Why Consistency Can’t Look The Same

Consistency is the #1 thing that people tell us stands in the way of them having the health they long for.  Sound familiar?

Is Your Health All or None?

Does Stress Affect Your Health Results?

Since we are both pressed for time and grocery shopping feels like an uphill battle, we have both found ways to save money and time for us.  Tracy has switched from Costco to Sams Club because they have a “scan as you go” feature.  Jess likes to get her groceries (and other things lol) delivered to her door with Instacart.

Exercising When You Have Pain

Let’s face it, you just drink more water when you have a fun water bottle.  Yep, it’s silly, but seriously true.  Tracy ordered some custom made water bottles for her and her boys at BAMandBougie and they’re all drinking more water these days.


Jess is a water drinker too, but she also enjoys her wine lol.  But she has realized certain wines do not love her back.  So if she is going to enjoy a glass, she’s going to have one without the toxins and junk that is often added that brings some massive headaches and inflammation.  That’s why she has switched to Dry Farm Wines.

Combatting Overwhelm with Compound Interest

Slow Progress is Still Progress

What do you do when you’re doing all the things and don’t SEE the progress?  The brain puts up resistance that:

The Thing That Got Me UNStuck

Why Treating Symptoms Isn’t Working For You

Most health and fitness is based all around treating the symptoms (eye roll, we’ve worked in the system for over a decade).

 

When you base health off symptoms, it’s lacking something:

  • Looking at YOUR uniqueness and needs

What do Stress & Hormones Have to do With Your Weight?

What You Believe Matters to Your Weight Loss

Why you Don’t Like Exercise & How to Handle it Without Increasing Your Stress Load

Less than 30% of American adults are getting the minimal recommended exercise per week.  50% of people report they do not enjoy working out.  However, when asked the question, How many of you want to feel more youthful, energized, pain free, stronger & more flexible? nearly 100% will answer YES!

So where’s the disconnect?  People WANT to feel better in their body.  There’s no lack of information on what to DO.  But it’s not working.  Even with the desire and knowledge, action does not happen.

Why Overwhelm is Keeping You From Results in Your Body

Why 5-10 Minutes of Exercise Could be the Best Decision You Make for Your Health

With all the noise of what you’re “supposed” to do for exercise each day to get benefits, it feels really overwhelming to take action when your life just doesn’t fit to that image right now.

When You’ve Tried it All and Nothing Works

In this episode, we dive into the 3rd and final in this series of what keeps you UN-Motivated.
When you’ve tried it all and nothing works.

You’ve been sold the “perfect” programs & products hoping “this time it works.”  
You see the results of the clients & coach and want what they have.  You get motivated & set out.  But deep down inside, the chatter in your brain says, “yeah right, you’ve tried this before.”  It doesn’t really believe you can do it.

When this pattern has been repeated time & time again (um, trying it all), it’s like having the gas pedal & brake on at the same time.

The Lie of Not Having Enough Time For Your Health

Today we dig into Lie #2 that keeps you UN-Motivated: not having enough time. It’s no secret that we all wish that we could add a little time to our day to “fit it all in.” But the people who do take the time for their health have no more hours in the day.

So what’s the secret to success?

  • When health is looked at as another “to-do” on your never ending list, it will feel frustrating & overwhelming to get it done.  When it is viewed as that, the brain already puts up resistance before you even start (after all, you ARE busy), so even when you REALLY want to commit, the brain fights against you.
  • Stop “should-ing” on yourself.  The belief of what you “should” be doing to be healthy gets in the way of honoring where you are in your life during any given season.  You get the power to evaluate how you want to move, look and feel through each day and DECIDE how to behave accordingly.  So it takes the pressure off the should and transforms you in the control seat to base your decisions on what you believe about yourself & your health in this season and it allows you to create YOUR success pathway.
  • Small steps create big wins.  You would never tell a loved one their small effort is not worth it, instead you would encourage the small wins, knowing very well it can grow.  When your brain and body feels these small wins, it starts to look at you like a person of success.  A person it wants to keep showing up for.

Showing the brain success & making decisions of what to do with your time takes the pressure off & allows you to start finding simple steps toward automating the health process so it comes naturally when you really are pressed for time.  So you keep moving forward, no matter what blocks life throws at you.

Lack of Motivation is a big word thrown around that many people use to why they don't have the health they desire & why they can't stay consistent.

Today's episode kicks off a 3 part series of why you can't stay motivated.

Today's Lie #1:  I'm Lazy/I don't have enough energy

If you were lazy, you wouldn't be here right now.

We are programmed in our society of how much we have to hustle in order to get results.  We're told "healthy" has to look a certain way, that you have to do certain things in order to get and keep results.

But if those things don't align with your needs, goals, or body's limitations, you will feel like a failure from the start. 

Instead, we are going to show you what is true about what's needed for your health.  The best news?  It doesn't have to require you busting it in the gym or pushing yourself beyond your ability.

We're going to break down the lie, help you define what success in your health looks and feels like and show you how these old beliefs are holding you back from what you want.

Because motivation comes and goes.  It goes when life throws a curve ball.  So instead of relying on motivation to stay (which is really relying on willpower), we're going to walk you through a success pathway to combat those stories & discover how you can adapt and shift based off your needs & desires.
