It centres around Jacob Sankofa, a former paramedic battling alcoholism, during a formative period of his life spent alongside the mysterious figure known as Amahdalia, a former member of a clandestine cryptozoological research society, who specialises in assisting people who have encountered organisms that exist outside the bounds of conventional science.

And as Jacob and Amahdalia's relationship deepens, he quickly comes to realise that his new friend is just as much of an impossible oddity as the beings they face together.”
