Description

Patrick Peterson and Bryant McFadden have made a living for their coverage skills on the football field, and while it's a different technique, they're now applying those traits on their podcast 'All Things Covered'. Instead of wide receivers, tight ends and running backs, they'll be covering sports, entertainment, social issues, personal interests and more. Every Wednesday, the 8-time Pro Bowler Peterson and 2-time Super Bowl champion McFadden will discuss what's happening on the gridiron as well as what intrigues them off the field. Each week they'll welcome a star from the sports and entertainment world to have wide-ranging conversations about what interests them. Guests can include active or former football players but also athletes and influencers from other sports and walks of life. Football is how we know our hosts, but far from what defines Pat and BMac. The name says everything; expect all things to be covered! You can also watch us on YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/c/AllThingsCovered

Derwin James on rehab process, Sean Taylor comparisons, Justin Herbert and Chargers' future
3690
We needed a little more Florida State representation on the podcast, so we brought on a guest that literally has a Seminole tatted on him. Derwin James joins All Things Covered to discuss his health, his versatility on the field and 2021 expectations for the Chargers (33:00) But first, our hosts chop it up on that viral video featuring Cam Newton and a young camper (1:45). What are the dangers of seeking social media fame? Patrick and Bryant also share their thoughts and emotions on the untimely passing of Vincent Jackson (8:00). Jackson was selected one spot ahead of BMac in the 2005 NFL Draft and played alongside Pat in two Pro Bowls. The guys were shocked and saddened to hear the news and hope the NFL continues to implement more programs to help retired players. We transition to 'Has Pat Heard!?' testing his knowledge of recent news events (18:30). Carson Wentz was traded, Tim Tebow retired from baseball and Deion Sanders made his head coaching debut. But how much did P2 know before we asked/told him? Next up is '21 Question' where you get to find out the most underrated players our duo have gone up against (26:15). Then, we welcome former first-round pick and former All-Pro, Derwin James (33:00). Derwin shares how his rehab process is going and informs us of a trip to the Bahamas he took alongside Pat and Jalen Ramsey to work on their craft. We learn how Polk County helped shape his football path, as did having several family members that would make it to the NFL. Derwin addresses the folklore that he lined up at nose guard in high school and speaks about his versatility on the field, which has garnered Sean Taylor comparisons. Derwin recollects his commitment to Florida State which was stamped with a tattoo during. Listen to hear 2018 Draft memories, thoughts on Justin Herbert and new Chargers coach Brandon Staley. Superlatives close us out as Derwin tells us who he hates more: Florida or Miami... Larry Foote details Tampa Bay's dominant defense and the impact Tom Brady & Antonio Brown had on Bucs locker room during Super Bowl season
4977
This week we welcome someone who was just crowned a Super Bowl champion for the third time in their football career, but for the first time as a coach. Bucs outside linebackers coach, and former teammate of both Patrick Peterson and Bryant McFadden, Larry Foote joins All Things Covered and shares some insight on Tom Brady's personality, Tampa Bay's game plan to disrupt the Chiefs and memories of playing with the Steelers and under the legendary Dick LeBeau (38:00). But first, our hosts chop it up on what sport they would have pursued more seriously if football hadn't panned out (1:30)? Pat's name has been in the headlines since high school so recent reports regarding his future with the Cardinals are nothing new for him to deal with. But how does he handle it all (7:30)? P2 and BMac then head around the league (11:45), catching up on an unhappy "curly-haired" Rusell Wilson and J.J. Watt's release from Houston. "Has Pat Heard?" tests what he has been tapped into in the past week (20:45) and the return of "21 Questions" gives the listeners the chance to ask the guys some questions (26:00). If you want to be a part of the show, leave a question attached to a 5-star review on Apple Podcasts and we could answer it on a future episode! Next, Larry Foote joins for a wildly entertaining conversation (38:00). Foote was college teammates with Tom Brady at Michigan so he's able to share a long history with the GOAT. We also learn about BMac's recruiting trip to Ann Arbor (hosted by Larry) and more secrets from that frigid weekend in 1999. Foote was not only a teammate of Pat and Bryant, but he also was a former teammate of Antonio Brown and details what it was like adding him to the Bucs roster midseason. The trio also covers the NFL's hiring process, Bruce Arians' staff-building technique, the keys to Super Bowl LV and coaching Jason Pierre-Paul and Shaquil Barrett. There's lots of Bucs talk but also plenty of focus on the Steelers and Cardinals as well. We test trivia knowledge and finish with Superlatives as always and as the trash talk continues! Super Bowl LV Recap: Tom Brady gets 7th ring, Todd Bowles' scheme limits Patrick Mahomes and Chiefs + Addressing Pat's NFL future, legacy & Hall of Fame hopes
2943
We have a new NFL champion, even if the Super MVP is a familiar face. But despite the biggest sporting event in the country taking place on Sunday night, our very own Patrick Peterson's name was able to sneak into the news on Monday morning. So, we open the show by addressing rumors that Pat and the Cardinals are preparing for a split after 10 seasons (1:10). Then, P2 and Bryant McFadden shift back to the Bucs 31-9 victory over the Chiefs in Super Bowl LV (5:00) Immense credit is due for former a lot of former Arizona coaches that are now with Tampa Bay. Pat once again shares his feelings towards Bruce Arians and speaks about the diverse staff he has put together. Todd Bowles has deservedly gotten a lot of praise as well for how his scheme was able to limit the Chiefs high-octane offense and the best player in the game, Patrick Mahomes. The guys think Tom Brady could now be the greatest team-sport athlete of all time in addition to already being the football GOAT. We cover some officiating blunders and some scraps involving defensive backs including Antoine Winfield vs. Tyreek Hill and Tyrann Mathieu vs. Brady. Now that the 2020 season is officially over, Pat shares what he'll remember most about this unprecedented year (28:00). 2021 Pro Football Hall of Fame announcements were made over the weekend so Pat's legacy is examined on this episode (34:35) How much does he think about his Hall of Fame chances and does he think he'll one day get to Canton? 1741
After two fantastic conversations with a Hall of Famer and upcoming Super Bowl LV participant (that you can find in your feed now), hosts Patrick Peterson and Bryant McFadden are ready to break down Chiefs vs. Bucs themselves. But first, a lighter approach to the big game (1:00). We learn the first Super Bowl our guys remember watching, their favorite game day snacks and their dream halftime shows. Lavonte David shares shock over Tom Brady signing with the Bucs last offseason and previews Super Bowl LV matchup vs Chiefs
1873
It's not typical for a Super Bowl participant to sit down for an extensive conversation with the media the week of the big game. But we're not your typical media. On this episode, Bucs standout linebacker Lavonte David joins Patrick Peterson and Bryant McFadden to discuss his journey, Tom Brady, the Super Bowl and more! First, Lavonte clears up questions about his health heading into Sunday, before diving into his winding path that led him to this moment. With 3 South Florida guys on the show, we examine if Broward County (home of Pat and BMac) or Dade County (home of Lavonte) produces the better football players. Lavonte has somehow only made 1 Pro Bowl and he shares why he thinks he remains overlooked. He also speaks openly about some of the dark days with Tampa before the organization turned around with the signing of Tom Brady this offseason. Our guest was in complete shock when the move happened and even more surprised when the GOAT Facetimed him. Brady's will to win comes through clear in an example Lavonte gives us that happened after the Bucs NFC title game victory. Let's not forget about the addition of Antonio Brown... P2, BMac and Lavonte also cover keys to victory vs. the Chiefs, the odds of a defensive player winning Super Bowl MVP and pregame nerves that might occur. Of course, we wrap with Superlatives! 3096
It's a super-sized Super Bowl week edition of All Things Covered! Bryant McFadden welcomes former teammate and Pro Football Hall of Famer, Jerome Bettis, to discuss Super Bowl XL memories, the famous card games the Steelers had, Pittsburgh's current situation and much more. Jerome first details what led him to pick the Steelers over the Oilers when the Rams gave him a choice of trade destinations. We then hear the real reason why JB decided to return to the NFL for one final season in 2005 after serious pondering retirement. That decision allowed him to become a Super Bowl champion the following season. The Bus shares his mentality towards team-building and recalls some epic card games those Pittsburgh teams were known for. The guys continue to chat about Super Bowl 40, exploring Willie Parker's run and Bill Cowher's coaching style. Ben Roethlisberger is likely sticking around, but how about JuJu Smith-Schuster and James Conner? Superlatives round out the show as we throw out the impossible: 'Who is on the Mount Rushmore of All-Time Steelers?' There are some tremendous names that had to be left off. Brandon Jacobs relives Giants' Super Bowl wins over the Patriots and examines Eli's legacy and Saquon's future in New York
4531
All Things Covered already features one 2-time Super Bowl champion, but on this episode we welcomed another. Brandon Jacobs joined hosts Patrick Peterson and Bryant McFadden to discuss his experiences beating Tom Brady and the Patriots, the 2005 RB draft class, Eli Manning's legacy and much more (29:00). But first, Pat and BMac do their thing. They start by remembering the life and career of Kobe Bryant, nearly a year after his tragic death (1:15). The guys then shift focus to the conference championship games (4:45), exploring tons of angles from Bucs-Packers. Can we agree on the Brady vs. Belichick debate now or is that still ongoing? Will Aaron Rodgers remain in Green Bay? P2 shares his thoughts on Matt LaFleur's controversial decisions from Sunday, while BMac is disgusted with a defensive play call from before halftime. Pat is thrilled for some familiar faces who will be appearing in the Super Bowl including Bruce Arians, Todd Bowles and first ever All Things Covered guest, Tyrann Matheiu. Then, we debut a new segment called "Has Pat Heard!?" as we check in with what he may have missed as he fully embraces "offseason mode" (21:45). Next, Brandon Jacobs joins the podcast (29:00). He answers if he'll be rooting for Tom Brady in the Super Bowl, the challenges of advancing as a Wild Card team and his thoughts on the recent resurgence from Leonard Fournette. Brandon is a big man and comments on the disadvantages of playing running back at over 6'4. He also shares his high school and college journey from JUCO to backing up Ronnie Brown and Cadillac Williams to Southern Illinois. Jacobs shares what it was like taking over the starting role for the Giants after Tiki Barber retired and the confidence the team felt facing the Patriots in Super Bowl 42. Does David Tyree have the best Super Bowl catch of all time? Well, not if BMac has his say about a personal Steelers memory. Brandon is certain that Eli Manning is a no-brainer Hall of Famer, but isn't so sure of Saquon Barkley's future in New York. Finally, we hit our Superlative and hear who is the best backfield in NFL history.  'All Things Covered' is available on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, Stitcher, Google Podcasts, Castbox and wherever else you listen to podcasts.  You can listen to All Things Covered on your smart speakers! 6157
This week we welcome one of the toughest competitors the NFL has seen, Steve Smith Sr. (40:00). Steve shares his battles vs Pat, advice for those following the JUCO route and thoughts on Lamar Jackson and one of his former teams, the Ravens. But first, hosts Patrick Peterson and Bryant McFadden chop it up on influential figures in their football lives (1:20). Next, it's time to revisit the NFL Divisional Round (8:00). There has been an outcry towards the touchback rule that was on display in Browns vs. Chiefs, but our DBs don't mind the rule at all. You have to give defenses something! The guys also discuss what was like Drew Brees final game with the Saints plus Davante Adams vs. Jalen Ramsey. P2 and BMac look ahead to the conference championship matchups and then focus on Deshaun Watson and the possibility the Texans star QB is traded this offseason (30:00). The Panthers Hall of Honor member remembers the team's Super Bowl run in 2003 and his stellar 2005 season. Then, the current NFL Network analyst and podcast host addresses his transition into media and breaks down the Ravens offense and Lamar Jackson. 4263
This episode will make you wanna say "uhh." That's right, hip hop legend Master P is our special guest (28:30), as he covers his hip hop career, sports career and entrepreneurial endeavors. But first, hosts Patrick Peterson and Bryant McFadden link up on what's happening with them and what's happening in the NFL. Pat is now in offseason mode, but what does "offseason mode" look like (1:30)? Next, the guys cover the most interesting storylines from the Wild Card Round (4:45), including the Steelers suffering an early playoff exit, Lamar Jackson winning his first postseason game, and the Rams defense dominating the Seahawks. They also react to the All Pro teams being announced with a focus on the secondary (13:35). Jalen Ramsey, Xavien Howard, Tyrann Mathieu, Budda Baker and Minkah Fitzpatrick represent the defensive backs. Did the voters get it right? Our DBs weigh in. P2 and BMac then lookahead to the Divisional Round (16:20), with an emphasis on top WR-CB matchups like DaVante Adams vs. Jalen Ramsey and Mike Evans vs. Marshon Lattimore. We head to the college ranks as Alabama has won another title (20:15). Ho hum. The real focal point is the brilliant play of Heisman Trophy winner Devonta Smith. Pat thinks he'll have no issues translating to the next level, while BMac compares Smith's game to both Marvin Harrison and DeSean Jackson. High praise! Then, it's time to welcome the icon, Master P (28:30)! The New Orleans native shares his love for the Saints and his love for hoops that nearly became another professional career. He talks about his stints in the NBA and getting into preseason games as well as a pickup game he played against Michael Jordan. And now, he wants to compete against MJ again. But this time in the shoe game. Master P details his interest in buying Reebok and his plans to make Allen Iverson the featured face of the brand. Pick your title for P...He gets to wear the movie producer cap as we ask about his film career, the music producer label as we learn his top 5 artists he signed to No Limit Records, and the role of Dad as we hear about his basketball-playing sons. Master P continues to explain why he never worked much with Young Money and his lack of interest in doing a Verzuz battle. As always, Superlatives signal the end of the conversation, but not before getting his Mount Rushmore of New Orleans rappers and some Tracy McGrady/Vince Carter memories.  'All Things Covered' is available on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, Stitcher, Google Podcasts, Castbox and wherever else you listen to podcasts.  You can listen to All Things Covered on your smart speakers! Ryan Clark shares what made Sean Taylor and Troy Polamalu so special at safety plus Steelers memories
5533
Another week, another LSU Tiger on All Things Covered. Ryan Clark shares the same college as Patrick Peterson and once shared the same dorm room at Steelers Training Camp with Bryant McFadden (34:15). The guys chat about those LSU days, RC playing safety alongside Sean Taylor and Troy Polamalu and the top safeties in the league today. But first, we unfortunately have to recap the unceremonious end to the Arizona Cardinals season (1:30). Pat breaks down how big a blow it was to lose Kyler Murray on the opening drive, the job the defense did vs. backup John Wolford and some questionable calls and no calls surrounding DeAndre Hopkins. P2 then sums up the season as a whole and addresses his future as he is set to become a free agent this offseason. Could Sunday have been his final game in a Cardinals uniform? The guys then tackle news from around the league (19:30), including Doug Pederson's curious and somewhat obvious tanking effort to gift wrap Washington the NFC East. Should players lose respect over that move? We also examine what it's like to go through a coaching change and look ahead to the most dangerous teams in the playoffs. Next, it's time to welcome our guest, Ryan Clark (34:15). Ryan details what led to him signing with the Tigers and then credits Pat for creating the legacy of 'DBU'. RC played for Nick Saban in college and knew 20 years ago that he was destined to become one of the greatest coaches ever. The conversation shifts to Ryan's time in the league and the relationship he formed with Sean Taylor. He believes Taylor could have gone down as one of the greatest safeties of all time. We revisit the torturous 2007 Steelers Training Camp led by Mike Tomlin and a life-changing incident that happened to Ryan in Denver later that season. RC is known for his big hits, but there was none bigger than the one he put on Willis McGahee in the 2008 AFC Championship Game. The memory is foggy due to the play, but BMac clearly remembers. We finish with superlatives and learn the player Ryan wishes he could have laid a hit on and the best player he ever played with!  'All Things Covered' is available on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, Stitcher, Google Podcasts, Castbox and wherever else you listen to podcasts.  Follow Pat on Instagram and Twitter Follow BMac on Instagram and Twitter Produced by: @E_DeBerardinis Visit the All Things Covered YouTube channel: https://www.youtube.com/allthingscovered For more NFL coverage from CBS Sports, visit https://www.cbssports.com/nfl/ To hear more from the CBS Sports Podcast Network, visit https://www.cbssports.com/podcasts/ Learn more about your ad choices. It's our biggest guest yet! Literally and figuratively. Shaquille O'Neal joins Patrick Peterson and Bryant McFadden on All Things Covered to chat about Kobe Bryant, LeBron James, today's NBA and much more (36:30). But first, P2 and BMac chop it up. They recall their fondest memories of college bowl season (1:20), before making picks for the College Football Playoff (6:55). Alabama and Clemson are the favorites, but can they both win and cover? Next, the guys focus on the Arizona Cardinals, who essentially have a Week 17 playoff game. Pat breaks down the opportunity of a win-and-you're-in game and looks ahead to the Rams matchup (10:45) LA will be missing Jared Goff and starting John Wolford for the first time, which could present a unique set of challenges. He also updates us on the status of Kyler Murray and his readiness for this Sunday. Our hosts turn their attention to what's happening around the league with a focus on Dwayne Haskins (20:30). On a related note, Booger McFarland made some controversial comments about Black athletes pursuing their brand over on-field performance and that didn't sit well with BMac. After the serious stuff, we welcome the legendary and hilarious Shaquille O'Neal to All Things Covered (36:30). Shaq shares how difficult 2020 was and insight on his relationship with Kobe Bryant. The Diesel also details what he's like as a "sports dad" with his son Shareef currently playing at LSU. The Big Aristotle remembers linking up with Phil Jackson and the promises the Zen Master made to get him to the next level. Superman then talks about the King's quest to pass Kareem in all-time points scored and match Michael Jordan in titles, letting us in on LeBron's mindset. Shaq Fu goes on to cover his role in the media, the state of big men in today's NBA and the ongoing James Harden saga. 2860
On this special episode, Bryant McFadden welcomes Georgia head coach Kirby Smart to discuss his career, the Bulldogs and the state of college football. And these two go way back! Smart picked up BMac at the airport on his official visit to UGA in December of 1999 and 21 years later, they chop it up on All Things Covered. He also shares his thoughts on the College Football Playoff and which teams deserved to make the field this year (7:15). Justin Fields is in the playoff but used to be at UGA, as we hear a reason that may have pushed him to the transfer portal (11:00). Kirby also discloses his Heisman Trophy pick, and it's someone Georgia fans are unfortunately very familiar with (13:15). The conversation then shifts to an interesting career path (16:30) that included stops at Florida State as a GA, where he encountered BMac once again, linking up with Nick Saban at LSU, then following him to the Dolphins and Alabama and finally getting his chance to be a head coach at his alma mater. LaVar Ball expresses desire for sons to play on the same team, how LaMelo is so NBA ready and why he'd beat Michael Jordan 1-on-1
4908
On a show that features big ballers on a weekly basis, it's only right that we welcome THE Big Baller himself, LaVar Ball (42:00). LaVar brings the passion as he always does, discussing his three sons, their basketball journeys and much more. But first, our ballers, Patrick Peterson and Bryant McFadden, talk what's trending. P2 posted a flashy pregame fit on Instagram this week, so we had to discuss fashion during our 'Choppin It Up' segment (1:15). You'll get insight on how decisions are made before you see your favorite players enter (and exit) the stadium on gameday. Next, it's time to check in with the Cardinals who won again on Sunday (8:00). Pat breaks down the victory over the Eagles, what caused him to be so animated during the game and what Philly might have found in quarterback Jalen Hurts. He also looks ahead to the Week 16 matchup vs. the 49ers and reacts to Arizona's Pro Bowl selections. Then, we head around the league and cover the shocking news that the Jets finally won (21:15)! Also, Tyreek Hill was spotted drinking pickle juice on the sideline this past week which caused a buzz on the internet (26:00). Pat and BMac share some of their in-game remedies that you'd probably never guess. Jerry Rice or Randy Moss (30:00)? That debate was recently sparked up again as our corners tell us their WR GOAT. And with the NBA season set to begin, the guys give their preseason predictions that we'll be sure to check in on at a later date (36:15). The focus stays on basketball as LaVar Ball joins All Things Covered (42:00). LaVar is confident that LaMelo will be the best of his three sons and explains exactly why. He also makes it clear that he wants all of his kids to play on the same team again like they did in high school, with the Charlotte Hornets as the destination that makes the most sense. LaVar comments on why LiAngelo's time with the Pistons was cut short, Lonzo's ability to make everyone around him better and the status of Big Baller Brand. You know it wouldn't be a chat with LaVar without him calling out Michael Jordan. Our guest is not backing down from that 1-on-1 proposal with MJ and remains confident in his ability to win. Antonio Cromartie breaks down how to fix the Jets, his relationship with Darrelle Revis and an unbreakable NFL record he set in 2007
5447
This week, we had the unique opportunity to chat with someone who was a teammate with both of our hosts. Antonio Cromartie, who played in the pros with Pat in Arizona and in college with BMac at Florida State, joins All Things Covered for a lengthy conversation in which nothing is held back (31:15)! But first, our guys chop it up themselves. Ever wonder what a team plane ride looks like for professional athletes? Patrick and Bryant fill us in on some of the shenanigans that may occur (1:00). Next, it's time to check in with the Cardinals who were able to snap a 3-game losing streak this past weekend (11:20). P2 details how they dismantled the Giants and how they plan to account for Jalen Hurts and the Eagles in their next matchup (16:45). National Signing Day (the early version) is set for Wednesday, as our two former number one overall cornerback recruits in the country recall their experiences (22:55). All Things Covered then has the pleasure to welcome on the first cornerback guest in show history, as Antonio Cromartie links up with Pat and BMac to discuss his entire career (31:15). Cro shares how he landed with the Seminoles, the adversity he faced after tearing his ACL prior to his junior season and memorable interactions with Coach Mickey Andrews. We then delve into his pro career focusing on a standout 2007 season highlighted by a 109-yard missed kick returned for a touchdown, a record that won't ever be broken. Antonio talks about his time with the Jets and Darrelle Revis as well as kneeling for the national anthem while with the Colts, a decision that he believes effectively ended his time in the NFL. Odell Beckham Jr. remembers 'The Catch' and details frustrations with the Giants and his reputation
4653
We've delivered stars as guests on a weekly basis, but this week delves into true celebrity status. The one and only Odell Beckham Jr. joins All Things Covered (36:30) for a wide-ranging conversation on his health, being misunderstood, his time with the Giants and much more. But first, our guys Patrick Peterson and Bryant McFadden chop it up. OBJ is a mega-star, but the All Things Covered hosts certainly have plenty of fan interactions of their own. P2 and BMac each share some of their most memorable fan encounters (1:15). Next, it's time to check in on the Arizona Cardinals, who are on a 3-game losing streak right now (9:05). Pat shares what the team has to change to get right before breaking down the big battle between Jalen Ramsey and DeAndre Hopkins from this past weekend and looking ahead at the upcoming matchup vs. the Giants. Then, we take a look at what's trending around the league (27:15) including a hard-to-believe defensive play call that allowed the Raiders to win and the Jets to remain winless. What would our defensive backs have done if they were on the field and got that call? Plus, Brian Flores continues to earn respect from the Dolphins and around the league. The wait for OBJ is over as Pat and BMac welcome another former LSU Tiger to the podcast (36:30). Beckham Jr. is currently rehabbing from a torn ACL and shares what that process has been like both physically and mentally. The Odell Beckham-Jarvis Landry connection and friendship is well documented, but we hear more about what makes 'Juice' such a special guy. Odell continues to open up about constantly dealing with misconceptions around him not only as a player, but as a person. We also revisit the play and more accurately, 'The Catch' that catapulted him to overnight superstardom. For such a global presence, does OBJ ever get starstruck himself? Pat and BMac learn about Odell's prior intentions to retire a Giant and what went wrong in New York before firing some rapid-fire questions his way. Justin Jefferson reacts to Randy Moss comparisons, Offensive Rookie of the Year talk and Griddy phenomenon
4746
All things are covered on this episode featuring Vikings standout WR Justin Jefferson (54:00). But before we get to one of the best rookies in the game, our hosts Patrick and Bryant chop it up on their favorite sports traditions (1:45), before checking in with the state of the Arizona Cardinals (8:40). Larry Fitzgerald tested positive for COVID-19 last week, which hurt the game plan in the loss to the Patriots. What else went wrong in New England and is Kyler Murray fully healthy? Pat answers the tough questions before looking ahead to this week's matchup vs the Rams, with particular insight on Cooper Kupp and Robert Woods. Next, P2 and BMac go around the league, with plenty more COVID news to discuss (23:40). The Steelers are upset with the Ravens and how the NFL has handled postponements...Is their frustration justified? And the Broncos were forced into an emergency situation at QB on Sunday, could Pat ever fulfill that role if needed!? The guys also address Bruce Arians calling out Tom Brady, Tyreek Hill's monster performance vs the Bucs and tap into boxing with reaction to Mike Tyson vs. Roy Jones Jr. and Jake Paul vs. Nate Robinson (46:15). Then, we welcome record-setting rookie, Justin Jefferson, to the show (54:00). How exactly did he go from an unheralded recruit to the best 1st-year receiver in the league? Jamal Adams opens up on going through depression while with the Jets, trade to Seahawks and his reputation
6322
On this episode, not only do we get to dissect the Game of the Year that Pat was a part of, but we also had the chance to have an hour-long conversation with Jamal Adams of the Seattle Seahawks. Jamal truly opened up on his time with the Jets, how that situation devolved and eventually led to his departure from New York. But first, shoutout to former ATC guest DeAndre Hopkins! It was another wild finish for the Cardinals and P2 had a prime view of the 'Hail Murray', a moment that could truly change the trajectory of Arizona's season (1:00). We get the full breakdown plus analysis on near-interceptions and actual interceptions from Sunday's game vs. the Bills. The focus then shifts to Seattle on Thursday Night Football and another matchup with DK Metcalf (21:30). Expect Russell Wilson and the Seahawks to try and get DK involved early. Pat then comments on the mutual respect between him and Calvin Johnson and the battles they had while Megatron was in the NFL (25:50). As we go around the league, the guys touch on Drew Brees' injury (32:30) and which cornerbacks are at the top of their game right now (35:50). Pat was once an elite college prospect, but would he have opted out in a season like this (38:00)? Now, it's time to welcome one of the best safeties out there, Jamal Adams, to All Things Covered (43:15). And he follows through on the theme of the show, covering it all from his decision to attend LSU, to his time with the Jet to his friendship with Michael Jordan, to the online hate he receives. Jamal shares about feeling disrespected in New York and even going through bouts of depression due to the circumstances and how his career was going (58:30). Chanel West Coast on success of Ridiculousness, Kobe Bryant episode and her music career
1334
We're back with another bonus episode this week and another very special guest, specifically for Pat. He has mentioned before on the pod that his favorite show is Ridiculousness, so we felt it was only right to welcome on Chanel West Coast. Chanel discusses that famous laugh of hers and details her music career before diving into her TV career. Chanel has a new album out (which you can stream anywhere!) and one song even has a football-focused title. She shares about shedding perceptions as a white rapper, her relationship with Lil Wayne and Young Money and how she balances parallel careers in the entertainment world. Then it's P2's time to shine as the focus turns to a show he watches constantly. Chanel covers what makes Ridiculousness so popular among so many groups of people and talks about how special it was to have Kobe Bryant on an episode before his passing. All that and much more on this bonus episode of All Things Covered! Brandon Marshall on post-football purpose, best WRs in football, relationship with Jay Cutler
4924
On the latest episode of All Things Covered, we welcome a guest that has been just as active after football as he was during his playing days. Brandon Marshall is all over right now, so we were lucky enough to chat with him about everything from mental health to the best wide receivers in the game in 2020. But before our chat with Brandon, Patrick and Bryant cover a ton as well. The election has dominated the news cycle and the results offer an important message for our hosts to be able to share with their kids (1:00). The Cardinals suffered a difficult defeat to the Dolphins on Sunday, as Pat breaks down some of Tua's success while also looking ahead to this week's matchup vs. the Bills (4:00). How much longer does P2 have left in the league? He answers that and also dissects what's happening in the NFL at the moment (22:30) including JJ Watt possibly seeking a trade, Golden Tate being benched by the Giants and (former ATC guest) JuJu Smith-Schuster being denied a touchdown celebration. It's rivalry week as Pat remembers his favorite LSU-Alabama moment (30:45). It's also Masters Week so we had to give our official picks. Then, we turn our attention to our guest (39:15). Brandon Marshall is a 13-year NFL vet but he's also the founder of House of Athlete, a co-host on the I Am Athlete podcast, a co-host on First Things First on FS1 and an analyst on Inside the NFL. We cover it all, and he literally does it all. Pat and BMac's conversation with Brandon centers around post-football purpose and why there can still be great things to achieve after the glory days have ended. The guys discuss the heavy emphasis Brandon places on mental health for not only athletes, but the general public. Then, they get into that impressive 13-year playing career, breaking down Brandon's brief time playing safety in college, his relationship with former QB Jay Cutler, his record-setting 21-catch single game performance in 2009, the best WRs in the NFL today and the budding Mike Evans vs. Marshon Lattimore rivalry. Jon Rahm on 2020 Masters, Tiger Woods, 66-foot putt to win BMW Championship & showing emotions in golf
4186
The Masters is less than two weeks away, so it's only right we welcome our first golf guest and one of the best in the world right now, Jon Rahm (39:30). But before Rahmbo joins the podcast, Patrick and Bryant do their thing. We know a good amount about our hosts from their college and pro days, but on this episode, the guys take you back to high school and share some of their best recruiting stories. Then, we check in on the Cardinals coming off their bye week. The team announced two players had tested positive for COVID-19, so what further precautions are being taken? Pat answers that as well as discussing his relationship with head coach Kliff Kingsbury and what the mood is like around the trade deadline. Also, we have to preview the Dolphins game and the matchup with Tua Tagovailoa, who will be making his 2nd career NFL start. Next, Pat and BMac take a look around the league focusing on a strange fight in the Bears-Saints game, the Steelers remaining unbeaten and Dez Bryant getting signed to the Ravens practice squad. Then it's time to welcome Jon Rahm. Jon details his excitement for the Masters, who he expects to contend with and if Tiger Woods has a shot to defend his 2019 victory. We can't forget about that epic 66-foot putt to win the BMW Championship in a playoff back in August! Pat and BMac also get a better understanding of Jon's journey from a small town in Spain to Arizona State to the #1 golfer in the world. Rahmbo shares how he gained a better understanding of the English language and it's probably not what you think! Jon is known for his fiery attitude on the course, but why is that accepted in other sports but frowned upon in golf? Don't miss this wide-ranging episode! DeAndre Hopkins on split with Texans, relationship with Kyler Murray, Cardinals win over Seahawks & NFL's social justice efforts
4492
Fresh off a thrilling Sunday Night Football victory over the Seahawks, Patrick Peterson catches up with Bryant McFadden for Episode 6 of All Things Covered. And not only do we have Pat talking about that epic game, we have his new teammate, DeAndre Hopkins, to join the conversation as well. That comes a little later, but first, what music gets our hosts fired up when it's almost game time (1:00)? Next, where do we even start with Week 7 (4:30)...The end seems like a good spot, as the guys analyze overtime including Kliff Kingsbury's questionable decision to kick on 2nd down plus a huge play from rookie Isaiah Simmons, that P2 just so happened to predict pregame. The viral moment of the night and maybe the year belonged to DK Metcalf chasing down Budda Baker. What was running through Pat's mind as he was trailing the play? And does Budda deserve some slack? Pat locked down Metcalf and recorded another interception, but due to a few beautiful throws and catches from Russell Wilson and Tyler Lockett, it wasn't a perfect night. Hey, it happens to the game's greatest, so stop hating over a play or two. We get an informed breakdown of some more notable moments as well as how this bye week will look different than others. BMac and Pat then cover what else is happening around the NFL (27:00), including a season-ending injury for Odell Beckham Jr, Antonio Brown signing with the Bucs, anonymous Cowboys players calling out their coaches and some questionable criticism of Cam Newton delivered by former QB Jeff Garcia. Then, Nuk Hopkins joins the program (42:30). The guys have a wide-ranging conversation focusing on everything from his dominant days as a defensive back in high school, the NFL's social justice initiatives, his relationship (or lack thereof) with Bill O'Brien and budding relationship with Kyler Murray. DeAndre shares stories from growing up in South Carolina to attending Clemson to Houston and finally Arizona. Don't miss this episode! J.R. Smith on Lakers Bubble title, LeBron's leadership, future for Anthony Davis, favorite pair of Kobe's
4135
This is not just a football podcast! On Episode 5, we're truly living up to the name 'All Things Covered'. We hit our normal check-ins with Patrick Peterson and the Arizona Cardinals (10:15) and the rest of the NFL (22:30), but also catch up with newly crowned (for the second time) NBA champion J.R. Smith of the Los Angeles Lakers for a wide-ranging conversation (34:00). Hey, athletes aren't perfect. To open the pod, Pat and BMac admit to some mistakes they made early in their careers. There weren't many mistakes from the Cardinals on Monday Night Football, as P2 details the dominant effort vs. the Cowboys which included plenty of celebrating and a breakout performance from Budda Baker. Next up is a daunting matchup with the Seattle Seahawks. Pat shares what makes 2nd-year wide receiver D.K. Metcalf such a difficult cover plus where Russell Wilson ranks among the league's best quarterbacks. The guys also chat about the Dolphins surprising decision to name Tua Tagovailoa their starting QB, plus Le'Veon Bell's fit with the Chiefs. Then, the champ is here! J.R. Smith won a title in the bubble just over a week ago and now joins us to reflect on the Lakers run and his unique role with the team. Did he show up wearing a shirt? Well, you might have to head over to our YouTube channel for that answer. J.R. explains what makes LeBron James such an incredible teammate and how much he puts into his body and his game. Mike Tomlin on Big Ben's future, Steelers' WR success, lack of minority coaches in the NFL
2427
Episode 4 of All Things Covered has arrived and it's a special one. Not only did Pat's and Bryant's Lakers capture the NBA title on Sunday (1:00)...Not only did the Cardinals take care of business against the Jets (5:35)...But we also got to have a conversation that doesn't happen very often. The guys are joined by BMac's former head coach, Mike Tomlin, of the currently 4-0 Pittsburgh Steelers (16:30). Before we get to Coach T, there's some catching up to do. P2 was traveling from the East Coast to the West Coast so he didn't get to see a second of Game 6, but obviously got good news once he landed. Are our co-hosts genuine fans or just part of the recent bandwagon? Then it's Cardinals Check-In as we discuss the false positive COVID-19 test that threatened Sunday's game, DeAndre Hopkins continuing to ball out and Chandler Jones' unfortunate injury. Next up is the Cowboys on Monday Night Football. Dak Prescott's injury was devastating to watch and definitely changes the game plan for Arizona heading into their primetime matchup. The new goal: make Andy Dalton beat you. After the break, Mike Tomlin hops on for a wide-ranging conversation on the Steelers' strong start, having Ben Roethlisberger back and how Pittsburgh keeps finding wide receiver gems. Tomlin has been around a lot of great defensive players during his career, but who are the very best? He also has some of the best quotes in the business, as we explore famous Tomlinisms as BMac likes to call them. The focus then shifts to minority coaches in the NFL, addressing changes that need to be made. It's a comfortable version of Coach you don't often get to see or hear, so don't miss it! COVID-19 impacts the NFL, Earl Thomas can't find a job and Bill O'Brien is out of one
3266
We're back for the 3rd episode of All Things Covered. Co-hosts Patrick Peterson and Bryant McFadden first chop it up regarding jersey swaps in the NFL and memorabilia collections (1:30). How do those jersey swaps you often see (but not this year) come about? And is the criticism that follows fair? We check in on the Cardinals, who just dropped their second straight game after opening the season 2-0 (12:30). Pat gives an in-depth breakdown on his first interception of the season and answers why we haven't seen 8th overall pick Isaiah Simmons on the field very often before looking ahead to their Week 5 matchup vs. the Jets. P2 and BMac then go around the league (27:35), discussing how COVID-19 has impacted things in the past week while also addressing Bill O'Brien's firing on Monday and Earl Thomas being unable to find a new home. The Lakers dropped Game 3 on Sunday, but the guys remain confident (39:30). Now, the NBA has done a good job promoting racial equality and exercising your right to vote---how is the NFL following suit? Lastly, it's '21 Questions' as Pat describes the difficulty in defending Julio Jones (48:30). JuJu Smith-Schuster on future with Steelers, friendship with Sam Darnold and playing for Snoop Dogg
4442
We're back for the 2nd episode of All Things Covered. This week, co-hosts Patrick Peterson and Bryant McFadden cover the Cardinals 1st loss of 2020 and COVID-19 protocols around the league before welcoming Steelers and social media star, JuJu Smith-Schuster. Before all that the guys chop it up about their favorite TV shows and certain personalities within those shows. The Cardinals suffered their first loss of 2020 and as P2 says (with credit to Bruce Arians) "good teams don't lose twice". Arizona matches up with the Panthers next as Pat breaks down what to expect from the likes of DJ Moore and Robby Anderson and how they differ from the problems the Lions presented. AJ Terrell of the Falcons became the 1st player to land on the reserve/COVID-19 list during the season, so how are veterans sending a message to the younger players on their teams? And what type of testing does Pat go through on a daily basis? The guys are thrilled the Lakers are in the NBA Finals but will a 'Bubble Title' hold the same meaning? P2 then explains the reasoning behind #RevengeSZN. It's always good to take a trip down 'Memory Lane' as BMac revisits an epic night on the eve of Super Bowl 43. We dive deeper into Pat's golf hobby within our '21 Questions' segment. Next, it's time to bring on special guest JuJu Smith-Schuster of the Steelers. Big Ben is back and Pittsburgh is 3-0 which has JuJu and Steeler Nation happy. The 4th-year pro talks everything from playing for Coach Snoop Dogg in youth football, the elite level of talent at his high school and nearly playing safety at USC. He also touches on his contract situation, social media approach and interest in the gaming world. What was the best game of his career? Our conversation with JuJU ends on Superlatives like "Best Touchdown Celebration of All Time" and "Toughest CB Matchup". The answers may surprise you! Tyrann Mathieu on LSU Days, Patrick Mahomes' greatness, Chiefs' title defense
4553
Week 2 just wrapped up in the NFL but it's Week 1 for the All Things Covered podcast. On this debut episode, co-hosts Patrick Peterson and Bryant McFadden catch up on the Cardinals season (8:30), injuries around the league and their beloved Lakers before welcoming a very special guest and former teammate of Pat's, Tyrann Mathieu (36:30). First, meet your hosts beyond the football field. Now that that's settled, the Cardinals are off to a 2-0 start and Kyler Murray is firmly in the MVP discussion. How is P2 and the squad feeling? Plus, let's address it now...Pat's in a contract year and with lots of recent DB deals, there's speculation about his future in the desert. What's his mentality this season? The guys discuss the injuries that were suffered around the league before jumping outside of football into the world of basketball and golf. For this week's 'Memory Lane' segment we revisit the famous moment where Pat struck the Heisman pose in the endzone while at LSU. '21 Questions' features a prompt about which wide receivers he wishes he had the chance to match up against. Then it's time for Honey Badger. Pat and Tyrann go back a long ways and explain their relationship from their time at LSU to Arizona to now. Who's the real DBU? After talking to these guys, it seems like there's no room for debate. The Chiefs are also 2-0, after barely clinging onto an overtime victory vs. the Chargers this past weekend. But can you ever doubt a comeback when you have Patrick Mahomes on your side? Tyrann continues on to discuss Kansas City's title defense and upcoming Monday Night Football matchup vs. Lamar Jackson and the Ravens. He shares the best games of his career before answering Superlatives with us. Introducing 'All Things Covered with Patrick Peterson & Bryant McFadden'
121
1st episode will be released Tuesday, September 22! Patrick Peterson and Bryant McFadden have made a living for their coverage skills on the football field, and while it's a different technique, they're now applying those traits on their new podcast 'All Things Covered'. Instead of wide receivers, tight ends and running backs, they'll be covering sports, entertainment, social issues, personal interests and more. Every Tuesday, the 8-time Pro Bowler Peterson and 2-time Super Bowl champion McFadden will discuss what's happening on the gridiron as well as what intrigues them off the field. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices
