I am a devoted Celtics and ringer enthusiast. I've fully enjoyed listening including the live Ricky if only to gauge the level of sixer fan about simmons' non jumper, Joel's health, and everything about fultz. keep on keeping on.

Just glad to finally have a sixers podcast. Maybe too much sixers talk though?

The Rights To Ricky Sanchez is a podcast that is hosted by Spike Eskin and Michael Levin and mostly, sort of about Sixers basketball.

Episode Date
Delightful Sixers Beat Whiny Jazz, Enter All-Star Break In First Place
If you close your eyes, you can hear us doing the version of the pod that we'd have done if they lost... but they didn't. A celebration of the first place Sixers and Joel Embiid who go into the All-Star Break first in the conference. Tobias Harris was the closer, and Donovan Mitchell whines his way into the locker room. Spike explains why both Rudy Gobert and Donovan Mitchell are frauds, we discuss how much is too much for Kyle Lowry, and Doc Rivers' last laugh with the all bench lineups.
To donate to Michael and David's marathon in honor of Ryan and support American Foundation for Suicide Prevention, donate here at the GoFundMe or even better, here at Facebook.

Should The Sixers Trade For Kyle Lowry?
The Sixers loss to the Cavs seemed to just be 'one of those games,' but did expose some larger issues for the team. We talk about those issues, Ben Simmons' continued offensive surge, whether the Sixers should consider trading for Kyle Lowry or Victor Oladipo, the comparisons of the current Sixers to the 08-10 Phillies, and what to do about urinal stage fright.
* Michael Bivins is not on the podcast as we said in the intro. We did have some technical issues and he will be on in a later episode.

Sixers Escape From Toronto (Tampa), Ben Simmons All-Star Selection & Turning The Corner

Thank goodness that's over. The Sixers split against the Raptors, but looked pretty ugly doing it. We discuss the Raptors defense that wreaked havoc on Joel Embiid, Tobias Harris the finisher, and the welcome return of Shake Milton and the real Furkan Korkmaz. We discuss the importance of Ben Simmons' aggressive play and making the All-Star team, Tobias' snub, whether they should pursue Boogie Cousins, and whether James Harden is now in the MVP race. Finally, an intense Relationship Advice segment and a mailbag.

Joel Embiid, Destroyer Of Worlds, Is The NBA's Best Player

After several other Joel Embiid games, we had The Joel Embiid game, a 50 point masterpiece against the Bulls. We discuss Joel's growth and journey, as Mike slowly devolves into the most typical of Philadelphia fans to describe him. We also discuss Tobias Harris' growth as playmaker and rebounder, the varying perspectives on Danny Green, what Daryl Morey thinks about the Sixers three pointer deficit, and the departure of former Eagles quarterback, Carson Wentz.

Back To Winning, Simmons' Explosion, The Next Sixers Snake Guy

The Sixers ended their three game losing streak as only they can do it, in an ugly win over the Rockets. We discuss performances from Seth Curry, Tyrese Maxey, and Isaiah Joe, while Joel Embiid's worst game of the year went for 30-11-9. We follow up with Joel's back issues, Thybulle's best game, whether Simmons' offense means he can play more minutes at center, two potential guard targets, shitting ice cream, who the next Sixers "snake guy" will be, B Ball Paul in Orlando, and the worst NBA player who could win MVP after curing cancer.

Sixers: The Coach, The Core or The Bench?

The Sixers have lost two straight on the road, and glaring was the production from bench units and their three point deficit. We talk about the reasons for both and whether it's a coaching change, a bench addition or a core change that will remedy them both (along with debating the merits of Devin Booker and DeAndre Ayton). We discuss possibly adding Nemanja Bjelica, a parents themed relationship advice, another round of Jokic vs. Embiid, another MVP discussion, and where you stand when you pee.

Sixers Out West, Playoff Priorities, Trading For Kyle Lowry

The Sixers are proving they can win games when they're not at their best, with a suffocating fourth quarter defense. We discuss accepting that this is just how good Embiid is, what will make a successful road trip, whether the Sixers would rather acquire a small ball five or a point guard, whether they can acquire Kyle Lowry, which Sixers player would be the best Valentine, foods from our youth, extreme heat vs. extreme cold, and which NBA team could survive best without its top player.

Sixers Starting Lineup Is 13-0

It wasn't the test we were looking forward to, but the Sixers starting lineup moved to 13-0 with a convincing win over the Nets. We discuss Embiid's continued dominance, Simmons'  (maybe) best game so far this season and whether Mike will put any respect on Danny Green's name. We debate a potential ban in the Morey family, and bring on Andrew Unterberger to talk about a column he never wrote that would currently be roasted every minute on the internet, along with whether he'll ever admit he's wrong.

It's A Trap! How Do The Sixers Guard The Nets?

The Sixers got caught in a trap game against Portland, and even though they lost, survived a scary fall from Joel Embiid. Even in the forgettable game, Embiid's 25 point 2nd quarter was something to behold. We discuss how the Sixers will guard the Brooklyn Nets, if Tobias Harris is 75% of Bradley Beal, the NBA All-Star voting, and if Embiid's style of scoring by getting to the line can hold up in the playoffs.

Zoned Out! Furk and Thybulle Heroes, Embiid Or Giannis, Redick Return?

The Dan Burke Revenge Game! January is our month, and the Sixers close it out with a stunning victory led by a 2-3 zone (RIP John Chaney), Furkan Korkmaz and Matisse Thybulle. We discuss whether Joel Embiid is better than Giannis Antetokounmpo, whether the Sixers should trade for JJ Redick, an on-court challenge from two losers, and the science of who picks up the ball after a made basket. We've Always Believed In Tobias Harris

In a war of MVP leaders and MVP wannabes, the Sixers showed they belonged with the Lakers, and ultimately won on a game winner from Tobias Harris, who we've always believed in. We discuss the big shot, LeBron James' (debated) cheap shot on Joel Embiid, a Spike declaration of war, Ben Simmons coming to play, and the rest of the game. We also discuss "Championship or Bust," the odds of the top eight MVP candidates and who actually can overtake Embiid. We also discuss a stunning trade proposal from an Australian listener.

The Napa Trip Is Happening, Ben Simmons Awakens, Embiid Still MVP

Ben Simmons has woken up. In the 4th quarter against the Celtics, Simmons came alive and kept it going into the Pistons game. We discuss the new and improved Ben Simmons, Joel Embiid's continued, improving and consistent domination, and their comments about each other afterward. Then we dip into the mailbag and compare these Sixers to the Doc Rivers Celtics, share some other roommate stories from listeners, and whether the almost-Harden trade could be an Iverson-almost-trade like moment.

MVP Joel Embiid, Simmons as Draymond, Smelliest NBA Player, Bad Roommate Stories

Joel Embiid's MVP case grows by the game, as he quietly dominates again on both ends of the court. We discuss the differences in Embiid's game this year compared to previous seasons, the argument for keeping Shake Milton coming off the bench, the directions Ben Simmons' career could go and the Draymond Green comparison, Simmons confirmation bias, who is the smelliest NBA player, and some personal bad roommate stories.

The Sixers are positioned due to contact tracing, but we're talking about Shake Milton's bully-like performance against the Grizzlies, what is up with Ben Simmons on the offensive end, and Mike's never-ending commitment to the development of Matisse Thybulle. Then we bring on Corner Three Newsletter writing, James Harden desiring Alonzo Jones to talk about the Sixers pursuit of a star in the future, Delco vs. South Philly and whether faith in Daryl Morey is still solid.

The Tyrese Maxey Game, NBA Protocols, Point Guard Danny Green

While the situation that led up to it was regrettable, Tyrese Maxey's 39 point performance against the Nuggets will live on forever. We talk about Maxey's game, point Danny Green, Isaiah Joe letting them fly, and the NBA protocols that led to a game being played with seven active Sixers. We also go back in time to talk about our 2017 draft takes, whether Simmons could prefer Houston, and when it stopped being embarrassing to admit you met someone online.

The New Sixers Look Eerily Similar To The Old Sixers

We talk about the bright spots in Shake Milton, and Tyrese Maxey, Tobias Harris waking up, Joel Embiid being the best player on the team on both offense and defense, the development of Ben Simmons, and if we'll spend all year wondering if a James Harden trade is happening. We’re also giving away a pair of autographed Under Armor Embiid 1s in Joel’s size. Just go to by September 18th and tell us in 100 words or less what the Process means to you.

Elton Brand Front Office Takeover, Farewell Brett Brown, Sixers Anxiety

Josh Harris said he was going to do a deep dive into what went wrong with the Sixers and change it. Elton Brand, who is apparently not one of those things, gave some hints as to what might change. For the second half of the podcast, we surprise Mike with a special appearance from Andrew Sharp of Greatest Of All Talk (which you have to pay for). Sixers Adam had to cancel so the Sharp surprise both delighted and infuriated Mike.

Joel Embiid Obliterates Owners, Sixers Win Simulated Computer Championship During Pandemic

When the Sixers owners attempted to make every non-contracted Sixers employee making $50,000 or more take a pay cut, Joel Embiid stepped in with a superstar moved and publicly shamed them into changing their minds. We discuss the PR blunder of the century by the owners and team CEO, the Sixers victory in the Yahoo NBA simulated NBA2K playoffs, some huge, exciting additions to the Rights To Ricky Sanchez Charity Zoomathon on March 29th, how you should greet Brad Stevens in a dog park, and how big an asterisk a championship in an empty arena would be.

The Covid-19 offseason continues with a talk about when the NBA will resume and if the players will get their next paycheck, replacing Flip The Switch with the five-hour Rights To Ricky Sanchez Charity Zoomathon (next weekend), and a monster mailbag, including which non-Embiid Sixers player is the most likely to get out of shape, the most controversial basketball fantasy trade of all time, and the meals we’re eating during self-quarantine.

Kevin O'Connor (Ringer) On Tom Brady, No Basketball, Basketball, And Music He Loves

Kevin O’Connor of The Ringer was unbanned because of his beard and sweetness and talked about what he’s doing with his free time, the fact that the Patriots should have kept Jimmy G and traded Tom Brady and then he did a WEEI audition, the Sixers playoff rotation, who his favorite guitar player ever is, up and coming female pop artists, and he has to choose the winners of two matchups of the Field Of 64 Jigsaws.

This is a tough time for everyone, and we beg you to support our local small business sponsors, Big Barker, Adam Ksebe (Realtor who can help you refinance!), Colony Meadery, LL Pavorsky, Adam Kornblau, Kinetic Skateboarding. They supported us and they need it from you now.

Corona-Offseason: Field Of 64 Jigsaws, Jimmy Butler and JJ Redick Podcast Analysis

The Ricky has been social distancing for seven years, we were born for this. In the first episode of the Most Offseason Podcast series we’ve ever done, we talk about what it’s like to be stuck at home (surprise, Spike is fine with it), some analysis of the JJ Redick podcast with Jimmy Butler, and Mike takes part in the first ever Field Of 64 Jigsaws.

Sixers Win The Last Game Of All Time As Coronavirus Suspends The Season

This is quite clearly the most ridiculous podcast we’ve ever done, as it was recorded immediately after the Sixers beat the Pistons, and the NBA suspended the regular season. Do we get the OKC pick now? Does Mike have to do Field Of 64 Jigsaws? What percentage of men wash their hands after going to the bathroom and wasn’t the Process always going to end with a new disease that ends the season? We also remember a godfather of the Live Ricky, Bryan Dilworth, who passed away this week.

Everybody Hates The Sixers

After a loss in Golden State to a G-League team, we discuss why we have an influx of emails, tweets, and reviews talking about how much people hate the Sixers. Mike gives his theory about why we’re going to be watching them for a long time this season, update the status of the OKC pick, we analyze audio from the owners and CEO, decide on who the kinkiest Sixers player is, talk about the firing of Kenny Atkinson, find joy in Shake Milton and the need for him to be the 5th starter, and whether you’ll get a refund for your Al Horford Appreciator shirt.

Tanking To The Top: Relitigating The Process With The First Book About The Sixers Rebuild

We’ve relitigated The Process on podcast a thousand times, but it’s finally relitigated in book form. The first book about Sam Hinkie’s controversial Sixers rebuild has been written by Yaron Weitzman is called Tanking To The Top, and it’s out March 17th (pre-order here). Yaron joined us to talk about the behind the scenes stories he was able to uncover about Sam Hinkie, Brett Brown, Joel Embiid, and even the Rights To Ricky Sanchez, as well as the backstabbing, controversy, and intrigue.

The Shake Milton Game! Moral Victories! The OKC Pick! Sixers Adam's Big Announcement!

Sure, the Sixers lost to the Clippers, but Shake Milton tied an NBA record for consecutive threes, scored 39 points, and became an instant “he’s going to help in the playoffs guy.” We give an update on the Top 20 Protected OKC Thunder Pick, our new logo, whether we have revisionist history about Sixers front office moves, and a huge announcement from Sixers Adam. Finally, Spike tries to convince Mike to do a field of 64 Jigsaws.

Hello Darkness My Old Friend

Joel Embiid has a sprained shoulder and is out for who knows how long. Ben Simmons has a back injury that the Sixers are lying about. The Sixers lost on the road to the Cleveland fucking Cavaliers and nobody seemed to care except Kyle O’Quinn, who somehow is still on the team even though he asked to leave. But at least we figured out how the Sixers are so much better at home, and it has to do with electronic rims. We just need to do the process just two or three more times.” - Tony T

Guide To Surviving A Ben Simmons Back Injury and Sixers Ownership and Front Office

Ben Simmons had a back injury but the Sixers let him play anyway, and now they not only lost a game to the Bucks but Simmons for likely an extended period of time. We discuss an organizational ethos that is to blame for repeated instances of carelessness with player injuries, what the ceiling of the team without Simmons is, the return of Bryan Colangelo Relationship Advice, and the Sixers’ decision to raise ticket prices substantially for a second consecutive year.

We Never Doubted The Sixers and The Joel Embiid Instagram Jimmy Butler Shushing Controversy

The Sixers beat the Clippers convincingly, and we never doubted that this was possible. This entire season, we’ve all been very positive. Al Horford started the game on the bench, Furkan Korkmaz had the best zero point game ever, and the Sixers go into the All-Star break all smiles. We discuss how seriously you should take the Joel Embiid Instagram Jimmy Butler fiasco (Spike says pretty seriously), an amazing story of Process long distance love, why Philadelphia sports fans are so deranged, and much more.

Furkan Korkmaz Is The Best Player In The NBA And Saving The Sixers (At Least For Now)

Furkan Korkmaz is the only player on the Sixers to score 30 points in consecutive games this year, which is amazing and a true joy, but is it enough to make the Sixers not so painful to watch? Hard to say. We talk about Joel Embiid’s game, with a line better than the eye test, their inability to find a way to make use of Al Horford, whether we’re going to want all of this time back when we’re on our death beds, buyout candidate Tyler Johnson, GRIII and Alec Burks taking five days to get to the team, and more.

Sixers Trade Deadline Review And Another Horrible Road Loss

Another trade deadline passes, and the Sixers say hello to Glen Robinson III and Alec Burks, goodbye to James Ennis, Trey Burke and three second round picks, and then hello to a second round pick. Then they got their asses handed to them in Milwaukee. We discuss how the Sixers did at the deadline compared to the rest of the league, the horrible performance from the team and Embiid against the Bucks, Spike’s opinion about ownership, the comments from Horford and Embiid and the Josh Richardson-led team meeting, and whether all of this is our fault (it is). April 11th, save the date.

If You're Gonna Play Hard, Play Hard, If You're Gonna Sit Hard, Sit Hard

After the Sixers loss in Boston to the Celtics, we discuss whether the team has the ability and personnel to be able to bring the kind of energy and execution needed to win a championship, why Joel Embiid looks as passive as he does, and whether anything can happen at the trade deadline to remedy it. We go into the SixersAdam Trade Machine to propose and debate three different potential Sixers trades. We talk about Matisse Thybulle’s exclusion from the Rising Stars game and his agent’s comments, a former NBA executive sort of saying the name, and if Zhaire Smith the player is worth more than his value on the open market.

Embiid's Return, Off-Ball Simmons, Trade Deadline Countdown, The Shake Milton Game

Joel Embiid is back, but doesn’t look quite right yet, Shake Milton had the Shake Milton game but unfortunately it was in a loss to one of the worst teams in the league. We discuss the questionable defensive efforts on the road, the upcoming trade deadline, Ben Simmons’ play since Embiid has come back, and which Academy Award nominated movie the Sixers would be. We also discuss the passing of Kobe Bryant, and the complexities of idolizing people you barely know. We also play the final Tony Toni Tatone cover song.

Sixers Dominate Lakers, Reintroducing Joel Embiid, What Is The Real Ceiling?

The Sixers dominated LeBron James, Anthony Davis and the Lakers on Saturday, bringing to light questions of how to reintroduce Joel Embiid, what the ceiling of the team really is, and what Simmons and Embiid can to do maximize the team’s championship potential. We also discuss 538’s new ranking that has the Sixers as the most likely team to win the Finals, if Shake Milton can be a regular contributor, and what will ultimately determine Burke vs. Neto. We also play some of the newest cover versions of Tony Toni Tatone’s newest hit.

The Best Version Of Ben Simmons Debate, Sixers Depth, Trade Rumors and Leaks

It’s better to have both Ben Simmons and Joel Embiid, but can we see the version of Ben Simmons we saw against the Nets with Joel Embiid in the game? What will it take to bring out the best version of both players, and why is it so hard to have an honest, all encompassing conversation about Ben Simmons? We talk about Furkan Korkmaz’s development, Tobias Harris’ consistency, trade leaks and rumors, and the Toni Tony Tatone Cover Song Contest for “You Don’t F**k Wit’ Me (I Won’t F**ck Wit’ You).

Sixers Trade Machine Fun, Furkan's Arrival, and Joyless Wins

The trade deadline is coming! The Sixers Adam Trade Machine is here! The Sixers continue to manage to take just all all of the fun out of basketball, and still win a couple of games, Furkan Korkmaz is the best player on the team, Markelle Fultz had a triple double and a game winner on the road against the Lakers, Mike Scott and Al Horford might be washed, and Sixers Adam makes his first appearance on the Ricky to propose some trade ideas including one for a high level point guard.

Should Brett Brown's Job Be In Jeopardy? Is He Doing A Good Job?

The Sixers pulled out a win at home over the Nets with a strong fourth quarter, in a game that featured many of the problems and issues they’ve had all season long. Even though it’s after a win, Mike sounds tortured and concerned, as we talk about what the team is, and what they could be. We discuss the job Brett Brown has done this year, what is and is not his fault, and if he could lose his job before the end of the season. Finally, we talk about Joel Embiid’s new shoe and piece in the Player’s Tribune.

Andrew Sharp Invades The Ricky: Celtics Suck, Embiid Is Hurt, Blowtorches and Bullets

Joel Embiid will be reevaluated in two weeks for an injury that he inexplicably returned to the game with. Brett Brown has decided to take a blowtorch to the defensive scheme without Embiid. We’ll discuss how they’ll survive and what we can expect, and if it can secretly be good for Embiid. Oh yeah, that stupid asshole Andrew Sharp is unbanned for one episode to promote his stupid new podcast, Greatest Of All Talk, which you have to pay for?

Can The Sixers Fix It With This Roster? The Chain Of Sacrifice And Accountability

Joel Embiid looks miserable, Al Horford looks terrible, and the Sixers are in the midst of a four-game losing streak. The players are talking about accountability, Brett Brown likes their spirit and wonders if they can flip the switch, and everyone is begging Ben Simmons to shoot threes. Is it possible for the Sixers to right the ship in a real way without major roster changes, and who needs to sacrifice and change to make it happen?

Two Way Night: Haywood Highsmith, Shizz Alston. Blue Coats Coach & General Manager, Process Memories

Delaware, where the Process still lives. We spent Friday night in Wilmington while the Sixers were losing a game we all knew they’d lose and having much more fun. Thanks to Draft Kings Sportsbook, we’ve got a special bet for Fly The Process V. Download the app, go to the Promotions section, and opt in to the Ricky Special. The bet is this: the Sixers win, TJ scores more than 4.5 points, and you got +500 odds on it! You don’t even need to go on the trip. The odds are so good that they’re limiting the bet to $5.

Sixers Built For Playoffs, Bucks Are Regular Season Trash

Christmas in Philadelphia was a success, as the Sixers ran the overrated, regular season Bucks right out of the building. Giannis was exposed, and Joel Embiid looked like the best player in the NBA. We talk about what we can take from the game in a positive way, and lessons the team should learn moving forward. We also talk about Mike’s three point competition with a Blue Coats player a two-way night, and potential chant instructions for Fly The Process V.

Furkan Korkmaz On The Ricky, Beating The Zone, Trade Targets

Finally Furkan Korkmaz makes his appearance on the Rights To Ricky Sanchez podcast. Spike sat down with Furkan for a half hour to talk about yellow shoes, adjusting to life in the United States, the best moment of his life, and an exceptional TJ McConnell story. Trade Season Has Begun, Sixers Sleepwalking And Zoned To Death, Top 100 Sixers of The 2010s

Trade season has opened in the NBA, and there are some former Sixers who are available that could help the current club. What will it take to get them? The Sixers look half-asleep against the Heat and unable to bust their college-style loser zone, and lose their second in a row after a disappointing loss to the Nets. Finally, Mike is sick, so some old Liberty Ballers jokes and references make him feel better. We also discuss the Top 100 Sixers of the 2010s.

Dec 19, 2019
Tobias Harris' All-Star Case, Embiid vs. Barkley vs. Shaq, Sixers 4th Quarter Struggles

Tobias Harris has become the Sixers most reliable scorer and an above average defender, what has caused it, and does he have a better All-Star case than Ben Simmons. The net result of the Joel Embiid, his fun factor, and the Charles Barkley and Shaquille O’Neal back and forth. We diagnose the team’s fourth quarter struggles, Spike names his favorite non-Embiid Sixers player, and we asses Elton Brand’s performance as general manager.

Special Guest Anna Horford, Embiid's Fun, Sixers Hinkie Aversion

To think that we, The Ricky, would welcome Anna Horford, Al Horford’s sister on the podcast shows just how far we’ve come. Anna, younger sister of Al, and host of The Horford Happy Hour podcast, joins us to talk about growing up as Al’s sister, going from Boston to Philadelphia, what it would take to hate the Celtics, and many other Horford related topics. Anna is also brave enough to enter the Jigsaw. We also talk about Joel Embiid’s fun quotient, a Ricky engagement at the game, and a denied Hinkie t-shirt.

Dec 12, 2019
Tell Your Agent, Tell Your Family, Sixers Roll With and Without Embiid

The Wizards game never happened. The Sixers obliterated the Cavs in what may have been Ben Simmons’ most dominant offensive performance, and then turned around and beat the Raptors, even with Joel Embiid struggling once again. We talk about Brett Brown’s demand of one three pointer and eight free throws, the malaise that has surrounded Embiid and the difference between him physically in 2016 to today, the consistency of Tobias Harris, Thybulle settling in, and whether or not Spike and Mike are actually friends.

Sixers Quarter Season Grades, A New Process Enemy

We give grades to every Sixers player at the quarter-season (!!) mark of the NBA season. We grade them based on our expectations for this season, which does seem to favor Furkan Korkmaz in a lot of ways. We also discuss the newest enemy of the Process, who we will see in Indiana, and whether Joel Embiid “gets away with” a lot of stuff.

Every Game Is A Nailbiter, Embiid and Simmons Offense, TJ McConnell's Return

Ways that the Sixers can get Joel Embiid and Ben Simmons opportunities on offense that aren’t post-ups or transition baskets, every single game is a nail-biter that comes down to the wire no matter who the Sixers play, where they play or how they play, Embiid playing in two back to backs, TJ McConnell’s value to the Process and return to Philadelphia, the Norvel Pelle experience, and Tobias Harris settling in to his midrange comfort zone.

Matisse Thybulle's Coming Out Party, What's Up With Joel Embiid?

Joel Embiid had the worst game of his career and then followed it up with one of his best games of the season. Matisse Thybulle took advantage of some playing time given to him because of a Josh Richardson injury and a Furkan Korkmaz roasting to play his best minutes of the season. We talk about the ups and downs of the Simmons and Embiid experience, the fact that Jimmy Butler won’t shut up, and Mike gets mad at an emailer.

Washed Jimmy Butler Who Just Wants To Win, Gets Roasted By Sixers

Jimmy Butler, who just wants to win, and works harder than anyone, chose to play with a bunch of sixth men in Miami instead of the Sixers. In his return to to Philadelphia, he was booed lustily, and got his ass kicked by the guy he was traded for, Josh Richardson. Joel Embiid looked like himself, and the Sixers were at their best on both sides of the ball. We talk about Butler’s return, Horford’s good few games, and the first time Brett Brown ever wasn’t nice about someone. We rule on whether to once again ban Kevin O’Connor, talk about the Sixers City Edition jerseys, and the most disturbing Jigsaw of all time.

Ben Simmons Hits A Three In Sixers Win Over Knicks, Just Like We All Knew He Would

We all knew that Ben Simmons was going to shoot and make a three this year, and he did, from the corner, like a boss. It was Simmons whose defensive frenzy later led the Sixers, who once again made things more difficult than they should, past the Knicks. We discuss Korkmaz vs. Thybulle, Joel Embiid’s Chernobyl syndrome, why Mike doesn’t believe in clutch (even though he believes Mike Scott is), whether Mike Muscala is now a different guy, and one of the funniest Jigsaws of all time.

Nov 21, 2019
Are Sixers Issues Effort, Execution, Personnel or Scheme?

After five straight road losses, the Sixers sit at 7-5, with an offense that is often times excruciating, and a defense that isn’t living up to the hype. We talk about how much is personnel, effort, execution or scheme? Will time and adjustments turn them into the championship contender we’d hoped, or will it take a change in personnel? The jigsaw makes its triumphant return, and the Lorenzo Brown mailbag is a comical blend of panic and sadness.

The Therapist Is All Booked Up: Harris' Cold Streak, Sixers Slog, Trade Proposals

Tobias Harris hasn’t made a three in weeks, the Sixers barely beat the Cavs and then lost in Orlando. We discuss the reality of the time it will take for the Sixers to come together, and what problems might not be cured with time. Also, Embiid' playing himself into shape while sitting out games, Brett Brown’s responsibility, Simmons around the rim, the revelation that is Kyle O’Quinn, some panicked emails with trade proposals, and Mike’s old player descriptions.

*Warning: due to a rec league basketball injury (causing a pain killer) and it being 3am EST, Mike sounds very very slow. This is not a technical error.

Sixers Concern Level After West (Worst) Coast Trip

The Sixers have lost three in a row, their offense seems stagnant and their defense has shown some leaking. We talk about how much concern we should have, the title-readiness of the two young stars Simmons and Embiid, Matisse Thybulle’s first DNP-CD, hot Furkan and Kyle O’Quinn, and the possible of a Butler and Embiid Chernobyl type event. Also, Spike takes us deep into beef-corner with a former football writer.

Pop The Kork(maz), Undefeated Sixers

Furkan Korkmaz was mad that he wasn’t playing enough so he wanted to be traded, the Sixers then didn’t pick up his rookie option. He became an unrestricted free agent, and no one wanted him, but the Sixers couldn’t find anyone else, so they re-signed him. That’s what made the game winner so sweet. We discuss the Portland game, the Horford screen, O’Quinn passing, and Anfernee Simons. We also talk about whether Embiid should cool it in a number of ways.

Nov 04, 2019
Embiid Beats Up "Bi*ch" Towns, Sixers Remain Undefeated

Joel Embiid got into a fight with Karl-Anthony Towns, and then called him a number of names on Instagram and Twitter afterward. Ben Simmons joined in, Al Horford did not, and Mike Scott really enjoyed all of it. We talk about the fight and how it can galvanize the team, the defensive efforts in the wins over the Timberwolves and the Hawks, the team’s evolution on offense, the Korkmaz game, and naming the new Victory Cigar player, as well as Frosty Freeze-Out leader.

Sixers Undefeated With Al Horford Who We've Always Appreciated

Al Horford has been a player that we have appreciated and desired for almost a decade now. He had a huge fourth quarter to cement a Sixers win over the Pistons, and keep the team undefeated through two games. We discuss Horford’s big night, Tobias Harris’ explosive third quarter and how many threes he should shoot per game. We discuss Simmons’ attacking the rim in traffic, how heavy Josh Richardson’s jumper is, and where the Sixers might find shooting moving forward.

Sixers Mangle The Celtics, Who Are Trash (Enes Kanter Starts At Center)

It was ugly at the start, but the Sixers, who are on pace to go 82-0, beat the Celtics into submission, 90s NBA style. Joel Embiid only had to play 23 minutes, Josh Richardson was an animal on defense, and Al Horford rang the bell. We talk about the play of each starter, and the bench, which featured Furkan Korkmaz for nearly 20 minutes, Kyle O’Quinn shooting threes, and neither Neto nor Burke till the very end. The Celtics are trash.

The Jrue Holiday Trade (Ricky Rebroadcast)

Two weeks later, Spike and Mike would record the first ever "Rights To Ricky Sanchez."

The podcast is on a two-week vacation. We'll be back stronger than ever?

As well, there's a before and after podcast (before LeBron signed and after) with Mike and his Lakers fan girlfriend Alyssa that is at the end of this pod.

NBA, Sixers Free Agency Day Preview

At midnight on Friday, the NBA Free Agency period will officially begin (sort of, you still can't sign anyone but they can talk and everyone will announce deals). We go through the available free agents and talk about the likelihood of them becoming Sixers, as well as the possible destinations for LeBron James. We discuss the strong reaction to Mike's CJ McCollum trade, and talk to Andrew Unterberger about his article about the Sixers doing nothing, and the five-year anniversary of The Ricky.

Also, we banned someone from the pod.

Spike's fault.

Sixers Draft Recap: Sixers Pick Up Zhaire Smith, Landry Shamet, Shake Milton and Picks

The Sixers surprised us all by doing what everyone expected, picking Mikal Bridges. Then they did what not of us expected by trading Bridges to Phoenix for Zhaire Smith and a 2021 Miami Heat first round pick.

Then there was some trading, some picking, some more trading and then a little more picking. We recap the night!

Jun 22, 2018
The State Of The Sixers Heading Into The Draft With John Gonzalez

Mike and guest host John Gonzalez talk about the state of the Sixers going into the draft, including why and how they still don't have a general manager. The huge question mark of Markelle Fultz is one that the Sixers must have some clarity on before they make their pick on Thursday. They weigh the pros and cons of moving up, and potentially taking on the Chandler Parsons contract, as well as LeBron/Kawhi/Paul George dreaming. Also, BurnerGate gets revisited and of course some Hinkie talk.

Kawhi Leonard Rumors and The Ringer's Danny Chau Talks NBA Draft

Finally... Danny Chau is on the Ricky. The guy who wrote about Farewell Evan on Grantland when he was just an intern, and then became a valued member of the now disbanded Retweet Armageddon Congress, draft lover, Ringer employee and food guy Danny Chau joins us to talk about the upcoming NBA Draft and his adjacent relationship to Sixers fandom. We also discuss the new rumors about Kawhi Leonard and whether the Sixers can trade for him.

Beat It, Bryan! Ownership Does The Right Thing, Sixers Fans Help Unseat Colangelo

It took long enough, but all's well that ends well. Bryan Colangelo resigned from his position as President and General Manager of the Sixers after an 'investigation' proved that his wife tweeted team secrets on several different Twitter accounts. Colangelo continues to deny he knew anything about the accounts. Weird! This one's a victory lap.

Jun 07, 2018
Sixers Refuse To Do The Obvious, The Colangelo Controversy Is Ruining The Offseason

Somehow we're in the ninth day of this, and the only people who don't know that the right move is to move on from Bryan Colangelo is the Sixers themselves. We try to keep our sanity, discuss what could be causing the delay, and decide what happens if they don't fire him.

Jun 07, 2018
The Burner Controversy Continues, Find A New Slant

We are in the fifth day of the Bryan Colangelo Twitter fiasco, with no communication from the team. We discuss how we think the situation should and will progress, the guy in San Francisco with the t-shirts, the reports and speculation, and The Americans finale.

We've got a new shirt. This is self explanatory. Always go FULL DETRICK. Get it here.

We'd like to be clear that this was our (Spike's) idea, and Tanner Lowry's design, and Ben Detrick did not have anything to do with its creation or promotion.

We told Ben about it, and of course he thinks it's hilarious.

Jun 02, 2018
Bryan Colangelo's Twitter Burner Accounts

At one time, long, long ago, the Markelle Fultz story was the weirdest one in the history of the Sixers. Not anymore! Thanks to Ben Detrick and The Ringer, Bryan Colangelo's (supposed) burner Twitter accounts is definitely the weirdest. This might be our post anticipated podcast of all time.

Hinkie Speaks, Redick Speaks, Embiid Dunks On Some Guy

Today's podcast is admittedly pretty meta! We discuss Sam Hinkie's appearance on the Invest Like The Best podcast, including his long view approach to marriage and asset management approach to children, JJ Redick's appearance on a Ringer podcast of a banned personality, Joel Embiid's appearance on a Philadelphia playground to dunk on a regular guy as well as his appearance on the All-NBA Second Team. We also discuss Run The Jewels' decision to favor the Ricky over the Super Bowl.

Thanks to local singer Felicia Ricci, who recorded the video of Embiid dunking on some guy, for coming on and telling us about seeing it and her run-in with Meek Mill while getting a manicure.

We announced on the podcast that this year's Lottery Party raised $18,100 for Justice Rescueand the National Coalition Against Domestic Violence. Thanks for your part in this!

The 2018 Lottery Party Featuring Robert Covington, Pablo Torre, Amos Lee and Mike Weber

Look, is this the most coherent, technically sound Ricky you're ever going to hear? The answer is no. There's a lot of yelling and craziness but it's fun to relive if you went, and to hear and actual wedding take place on our podcast. And the guest lineup is pretty crazy, it's like we're a big deal! Finally, listen for no other reason than to hear the ovation Robert Covington got, Spike being a jerk about not being able to hear himself and Mike's Jason Kelce speech.

Lottery Party t-shirts on sale until 8pm Wednesday.

Good: Lottery Party Preview

The 2018 Rights To Ricky Sanchez Lottery Party is almost upon us! On this mini-bonus pod we run down some important details, give you some tips and instructions, and basically wonder why this is all happening.

Disclaimer: sorry the sound quality is a little less than normal, Spike deleted it the first time we did it so we had to go old school.

See you at the party!

Keep Ya Head Up: Season In Review, Pivot To Offseason, The Ricky Awards

The 2017-18 Sixers exceeded the expectations of anyone who isn't a maniac or perhaps a parent of one of the players. We go back and talk about the things and players that surprised and disappointed us most. We hand out the annual Ricky Awards as well; everyone is eagerly anticipating who will win TJ McConnell of The Year. And we pivot to the offseason, as If Not, Pick Will Convey As Two Seconds writer and star Andrew Unterberger joins us to discuss his piece about this summer being the best ever.

Over Now: Sixers Season Ends In Gave Five Loss To Celtics

Now we remember what it's like to lose. The Sixers looked like they might get blown out as the first half ended, but they TJd, Joel'd and Dario'd their way back into the game. It wasn't enough and the first Process Playoff run ended. We talked about what went wrong and right in the series.

We'll do a season in review this weekend, and see you at the Lottery Party.

May 10, 2018
Alive: TJ McConnell Leads Sixers Away From Elimination

The Sixers' backs were up against the wall, so they called a man who they knew could get the job done; TJ McConnell. Brett Brown started McConnell, who played 39 minutes and led the Sixers past the Celtics, and sent the series back to Boston.

Don't Look Back In Anger: Sixers Go Down 3-0 To Celtics

The Sixers had a shot to win this one, like they had a shot to win the last one, but weren't able to get it done. There was Embiid trying to end the lives of Baynes and Horford, another great TJ game, but no win. There's no anger or mopeyness here, but a podcast of perspective, reflection, some honest realities, and a look at the game itself. One of our best!

May 06, 2018
Down In A Hole: Sixers Go Down 0-2 To Celtics As Simmons Disappears

It seemed like we might get the Process dream, a win led by Robert Covington and TJ McConnell. So close, but yet so far. Ben Simmons had the worst game of his career, Brett Brown decided not to call a timeout, and in the cruelest of finishes, Al Horford hit a big bucket. Can they still win the series?

A Total Disaster: Sixers Lose Game One To Celtics

The Sixers lost an ugly one to the Celtics in game one of the Eastern Conference Semifinals. When we say ugly, it was mostly the Sixers who were ugly. Bad defense, missed shots, questionable decisions from the coach, just a disaster all around. Mike is pretty mad, it's one of his best performances.

Our greatest t-shirt ever, "Process Or Die," is available right now for a limited time on our website.

It's Boston! Sixers Celtics Eastern Conference Semifinals Preview

The Sixers are playing the Celtics in the Eastern Conference Semifinals, and we've got a full preview in the only way we know how to do it.

We also announce the winners of the Lottery Party wedding!

Too Good! Simmons, Embiid, Redick Help Sixers Dispose Of Heat

30 For 30: How Did The Sixers Win That Game?

The Sixers never, and I repeat, never win that game. The Heat came to play, and the Sixers did not, for three quarters or so. Ben Simmons made plays on offense, Embiid dominated on defense, and they got some key contributions from some role players. This is the second golden era of the Ricky. We're here for this

Apr 21, 2018
Sixers Win, Joel Embiid Returns, Playoff Dario, Playoff TJ

Joel Embiid went from doubtful, to probable, to starting, to playoff Embiid. It was glorious. The Sixers had to fight to win this one, and we saw a little playoff Dario, playoff TJ, and playoff Justin Anderson as well. We discuss the win, as well as Robert Covington's play, and the general chippiness of the series.

Apr 20, 2018
Sixers Go Cold, Wade Gets Hot, And Joel Embiid Is Angry

The Sixers lost a game for the first time in a very long time, and the playoff series vs. the Heat is knotted up at one game each. We'll talk about the Sixers going cold from three, Dwyane Wade's revival, and the chances that Mike Weber is to blame for all of this.

Apr 17, 2018
Sixers Dominate Heat In Playoff Opener, Process Hero Confronts Silver In Stands, The Kevin O'Connor Ban

The Process Era Philadelphia 76ers are undefeated in the NBA playoffs. Much to Dave Silver's dismay, the Sixers cleaned it up after a messy first half and demolished the Heat in the opener their first round playoff series. We discuss the game, and the vibe before, during and after it. As well, we talk about Hero Of The Process, Academy Award nominated screenwriter Mike Weber confronting Silver in the stands about The Process.

We've also announced the finalists of the Lottery Party Wedding contest! Please go to rightstorickysanchez/weddingvote to read their stories and cast your vote!

Sixers Heat NBA Playoff Preview

In June, we'll celebrate five years of the Rights To Ricky Sanchez. This is the first podcast we've ever done previewing a playoff series for the Sixers. Let's look at Heat vs. Sixers. We all love the offseason Ricky, but we're glad to wait for it this year.

A side note: the Lottery Party is happening regardless of whether the Sixers are in the Eastern Conference Finals or not. Let's get there first then worry about it!

Joel Embiid Broke His Face On Markelle Fultz's Shoulder, Sixers On To The Next One

Joel Embiid breaking his face on Markelle Fultz's shoulder is, as Mike put it, a little too poetic than we're comfortable with. We discuss the the injury, the Sixers surviving without Embiid for at least the rest of the regular season, Markelle Fultz's progression, Mike's appearance on The Ringer, and we talk to Mike's dad who is an eye doctor about Embiid. Not too surprising that Mike made his appearance on the Ringer and then we have his dad on the pod immediately afterward.

We also announce the big contest for the 2018 Lottery Party! GET MARRIED AT THE LOTTERY PARTY. That's right! All of the information is right here.

How Far We've Come: Sixers In The Playoffs (Almost), Brett Brown Coach Of The Year Candidate

It seems like just yesterday the Sixers were trying to avoid becoming the losingest team of all-time while we argued that it was the right thing. One of the Children Of The Process, Robert Covington, joins us for a short interview to preview his appearance at the 2018 Lottery Party. Joel Embiid is an All-Star starter in 2018, soak it in. He's starting an All-Star game before Andrew Wiggins, Jabari Parker, and most surprisingly Doug McDermott. We discuss the greatness of Embiid, whether Simmons will make the team, and if the Sixers should be in on trying to trade for Kemba Walker or Rodney Hood. We also touch on the Markelle Fultz situation, the Process Echo Chamber, and the current struggles of Robert Covington.

We Were Right Before Christmas: Live Ricky II (featuring Chris Ryan)

We discuss Joel Embiid's injury, the people who were wrong, do some Adam Silver slam poetry, ask Chris Ryan about Bill Simmons a lot, talk to Jake Pavorsky about why he left us, say Markelle Fultz will be better than James Harden, and do a really out of control Q&A with the guys from BGN Radio and Larry Poff.

Let's Talk About Brett Brown, Ben Simmons and The Live Ricky

The Sixers lost again on Tuesday night, and again to a bad team. Back to back losses to the Bulls and the Kings (without Joel Embiid) have people out for Brett Brown blood. We talk about how Brown has done this year and what responsibility he has to fix what's wrong. We also discuss Ben Simmons' decision to take six shots in last night's game.

The live Ricky is FRIDAY! Tickets are $18 if you get them before Friday, and $20 on Friday.

Joel Embiid's Minutes, ESPN's Failure, Paul George Trade, NBA Rule Changes

Joel Embiid was great in the three overtime loss to the Thunder, but played 49 minutes, and 88 minutes in the last two games with a sore back. Is this too much? Would you trade for Paul George knowing he's a free agent? ESPN did a whole day on the Sixers and din't say the name, some Bryan Colangelo Relationship advice and Around The League with Ish Smith.

Amazing news, the first 200 people into Friday night's live Ricky, We Were Right Before Christmas, will get the incredible Allen Iverson Philly Word Art print, featuring all of his stats from his MVP Season. You'll also see a live BGN Radio pod, Larry Poff (he's our baby), the Ringer's Chris Ryan, and get a photo with Jake Pavorsky. First 150 people also get a $150 LL Pavorsky gift card (off a purchase of $500 or more) and there ARE KORNBLAU T-SHIRTS.

The losing streak is over! Somehow, the Sixers find a way to get it done in Minnesota. We talk about Embiid's performance, and the feature written about him by ESPN. Simmons vs. Ingram, Embiid vs. McConnell, NBA On-Court Fashions

Ben Simmons and Brandon Ingram met again, and Ingram got the better of it this time. How does that matchup look moving forward? We look at what went wrong in the home losses this week, and a rousing mailbag including a potential fistfight with Joel Embiid and TJ McConnell.

Another thanks to Run The Jewels for agreeing to allow us to use the song "Legend Has It" as our new intro song. Listen to their music, buy their stuff and let them send you push notifications.

Jah Freed, See Ya Sauce, Music Surprise

It's been 300 days since Mike ended the podcast correctly. All it took was Trevor Booker, a second round pick, and Nik Stauskas to get it done. We react to the life and times of Jahlil Okafor the SIxer, and bid a fond farewell to the living pick swap, Nik Stauskas.

There has also been an update on Markelle Fultz.

We also welcome brand new intro music to the podcast, give a big welcome to our friends (maybe one day) in...

Sixers At The Quarter Season Mark, Awards, Grades, Predictions

It might seem a little excessive to do awards, grades, and predictions at the quarter-season mark of an NBA season, but to us it seems perfectly reasonable. We'll grade out all of the Sixers players, coach, and GM, as well as give out some normal, and some strange awards.

We announced this week that The Ringer's Chris Ryan will join us on stage at We Were Right Before Christmas on December 22nd, and BGN Radio announced that Larry "He's Our Baby" Poff will join them on stage. It's really turning into the biggest, most insufferable, inside joke holiday party in history. Get tickets at the "in advance" price of $18 now!

They are $18 until the day of the show, when they become $20.

Ricky Mailbag: Bathing With Sixers, Spin Moves, And Bartender Colangelo

Everything has been awfully serious and sometimes depressing over the last week, so we decided to lighten the mood with an all-mailbag Ricky. We picked creative questions. We'll talk about getting into a hot tub with Sixers, all-time spin moves, seeing John Gonzalez naked, some Jigsaws for Mike, running over Lou Bega, and more.

If we didn't get to your question, we will next time! Or the next time! We will do more of these.

Heartbreaking Loss or Moral Victory? And The Markelle Fultz Fiasco

Just as we all predicted, the Sixers had a lead in the fourth quarter and lost to the Rockets. Are we at the point yet where we can start being mad at losses like this? We discuss the TJ McConnell game, the performance of the young stars Simmons and Embiid, and Brett Brown's coaching decisions down the stretch.

We also discuss the most Sixers controversy of all-time, the Markelle Fultz injury-non-injury-what's-wrong-with-his-shot fiasco.

We also discuss the Celtics trade and fan behavior.

Sixers Sideline Reporter Molly Sullivan French

We've all watched a lot of Sixers for the last four years, and it hasn't always been easy. But once in a while, even if you don't tell anyone, you can skip a game. You can scroll through Twitter or watch the new Black Mirror trailer while you watch. Molly Sullivan French has not had that option.

Along with the rest of the TV team of Marc Zumoff and Alaa Abdelnaby, Molly has had to not just watch, but concentrate on every Sixers game since she's arrived.

We also discuss Rights To Ricky Sanchez Radio on 94WIP.
