044 | Replacing Your Income and Finding Alignment with Kayla Zenner
34:40

On today’s episode, I am joined by Kayla Zenner as she shares her inspiring story of replacing her income and finding alignment. Kayla has become such a dear friend to me through masterminds and 1:1 coaching over the last six months and I know her story will resonate with many women in this community. We dive into what it looks like to leave a career you love, replace your income from home, build an intentional life, step outside the norm, and continue to reiterate to gain alignment and clarity.

Kayla Zenner is a farm wife and mom of two who took a step away from teaching to focus on her family. Along the way she found a creative outlet in cooking and baking and wanted to share that passion with others. Between running a home bakery and teaching others to enjoy the process of baking and cooking she has a growing garden and chickens.

In this episode, we cover:

  • Defining what your definition of freedom and success looks like
  • Just because you CAN do something or just because you’re GOOD at something, doesn’t mean it's good for you
  • Working through the fear of thinking you’re letting someone else down or the judgment of others
  • The power of going in 100% and how much you can achieve when you fully commit
  • How coaching and masterminds have helped Kayla gain clarity and community

043 | The Confusing Intersection Between Chasing and Content
24:42

You all know how strongly I believe that you have the capability to bring any goal or dream to life. As I reflect on what I’ve learned over the past several months of my healing journey, I’ve come to realize my own attachment between achievement and worthiness, productivity and feeling like enough. I’ve been doing a lot of intentional work on untangling these ideas within myself and I’ve noticed how many others have their own version of this as well. In today’s episode, I share my thoughts on the confusing intersection between chasing and content.

In this episode, we cover:

  • Being aware of where your goals are coming from and what your motivations are behind them
  • Accepting that multiple things can be true at one time
  • The comparison trap of social media
  • How goals can work alongside the vision you have for your overall life

042 | Embracing Your Changing Roles On and Off the Farm with Annaliese Wegner
37:20

On today’s episode, I have the joy of chatting with my friend, Annaliese Wegner about embracing your changing roles on and off the farm. As women, specifically women in Ag, our roles change as we continue to grow and evolve. Often with each change there can be a period of uncertainty and we adjust to what each role and season has to offer.

Annaliese is a Wisconsin girl, dairy farmer, wife and twin mom. You might know her as Modern-day Farm Chick. Annaliese has been sharing her story online for the past 11ish years in order to help connect people to their farmer. Through social media, mastermind events and her speaking, Annaliese encourages other women in agriculture to share their unique story.

In this episode, we cover:

  • Her story and transition from growing up on her family farm to moving to her husband’s family farm
  • Defining a Modern-day Farm Chick
  • The importance of trying new things and being open to opportunities that present themselves

041 | How to Navigate Busy Seasons as a Farm Wife
27:46

It’s officially planting season in our neck of the woods. I don’t know about you, but that means our family’s schedule gets turned upside down, sometimes for weeks on end. If you’re a farm wife, busy season might look different depending on your location, operation, or your role. If you’re not in agriculture, there may be a different time of year that looks extra chaotic compared to others. In today’s episode, I’m going to share the things I’ve learned on how to navigate busy seasons, such as planting and harvest, as a farm wife.

Even when I know it’s coming and what to expect, it can still be a lot. To be honest, sometimes it’s downright HARD. Thankfully, over the past seven years of living on the farm, I’ve come to understand what I can do to set myself up for success. I hope there’s a nugget or two in this conversation that will help you and your family on your own journey!

My top tips for how to navigate busy seasons as a farm wife:

  • You don’t have to sit at home… go out and DO!
  • Find a community that understands what you’re going through
  • YOU get to decide what this looks like; let go of the expectations of others
  • It’s okay to adjust your expectations in this season
  • Keep a positive mindset
  • Remembering that this too shall pass!

44:47

On today’s episode, I am joined by my friend, Lou Bluth! Throughout her lifetime, Lou has been on quite the journey from growing up in Texas to meeting a red bearded farmer at college in Utah to getting established in a whole new world on a Mormon colony in Mexico and eventually finding freedom as a family by living as their authentic selves.

Lou and her husband, Bronson, have been on a journey of asking questions, personal and spiritual growth, and breaking outside of the norm to find freedom and fulfillment.

I have LOVED watching Lou’s journey unfold and know that you’ll be inspired by the knowledge, passion, and curiosity that she has to offer. She is truly a unique light in this world and I’m beyond grateful to bring this conversation to you!

Lou Bluth is a wild, free, and curious farmwife on a soul journey of discovery. She’s a Texas-born girl living in the Chihuahua, Mexico desert. She’s growing a brand, two boys, lots of onions, and a deeper connection with herself and the mystery of life.

In this episode, we cover:

  • Constantly seeking fulfillment in your life
  • Not living on autopilot
  • Navigating a personal growth journey with your spouse (when they aren’t quite on board yet)

039 | Are Your Goals What You Actually Want?
22:48

In today’s episode, I’m going to dive into a topic that has come up NUMEROUS times lately for both myself and amongst many other women in my life. Today is an opportunity for me to ask you, “are your goals what you actually want?” So often we latch onto a goal because we think it sounds good or we think it’s something we should achieve. But does that goal actually align with your values and what you want your everyday reality to look like?

In this episode, we cover:

  • What is your definition of success?
  • The potential misalignment between what our goals are and our desired life
  • Putting blinders on the what you think you “should” do and really digging deep into what makes sense for you and your life

031 | “Who Am I” to “Why Not Me”
23:31

Do you have big dreams on your heart but find yourself saying “what if I fail” or “is this even possible” or “who am I to do this”? Today I want to dive into something that is such a common and frequent struggle amongst so many women in my life. Self doubt looks different for each of us, but there’s likely this nagging feeling of “who am I” to…*insert your own dream*. In today’s episode, I want to give you seven things you can do to overcome self doubt so that you can change the narrative from “who am I” to “why not me” and move closer to reaching your dreams.

The 7 things you can do to overcome self doubt are:

  1. Identify the source and root cause of your self doubt

  2. Set achievable goals to build confidence and trust in yourself

  3. Celebrate your wins

  4. Practice self-compassion

  5. Surround yourself with positive people

  6. Practice self care

  7. Seek professional help

028 | Tips for Pursuing Big Dreams in a Small Town
30:34

Today we’re digging into some things to keep in mind, and mindset shifts to make, as you pursue big goals in a small town. I recently asked my instagram audience about their biggest struggles as a small town dreamer and unsurprisingly, soooo many women shared nearly identical pain points. Whether you’re expanding the farm, building a business, starting to share online, beginning a health journey, jump starting a fundraiser - whatever it is - the struggles were similar all across the board. Between the weight of expectations, opinions of other people, fear of judgment, and not having support from family and friends, these things are felt collectively and can make a huge impact on the way we show up and pursue the dreams on our heart.

In today’s episode, I’m going to share a few things to consider, offer a different perspective, and some mindset shifts to hopefully encourage you to keep going and to also make sure you know you aren’t alone.

In this episode, we cover:

  • The importance of surrounding yourself with community
  • Being mindful of whose opinions you’re letting matter
  • Getting confident in what you’re in pursuit of
  • Why YOU are a leader in your small town
  • A glimpse into my first experience of EMDR therapy

Today’s guest, Emily Shaw, and I have been social media friends for a few years so bringing her on the podcast today felt extra fun and special! Emily wants Dairy Girl Fitness to represent a strong, confident, and hardworking group of women.

024 | Nothing Magically Changes on January 1st
20:31

As we approach the new year, I want to encourage you and remind you that nothing magically changes on January 1st. In today’s episode, I walk you through a process of reflection and action planning to approach 2023 with intentionality. The thing is… this is the same advice I’d give you whether it was April or September or anytime throughout the year. You’re the same person on the first day of January as you are on the last day of December. You don’t need a fresh new year to wake up and decide to make changes to your life. BUT, since this topic is fresh on everyone’s mind, I’ll share my two cents on setting intentions for the new year!

In this episode, we cover:

  • Things to consider:
    • What are you most proud of from 2022? Every win - big and small - deserves celebrating
    • What do you want to carry into the new year?
    • What would you like to create more of in the coming year?
    • What do you need to release?
  • Steps to take:
    • Once you’ve identified the above things, write them down as if they’re already true
    • Narrow down your list to top 5 or top 10 - too many things to focus on at once is overwhelming!
    • What habits or baby steps could you start to get you closer to your goal?
    • Make an action plan

Thank you to Mindy for graciously sending it our way!

In this episode, we cover:

  • Getting clear on what you want and how to get that clarity
  • Continuously having the courage to ask ourselves “what do I actually want?”

022 | The Power of Community
24:30

Today we have a very special kind of episode planned for today. Last month, I had the incredible honor of hosting my first ever ASCEND retreat for rural women in Destin, Florida. And on the final day of our weekend, one of my coaches and dear friend, Coach Kiah, pulled each woman at the retreat aside and asked them a series of questions about their experience.

My podcast manager and I wanted to use this audio to put together an episode to, first of all, serve as a beautiful tribute and keepsake for the incredible women who attended this very special, incredible first ever ASCEND retreat, and also as a tangible way to explain just what kind of magic is in store throughout the ASCEND experience.

021 | Feeling Better is Not the Same as Healing with Kristen Rogers
56:03

I am bringing you a very impromptu episode today about how sometimes feeling better is not the same as healing. I’m currently in the middle of a healing and self discovery journey, and the episode that was originally planned for this week just didn’t feel right. So instead, today you’ll meet Kristen Rogers. She is a dear friend whom I met through the mastermind that we both participate in. The morning that we recorded this episode, we had been messaging back and forth about our healing journeys. On the fly, I asked her if she’d hop on a call and record an episode on the topic with me... And she agreed! I adore and admire her so deeply and know you’re in for a treat as she shares so much wisdom, experience, and encouragement.

In this episode, we cover:

  • The difference between feeling emotions vs. managing emotions
  • How sometimes we focus on helping others so that we don’t have to focus on helping ourselves
  • Addressing the root problem instead of just putting a bandaid on it
  • Making yourself sit and feel each emotion, even when it’s an emotion you can’t name
  • Ideas and tips on how to make time to be still and put in the work to heal
  • A different perspective on what self love means

020 | What’s the Best that Could Happen? with Hilary Richards
34:08

Today I have the honor of chatting with my friend, Hilary Richards. From the power of unconditional community, to trusting your intuition and never giving up on your dreams, in today’s episode we answer the question of “what’s the best that could happen?”

Hilary is the founder of the SHE CAN CLUB, the fastest growing female empowerment movement in Sonoma County, California. After years of people telling her what she should do with her life, she dug deep and figured out what she was meant to do with her life. She is now on a mission to smother her local community of women with support until they have the confidence to take action on whatever it is that they feel called to do.

In this episode, we cover:

  • What the SHE CAN CLUB is and who it’s for
  • What to do if you’re stuck in the “shitty should cycle”
  • Going against the grain and disrupting the norm
  • The power of perseverance
  • Permission to change and pivot from where your dream began

019 | Reframing What it Means to Enjoy the Holidays
25:13

We are officially in the thick of the holiday season, which is equal parts beautiful and stressful.  One question that comes up a lot, that I know can create a lot of anxiety, is how to continue our health journeys and habits over the holidays. In today’s episode, I’m going to share some of my experiences and things that have helped me to answer that question all while reframing what it means to enjoy the holidays.

In this episode, we cover:

  • Releasing the hype and pressure that the holidays can bring; whether that’s around food, relatives, and overall expectations
  • Ways to reframe enjoyment and what is actually important to YOU
  • Focusing on approaching the holidays through your own filter and your own priorities
  • There is space for both; treating the holidays as special and focusing on traditions AND still taking care of my physical, mental, and emotional health

We talk about how in both our business and social media, we need to show up in our true gifts, skills and energy, knowing that our paths will evolve as we go. 016 | Growth Through Healing
32:41

In today’s episode, I share my candid thoughts on the intertwined connection between healing and growth. This conversation was sparked by a message on social media where someone from our community was sharing her own story and realization. Honestly, since that message my wheels have been really turning on what it means to grow alongside a healing journey. We often think that if we take the time to stop and focus on healing, that everything else has to pause and it will hold us back from growth. However, I’m learning that giving myself space to heal is actually allowing room for expansive growth in ways that I never saw coming.

In this episode, we cover:

  • What it means to grow through these seasons of healing
  • When’s the last time you did something just for the fun of it? With no purpose, no productivity, no learning - just for the fun of it
  • The impacts of being disconnected to my creativity

Over the past few months I’ve tuned in to the ways that I’m ready to better support my mental health. 005 | 5 Morning Habits for Success
33:48

For most of my life, a morning routine was something that did not exist whatsoever. In this episode about 5 morning habits for success, we cover:

  • The five habits that make up my morning routine
  • How I haven’t always been a morning person and creating and staying committed to this routine did not come naturally for me
  • The breakdown of each habit; why I do them and how each one has impacted my life and my growth journey

003 │ WHY We Procrastinate (and what to do about it)

In today’s episode, I unpack WHY we procrastinate and what to do about it. I get extra vulnerable with you as I share the nitty gritty of my lifelong struggle with procrastination. I share a few things I’ve done over the past year to gain self awareness around why procrastination is my default and tools that have made my life easier and set me up for success. If you tend to push things off until the last minute, I’m sure that you can relate to the embarrassing stories I share and find a trick or two that will be helpful in your own journey.

In this episode, we cover:

  • Uncovering why we procrastinate and the types of things we are most likely to procrastinate doing
  • The 5 things that have helped me combat procrastination

002 │ What Do You Actually Want Your Life to Look Like? with Katrina Klooster
50:17

Today’s conversation with my dear friend, Katrina Klooster, is all about building habits and answering the question “what do you actually want your life to look like?” Katrina Klooster is a life and business mindset coach for new entrepreneurs. She helps women who know they were made for more build the mindset to courageously go after what they really want. Instead of focusing on what everyone else wants them to do or what they think they should do, Katrina helps women do the inner soul searching to find out who they are without their masks, what they really want and what's getting in their way. She then helps them create a personalized plan to create more of what they want. Through this work, Katrina's clients are able to show up as their truest selves and make the massive impact they know they were here to make in their lives and businesses.

In this episode, we cover:

  • The importance of looking inward - instead of outward - to create your habits so they’re supporting your goals and desires
  • The power of starting small
  • Giving yourself grace and allowing yourself to make mistakes
  • Our personal experiences with habit challenges like YouDoYou82

001 │ Do It Scared
15:22

Today is the day…my very first podcast episode! Welcome to Gather in Growth! Creating this show has been a long time coming and I am beyond excited it’s finally here. I recorded this episode the moment I plugged in my new podcast equipment… way too late at night, coming off of being sick, and in my dining room with poor acoustics and all. Part of me wanted to re-record in favor of a perfectly polished first episode, but I ultimately decided that 300 episodes from now I want to look back and smile on where it all began. This episode is as real as it gets. After all, imperfect action is what gets us from where we are to where we’re going and I hope this episode empowers you to do it scared. Thank you for joining me for this crazy journey!

In this episode, we cover:

  • My story of how I got where I am today and where I want to be
  • The catalyst that helped me launch my health and personal growth journey
  • The rollercoaster of emotions, mental roadblocks, and excuses that stopped me from making this podcast happen sooner
