job in door to door sales selling security systems in residential neighborhoods.

Nick talks about the complexities in life and business. In baseball, one can be a really good player but as they progress in the game, they face other players who are also advancing in the game. In his case, the complexity of hitting a 95 MPH babseball with movement was too complex.

In business, we are encouraged to grow. What we may not calculate is what is underneath, below the surface. In sales, we need to deal with rejection. Rejection is not something that any of us desire. Just like in baseball after a bad game, players are encouraged and coached to put that game behind them and to keep moving forward. The same can be true with sales. There are bad days and you have to keep sticking with it.

We also venture into the conversation regarding the pandemic and making use of the time to make changes for the better. We also discussed Jim Rohn's Goal setting workbook, that can be found here https://store.jimrohn.com/jim-rohn-one-year-success-planner/

Chernobyl through The Eyes of a First Medical Responder - With Dr. Alla Shapiro
01:01:26

Chernobyl Through the Eyes of a First Medical Responder with Dr. Alla Shapiro is a fascinating story of the time period of the nuclear accident at Chernobyl. Dr. Alla Shapiro was a first physician-responder to the worst nuclear disaster in history: the explosion at the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Station in Ukraine on April 26, 1986. Information about the explosion was withheld from first responders, who were not given basic supplies, detailed instructions, or protective clothing.Dr. Shapiro treated traumatized children as she tried to protect her family. No protocols were in place because no one had anticipated the consequences of a nuclear accident. From the outset of the disaster, the Soviet government worsened matters by spreading misinformation; and first responders, including Alla, were ordered to partake in the deception of the public.

After years of persistent professional hostility and personal discrimination that she and her family experienced as Jewish citizens of the USSR, four generations of the Shapiro family fled the Soviet Union in the late 1980s. As émigrés, they were each allowed to take no more than 40 pounds of possessions and $90 in cash.

Motivated by her Chernobyl experiences, Alla Shapiro ultimately became one of the world’s leading experts in the development of medical countermeasures against radiation exposure.

How Abuse Survivors Can Create The Life Of Their Dreams - With Jennifer Ramirez
00:43:38

Jennifer Ramirez' story is difficult to fathom. As a 7-year old, she was the victim of abuse by her own father. Her mother didn't want to believe what happened and  this event had a large impact on Jennifer as a young girl, through her teens and early adult life.

At 21 she was a single mom, living in a gang war zone, in abusive relationships and was $25,000 in debt.

Hear how she turned it all around. Eventually with some guidance, she bought her own place for less than the rent was in her old terrible neighborhood filled with gang violence. SHe got herself out of debt completely and then started buying properties to build her wealth. Not only did she come out of this dire situation with an amazing turnaround, she started a nonprofit to help other women in similar circumstances!

Jennifer could have stayed in the  situation she was in but decided she wanted more out of life than to be a victim. Now she has stopped the cycle and has provided a much better opportunity for her own daughter, as well as others who have participated in the counseling and workshops in the non-profit "& RIse".

Crash & Rise to Success - with Mike Shoreman
00:53:17

The story of Mike Shoreman, how a debilitating illness that stemmed from the Chicken Pox he had as a child took him from his career as a professional paddleboarder and surfer to a person who needed a cane to maintain his balance on dry land. Mike explains what happened in depth. How the illness took him out of the life he knew and how it came to a complete crash so to speak. It was so devastating he had to check into a mental health facility. That was the low point of his life and from there he turned things around.

In a relatively short period of time Mike went from being totally devastated and broken to becoming a speaker, well actually he entered a contest at Speaker Slam. If you haven’t seen his speech at Speaker Slam, you need to watch it here. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2R5DYP1ipD0

Mike gave his speech with the goal of uplifting about three out of the 350 in attendance. He did pretty well, so well that he won the contest! Within a week or so from the contest Mike’s speech was being picked up and going viral on sites like The Power of Positivity, A Plus, and Jay Shetty.

In 2020, people have lost businesses, dealt with isolation, suffered mental health issues among other challenges during the whole Covid 19 pandemic. Mike feels that we are all “unbalanced paddleboarders” in a sense and is grateful for the fact that he can bring value and positivity to others.

This episode is loaded with lessons. Overcoming obstacles, having small wins lead to other wins and continuing to make steps in the right direction, surrounding yourself with othe rpositive people, being aware of your situation in life, getting coaches to help through challenges and projects, are some of the main ones Mike brought up.

Eric and I are fascinated with his story and we know you will be too. How a man who was completely broken mentally to now working with people like Jack Canfield and is a National Spokesperson for Paddleboarding in Canada and was inducted into the Hall of Fame for People With Disabilities. It really is remarkable that it happened and in such a very short time period too!

How to Overcome Your Fear - With Joel Holc
00:48:48

Looking back in life and asking the question "How did I get here?" can open up the mind to being Aware. Joel Holc in his mid 40's asked this question and it brought him all the way back to the last day of school in first grade in Israel. As other kids were getting there diploma to move on the second grade, Joel learned he would be held back. In his mind, smart kids went forward and stupid kids were held back. That really was the beginning of the programming of his mind that lasted for decades.

Joel eventually started and ran succesful businesses but something was missing. He was diagnosed with a disabling disease as well. Through the adversity, Joel realized that Fear was the dominating factor in his life. This fear was causing all kinds of stress and issues with relationships and his health.

Although Joel's story is pretty amazing and unique to him, he indicates that we all have our own story of challenges in our lives. Hearing what Joel has learned can help us to be more aware of our own challenges in life and hopefully help us in our desire to be better.

How to Connect with People to Grow Your Business - With Scott Schilling
01:04:48

Eric Konovalov and I had a great conversation with Scott Schilling. He brought up the phrase Hell On Earth and those words caught my attention like a big hook.

Think about this: Hell On Earth is meeting the person you COULD HAVE become.

Imagine meeting you as a different you. The one you could be.

I don't want to think about that but I need to think about it. The sand is running out slowly, every second another grain. I have to be my best. What about you?

If you don't know Scott, he is a Giver. He comes from the school of Zig Ziglar and is a wealth of value.

How to Program Your Mind for Success - with Dr. Shad Helmstetter
00:52:19

Dr. Shad Helmstetter is going to help you overcome the negativity in your life in this episode. He outlines how we are born into this world with unlimited potential. Two babies side by side in a hospital with amazing little bodies and incredible potential ahead of them. Why do some turn out living amazing lives and others do not?

The answer may be with the word NO. As children we heard the word tens of thousands of times. That word was getting wired into our brain like a programmer programming a computer, our brains have been programmed. In Dr. Helmstetter's experience he heard how Olympians from East Germany were listening to messages of positive speech to help them with their goals and to overcome any negative thinking. He tried it when he decided he wanted to lose weight. Over a period of 10 weeks of listening to his own recording of self talk for 10 minutes a day while shaving, he lost 38 pounds and has not ever put it back on. Interestingly his wife listened to the same recording and she too lost significant weight.

The brain does not care where you came from. It cares about your future. If you say you are terrible with names, you will be terrible with names. However change the self talk that you are great with names and watch how that little step will help.

Sales Hustle... It's All About "ABH" Always Be Helping - Collin Mitchell
00:43:45

Collin has an amazing background, as in amazing with overcoming challenges. He was not a student growing up and found his way into Sales as a young man in a boiler room environment. He learned from others along the way including some really good habits and some habits that weren't so good.

Surprisingly, Collin likes challenges today. Whether is be working at being an outstanding Dad or an entrepreneur starting several businesses, he is always working at improving and being a better version of himself. Looking at his routine with meditation, journaling, exercise, eating healthy, and working not 14 hours a day, but 8.

There is a lot to learn here from Collin with positive reinforcement, I Am statements and goal setting. Collin shares his ideas about the community he is building and podcasting and going from the Always Be Closing mentality which was transactional to Always Be Helping. The latter builds stronger and better relationships and is better for business and life in general. Selling becomes serving and becomes easier because one is not so focused on the result but focused on helping others.

Collin is still learning and speaks about his training he attended on prospecting with Jason Bay of Blissful Prospecting. This is just amazing that Collin is learning about prospecting and he could easily teach a class and yet is taking a class with one of his new hires. Leading by example is what Collin does.

Business and Leadership Lessons from a Serial Entrepreneur - With Roy Assad
01:01:11

Roy Assad has a great outlook on life, having come from a country where many of the basics we take for granted, were not readily available to him as a youth. He emigrated to the US as a teenager and within two days had his first job, although he didn't speak the language or know the alphabet since Arabic is considerably different that the English. Even though he may have envisioned streets of gold in America, the real gold was in the opportunities in this country. Roy has been working and providing since those early days without interruption.

He was taught that selling was solving a need and providing a solution. Listening was a key trait in sales and helping clients understand that you understand them, is a huge benefit in the selling and coaching businesses.

Over the years Roy has been involved with about a dozen entrepreneurial ventures. He is still partnering or starting businesses today and stays quite busy at the age many are thinking of retiring. He is a managing partner for The Human Capital Group in West Palm Beach Florida.

Roy works with executives who may feel nothing is wrong but something is missing. One of his favorite business books is none other than the Bible. He is a Giver and can be found on Linkedin here:https://www.linkedin.com/in/royassad/

How to turn the worst thing that's ever happened to you into the best thing - With Valerie Wiest
00:45:09

Valerie Wiest shares her experience of going through a marital breakup. One may not think immediately of leadership  before they hear her story but leadership is what Valerie is all about. She is raising her children, helping women with strength training and is on a mission to start a business.

What is amazing to us is Valerie does not throw her Ex under the bus. She looks inwardly and admits that she wasn't her true self during the years leading up to the affair and eventual divorce. Her attitude allows her to accept some of the responsibility and she does not want to be viewed as a victim. Pretty amazing perspective if you ask us.

Have you ever hearsd the line, everything happens for a reason? This too is discussed. Some things in life can't be explained. What would be the reason for pedophilia? There is none. A better expression is :there can be meaning found in every situation.

Other gems in the conversation include: Comparison is the thief of joy.

Don't let perfect be the enemy of good.

Don't let hidden fears prevent you from achieving your goal.

Trials in our lives can prepare us for future challenges.

Overcoming Failures and Moving Forward with Dominick Domasky
00:45:47

Dominick Domasky went to the school of hard knocks. Having learned the value of hard work first while working for his Dad at his landscaping business, he then went into the restaurant business. After a few years the restaurant failed and that was where one of his many lessons were learned.

Dominick has written several books. From the first that took nearly seven years to ones that did not take long at all. He gives advice about how to speak your thoughts into your voice recording app on your phone to writing something or working towards the goal each day.

Dominick is currently writing about his Mom's story and as she suffers through Alzheimers. He wants to tell the world what a great woman she has been throughout her life and her love between her and her son.

We have a few laughs in this conversation as well. Dominick is self effacing and yet he is really inspirational as he does not let his imperfections prevent him from encouraging others.

People Buy From People - with Brian Sexton
01:03:01

Brian comes from a small West Virginian town raised by great parents with values. His father was in sales for many years and Brian  honors his father with some of the great lessons he learned from him over the years.

We had an interesting chat about the way a bug zapper can be an analogy for salespeople. Where else would you get that comparison?

Also, selling with profit and knowing when to walk away. Some deals and opportunities are just not worth it as they can become energy drains.

Brian is a great human being who genuinely cares about others. That is a big reason for his success.

Achieving Excellence in Sales - With Fred Diamond
01:01:23

Conversation with Fred Diamond. Former marketing executive for Compaq computer and Apple that is now the President and Founder for the Institute for Excellence in Sales.

Fred gives all kinds of advice for people who need to sell to earn a living. For him, it was podcasting and doing webinars that continues to help build the funnel and providing real value for his clients.

Do you ask yourself, how do I bring value to people? Are you reactive or proactive? Most are reactive and say they respond quickly when needed.

Ask yourself this question: Why should someone meet with me?

If you are saying things like , I really would like to get to know you or love to better understand your company, then you need to think differently.

Fred is a great resource. He speaks about making phone calls with Art Sobczak and what salespeople are missing out on as well as challenges that face Fred in spite of his experience.

From Oppression to Freedom to Wholescence - With Laila Al-Alwan
01:41:54

Laila Al-Awan is a free woman who is living in the West. Listening to her journey is going to open your eyes as to how good we have it in free countries. She is now a coach that focuses on helping peope through Awareness. The amazing thing is, she showed that she was Aware of the lack of freedom in her country at a very young age. She started to question the beliefs and was told to keep quiet. These questions she was asking were clearly not to be asked, and especially by a young girl at the time.

Laila eventually was able to study in Canada and became who she is today and helps others with awareness. Most of us know about IQ. Some know about EQ or emotional intelligence, Awareness intelligence is different.

These are some of the ways that Laila is helping people today:
• Decreasing your stress and anxiety.
• Having more joy, confidence, peace and success.
• Increased awareness of yourself, your wants and your passions.
• Enhancement of both personal and professional sides of your life.

Laila is a person who truly cares about others. She has left behind her  family and culture but is selflessly helping others today to have a more positive journey in their lives.

Executing with Purpose - With Monte Pedersen
00:54:07

Would you say your business has knowledgeable employees that are committed and are working collaboratively for the success of the business? If so, congratulations!

However many struggle or are not where they want to be when it comes to executing their strategic initiatives.

Less than 15% of all organizations ascribe to any kind of system or process that helps them execute better

  • Most leadership teams assign work through functions or departments in the end hoping everything comes together and that objectives will be achieved
  • Over 70% of all CEO’s attribute their failure to achieve key strategic initiatives on a lack of execution

Leadership through the Lens of Execution is focused on putting your operational plan and results in order so that you can fully grow, develop and commit time to your people.

How to Overcome Any Adversity - With Terrance McMahon
01:05:49

No matter who you are and what's happened to you, you CAN recover from anything and achieve your wildest dreams.  Author, Terrance McMahon, takes us through his incredible transformation as he recovered from the brink of death and re-created himself to unleash his inner hero.

Yes some would say that Terrance had it all. He was a CEO earning over  a million dollars annually. He had his own personal driver and was living large. But it all caught up to him.

When Terrance went to the emergency room thinking he was having a heart attack, he found out that the diagnosis was even worse. His liver was destroyed and he at most would have a few months to live. He went from CEO to an alcoholic needing a liver transplant to live.

Terrance, humbly faced this sentence. He was going to recreate himself if given the chance. Not only did he put the bad habits behind him, but when the opportunity for a donor came, he completely turned his life around, re-creating himself into a better person, one who took the lessons of his previous life and uses those to help others.

He tells us about his use of algorithms. A set of practices that lead to a predictable outcome. Some algorithms have great outcomes, and others, can be disastrous.

Terrance's story can be found here with his Tedx Talk From Broken To Beautiful  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=02hAfz4QE5o

His website is here and you may still be able to download his book as a gift https://www.terrancemcmahon.com/

Terrance humorously refers to a comment by Woody Allen “There are worse things in life than death. Have you ever spent an evening with an insurance salesman?”

Leadership is Love in Action - with Brian Cuningham
01:09:08

How many people today are going into work today feel like their leader is clueless, doesn't understand them or may even be a total jerk?

After countless books and workshops over the years, we still have leadership issues in the world.

Think of it, most people are promoted after being succesful of doing some task well. Then they are put in a position of management and are told to get results. They look at their staff as either people that get the results or people that they need to replace. They are in charge and need to be taken seriously. It is their way or the highway, authoritarian is what they are.

Others, always need to be right. They use information to prove they are right and think their team should respect them for that. Being right, does not build trust.

Think about your role as a leader. Are you Aware? We all understand the need for emotional intelligence. Brian highlights the need for Awareness Intelligence. One has to be in the moment to truly be able to serve others well.

From a role of parking cars at a large hospital to transporting patients to becoming an occupational therapist to eventually leading a hospital as a CEO, Brian Cunningham has always had a desire to serve others.

This desire to serve has led him on a track in life to be a better leader and to serve more people and to help otthers too.

You can find Brian on Linkedin here and he will be happy to engage in conversation. https://www.linkedin.com/in/brian-cunningham-7478651b/

Leaders Lead Themselves First - with Tony Diekemper
01:06:23

Outstanding episode on Leadership.

Have you ever thought about contacting an author after reading a book? Imagine doing this back before there was an internet! The book was Quality is Free and it changed his life. https://www.amazon.com/Quality-Free-Art-Making-Certain/dp/0451625854

He learned such things as "Grow where you are planted. Do something to grow your circumstances and make an impact where you are."

The story about improving quality in the company for which Tony worked, is a great example of driving change.

Rosa Parks-Was she a leader? Who was with her on the bus? Who was she in charge of?

Most definitions of leadership vary based on the type of organization one is in. Fundamentally, leadership is having the ability to make decisions for oneself.

When you hear a CEO say that our employees are our best assets, what comes to your mind? Employees are people. Assets are owned. People are not owned.

When a CEO truly wants to help with the personal repsonsibility culture, they get involved  in the hiring process and determine early on if people are able to buy into the culture that everyone is a leader.

How does one measure themselves as a leader? Are you living your values? Are you functioning with integrity?

Performance Model: Performance Production and Behavior

How are they treating others?

Many will look at sales and justify the poorly behaving employee as acceptable as long as they are producing numbers.

A great servant leader is one who has their own life together, that is managing themselves well, they can in turn serve others.

Lessons learned starting at a young age while working in a restaurant.

What makes people miserable on the job? Typically its their supervisor that makes someone want to leave. Value statements may not match up wth the way people really treat each other.

Give candidates the opportunity to explain who they are as a person with a cultural interview.

Such a fantastic, loaded with value conversation. Enjoy. To find out more about Tony he can be found on Linkedin here:https://www.linkedin.com/in/anthony-diekemper-b9b8411/

Selling with Authentic Persuasion - With Jason Cutter
00:51:46

Jason Cutter

What can a salesperson learn from someone who seemingly avoided Sales and was a Marine Biologist that tagged sharks for a living?

Jason from his youth had a pretty negative idea as to what salespeople were like based on hearing stories from his mother who worked in a furniture store and heard the war stories from salespeople who took advantage of others. The feeling was that salespeople were out to get you!

He also had the not so fond memories of going to the car dealership every few years and watching the negative experience of salespeople trying to negotiate with his mother. The experience took hours and soured him on the idea of what sales can be.

Based on these 2 experiences it is no wonder that Jason went the complete opposite direction and went into the ocean to tag sharks.

When Jason got into sales, he felt he was advising and was taking orders. He also didn’t truly realize as a mortgage broker that he was really in sales. Like many he was untrained. He felt that the best way to show his authentic self was to give options that inevitably confused his clients until he learned the need to keep things simple.

What’s the worst outcome if someone doesn’t buy your product? If you know that you can help someone, you owe it to them. The problem is that most salespeople don’t ask enough questions to know or understand how their product or service cam make an impact in their business.

What’s the death of a thousand punches? What happens when a prospect asks a question when things are getting serious with real buying questions? Frequently inexperienced salespeople will pause when they respond to a question. This will open the door for additional questions that may take the conversation off track. The better course may be to respond and then move back to the process.

Jason is genuine with a broad range of knowledge in sales. He helps new people with a vision board so they can buy in to what truly motivates them, and the sales leader can work with their rep to help them get what they want without having to use either the carrot or stick.

Find out more about Jason here:https://www.linkedin.com/in/jascut/

How to Create Your Perfect Pitch - With Sarah Bauling
00:59:42

Is your Elevator Pitch boring? Do you attend networking meetings and when it is your turn to speak, do you feel confident in how you inform others as to who you are and what you can offer people?

Or....do you have word vomit and ramble on and watch people start to check their watch or their phone?

Putting a pitch together that will draw others to you, requires skill and practice. Sarah knows how to do this very well and can help you.

Another important factor is to know when to provide the Pitch. Unless you are asked to give it by someone either asking in a conversation or when your on "stage" at an event.

Giving the Pitch at the wrong time can cost you opportunities. So knowing when and where to do so, is just as important as to "how" you master the sales pitch.

This podcast schould help considerably. However there is so much more available on Sarah's website like this: Sarah Bauling

The Perfect Pitch Training will leave you with:

  • Understanding what an Elevator Pitch is.
  • Knowing the purpose of an Elevator Pitch.
  • The toolkit – the 7 foundational elements of The Perfect Pitch.
  • Knowing how to make The Perfect Pitch sizzle.
  • The preparation of what to expect after Your Perfect Pitch has been delivered.
  • How to deliver Your Perfect Pitch.

Save Time, Save Money, and Scale Your Business Virtually - With Daniel Ramsey
00:50:57

In this episode of Lead Sell Grow with the CEO of MyOutDesk, Daniel Ramsey, we discussed the challenges many small business owners have balancing activities that help grow the business and activities that just need to get done.

As an entrepreneur, he came to this realization firsthand during his honeymoon. While his bride slept, Daniel was taking care of the demands of his business.

Was there a better way to be able to run a business without the business running him?

Soon Daniel was working on a new business venture which became MyOutDesk.

Jobs that were once being done by a stressed out owner can now be outsourced and the owner can focus on what they do best, loving on their clients and growing their business.

Positions for administration, sales development, virtual assistants and more, can be outsourced at a fraction of the cost.

Check out the links and see that there is a better way,

Empower your people to be CEOs and build a winning culture - With Laurie Sallarulo
00:52:38

Junior Achievement of South Florida is impacting the lives of many young people today by helping them understand the world of business. Much of the success can be attributed to their passionate CEO who is driven to help others.

Laurie Sallarulo is not one for excuses. She likes to get things done and is not about making excuses. After a few months of mediocre results in her venture into the nonprofit world, she knew she had to make some changes to make things happen. And she did!

She learned much from her parents, her Dad, who was an avid baseball player and coach, after he was hired to be a baseball coach for a school, torched a field of brush to help create a baseball field after he was told there was no room in the budget to create one. That is "getting it done" ladies and gentlemen!

Her mom, started out as a substitute teacher to work her way up the chain to becoming a leading Administrator of the school department.

This helped shape Laurie as she began her career in the nonprofit sector. Expecting people that lead their department to be CEOs of that department, has helped dramatically in getting results.

Laurie leads the fundraising charge. Some say she is relentless. That's a good thing in the role that she's in. She knows that she is in the world of Sales and she will not stop in her pursuit. Just because one says No, doesn't mean she won't ask again. Whether that be for money, mentoring, sharing time or whatever else to help the journey.

Check out the website and consider volunteering or donating too.

From $100 to His Name to Becoming a Founder of a $10 Million Company - With Gene Leyzarovich
00:38:15

More than 25 years ago, Gene Leyzarovich arrived in his new home of Pittsburgh as a refugee from Russia. Only two years later, while he was completing his education at the University of Pittsburgh and working night shifts at UPMC, Gene founded Advanced Computer & Network Corporation (AC&NC) to build high-performance JetStor (US federal trademark) storage systems and he has never looked back. In over 23 years in business, AC&NC has installed its JetStor RAID (redundant array of independent disks) systems for over 4,000 clients in numerous locations in the United States, Canada, Asia, Eastern and Western Europe, and Australia. Under Gene's leadership, AC&NC has built a prestigious customer list that includes companies like Sony, Microsoft, Starbucks, CBS, and the fifthlargest food retailing company Supervalu. JetStor brand powers research in a wide range of disciplines at NASA, Department of Energy, National Institutes of Health, Naval Research Lab, NIST and Pittsburgh Supercomputing Center; supports the work of US Department of State; and helps strengthen world-renowned institutions, from Carnegie Mellon University to Duke University, Columbia University, Yale University, and Stanford University, to name a few. AC&NC has established a big presence in UK, with over 50% of UK Police forces relying on JetStor units. A finalist in the EY Entrepreneur of the Year 2016, Gene recognizes that risk-taking is an inherent part of running a small business that is in direct competition with multi-billion dollar corporations. The challenge of that competition and the thrill of coming ahead have motivated Gene to develop AC&NC as a nimble company that meets the customer's needs in creative and innovative ways, including his involvement with new partners at the development stages of new products. Gene has been a sponsor of USENIX, a 501(c)(3) Advanced Computing Systems Association, for 15 years. Gene has been a founding sponsor of the League of Professional System Administrators and a member of Pittsburgh Technology Council. Together with his family, Gene also supports the vibrancy and vitality of our region with contributions to Pittsburgh Opera and United Jewish Federation

Win the Relationship Not the Deal - With Casey Jacox
00:50:40

Casey Jacox

Win the Relationship Not The Deal author

The Quarterback Dadcast podcast host

Casey is a person that brings heart, common sense, passion, vulnerability and curiosity. He is a person that truly cares about humanity and using his story to encourage and inspire others.

For those who are athletes, most can reflect on a time when they had their first major injury. Casey was the high school star quarterback that had it all going his way and a bright future ahead. As a 17 year old, a season ending injury can be devastating.

At that age, there is not a lot to draw back on because it’s the first time. He dealt with doubt and depression and told his coach that it was a real struggle. What the coach did for Casey helped change his attitude and steered him in the direction where he could use that experience to empathetically inspire others.

Casey is using his curiosity to ask the questions in order to gain a better understanding of those who have different experiences in life. He is humble enough to know that seeing the world through his eyes only is not what the world truly is.

In the world of Sales, Casey is one of the Elite. He is truly about winning the relationship. It is no great surprise this has led him to be a top performer in a competitive industry. You can quickly learn from the podcast as to why he has been so successful.

Harry Spaight - The Back Story
00:30:40

Harry Spaight has a pretty unique background that paved his path to get into sales and sales leadership.

From his early 20s he was considerably involved in mission work. This helped develop his servant mindset. In his mid 30s after spending two years in the Dominican Republic, he and his wife came back to the states with nothing and needed to start over completely. In the D.R. Harry envisioned a view of himself as a travelling salesperson, selling technology.

From the first "job" in sales to landing the technology sales job, Harry has never looked back. He always put others first and applied the missionary mindset of serving others that led first to his success in sales and then eventually sales leadership.

What is your unique background? We all have something unique about us as individuals. This can help you to become succesful. People will like your story. Learn to serve others, and by helping people get what they want, you will get what you want in life, per Zig Ziglar.
